Mantle's Rebellion!
"This world! So cruel! So cruel! Monsters oppressing the people! Atlas oppressing Mantle! Humans oppressing the faunus! Must! REBEL!"
"Woah there! We're here to meet father! Father!"
"Rebel against the oppressors!"
"No! We-"
"Rebel against Atlas!"
"What did I ju-"
"REBELLLLLLL!"
"...Fine….Guess I could stab some bots and people. Should be fun."
To say the trip to Mantle was enjoyable is an understatement. The journey had been rough and annoying. More so when the Wyverns kept squawking to do their business. Disgusting freaks. Still, Mordred and Spartacus eventually made it to where father was. Or at the least near father is, as there was one problem now.
"What do you mean I can't go to Atlas!" Mordred slammed a fist on the counter. The man in the station seemed used to it, and showed no fear. Instead, saying what he did earlier.
"Like I told you, give me identification, lien, and you can go up there." The man then saw Spartacus, and more importantly, his outfit. Then he looked at Mordred's own style of clothing. "And maybe wear something more appropriate."
"Hah!" Mordred scowled and slammed her fists more. "What do you mean by that!?"
Suddenly Mordred heard the voice of a few people.
"Mom. What's that girl wearing?"
"How shameful."
"That man's freaking me out."
"Look at those muscles."
"That girl's hot! What I wouldn't give to touch those bu-"
Mordred turned around back to the man and said, "Any idea where the nearest store is?"
"Two streets down, one right, one left, and straight ahead for Mantle's clothing store." The man told her. "If you're lucky, then maybe you'll find some leftover clothes Atlas dumped there."
"What!?" Mordred was now even more infuriated. "You're telling me cloth stores sell used outfits?"
"Sometimes." The man shrugs. "Times are hard here. Next!" With that any further business was done as Mordred and Spartacus let the next customer take their place as they walked away miserably.
"Great. Just great." Mordred scowls as she shoves her hands into her small pockets. Then shivering a little at the cold here. Apparently Servant powers were wonky here, and she could feel some of the temperature. Not that she cared, as she had other matters to attend to. "So close to father yet so damn far!" Like her beautiful dad.
"Oppressed." Spartacus says to her. Eyes looking at the man who they just talked with. "He is oppressing us! From moving forward!" His hands reached for his sword.
"Woah there big guy!" Mordred stops Spartacus from pulling his weapon and likely getting them in trouble with the law. "Guy's just doing his job. Sure he's a jerk!" Mordred threw a glare at the man who paid no mind. "But nothing to stab him about."
Spartacus nodded, but vowed to keep an eye on that man. Mordred sighed as she then scratched her head. Honestly, she'd rather steal a Bullhead as they call it and fly to Atlas. But, they'd be shot down and while likely they would survive, they'd be hitting the dirt hard after falling from the sky. Worse, even if they went the legal route the two Servants had no cash at all. Meaning they're stuck here in this clearly poverty ridden city.
'Okay, maybe not that bad.' Mordred thought as she looked at Mantle. While it wasn't in such a horrible state, some of the stuff here did look old and some people wore clothing that while did well defending against the cold, wasn't all great either. She did recall hearing some people complain about Atlas.
No matter the era or world, there will always be a cruel system where one benefited while others suffered. Not that she entirely cared, as she wants to see her father. But how will she get up to Atlas?
Mordred then saw some woman with blue hair and walked to her. "Hey." She then talks to her. "Any idea how to get up to Atlas? I need to speak with my father, but it seems that's not gonna be easy."
"Father?" The woman then frowns a bit. Also narrowing her eyes at the two and how weirdly dressed they are before saying, "You're wasting your time kid. If you're here and your dad is up there, then he clearly doesn't wish to see you."
"What was that?" Mordred grits her teeth until Spartacus grabs her shoulder and pats it.
"No need to fear." He says to Mordred then attempts to cheer her up. "Perhaps if you rebel, then your father will visit you!"
"I already rebelled against him before, remember!" Mordred tells Spartacus as good old memories come back. Then crosses her arms and frowns. "But he never pays attention to me! Hell, always going on to me about being a good knight and how I wasn't a good heir!" While she did love her father, Mordred couldn't deny she kinda liked her younger father just a tiny bit more, as Arturia (Lily) always spoke to her nicely.
Meanwhile, the woman with blue hair then scowled while gripping her fists. How funny. To think she was seeing another person just like her, who was rejected by her own father, maybe even family, and likely sent down here. What a joke yet as expected by the crummy Atlas elite. She wasn't even surprised. After all, the elite were just jerks who treated even their family badly if it came down to it. Though from the looks of it, this girl just didn't realize she was abandoned. How sad.
"You know," The woman walks a bit closer to the strange duo. "Maybe you could just forget about your dad. It sounds like to me he doesn't care much about you."
"That's not true." Mordred replied. "Sure he ignores me, talks back to me most of the time, and rejects my place as heir…" Mordred then begins realizing that maybe those weren't good examples, and instead snaps her fingers. "But he doesn't hate me!"
Yep. This girl had a crummy dad all right. Judging from her age, she seemed to be a teenager and was just under the impression that her father must still like her or something. Thanks to the fact the girl's outfit revealed so much skin, despite how cold it is, the blue haired woman could see no marks or signs of physical injury. Likely then a neglected father this girl had.
'As for the other one.' The woman then looks at the big guy who had loads of scars on him while wearing a very strange set of armor and is huge. She wondered if he also came from Atlas or something. Either way, he and this girl made a strange sight together. Still, a part of her now felt bad for this kid. To think she was rejected by this bastard and even worse, the girl clearly thought her dad still loved her.
"Uh, look." Mordred then got a bit closer to the woman. "I just need to see my dad up in Atlas and talk to him."
"Talk about how he oppressed you?" Spartacus then asked her. "If so, then let me join and rebel with you!"
"Yeah, no." Mordred rolls her eyes. "Last thing I need is you interrupting my time with father. Heck, last time you joined me you went crazy and ruined an entire room."
"Because your father had become a tyrant at that time!" Spartacus replied, recalling how he joined Mordred in meeting the Alter version of the King of Knights. "Then he became a maid!"
"...huh?" The woman then says, now confused.
"Hey! Father looked good wearing that maid outfit...kinda." Mordred then blushes a little recalling that rather weird sight.
"Then what about that bunny outfit that revealed his chest. Such scandalous proportions." Spartacus yells with Mordred blushing more now.
"Okay, so he wears weird outfits here and there, but that's his charm!" Mordred replies back. "I mean, he looked great in that two piece bikini and then the one piece!"
'More like a pervert!' The blue haired woman thought as she heard all this and felt a little ill. What kind of father wears women's outfits and in front of their daughter!? Clearly, this man was messed up in the head.
As for Spartacus he just huffed before saying, "If you want his attention then, then rebel like before!" He points a finger at Mordred and then at the floating city of Atlas. "Your father is there, and you are here. Make him notice you by rebelling like you did in life!"
Before the woman could say anything, Mordred grinned. "Huh...that is true." Mordred then chuckled a bit. "If I do some kind of big spectacle, then father will have to notice me down here. Heck! I bet if I do something cool, he'll come down here and take me back with him!"
"Or," The woman speaks up, getting a bad feeling about this. "You can just, I don't know, ignore him and go to a family that cares. Like...a mother." In that instant Mordred's face turned from happy to just disbelief.
"...mom." She then spat on the ground. "That bitch can die for all I care. A weirdo in the truest sense." Did this girl not have any normal family members or not? Either way, this gave the woman an idea.
"...You said you want to grab your father's attention, correct?" She asks with Mordred nodding. "And you," She turns to Spartacus. "You just want to rebel."
"Not just rebel." Spartacus then says matter-of-factly. "I rebel not for no reason, but rebel to free the oppressed!" Spartacus's eyes then look at the people of this town, then at that accused floating rock above them. "Yes! I must rebel against Atlas!"
"Then I guess I'm the woman you're looking for." The blue haired woman says as she smirks. "Name is May, May Marigold. And I work with a group that does it's best to defend Mantle and try to ensure it gets the help it needs."
"So, like what. A civil worker?" Mordred asks.
"More like...a group that rebels." May grins with Spartacus doing the same. Too bad it looked more scary than sweet, but May can handle it. "And we're fighting for rights so that Mantle isn't left in the dirt." It was a bit manipulative, and May admits she does feel guilty for trying to trick her. But deep down she felt this was for the best so that this girl can move on from her clearly crappy father. "So," She looks at Mordred. "You wanna join us, Happy Huntresses?"
Mordred thought about this for a bit. On one hand, she'd have to join this woman and whatever strange group she's with. On the other hand, not only can she 'rebel' with fun action, but as May said, get her father's attention. I mean, if she does something big enough then perhaps Father will see it on the news and boom, come and see her! Heck yeah, this is a great idea!
"Alright then!" She said with a smile. "Sure, why not. I'll join your stupid group and cause mayhem!"
"Indeed!" Spartacus agrees!
May had to stop herself from retorting back at Mordred's words and instead just tried telling herself now she has new allies for the Happy Huntresses. These two, or the big guy anyway, looked pretty tough. Heck, he can be used to fight against Atlas's machines who transport materials that can be used to repair Mantle and the like. Ensuring Mantle has what it needed ever since Ironwood began taking supplies to some unknown location.
Normally, May along with her friends would be capable of dealing with the supplies and using it to aid Mantle. However...things have become difficult. Particularly ever since Ironwood enlisted the aid of a new group that were as high-ranking as his precious little Ace-Ops. The Winter-Ops.
A group that kept an eye on Mantle, and were honestly absurdly strong. Like Sigurd. Despite being human trash that apparently cheated on women, Robyn personally claimed to have witnessed him destroy an entire group of Megoliath Grimm in but a few minutes.
Not to mention that pretty girl(?) who can somehow negate dust whenever she met criminals in Mantle and beat them down. Working with a dark skinned handsome man who seemed to be immune to any weapons around.
Not to mention the two girls on the team with the former looking like some kind of angel with a heavy spear that crushed Grimm like ease. The other girl with a shield that defended apparently against any attack and, to be honest, creeped May out because of her lack of emotion.
'But with these two, we can now have the good help we need.' May thought as it's been tough to take supplies with those five down here enforcing Ironwood's will and making Mantle suffer. So having good allies can certainly give them the boost they need.
"Now then!" Spartacus began moving. "Let us start by freeing the faunus in the mines! Chargeeee!"
"Wait, what!?" May yelled.
"Aright! Let's go!" Suddenly Mordred ran off following after Spartacus with people jumping out of their way. May forced to watch them go until she snapped out of her trance and began chasing after them.
Shouting, "Wait up!"
Maybe she made a mistake.
"Hm-hmmhmm-hmmm." Arturia (Lily) finally got the snacks needed for the movie marathon she, Jeanne (Lily), alongside Whitley and Sieg were about to do. Having some tea, a few sweets, and sugar. As she was leaving the kitchen, she then saw a device of sorts speaking what appeared to be the news.
"And in recent events, an entire mine had to be evacuated as a massive man and a teenage girl were seen causing mayhem there." The voice said with Saber (Lily) paying close attention. Wondering if maybe this was important. "As for the identity of the two, while uncertain one has proclaimed himself a liberator of the oppress while the second state's she a Knight of Tre-"
"Arturia (Lily)!" Jeanne (Lily) then called her out from another room. "Come on already! We're about to start the film!"
"Oh, coming!" Arturia (Lily) then left, ignoring the news. It probably wasn't anything important anyway.
The Happy Huntresses get two need members to help out their quest for Mantle rights. To bad the two in question are known to rebel against orders at time. But hey, maybe now Mantle will get the help it needs later on.
