I just wondered what happened while Kirk was talking to Sulu in the movie. Here's my take in a quickie oneshot. K rating may be too high, but just in case. Enjoy!

Summary: Bones tries to bring a little romance into a friends-with-benefits relationship, putting his foot in his mouth in the process. K-Mc Slash.

This was inspired by the last line of the Epilogue of the movie novelization where a certain beagle transports in out of nowhere. There's a supreme being looking out for the new Enterprise, and it isn't God or Satan either for that matter.

SpockxUhura: This relationship isn't easy for him, and this topic must be one of the most uncomfortable aspects for even a half-Vulcan to broach. It probably wasn't the most logical of choices to tease him about the Human struggle for self-expression.

Such impractical wanting tests his logic; the analytical striving to prove anarchy incorrect.
