Chapter 1: Aftermath
As the Dawn rose over the smoky, broken and charred remains of the Premier School of Magic called Hogwarts where a final battle had taken place just a few hours before. A lone figure stood on the terrace 40 Meters above the school's wrecked courtyard. The broken face of the school's massive clock behind him Harry Potter pondered what had taken place.
Looking out at the Lake and valley slowly becoming more familiar as the Sun was rising, yet also seeing all the damage the battle had wrought. A weary and tired Harry Potter thought of his friends, both alive and now gone as well as the hard work that all of them who were left had ahead of them.
'Lupin... Tonks... Moody... even Snape, all dead.' was all that ran through the head of a very guilt-ridden and exhausted Harry Potter. As he surveyed the carnage... he sighed to himself 'It's my fault, my responsibility.'
As Harry was pondering his immediate future, down in what remained of the Main hall after Harry and Voldemort had their final fight, the injured and deceased were gathered in different sides of the large hall. Those that weren't injured were either being treated and looked after as the ICW (International Confederation of Wizards) had send a Medical Teams. They were gathered on one side of the hall resting or sleeping in conjured beds as families were Mourning on the other side of the hall for those that didn't make it.
The ICW also sent several Strike teams to the castle Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and several other Wizarding Places to keep the peace as the provisional Government was organized for now until a future election of a new government was installed. As well as to resurrect the system of Justice to deal with all those left who deserve that system and what consequences they earned, whether Marked Death Eater or not! [I wouldn't want to be Dolores Umbridge right now! ;-)]
A weary Luna Lovegood was sitting next to a dazed and exhausted Neville Longbottom as several Healers were making the rounds when Luna was given a vision unlike any she had had before.
She saw herself, Harry Potter, and Hermione Granger in a strange place she herself had ever seen before. A place with a strange stone arch which seemed to show hazy movie pictures in what seemed like it was projected in a fog, odd and different places she had never seen before. She also saw several beings surrounding the arch with clothing that to her was unusual even with her knowledge of Non magical dress styles. Some looked like her, some had an odd Blue hue to their skin, while some had some rather odd features though still had human features. But what really startled her were what she would have said where High Elves in flowing robes with the most serious looks on their faces. Then the vision began to change to one lone dark-haired human looking male in a red and black one-piece uniform of sorts. He smiled then winked before Luna seem to wake up from her vision as Neville, Susan and Hannah were looking at her oddly.
After a few moments Luna smiled up and asked if they had seen where Harry went. They had a confused look on their faces, then Neville remembered seeing Harry walk up the main staircase.
They all knew both the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor towers were damaged which said a lot about why everyone was in the main hall. But Luna remembered that one part of the Building was still relatively intact!
She thanked the trio and made her way to the stairs to find the wayward hero. She knew from her 3 years knowledge of Harry that he more than most that he would take the blame even when he wasn't the one to blame.
So, Luna made her way to the bell tower and her quarry who at the time was thinking guilt ridden thoughts. But, as she was climbing those steps another pair of eyes spotted her, another who also cared for the same Moody and caring boy.
Hermione Granger had walked the Weasley family as they bore the litter of the lone casualty to the front doors of the Castle. With a promise to go to their home later that day she bid tearful goodbyes to them. When she finished with Ron Weasley her sometimes best friend, she simply scanned her eyes upwards where they both saw Harry Potter on the terrace in front of the Clock looking outwards beyond the courtyard below him where they stood.
"I'll make sure he's OK and bring him with me to the Borrow. Will you let your Mom know?" Hermione said.
"Sure, Mione Thanks for that Mom will definitely want him with us now Ya know!" Ron said sadly.
She simply nodded hugged him in one of her patented tight hugs and made her way back towards the main entrance and saw the slim Ravenclaw making her way up and realized who she was headed to. For a moment she thought Luna would be enough for Harry to talk to, but then remembered how Harry can be with his self-doubt and she followed her school mate up to See what she could do to help Harry too.
Hogwarts Belltower Terrace
As the Sun rose more flooding the remains of the Castle proper Harry was almost sleepwalking trying to stay awake enough to not fall of the overhang above the courtyard. He finally saw that there were 2 benches still in one piece that at one time were wrapped around the outside of the bell tower. As he made his way to the nearest bench Luna Lovegood walked up and sat town just as he did which even in his exhausted state nearly jumped over the edge. Luna caught his arm and calmed him down.
Harry Potter was at the same time, angry, befuddled, and confused. 'How the hell did she do that'? Harry said nervously. "Well, the Wagspurts told me you were up here so here I am Harry Potter. "Luna said in her standard Large eyes look. Though Harry could see she was just as tired as he was.
As they were speaking Hermione had quietly moved behind them next to the wall where the bench was but out of eyesight and covertly listened in as they continued their conversation.
"Harry, I do not see why you should be feeling any guilt with this whole final battle business as you simply did what you always do try to save and protect those you care for so" She wangled her finger to him. "No, it's not your fault but Voldemort! Remember that Harry James." Luna, the mystic one of his friends, with her gray eyes, was piercing his thoughts and mind. Knowing she always said the truth especially to him. She seemed to always know what he was thinking as if she could read his mind. 'Maybe she can!' He thought.
"You should know from me and the rest of us to stop feeling guilty and know you did all you could!" She then finished with a strong nod her radish ear rights still on her bounced as she did.
Harry looked at her with an open mouth stare completely perplexed on how the quirky girl had read him so well. Hermione almost squeaked but kept her composure knowing Luna had gotten Harry's mood right. She then stepped into their view and said "She's right Harry. Tom Riddle is the one person who's at fault here, not you." Harry closed his eyes taking into his mind what both girls said as Hermione continued. "When he killed Moaning Myrtle fifty years ago, to this final battle he was the one solely responsible not only for those who died, but for your life and your pain. Please take what we said to heart Harry as you know how rarely Luna and I agree on something." Hermione sat next to him behind him using her hand to rub his back, while he felt Luna nodding as she snuggled into his shoulder on his other side.
Harry Sighed. "Oh, alright you two I'll try not go all depressive and angst ridden on you." Hermione patted his back as Luna swung her arm around his, trapping both his hands between them.
But before either could say anything else Luna then explained her vision to them. Not only what she saw but that both Harry and Hermione were in it.
To Harry it felt like he had another prophesy to deal with on his weary shoulders and all of it from his young blonde friend of his. He got up to let her know what he thought of her vision when they all heard a rip then a POP across from them on the other side of the Clock terrace. There in seconds Harry, Luna, and then Hermione, all had wands pointed and ready as they took sight of the new stranger.
He seemed near their age with brown hair and a little taller than Harry, except for the Red and black uniform who had his arms crossed on his chest smiling and with a unique gold and silver badge. He was leaning on the stone wall opposite them, then pushed himself off the wall and walked towards them with no wand in his hand. He waved his hand, and they all froze in place with only their eyes moving around and a sense of dread building within them. They were completely at this stranger's mercy and the look of mirth didn't bode well for them within their minds.
Finally, the stranger spoke. "Oh, don't worry your little heads I'm not here to hurt you, I just froze you in place for a reason." He then pointed to himself. if I wanted to erase you from existence I could with but a thought."
He saw they were still listening smiled and continued "I am here to ask you for a favor!" and as they looked still frozen, their eyebrows would have shot up if they could. Still, they had no choice but to listen.
Then he finally said "I am Quincy Janeway or as my good old Dad calls me Q2 or Junior! "
There I'll think this is a great stopping point as I have to get to that next scene soon right!
