Hey all.
So, last time, we ended off the GMG Arc and now we begin the last Arc of this Story, which will happen at the same time (roughly) as the Tartaros Arc.
I do not intend on including the Alvarez Arc in this story as it is just too damn long for me. Also, I need to start finishing up some stories so I can start working on some of my older stories that haven't been updated in a while (such as this one), and since this one is the closest to completion, next to my Shadow Fox story, I will focus on these two next.
There is more info at the bottom for this, but I had intended on making this last Arc a 2 chapter affair, however I decided against it.

On with the Story.
Chapter 25: Endgame Part 1
Naru stopped as Erza stepped into her path.
"Erza…" she sighed.
"I am coming with you." Erza said sternly, leaving no room for discussion.
Under normal circumstances, that is.
But these were far from normal circumstances.
"I cannot allow you to do that, Erza." Naru said. She didn't need to turn her head to know that the rest of Fairy Tail was standing behind her. "I can't allow anyone here to get involved in this."
"Even if it's a direct order from me?" Makarov growled.
"Even then." Naru said, her hair casting a shadow over her head. "None of you are ready for what needs to be done. None of you know what a true War is."
She continued onwards, immobilizing Erza with a condensed blast of KI from her.
"I pray that none of you will ever find yourself in a situation, where taking a life is the only option available."
"Wait." Naru stopped when Erza grabbed her sleeve. "I am still going wURK!"
Naru punched Erza in the stomach, knocking her out.
"…" Naru didn't say anything. Her tears did all the talking needed.
She pulled out a few kunai and threw them at the lights of the corridor behind the doorway, bathing it in shadows, shadows into which she silently disappeared.
1 month later
Danzo was in his secret Office, reading a report on one of the teams in Iwagakure, stating that the third Tsuchikage had abdicated and his Granddaughter had taken up the mantle.
He was about to issue the order to have the agents in Iwa assassinate her and cause a Civil War when the alarm blared across Konoha.
"Danzo-sama." One of his operatives appeared before him.
"Report." Danzo said.
"The Kyuubi…The Kyuubi has appeared in front of the North Gate!"
Earlier
Naru was pissed, no, she was beyond that.
Upon landing in Nami, she came across a cell of Root ANBU hiding out in Gato's old Manshion, which had been abandoned ever since she helped liberate Nami from his grasp.
She beat them up and sealed them before going through the pages scattered around the table, and found one more reason to hate Danzo. Apparently that Man was planning on desecrating the Ruins of Uzushiogakure, and find any and all secrets that may still be hidden on that island, with Nami no Kuni being a staging point for that operation.
But there was nothing else of note unfortunately.
Her journey back to Konoha was uneventful so she went through the plan with Kurama.
She would infiltrate Konoha and find Danzo whilst he caused a distraction.
Which bring us to the current point in time…
With Tsunade and Kakashi
Tsunade was taking a well deserved sip of sake, having just helped complete the budget re-allocations after a Civilian Council member was found to have altered it, moving half the funds meant for the Academy to Businesses owned and led by various members of the Civilian Council.
Just as the alcoholic beverage touched her lips, the glasses of her office were shattered and both she and Kakashi sprang into action as the loud roar reached their ears.
"DANZO!" they looked to see the Kyuubi standing at the north Gate, and It. Looked. Pissed. "IT IS TIME FOR REVENGE FOR THOSE SLAIN!"
Tsunade's eyes widened when the Biju began attacking the walls, cracking them with his first charge.
"Think it is too late to pull Danzo out from whatever hole he has hidden himself in?" Kakashi asked, a vein popping on his forhead. He was looking forward to a nice Evening Dinner with Anko, but now that plan flew out the window. "ANBU, find Danzo. I will be heading over to talk to the Kyuubi."
Another roar from the Kyuubi blocked out the response from the 4 ANBU agents who disappeared to fulfil the order.
Kakashi and Tsunade meanwhile left to talk to the Kyuubi and find Jiraya respectively.
Kakashi arrived just as the Kyuubi smashed a hole in the Wall.
"Kyuubi-san, please calm yourself." He called out, hoping that his time with Naru had calmed the Biju enough to at least be willing to communicate.
"I will calm down once that piece of shit Danzo is dead and buried alongside his illegal ANBU operations." The Kyuubi told him. "He has crossed a line he never should have approached and now he WILL suffer for it!"
Meanwhile, underneath Konoha
If there was one thing Naru had to give credit to Danzo for, it was that he knew how to lay out a secret base. The thing was a literal 3D Maze, with 4 levels, each level having numerous entrances and exits and a completely different layout of rooms and corridors that are easy to get lost in. thankfully, she knew where most of the entrances were thanks to her last visit and Shadow Clones searching every inch of the complex. And how was she making her way through the maze right now? Whoever said one can't henge into a spider and use that to crawl around?, even using thin ninja-wire to simulate her building a nest as a patrol of Root ANBU walked past her, only sparing her a glance.
Even so, it still took her 30 minutes to make her way towards where she sensed Danzo to be. She arrived at his door just as the alarms went off and moments later, a Root ANBU burst out of the door, only to be met by her Fist which sent him back into the room.
"7 Years ago, I warned you." She said as she entered the room, Danzo turning his head to look at her.
She felt the chakra buildup in his head and immediately sprang into action when Kurama warned her about what he sensed underneath those bandages.
Danzo clicked his tongue when he was forced to dodge a sword slash that would have destroyed his stolen Sharingan, as it was, he still got a cut on his cheek.
"You will be mine, Kyuubi. You, Konoha and all of the World will be mine." He said.
"Not if I have anything to say about it." She countered, before whipping around and cutting though sword, arm and torso of the ANBU who tried to ambush her from behind. Continuing the motion, she sent a wind slash at Danzo, who dodged with relative ease for a man who was probably one of the oldest people in Konoha.
"Even now, my Forces are heading this way." Danzo said, hoping to buy enough time to remove the seal on his prosthetic arm. He knew that he would need it in this fight. "You are no match for the full might of…"
"Bla, bla, bla." Naru interrupted him, before making some clones to take care of the team that was approaching. "You talk too much."
And with that, the battle began…
Above ground, general POV
Kurama was about to bring the wall down when he suddenly stopped, sensing the tremendous build-up of Chakra underneath the Hokage building.
And every Sensor within Konoha also sensed it.
"Hokage." Kurama turned to Kakashi, who had his Sharingan out and ready to do something with it. "My Task here is done. SHE has just found Danzo. Better pray that she doesn't destroy Konoha with what will happen next."
"Hmm?" Kakashi began sweating. "Destroy…"
Suddenly view of the Hokage building was blocked by a massive explosion that erupted from the road right in front of it, debris, dust and ash reaching high into the sky as glass panes shattered from the immense shockwave.
"ooooOOOHHHH SSSSSHHHHHH…." Kakashi said as Kurama disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
Moments Earlier, underground
Danzo grunted as he and Naru exchanged blows, his Wind Blade clashing against Naru's Wind Enhanced Sword.
Newarby, Naru's clones were engaged with the Root ANBU who had come to their Master's aid, but found their way blocked by a trio of extremely powerful clones, whom they initially underestimated, to their cost.
Suddenly, Naru's blade was covered in fire, the fire eating through Danzo's Wind Blade like a knife slicing through water. Danzo tried to dodge, but still received a fatal wound on his neck, the blade cutting through his left carotid artery, forcing him to use up the first of his sacrificial Sharingan he had implanted in his arm.
His injured form faded out of existence, as did the fallen Root Agents at the Clone's feet. They all reappeared behind their respective opponents, with the Root Agents attacking the Clones, who were forced to go on the defensive.
Danzo meanwhile pulled out a sealing tag and tried to attach it to Naru's back, only for a Razor Wind like Armour to appear around her, shredding the tag and cutting his hand.
"Interesting…you have become powerful indeed, Demon." He said.
Naru just turned and regarded him suspiciously. "Seems like I was right in my assumptions all those 14 Years ago."
Danzo didn't move or make any signs of reacting.
"You can't use that Mangekyou Sharingan in your right eye because you can't use it on me." Naru said. "Otherwise, you would have done so already."
Danzo again did not react but on the inside, he was fuming. "And why do you say that?"
"Because I felt you try to take control of my, I felt your chakra enter my system like a Virus. To bad for you, I have the most powerful Anti-Virus, named Kyuubi…and he just let me know that you are not worthy of me using his power to directly combat you." Naru said.
She took a glance along her peripheral vision at his right arm, and saw another Sharingan slowly close…'What the…' she thought, a smirk growing on her face.
"Die, Demon!" an ANBU managed to get past her clones, only see Naru standing in front of his Master one moment, the next, the world was split in two, then everything went black.
Danzo managed to bring his arms up to block Naru's incoming fist, his eyes widening when he felt his Radius and Ulna in both arms be pulverized by the impact, the fist not slowing down as it landed on his ribcage, his ribs and sternum suffering the same fate as his arm bones. He was dead before his feet left the ground.
However, his body faded before it hit the wall, and Naru suddenly felt a wind blade strike her in the back. She barely managed to maneuver her body to avoid Danzo hitting her kidney. Sweeping her arm to the side, she took out that ANBU agent who was in the room with them and forcing Danzo to jump back, despite being outside arms reach.
As Kurama was busy healing the injury, Naru's eyes landed on his arm…3 'eyes' were closed.
"3 down, 7 to go." She said. "Let's get to work then, shall we?"
Danzo flinched at her words, not having expected his secret to be figured out that easily.
"There is a time limit to your technique, each length of time, I estimate about a minute, for each Sharingan, or you dying." Naru continued, before blurring and Danzo momentarily saw his own body before he reappeared to the side. "Correction, 4 down, 6 to go."
Suddenly she sheathed her sword, making Danzo go tense.
Over the course of the next 3 mintues, Danzo Naru toyed with Danzo, making two Eyes close due to the time limit and then followed up by slaying him 3 more times, leaving him with a single eye on his arm.
"Let's take this fight somewhere else, shall we?" she asked suddenly. "Katon: Rasengan" she created a glowing red Rasengan that emitted immense heat.
And so Naru both took out Danzo's 10th Sharingan and opened up a path to the ground surface, one that she quickly followed. Danzo appeared in front of a crowd of people, all of whom were horrified to see his ghostly white arm and the Sharingan in his right eye.
Then Naru landed next to him whilst a platoon's worth of Clones descended into the hole again to finish off the Root ANBU once and for all.
"It's over, Danzo." She calmly said as she approached.
"It is never over. Not whilst I still draw breath, Konoha shall not fall to the likes of you." Danzo stated. "It shall be mine, just like you!"
"It won't come to that." She answered. "My sole Objective here is to end you and your illegal operations once and for all, just as I promised I'd do 7 years ago. With your death, Konoha…no, the Land of Fire and all the Nations on this continent can finally experience a time of peace." She readied her sword by holding it to the side as her eyes hardened.
Danzo growled. He knew that he would not be able to escape her, she was just too fast for him to attempt that. He also knew that he was literally on his last life. One he knew he would most likely not win through conventional means. 'Let's see how you like my final trump card….'
The tension between the two of them, until Naru suddenly attacked, her sword appearing inches from Danzo's throat when a Seal suddenly appeared on his chest.
It took Naru less than a heartbeat to recognize what the seal was, the Reverse Four Symbol Seal.
She jumped back, but it was too late…her arm and her sword were caught up in the Sealing Vortex, making her scream out in pain.
Naru clentched her teeth as she held the stump of her right arm…or what was left of it.
"Ninpo: Shishienjin" she looked to see 4 ANBU form a purple barrier around her and Danzo, with Tsunade standing next to one of the ANBU. Kakashi arrived on the other side before making his way over to her predecessor.
"Why, Naru-chan." she asked.
"His Agents threatened to kill someone close to me." She said, feeling Kurama healing her injury. "My clones should be finishing off his Root for good, so you can go and have a look at all the shit he has down there, in his secret base. I'll…"
"You will not be going anywhere, Demon." The two remaining Elders, Koharu, said with Homura nodding in agreement.
"Unless you want the Kyuubi to be released right here, right now, then shut the fuck up, you Should-Be-Retired old Fucks." Naru snarled, making everyone but the ANBU, Kakashi and Tsuande take a step back, especially since Naru held her hand to her stomach.
"But killing him?" Tsunade asked, indicating Danzo.
"You should know to what lengths he'd go to achieve his plans." Naru said, sighing as she closed her eyes. "He was to be the last life I will ever take, knowing that I have done this world an immeasurable godsend by ending his miserable Warmongering Life."
Tsunade looked at her, before sending a team of her ANBU down the hole to see what they find.
"You better hope that there is some incriminating stuff down there, sis." Sasuke said as he arrived with Sakura in tow. "Otherwise we will be forced to take you down."
"I know, Sasuke." She said with resignation. "I know."
Minutes later, one of the ANBU returned, carrying a scroll that he hastily gave to Tsunade, who smashed the ground when she read it.

Some weeks later
Naru sighed as she shouldered her pack. The last few weeks had been a clusterfuck of issues, mainly from the Elders and the Civilian Council, and Naru catching up with old friends, including Gaara, Temari and Kankuro, who travelled from Suna when they heard that Naru was in town…literally.
And then there was Lee, who in his exuberance challenged Naru to a Spar claiming that her Handicap was just a sign of her Youth…Well, when he refused to shut up about 'Youth this' and 'Youth that', she literally Slapped him all the way into the Hokage Monument. The line of Shinobi who wanted a rematch with her suddenly and suspiciously became only 1/10th of what it was mere moments before that point.
"You sure of your choice?" Tsunade asked. "You could always settle down here, have a proper family here."
Naru smiled and embraced her Grandmother, who had attached her new Right arm just days earlier.
If there was one positive thing that Danzo left behind, it was the Blueprints for bio-prosthetics using Hashirama Senju's DNA…Kakashi and Tsunade estimated that their overall manpower could increase by about 20% after giving Shinobi who were forced into retirement due to amputations a second chance.
"You forget, I already have a new Family. And you are always welcome to come and visit." Naru said. "You, and all those I care about here in the Village." She looked at the members of the former Teams 7, 8, 9 and 10, including their Senseis, the Konohamaru Corpse, the Ichiraku's, Gaara and his siblings, and a fair few other individuals with whom she had formed a good relationship with during the last few weeks. "Besides, I am still slated to be the next Leader of my Guild. I can't turn that responsibility down, now can I? Especially since I have now vowed to never take a life again?"
"Even with all the Paperwork?" Kakashi asked with a smirk, expecting her to scowl.
"Why should I bother with Paperwork?" Naru asked, innocently. "Isn't that why Lord Second created Shadow Clones?"
Gaara, Kakashi and Tsunade looked at her, as did all the Clan Heads who were present.
They would later all deny, to their Doctors and to everyone else, that they walked up to the walls and begin smashing their head against it, screaming out things like "Baka!", "How could I forget Shadow Clones!" and "Off course that is the Answer!" over and over again, then leave to get wasted and celebrate loudly in the streets until annoyed Housewives came out of their homes wielding Frying Pans, Rolling Pins and various other Kitchen Utensils telling them to 'be quiet or else'.
All except for Gaara, who it turns out, cannot hold his liquor and promptly fell asleep after one sip of Sake. Matsuri sighed and simply carried him to their Hotel Room.
Epilog, Where one Belongs
Magnolia was busy rebuilding after the rather disastrous attack by the last member of the Ballam Alliance, Tartaros.
Fairy Tail had fought hard and on numerous occasions it seemed as though they would loose the Guild War, but they grit their teeth as they always do and fought on, finally prevailing when Natsu and Gray managed to finally defeat Mard Geer, the Guildmaster of Tartaros, who had revealed that he had specifically waited for Naru to leave Fiore so he could move in and eliminate a thorn in their side.
Anyway, the Fairy Tail mages where busy helping the Townsfolk to rebuild Magnolia, deciding to refrain from rebuilding their Guild Hall until after the town was finished, though they did open a makeshift Bar which was manned by Mirajane and Lisanna, with Laxus and Natsu spending quite a lot of their free time there, chatting with their Girlfriends. Yes, you heard that right. Girlfriends.
Natsu and Lisanna had been an Item ever since shortly after Lisanna returned from Edolas and Naru blackmailed her into going out with Natsu, though neither of them have come to regret it.
The surprise comes in the form of Laxus and Mirajane, the latter having grown tired of being the only member of the 'Monster Triad' (aka Erza, Naru and herself) who wasn't in a relationship with anyone…and Laxus was quite the sweet gentleman once you got through the Hardcore shell he wore around himself.
So when Laxus began suffering from the Demon Particles that he inhaled to save his team and an entire town some time before the Battle for Magnolia, she came to him with a proporsition: she'd try to remove the Demon Particles inside his Body and in return he'd take her out on a Date (to which he grumbled something about troublesome Women and immediately felt as though there was a Clan out there somewhere that felt sympathetic to his cause).
In the end she did finally manage to remove the particles and the two went out on a date in Clovis in order to keep some semblance of privacy on their date, even though basically the entire guild saw what happened because Happy, Panther Lily and Carla all followed the pair with a set of Video Cameras which broadcasted the Date Live to Magnolia. Everyone was surprised to see Laxus's gentlemanly side and Mirajanes friendly personality as she not once made a threatening comment to Laxus and he treated her like a person, not a mere 'fellow guild member'.
Of course, when they returned to Magnolia, they rampaged through the Guildmembers because they caught Happy with a Fish and learned what happened from him…you get the point…
"Master Makarov!" everyone turned to see Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus arrive in the Town Square. "We heard you could use some help." Lyon said.
"Provisional Master, please." Makarov grunted. "I am still waiting for my replacement to return." He looked up at the assembled Mages. "And a helping hand would be greatly appreciated."
"Don't be surprised if Lamia Scale and Blue Pegasus repair more of Magnolia than Fairy Tail will!" Master Bob said with a chuckle.
"Indeed. We couldn't beat you at the GMG, we damn well will beat you in this!" Ooba Babasama said, twirling her fingers and sending two unfortunate members for a spin.
"You sure about that?" a new voice piped up. "Because you will eat those words soon enough." They turned to see Naru arrive, her right arm covered in bandages, making some of them worried until she caught Erza, who crashed into her, with said arm in a hug and a quick Kiss.
"Guild Masters not allowed." Ooba said quickly, pointing a shacking finger at her, but Naru merely smirked.
"Not a Guild Master just yet, Old Hag. Still need to make those Vows and collect the Mantle. Taju Kage Bunshin no Jutsu" Naru said.
Whilst Naru's Clones went and soundly made Ooba eat her words, the original Naru went to talk with Makarov and Erza, telling them what happened whilst also telling them of the Vow she took.
Next Week
Magnolia was packed full of Mages from all over Fiore as well as a group of Nobles as well as Princess Hisui herself arrived to witness Naru's "Coronation" as Guild Master…
Which just ended with Makarov passing on his Staff to her, symbolizing him handing over the Mantle of Leadership to her, before the two exchanged some lines that turned more and more into them roasting each other before a brawl erupted between the two of them.
The onlookers could only sweatdrop at the common occurrence of 2 members of Fairy Tail brawling with one another. Those who knew Fairy Tail knew that the guild just loves to brawl with each other after all.
"And he tells US to stop fighting?" Natsu grumbled looking annoyed. Gray, Elfman, Cana, Gajeel and almost everyone else nodded in agreement, until Erza glared at them.
She was wearing a dress that Naru got for her back in Konoha, a Light Blue Silk Kimono embroidered with Scarlet-Red Flowers and Crimson Swirls, with a burnt-orange Obi around her waist. In her Hair was a Flowery Hair Accessory that Naru also got her.
In all honesty, Erza felt uncomfortable in these clothes, but Naru got them for her, so she was going to wear them come hell or high water…
Once the small brawl ended, Naru made some clones who immediately went to work on the paperwork in her new office…and it didn't even take them 5 minutes before they began to loudly curse the original…they already hated Paperwork that much.
Several Years later
Time flies by.
Under Naru's leadership, the guild continued to prosper and grow and be just as rambunctious and battle savy as they were under Makarov. Naru even opened two branch guilds in Oak Town and Maple City in order to support the local guilds there, who just decided to merge themselves with Fairy Tail for no apparent reason, though the town and City were grateful for the protection that came with the guilds.
And Naru declined being reinstated into the Wizard Saints, who now controlled the Magic Council, after she defeated God Serana of the 'Four Gods of Ishgar' in a fight he started (because he was drunk and was hitting on Naru), stating that her loyalty lies with Fairy Tail.
Natsu, Gray, Juvia, Gajeel, Elfman and even Lucy eventually reached S-Rank.
Mira and Laxus' relationship grew from that small date and they began a small family a few years after Naru became the 7th Guild Master of Fairy Tail, with Mira resigning from being a Mage to care for their children, though she still works at the Bar together with Lisanna, who still is a full time Mage.
Speaking off Lisanna, she and Natsu have stepped up their relationship and the two together with Happy now live in the same building…where she pranks the two of them into keeping the place nice and tidy at all times.
Elfman and Evergreen…how should I put this…they became a baby Factory after they married shortly before Laxus and Mira. Seriously, Evergreen is on her second set of Twins right now, though her work at the local Library does help to calm her down.
And speaking of children…Levy and Gajeel became the first pair to have kids of their own. And what started out with Gajeel stating "One is enough" didn't last long as Levy turned pregnant again half a year after their first daughter was born. Seeing Gajeel walking through the guild with a trio of children climbing all over him brought many a laugh to the guild members.
Juvia and Gray, like Natsu and Lisanna, took the slower route. Yes they live together, however they still need to take that last step before entering a serious relationship, and they are both the happier for it.
Wendy became a traveller and a doctor, soon becoming known far and wide, going so far as recreating Healing Magic.
And then there is Erza. Three years after Naru became Guild Master, she went to the Bar, ordered a mug of Whiskey, downed said mug, then proposed to Naru. Even Naru was stunned by this and numbly nodded her head.
Their Wedding made international headlines. How many people do you know whose Bridesmaids consisted of the Nation's Queen (Hisui), a Dragon Slayer who was infamous for being the best Doctor in the Lands and recreating the lost Healing Magic (Wendy) and a former 'Demon' of Fairy Tail (Mira), the Best Man being a black Haired man from Naru's Homeland whom nobody wanted to approach because he had a sinister look to him (Sasuke), the Bridesmen being a giant Toad the size of the Cathedral (Gamakichi) and a red haired man with dark rings around his eyes (Gaara), and lastely a bunch of people who didn't want to see their beloved 'Erza-sama' or 'Naru-sama' to be wedding someone other than themselves, the event was quite different from what was considered Ordionary, even by Fairy Tail's standards.
Now, it was evening years later. Naru was finishing off the last bits of Paperwork that her clones had left her before turning and looking out of the window, seeing the City's lights before her.
She smiled.
This was her Home now.
This is where she belonged.

This is the end of this story, and boy was it a journey.
AS FOR THE CHANGE OF PLANS:
As stated at the beginning of this chapter, I had originally intended on turning this Arc into a 2 Chapter Arc, with the first Chapter covering Naru's last exploit in Konoha and the second one covering her return and reintegration into Fiore's Society.
So, the first Chapter was the easy part…in that it only took me 5 rewrites to complete it:
1.I wrote about 1500 words (give or take a hundred) before I scrapped this Idea as I realized that what I was writing would only lead to conflicts with my own Moral Standards. In short, Naru would end up going on a Rampage due to Kurama taking the brunt of Danzo's Mangekyou Sharingan and slaughter most if not all the Village…at least, this is the outcome I foresaw the chapter leading to.
2.This was less of a chapter and more of a framework that I played around with. The main problem I have with Frameworks is that mine always tend to become unstable after a while. In this case, the story was becoming inflexible and would have snapped later on.
The 3rd and 4th Attempts helped form the Basis for the final result.
3.Here I initially had Naru encounter another group of Root ANBU who caused her a lot of grief. I took this Idea and incorporated it into her fight with Danzo.
4.This became the basis on which I built the rest of the chapter in the final version, though I rewrote several Paragraphs to make it Lore friendly. The initial entrance of Naru into Konoha would have been her sneaking into the Village and infiltrating Danzo's lair, then letting Hell loose. This caused me some problems later on. Also, Naru would have tried to run away, effectively becoming a Fugitive, with the remnants of Root out to get revenge on her, eventually leading to them travelling to Fiore and killing several members of Fairy Tail…so yeah, I am not going to condone that.

As for the Epilog, I kinda rushed it because I simply gave up on writing the last chapter. I kid you not, I hit a writer's block every 100 words or so, and there were so many rewrites that I just decided to scrap it and write the Epilog…
