Chapter 1: What Can Go Wrong?
-Earth; Domain Of Goddesses; P.O.V: James Edward Scott-Naoko-
I awaken in a chair, groaning in pain as I rubbed my sore body. I gasped and looked around, remembering what had happened before I blacked out. I was hit by a truck, saving a little girl as she chased her ball out into the street. My body was flung into the air and crashed unceremoniously on the ground and splattering blood everywhere. I shuddered at the memory and thought about what I had remembered about myself and making sure I didn't retain any memory loss. Thankfully, I had all my memories intact. My name is James Edward Scott-Naoko, a Black/Japanese male with dark skin and brown eyes and black hair styled in an afro. I also stood at about 5"4" at 16 years old and had an average build for my age. Damn, I died without having sex too! Fuck, that sucks… Wait, did I die? I looked around at the room I was in… Or, lack of room thereof. It looked more like an empty space with nothing but black all around me. Then, a light pierced down from the sky above me and I covered my face from the blinding light. Okay, ow… That is a bright ass light. I lowered one of my hands as the light dimmed a little.
"Ah! You are finally awake… Well, this is a pleasant surprise. I was hoping you would wake up a little sooner… But, you did get hit full force by Truck-kun," a female voice said from behind me. I turned around and blinked in surprise as a female with aqua blue hair and blue eyes walked up to me and puts her hand on my shoulder.
"I'm kinda happy I got to you before the higher ups took you from me. Not many humans die that way… Sacrificing themselves for another. Commendable trait you have there, James Scott-Naoko." I nearly fall out of my chair at that moment… She knows my name?! Do I know her?
"Ah… You must have a million questions for me, huh? All will be answered as soon as the other shows up. Just know that you are dead," She said enthusiastically. I trembled in shock at that revelation. I'm dead! I AM DEAD! NO WAY! Then, a loud BANG! Forced me out of my shock and I looked over at a male with shaggy brown hair and green eyes landing in a chair next to me. I stared at him as he looked around the space and he stopped on me. I knew him… He was a shut-in at my hometown that plays a lot of games in his house. A lot of my classmates call him a NEET but I was friendly to him since I kinda harmonize with him in some ways. I love games and I didn't have too many friends. But, I never shut myself in my room and at least attempted to make friends. However, I never got a girlfriend. Shit… Anyway, I looked at him in stunned silence.
"Kazuma?" I said and he gasped in shock, "You too?"
"Wait… James? Man, I was kidding about you and I dying at the same time!" he said and he shook his head. I looked down and sighed.
"I can't believe that I died at 16, man. But, at least that little girl is safe," I said as I shook my head, "You?"
"I… Saved someone from getting hit by a truck," he said and I flinched at that, "What?"
"That's what happened to me!" I said and he smirked darkly.
"Damn… We even died the same way. What kinda luck is that?" Kazuma told me and I scoffed at it.
"I say shitty. Why did I have to die?" I said sardonically as I shook my head, bringing my left hand to my forehead, "Well, no going back on my choice. So, you said something about higher ups? You mean, God?"
"Well, yeah. Who else? Honestly, it's not too hard to see you are a rare breed, James. Unlike your friend, Kazuma," She said as she looked at Kazuma, "Unfortunately, you did not die of Truck-kun, like James. In fact, the girl you tried to save was all right, in fact… I mean, if a tractor could stop on a dime, I am sure you would be fine." Tractor? Wait…
"What are you talking about?" Kazuma asked her as he stared at her. She had a shit eating grin on her face as she looked at him. Oh, this is not gonna be good…
"You died of shock, Kazuma… The Tractor was nowhere near you. You pissed yourself when you died. The paramedics couldn't help but laugh at your ridiculous condition," She said and I held back a laugh for Kazuma's sake. I mean, it was funny in a fucked up way… But, that has to be the worst way to go out, with people laughing at your misfortune. She busted out laughing at Kazuma as she explained the rest to him, how his parents found out about his death and laughed as well at the ridiculousness of it. Ah, Christ… Now I really feel bad. I shook my head and Kazuma screamed in anguish as he shook his head while holding the sides of his head.
"Hey, umm… Can you lighten up a bit? He already feels worse," I told the woman and she stopped laughing to wipe the tears away from her cheeks. She was crying from all the laughing she was doing.
"Whoo, man! Nothing like a good laugh to lift your spirits for the rest of the day," She said as she looked at Kazuma and then at me, "Now, down to business. I am Aqua, the Goddess in charge of sending souls wherever they are needed the most. And, between you 2 and me… Heaven ain't all that's its cracked up to be. You just sit there, doing nothing and there is no manga to read or anime to watch. It's kinda boring…" Okay, I expected that 100%. Why would any of that be in heaven? Have you SEEN the stuff printed in manga these days? Yeah, that would shatter my view of Heaven any day.
"But, my parents always said that I would have a place in Heaven if I believed in God and remembered that his son died on the cross. Is that wrong?" I said incredulously.
"Oh, that still stands. But, the thing about there only being just one God… No, that's false. There are many gods and Goddesses like me in Heaven. We have out own predestined job when we are created. If we disobey, we are sent to either the mortal realm to be reincarnated as a human or to Hell to live the rest of our existence in agony. It's a shitty choice," She said and I flinched at that. My whole world just got turned upside down in a matter of minutes, just like that. I spaced out after that and went to my own thoughts.. What would happen to me? Would I be sent to Heaven or be reborn again? I would rather still go to Heaven… And, see some family members that I haven't seen in forever. Then, I heard the Goddess call to me and I snapped from my thoughts.
"Geez, James… You think you could pay a little attention? I was going on a spiel about being Isekai'ed to another world," she said and I sat up at that. Isekai, she said? I'm interested…
"Let me give you the abridged version since Kazuma here is choosing his preferred weapon. I am sending you to a world that is being ravaged by a being named the Demon King. Your mission is to kill him and gain the recognition of heroes across that land! Sounds cool, huh? Best part about it is that you can take any 1 skill or weapon with you," She said and I tilted my head to the side.
"I wouldn't recommend picking from this pile, though… Most of these abilities kinda suck," Kazuma said as he looked back at me. I frowned at that and folded my arms, going into deep thought. Anything 1 thing I want? Well, if she said ANYTHING… I snapped my fingers and stood up. Kazuma looked up at me as I got a serious look on my face.
"Okay, how about this? Can you change me into a Saiyan? You know, like Goku from Dragon Ball Z?" I asked the Goddess and she stared at me in confusion as she blinked her eyes at me. She was eating some chips and was sitting on a throne.
"What?! You can ask for that?!" Kazuma asked in shock and the Goddess stood up, wiping her hands and walking up to me.
"Do you really want this? I mean, once I do this… You can't go back. I can only grant something like that to someone who is worthy," she said seriously. Okay, that took a serious turn.
"What happens if I am not worthy?" I asked her curiously as she placed a hand on my forehead.
"Well, you could die a second time… But, it's a 50/50 shot," She said and I flinched at that. Well, I'm already dead… So, YOLO.
"What the hell… Hit me up, Goddess!" I yelled and she smirked as she closed her eyes and a blue aura surrounds her body. Then, a large electric shock emitted in my body and I groaned in pain. About 20 seconds of this pain coursing through my body before she lets go of my forehead and I crumpled to the floor in pain. Kazuma looked at me as I laid on the ground. I panted as the pain slowly went away. Then, my lower back felt like it was on fire as I clawed the ground. Something furry swished out behind me as I slowly sat up. I felt my arms tense up slightly and I looked at myself. I had grown some slight muscle and it seemed like I had grown about 3 inches. I reached behind me and felt a long bristly tail behind me. Holy shit… This Goddess really changed me into a Saiyan! YES! I got to my feet and over at the Goddess as she seemed to drool at my new muscles. She touched them and swooned. I blinked at her and blushed slightly. She regained her composure and cleared her throat.
"So, you knew what I was talking about?"
"Well, yes. I do read manga, after all. Dragon Ball Z is a hot topic around the Gods and Goddesses, after all. But, unfortunately… There are not that many requests to make anyone reincarnate into any of the races of Dragon Ball. Which is why we made a rule to only grant those requests to those who are worthy. Otherwise, we would have a colossal headache trying to keep them under check. Oh, well… You are the first in about 20 years to be reincarnated as another alien race, entirely. Feel proud, James," She said as she gave me a thumbs up, "As a bonus, take a look on your wrist." I took a look on my wrist and gasped. It was a watch that looked EXACTLY like the Great Saiyaman watch that Bulma made for Gohan in the Buu Saga!
"The only way I had to make you into a half-Saiyan was to look into your memories and find out if you were a big fan of Dragon Ball. Luckily, you were and also found out that you were a player of Xenoverse, like Eris. So, I imported some stuff from your save file into the watch. You're welcome!" Wait, seriously?! And, here I thought she was useless son! Okay, Goddess!
"How do I access it?" I asked her curiously as I looked at her fully. She pressed the red button on the left side of the watch and a screen appeared in front of me. It showed my name and my level, which was 1. Yeah, I kinda figured that would happen. Although, it looked exactly like the Xenoverse 2 menu screen. So, I knew how to work it. How did she even do that? I clicked the red button and retracted the screen.
"Okay, Goddess… Send me away," I told her and she stepped back a few feet.
"Hey, wait a minute! Can I get what he has?! Please!" Kazuma told her and she stared at him.
"Sorry… You aren't exactly worthy. To be honest, I can only do that once a month," she said and I blinked at her in shock. No wonder she could do all that easily… It's like a one trick pony. I pretty much robbed Kazuma… My bad. He screamed in anguish and I looked at him apologetically.
"Besides, he died with purpose. You just died of shock. I think he gets first dibs, anyway." Ouch… Even I'm not that bad. A blue circle appeared under me and I looked down at it.
"Now, James… I wish you luck on your journey! Defeat the Devil King and claim the name Hero across the land!" She called and waved her hands out in front of her. Then, I realized I haven't even got her name.
"Hey, hold on! I didn't get your name!" I called and she smiled at me.
"I am the Goddess named Aqua! We will meet again! Farewell, hero!" She called and I disappeared into thin air. I blacked out at that instant and the last thing I saw was Kazuma's face looking at me in Envy. Sorry, Kazuma…
-Scene Skip; Axel, The Town For Beginning Adventurers-
I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in an old town that looked exactly like it came out of an MMORPG. There were people of all ages walking around, talking with one another. I blinked and scratched the back of my head, wondering what to do first. I was alone, so… I should probably ask where the guild was. If I am supposed to fight some sort of Demon King, then I should get stronger. Since I am a Hybrid Saiyan, I should get more potential. Gohan never took advantage of it in canon, so… I should get the edge over him, at least. I stretched my body out and began walking around, wondering who I should ask for directions. I stopped in front of a middle aged woman with silver hair and green eyes and asked her where the guild was.
"Ah, you must be a new adventurer. Well, you should head down this path. The guild is down that way," She said kindly and I bowed to her respectfully before walking off down the path she told me to go down. I decided to check out my watch and see what I retained from my save file from Xenoverse 2. Thank you again, Aqua… That was a clutch move. I looked at the multiple options onscreen. They were…

Interesting… These remind me a little of the Gamer Fics I read back in my world. I clicked on the Customize option and it showed Top, Bottom, Hands, Feet, Accessory, Primary Weapon, and Secondary Weapon. I checked each one and realized there were full sets of a lot of the clothing I had in-game, like the Battle Suit(Bardock), Krillin's Orin Temple Gi, Pilot Suit, Gi(Demon)… Stuff like that. I looked down at myself and realized that I was still dressed in the clothes I died in, which were tattered. I wondered why no one acknowledged that, not even Kazuma or Aqua. Oh well… I changed into a full set of Gi(Demon) and customized the colors to be red, mint green, and black. I checked the Primary Weapon option since that is new to me. It showed a bunch of the Accessories that I had in-game on Xenoverse. So, I chose Tapion's Sword as my primary weapon and the Power Pole as my secondary weapon. I hung the sword on my left hip and the Power Pole off my back. I then back out of that menu and checked the Bag option. It showed a bunch of capsules with… Nothing inside of them. Huh… Maybe since some of the medical herbs that exist in Dragon Ball don't exist here, it won't show up. That's fine… As long as my Senzu Essence Capsules and Beansprouts are fine. And… They were, strangely. Okay, I can work with that. I can probably do some bartering for that and make money. Speaking of which, do I still have my Zenie? Can I converge that into currency in this world? I took a quick look around the screen and saw the money counter at the top right of the screen. It was an amount of 3 Million… Exactly how much I had in Xenoverse 2. Wonder how much that can amount to in this world. I can save that for later… I already know I am Level 1. But, I should check my stats. I checked the Level option and it shows my level and stats… Which were pretty high for a Level 1.

What the hell? That's a lot more than I expected… Huh?! Meteor Combination?! Revenge Assault?! Explosive Masenko?! Aren't those PC modded moves?! I didn't know I can get those! If that were the case… Give me Wicked Pulverizer or even Heavenly Assault, if you were gonna go the extra mile! Man, whatever… Abilities and Perks interest me, however. I checked out Abilities next.

Oh… Well, Kaio-Ken and Ultimate are my only transformations. Okay, I can agree with that… Especially since if I got Super Saiyan off the bat, I could be the strongest beginner ever. Ultimate can help me get stronger faster… Since it enhances me faster than anything else. And, I will only whip out Kaio-Ken if I get into trouble. Yet, this thing calls Ultimate Mystic… Interesting. Anyway, I checked Perks… And, it was empty. Probably will get some perks when I level up more. BGM was the last thing I checked and an icon of my phone appeared. I clicked on the phone icon and a bunch of English anime music covers by a few of my favorite artists as well as an assortment of alternative and rock music albums of my favorite bands and artists appeared in a circular pattern. I whistled and pressed on one that read Mayday English Cover by Amalee and Mayday started playing in my ears. I brought my hands to my ears and felt a pair of headphones on my head. Oh… Interesting. Looks like BGM is Background Music, like I thought. I wonder if anyone else can hear the music. I looked around and realized no one… Hell, not even the children… Noticed any change. They went about their day, like nothing changed. Wow… Cool. So, linking my hands behind my head… I walked ahead without taking too much notice around me. Well, I should've… Because I didn't know I was being followed.
-A Few Minutes Later; Adventurers Guild-
I cycled through my BGM while I walked to the guild, finally settling on The Open Door album by Evanescence and chose Weight Of The World to play. As the song played, I put my screen away and arrived at a large building and found a big conspicuous looking building. This building had a hand written sign on the front next to the doors that led inside. I opened the doors and my headphones disappeared from around my head and ears. The music stopped as well as I walked through the doors. The place was as big as the building led on, with a pub for the weary travelers to rest and eat whenever they needed to, a booth where Adventurers needed to sign up I'd assume and a large waiting area for some travelers and Adventurers to meet up and converse. There were a lot of people in the pub area and the waiting area and barely anyone at the booth. I walked over to the booth and waited for someone to walk up to the booth. After a few seconds, a woman with blonde hair wearing a red top and white dress skirt walked up to me from behind the counter and greeted me with a smile.
"Hello, there! Welcome to the Axel Adventurers Guild! How can I help you?" She said to me and I cleared my throat before I spoke to her.
"Yes, I am not from around here. I heard this town's Guild is perfect for beginners… I would like to sign up as an Adventurer, please. Is there anything I can do to get started?" I said respectfully and she smiled.
"Of course. You just need to pay the starter fee to get signed up as an Adventurer. You also need to have a card with your stats… Do you have either one of those? If you don't have the card, we can supply you with one. You just need 2 gold coins (5000 Zenie)," she said and I flinched when she said the Zenie part. Did I hear that correctly? Can I actually… Hmm. Let's test this. I then remembered that I didn't know how to get my Zenie. Out of nowhere, 2 gold coins materialized in my hands. I looked down and stared at the coins before handing the coins over. I guess it converges immediately… Well, that solves that problem. But, another problem arises… How do I earn money for my quest? Would it turn into Zenie or gold coins? Or will it turn into something different?
"Sorry.. I don't have a card. Do I have to pay for that?" I said and she shook her head.
"Not at all. Here you go!" She said and slides me a gray card, "If you could, follow me over here. We will register your info onto your card." I followed the woman after she came back from around the counter over to a weird hourglass looking contraption. She motioned for me to step in front of the machine and place my hand on the top of the machine. I did as instructed and she took my card and places it at the bottom.
"Okay. This will take a minute… Please do not move from your spot, okay?" I nodded my head and stood perfectly still, waiting for something to happen. Surprisingly, the machine shot a light blue beam onto my hand and it went through to the bottom of the machine to my card, which began scanning the card from top to bottom. After the minute had passed, she told me to remove my hand and I did so. When I removed my hand, she took my card and looked it over.
"Ah… This is incredible! Your stats are well balanced across the board! I have never seen anything like this in all my time with the guild! For a beginner, this is perfect stats! Who knows how far you will go!" She said with a smile as she hands me my card. I looked at it and saw the same stats I saw on the watch… So, this is good. Awesome!
"With stats like that, you can choose any class you want!" She said and I looked up at her in interest. Huh… Sweet. So, any class? Is there a Martial Artist class?
"Is there a Martial Artist class? If not, I can take anything involving offense and defense simultaneously," I said calmly and the guild went deathly silent, "What? Is that a taboo class?"
"N-no… No one has chosen Martial Artist in a long time. It's the perfect class for a balanced stat Adventurer like yourself. But, no one has had balanced stats starting out, so it hadn't been chosen. So, it's a refreshing change of pace, honestly," She said and smiled at me. She sounded unsure at the beginning… But, I made my choice.
"Acknowledged! Today, you shall be known as James Edward Scott-Naoko, the Martial Artist! Please do your best as an Adventurer!" She handed my card back to me and my watch beeped. I looked down at it and it had a message written on it. New Updates on Multiple Options! I looked back up at the woman and smiled at her as I lowered my arm.
"Thank you, ma'am. I shall be going now," I told her and turned to leave. I stopped myself and realized I needed to accept some Quests. I went back to the waiting area and saw a large wooden bulletin board that was littered with requests of all kinds. I looked them over and spotted one that seemed easy.
Quest: Kill 15 Giant Frogs in 7 Days
Location: Plains
Rewards: 10000 Eris Coins; 10000 EXP; Uncommon Weapon of Choice
Interesting... Giant Frogs? Wonder what the hell that's all about. I took the paper and it vanished into thin air. I stepped back in shock and looked at my hands. My watch beeped again and realized what had happened. My watch took on the quest and put it away in its inventory. I nodded my head and looked at the board again. There was one more I could do… A normal fetch quest.
Quest: Find Lost Item (Book Of Geist)
Location: Cave of Demons
Rewards: 10000 Eris Coins; 20000 EXP; Skill Obtain
I could get a skill off this one? Cool! I took that quest and the paper disappeared from my hands. My watch beeped and I turned to leave again. I didn't want to cause too much attention to myself, so I left without saying a word. I wanted to get started on my Quests for the day. The kill quest made me curious… Just how giant are we talking about? I went behind the building and checked my watch. A screen pops up out of the watch and it showed the main screen with NEW next to most of the options. The first one I clicked was Perks, which was interesting. I didn't have anything attached to that option… Did something update when I got my registration? When the Perks screen appeared again, I was shocked… Because there were 3 perks here! As well as something called… SUPER SOUL OPTIONS?! WHAT?!
Perks Obtained!
Perk 1: Hybrid Warrior. Due to being changed into a hybrid Saiyan, you have untapped potential. Once you start going, you can only go higher than where you were before. 20% increase to all stats when in battle and 50% increase when enraged.
Perk 2: Newbie Adventurer. Now that you are part of a guild, you are on your way to saving this world. Also, when you accept Quests you have a 50% chance of getting some money for food and supplies before the quest. When you finish your Quest, your rewards have a 20% chance of being upped in value.
Perk 3: Barter Beginner. You have received stuff from your Xenoverse 2 save file. You can start a small business of selling your wares and earn money on the side. When you do start your business, you can earn about 10% more for your wares.
Ohh… These sound good. They might have a chance of getting better with time. Now, the Super Soul Options. Why wasn't this in the Customized Option? I clicked on it and it showed one Super Soul active.
Super Soul: Power Pole, Extend! Increases the damage of Power Pole by XL (20%)
Oh, Kid Goku's Super Soul. The Raid Quest Super Soul that I managed to get before I died. I was practicing with that Super Soul for a while in-game when my mom asked me to go get some groceries. Man, I just realized… My mom is probably worried about me. I should mention that it's just me and my mom… Dad is out of the picture. He left when I was about 4 and left us high and dry for another woman. Mom went through depression for a few years before bouncing back and made up for missing 2 more years of my life. It was rough growing up… Now, Mom will be all alone. I grew a bit depressed before lifting my head up. I couldn't feel down… Because I know she will be okay. Me, I will move forward for her. I sighed and looked at the other options that had NEW listed next to it. I checked the Quests option and it showed the Quests that I had accepted already. The last one was Skills… And, I had learned 2 new ones.

Oh… So, that's new. Looks like my charge Skills are still there. And, I can level them up the more I use them. Same goes for Meditation. I wonder how well I can get these stats leveled up. I nodded my head and walked off for my destination.
-Scene Skip; Plains-
Quest: Kill 15 Giant Frogs in 7 Days
I arrived at my destination and stretched my body out. I pulled out the Power Pole with my left hand and spun it at my left side, readying myself for battle. The Quest read that the Giant Frogs in this area tend to screw around with the farm life in this area and eat the goats that reside here. Gross, but kinda interesting in a way… The Frogs here act different than the ones in my world. I scanned the large grassy plain for any of the large Frogs and spotted one about a few yards away from me to the right, chasing a bunch of goats. I wonder how long can the Power Pole can extend. I mean, it did connect Korin's Tower and Kami's Lookout in Dragon Ball onward, so it should theoretically stretch a long ways. Let's give this a try… I held it out in front of me long ways and lined it up to make sure it would hit the frog as it chased the goats.
"Okay… POWER POLE, EXTEND! " I yelled and the pole extends a long way and stops in front of the frog. It hops into the pole and smashed its face into the pole full force, making it halt its progress. Wow, that worked! For some reason, though… It looked like I was surrounded in a white circle of aura when I yelled out Power Pole, Extend. Ahh… So, it still works that way. Sometimes in-game on Xenoverse 2, the Super Souls activate when a certain condition is met. In this instance, when I used the Power Pole… My Super Soul activated and did a lot of damage to the frog. It fell back and laid there limply on its back. I got a notification on my watch and saw some numbers generate from the frog. It looked like EXP… I checked my watch and saw that I had gained a level from that. My EXP yield, or whatever you call it, was kinda shallow… Like really low for some reason. Maybe another thing I retained from my save file… Since the early levels are really shallow. The later level yields are gonna be a nightmare since they are extremely steep. I had gained 200 EXP from that… Bringing me up a level. I will check my level after I complete my task for the day. I wanted to kill a few Frogs before heading out on my fetch quest. I knew I had plenty of time before this quest expires… So, it shouldn't be a problem. This was a beginner's quest, after all. Then, I heard thuds behind me and I saw a pink Giant Frog hopping towards me. I clenched my right fist and waited. A blue aura surrounded my hand as the frog got closer to me.
"Come and get your dinner, ya big ugly wart! Riot Javelin!" I launched Bardock's signature Ki attack at the frog's stomach, making it stop in its tracks. The blue Ki orb went through the frog's stomach, making blood and Guts explode everywhere. I jumped back a few feet and stopped as the frog fell over, dead. Some numbers generated from the frog and I had gained another level. Cool! Then, 3 more Frogs hopped over to my direction. I turned to face them… But, out of nowhere… A long tongue grabs me from behind and wraps around my body. Crap! I was distracted by the ones in front that I didn't notice the one behind me. The one behind me had horns on its head, signaling that this one was different. A screen appeared in front of me and scanned the horned frog.

No read on his stats? That don't sound good. Poison and Paralysis? I needed to get this huge ass fucker's tongue off of me before I get into serious trouble. No choice, then… Wonder how far I can take it.
" KAIO-KEN!" I called and a red aura exploded around my body. I pushed the gross appendage off of my body and leaped out of the way. I landed several feet away from it and the incoming Frogs. I wiped the gross slime that the tongue was covered in off of my body and shuddered at the cold sensation on my skin. Definitely gonna need a bath after this. I needed a plan since I was not expecting the leader to show up out of nowhere. Right then, I noticed something in the far distance… Rather, someone. It was a girl with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail above her head, racing towards the king frog with sword raised. I swear to God, I can't explain it… But, she missed her target by literally whooshing past him with her sword swung past the frog. I could tell she was blushing, too… So, I needed to help her before the frog grabs her and tries to eat her. I charge ahead and coat my hands in bright orange Ki. The king frog shoots his tongue at her and I reappeared beside her and grab the appendage with both hands. I let out a yell and pull that fucket towards me. He was sent flying towards me full speed as I let go of the tongue.
"Eat this! Super Dragon Fist! " I yelled as I launched myself at its stomach and delivered a hard right hook into its gut, following up with a swift roundhouse kick, and finishing with a downward drilling left hook. The king frog crashed to the ground and laid there for a second as I landed on the ground. The girl stood up and looked at me, stunned at my speed and power.
"Are you all right? That was a close one, huh?" I told her and she nods her head, "Intros come after the battle. Watch my back! I got the boss!"
"Right!" She said and I ran at the boss as she went to face the other 3 incoming Frogs. The king frog got back up and I brought out my screen to turn on BGM.

I swiped the screen away and brought out Tapion's Sword from my side, holding it in my right hand. I leaped into the air, sword raised, and the frog shot out his tongue at me again. I kicked off the tongue and went straight for his head.
"Shining Slash!" I yelled as I drove my sword into its head, making it scream in pain and blood to shoot out of its head. I was hit by the spray of blood as I held onto my sword tightly. I pulled the sword out and held out my left hand down to his head.
"And, this too! Meteor Burst! " I yelled and fired a large purple beam into its head, incinerating it from head to toe. I had killed the king and my watch beeped again, letting me know I got EXP for that and had gained about 5 levels from that. I even got a skill from that!
Skill Obtained! Sudden Storm
Wait, that's another Turles move! Sweet! I looked back and saw the girl still in battle with the other 3 frogs… Well, I say battle. But, it looks like she is getting tongued by the frogs. I blinked in confusion as to why she let that happen. Then, I saw her face… And, I immediately understood. She had a pleasure filled look on her face. She's a masochist… Now, I have a weird feeling that I know why she missed in the first place. I held out my left hand again and concentrated.
" Sudden Storm! " I called and fired off about 15 Ki missiles at the frogs. 5 missiles each hit their target and killed the 3 frogs on contact. The girl got to her feet and sighed as she wiped the slime off of her body. I switched off Kaio-Ken and sighed as I was exhausted. I pulled out a Senzu Essence Capsule and clicked it and injected into my side. I was instantly brought back to full health and stretched my arms out in front of me.
"Okay, that wasn't so hard. So, wanna explain who you are and what the hell that was?" I said to the girl and she cleared her throat.
"My name is… Darkness. I am a Crusader, and I am also a masochist," She said as she looked at me. Well, I figured… So, she's a Crusader? Aren't Crusaders very good with Swords? And, don't they have shields? I mean, she is a masochist so not having a shield makes sense. I stopped the BGM and looked back at her.
"Well, my name is James. Nice to meet you," I told her, holding out my hand and she grabs it, shaking it. Okay, I have to admit this… She had an IRON GRIP. But, since I am a hybrid Saiyan… It didn't hurt much. Still, that's pretty impressive. She's pretty strong… So, why did she miss?
"Okay. Why did you miss the frog?" I asked her and she blushed as she looked at me.
"Well, I have very low accuracy when it comes to battling. I tend to miss all the time… But, my strength and defense make up for it. I have very high defense and strength for my class," She said and I raised an eyebrow. If that were true… Then, she would practically be a nerfed super soldier. Why limit yourself?
"I don't get it… Why have low accuracy and high strength? That kinda doesn't help your case," I said as we walked through the field.
"It's more… Well, it's complicated," Darkness said and I sighed as I looked at her. I think her masochism is the reason why she has horrible accuracy. I think I can figure out why, too…
"Is it because you hate causing harm to others?" I told her and she looked down, "Yeah, I don't think that is a good policy in this world. Eventually, you will have to harm an individual. I have no problem with it since I know they can't harm anyone else. But, I don't go around killing indiscriminately, like a murderer. Nah, that's where I draw the line in the sand."
"It's… Not easy," she said and I scratched the back of my head, "Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being in pain… But, even I have a limit."
"I get ya. For now, let's save the rest for later. The frogs can wait until tomorrow. I need to finish this fetch quest today," I said and pulled out the cave fetch quest to look at it, "Hmm… Wanna come along? I could use an ally." Darkness looked at me and thought about it.
"Why not? I can use the companionship," Darkness smiled as she nods her head. I chuckled and my watch beeped out of nowhere. I looked at it and so did Darkness.
"Uhh… I have to take this. Excuse me," I told her cautiously and stepped a few feet away and opened up the menu. My Party option was flashing as well as my Level option. I clicked on the Level option first and it pulled up my stats.

Oh. It added Darkness to my party, interesting. I feel like that could have some implications, but whatever. Darkness was leaning over my shoulder, looking at the screen.
"What is this weird thing you have? How does it know my level and class?" Darkness asked me and I jumped back a few feet.
"Jeez, don't do that! You scared me… Look, it's hard to explain. I am not fron around here, as you can tell," I told her as I rubbed my forehead, "I am on a mission to kill the Demon King and I need to get stronger." Darkness raised an eyebrow at that and smiled.
"You are going to kill the Demon King? Don't you need some dependable people on your side to do that?" Darkness asked me as we kept walking.
"Of course… But, that won't be as easy as I thought. At the moment, I need to do a lot of Quests to get where I need to be," I told her, "With my abilities, I need to do a lot in order to even attempt that. Get my point?" She nods her head and stops in front of me.
"I will help you. Whatever it takes, I will do it! Even if I have to… Throw myself… Into the fray.." She said with a pant in her voice and I rubbed the back of my head. Well, for starters… I really need to have her work on her aim. Because, not being able to hit anything in front of her is embarrassing. If she can get her accuracy up to my level, that should be a great starting point. Otherwise, she would have the Stormtrooper aim. And, NO ONE should have that type of aim.
"Okay, well… I need you to work on your aim first, Darkness. I can't… I repeat, I CAN'T, allow you to have that type of aim. I know you have a valid point for having that type of accuracy, but in a life or death situation… That will matter greatly especially if you wanna live," I told her and she blushed while looking at me, "It's not that I don't mind you helping me. It's just that if you intend to help me, you need to be able to do something other than being a tank."
"I understand. Let us embark on our journey, then!" Darkness called and we went to our next destination, Cave of Demons.
-Scene Skip; Cave of Demons; A Few Minutes Later-
Darkness and I arrived at our destination, a large dark cave that was over 50 feet tall. Darkness looked on in intrigue at the large cave entrance and I couldn't help but feel nervous. This place is really unnerving and I don't want to linger too long in this place. I sighed and walked into the cave entrance, holding up my left hand and emitting a yellow Ki orb from my palm. Darkness stuck to my right side as we walked into the cave. I pulled out the Quest paper and looked at it to get a look at the item. It looked like a hardcover book that had a disfigured face on the front and its leather cover looked like stitched together skin. Ugh, now I am kinda unnerved by that. You know, this looks so much like the Book Of Shadows from Corpse Party. Weird, hub? I distinctly remember that book having a skin like leather covering. I put the paper away in my Quest space and kept walking in silence, not sure what to say.
"Hey, James… Do you know anything about the item we are searching for?" Darkness asked me and I shook my head no, "I am just wondering."
"Okay, I have no idea why I am taking on this quest. I just needed the money," I said and she looked at me.
"Makes sense. Well, let us press onwards," Darkness said and I looked ahead. Out of nowhere, a large earthquake shook the cave. Darkness and I fell to our knees, unsure on what the cause of the earthquake was. I looked around and saw a large orc-like beast standing about double the size of the giant Frogs we had faced earlier was walking towards us, holding a large brown and red club in its right hand as it glared at us.
"What the fuck?! An orc?! Are you kidding me?! What are these high level monsters appearing on my first day of questing?!" I yelled in annoyance as I looked up at the orc. Darkness looked at me in shock as she heard me say that.
"Your first day?! Oh, my…" Darkness said in shock and I nodded my head as my screen pops up in front of me to scan the orc.

Shit, he's double Darkness's level! And, he looks the type to not let his prey go… I could tell by the hungry look in his evil glowing dark red eyes. I grimaced at his glare and Darkness shuddered and panted under his gaze.
"Heel, girl! We need to get serious, here! If I get killed here, you will too! Focus!" I told her as I grabbed her shoulders and stood in front of her. She shook her head and snapped out of her masochistic state to move me out of the way. The Grand Orc swung his club at Darkness and nailed her right in the midsection, knocking her away into the wall on the left. She fell forward and landed on her hands and knees, coughing and holding her now bruised stomach. I ran over to her and checked on her and she groaned in pain, looking up at me. She gave me a thumbs up and got to her feet slowly.
"Good… Anything broken?"
"No… Just knocked the wind out of me. I am more durable than I look," Darkness smiled as she shook her head. I pulled out a Senzu Essence Capsule and clicked it, looking up at Darkness as she looked at my Capsule as it turned into a needle.
"This is for emergencies only… Here, I can tell you lost a bit of health," I told her and grabbed her arm, "Just hold still." I stabbed her arm and she hissed, shaking in pleasure at the pain in her arm from the shot.
"It's a Senzu Essence Capsule. It Heals broken bones and internal injuries, like internal bleeding and ruptured organs. It cannot heal Status Ailments, like curses or poison. I have a limited amount of them, so I can't spam them. I can make more, but I need the right ingredients. I will tell you more later, when we get out of here," I told her and removed the needle from her arm. The needle Capsule disappeared into thin air and the Grand Orc charged at us.
"Listen, you need to focus on defense. Act as a decoy for me for a little while… I can heal you 2 more times, but that's it. Try not to get too badly damage while I prepare an attack that can one shot him." Darkness looked at me as I pulled up my watch and went searching through my Super Souls for the right one.
"Whatever you can do, I can hold him off. Just do not take too long," she said and charged at the Grand Orc. I frantically scrolled through my Super Souls for the right one while Darkness tanked all of the Grand Orc's attacks like they were nothing. Which was weird… Did he just catch her off guard the first time? Because she is handling him just fine now… She must have a lot of stamina for facing someone like him. Finally, after a minute of scrolling… I found the Super Soul I was searching for. I switched out Power Pole, Extend! for Piccolo's Super Soul, Sorry For The Wait. You Ready?

I brought my right index and middle fingers to my forehead and waited as a green and yellow electrical aura surrounded my fingertips. Darkness skids across the ground as the Grand Orc stomps towards her. She stood up straight and wiped the sweat from her brow and glanced at me as I charged Piccolo's signature attack from my fingertips.
"What is that type of magic?! I never seen that before!" Darkness said in shock as I gritted my teeth at the concentration that I needed to undergo to use this attack.
"Almost… Done. Hold him… Still," I grunted as I looked back at her. She narrowed her eyes and raced at the Grand Orc, grabbing onto his left leg and holding him in place. He tried to shake Darkness off of his leg, but he couldn't even move his leg. I brought my fingertips away from my forehead and pointed them at the Grand Orc's head. Just like when I had used the Power Pole earlier, the white aura appeared and disappeared around me just as I yelled out…
"Haaaa! SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!" There was a thin spiral yellow and green beam that shot out of my index and middle fingers on my right hand. It raced at the Grand Orc and pierced through his head, shooting blood and brain matter out of the back of his head and onto the wall behind him. He fell back onto the wall behind him as Darkness lets go of his leg. I shook my hand as I felt the aftersparks from the attack course through my arm.
"Geez, that smarts. The show never mentioned that happening," I said as Darkness puts a hand on my arm. My watch beeped as some numbers flashed above the dead Grand Orc's body. I had gained a lot of EXP from that kill, netting me another 5 levels and getting Darkness about 3 levels. I also learned 2 new skills from that!

YES! I got that skill on my arsenal now! Wonder what Monster Crush is? Probably another Turles skill… I put away the screen and looked over at the Orc's body. It had something attached to its loin cloth on the side. It was… It was the Book of Geist that the Quest asked for! I raced over to the dead Orc and snatched the book off of its body, holding it in my hands. Then, a dark aura surrounds my hands as I looked closer at the book. Darkness raced over to me as I tried to look away. Then, a deep and demonic voice pierced into my head.
"You, who hold the Book Of Geist in your hands… Fall into the pits of power and absorb the Dark King's essence. Use it to kill the Demon King," the voice pounded in my head as the dark aura surrounds my body and engulfs it completely. Darkness's voice sounded so far away as I blacked out.

-Welcome to a Konosuba story that I wanted to do for a good bit. Yes, I made myself half-Saiyan again… But, I can't help it. I love being Half-Saiyan! Anyways, I also had Aqua make me half-Saiyan instead of Eris. Reason why is because I will be making Aqua a little more useful in this story. Also, BE WARNED. Despite loving Megumin and Aqua, there will be a bit of Aqua-bashing and Megumin-bashing in this story. Why, you ask? Well, it's this version of me has a low tolerance to stupidity. Which means that he will not be taking Aqua's BS in this story as well as Megumin only using Explosion magic. He will be VERY critical on his assessments on these two when he sees them. You may ask, what about Darkness? Well, that is gonna be because he is spending more time with Darkness in this world than the others in the party. However, he will not be as harsh since he found out early on that she is a masochist and will get nowhere on scolding her. Next, the pairing? OC/Darkness… I don't see this pairing enough in the stories I read. I mean, I do like Kazuma/Darkness… But, I prefer him with Aqua just to see them bicker. Comedy gold. The next thing, this is a semi-Gamer fic. Some elements of the Gamer will show up here, such as skills learned, the Quest descriptions, and stat distributions. And, lastly… This will be mainly Konosuba… But, there will be a couple of differences, like having crossover characters in the story, other OCs being reincarnated into this story, more enemies, a lot more character development on our main canonical cast and James, and finally… Time will be more drastic. What I mean is there will be a few chapters of long months. I mean, the time from Episode 1 and 2 is a whole month of Kazuma and Aqua doing jobs to gain money. So, the next chapter will be the whole month of James and Darkness training to get stronger and accepting Quests. That means, they will be stronger than canon Darkness when she met up with the party. Reason why… I think it would be better if Darkness actually was a force to be reckoned with in the long run. Also, there will be 2 separate parties since Darkness and I will NOT be part of Kazuma's party officially. That's right, Darkness will be out of the party this time around and be part of my party. That will have some big changes going forward… With all that said, I will post stats of my party at the end of every 3 chapters. But, I will have stats for me and Darkness at the end of this chapter.
