Petition to Give Forgotten Disney (Like The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1 1\2) More Love Link in Profile! Let's let Disney know we care about these movies!
Hello! This story is based on prompts sent to me by Tulie4EVER some by them and some by their friend datia. I thought they were really good prompts so here's my attempt at them!
Story 1 Part 1
The war was finally over, The Pride Lands were now at peace, having welcomed Zira's renegade pride into their own.
Time had passed and Simba had stepped down as king, allowing his daughter Kiara and her mate Kovu to rule The Pride Lands. Eventually the two decided they wanted to begin a whole new Circle of Life.
Kiara nuzzled into Kovu's neck contently. "Do you think it worked this time?"
"I'm sure of it!" Kovu said, returning the nuzzle.
Kiara relaxed into Kovu's mane, but there was a knot of uncertainty forming in her stomach.
A few weeks had passed and Kiara wasn't showing any signs of pregnancy. She sighed, sitting at the opening of the den. Kovu went over in an attempt to comfort her.
"I … I just don't understand." Kiara sighed. "We're trying so hard."
"Maybe we should go see Rafiki." Kovu said. "He'll know what to do."
The two headed to Rafiki's tree, to seek advice from the wise mandril. When they arrived, he was chanting, and adding paint to a portrait. Hearing their footsteps, Rafiki looked over, a wide smile spreading across his face.
"Queen Kiara! King Kovu!" He said as he excitedly made his way down the tree branches. "What brings you here?" He noticed the uncertain looks on both of their faces and frowned. "Is something the matter?"
"We've been trying to have cubs for months now." Kiara sighed. "But…"
"We've been having trouble …" Kovu said.
"Hmm …" Rafiki said, deep in thought. "Let me see …"
He hopped off the branch and went over to the young lioness. "I want you to lay down against the base of the tree."
"O … okay …" Kiara said. She put her back against the trunk of the tree, allowing Rafiki to examine her.
He gently pressed his hands against her ovaries, deep in though.
What could possibly be the problem? He looked to the sky, hoping for an answer. Suddenly a sharp wind blew across his and Kiara's fur, causing Rafiki's hands to fall to the ground. Oh … oh I see ….
Rafiki closed his eyes and sighed.
"What is it?" Kiara asked, worried.
"You are … infertile."
"Infertile?" Kiara asked, sitting up.
Rafiki nodded solemnly.
"What!? How could this happen?" Kovu asked.
"Sometimes animals cannot produce offspring." Rafiki said.
"Oh …" Kiara frowned, folding her ears down.
"It is actually fairly common, I've seen it before plenty of times." Rafiki said, putting his arm around her. "It's nothing to feel ashamed of."
"I'm not." Kiara sighed. "I just … I … I feel … sad …"
"That is also normal." Rafiki said. "Some lionesses mourn not being able to carry a cub of their own, it takes time to heal from it."
"What am I going to do?" Kiara sighed.
"Kiara …" Rafiki said, gently, tightening his hug. "It will be okay …"
"No, it won't!" Kiara said, pulling back harshly. "How am I supposed to complete The Circle of Life if I can't produce an heir!"
"We could always adopt." Kovu said, nuzzling Kiara's cheek.
Tears pricked in Kiara's eyes. "But … but we can't do that …" She looked over at Rafiki, teary eyed. "Can we?"
"Of course you can!" Rafiki said, putting his arm around her again. "A few of your ancestors were unable to produce cubs of their own and adopted orphaned cubs!"
"R-really?" Kiara sniffled.
Rafiki nodded.
"So it was okay … even if they weren't royal blood?" Kiara asked.
"Of course." Rafiki said. "They are still family."
"What do you think Kiara?" Kovu asked, gently.
"I … I need to think about it …" Kiara sighed, getting back up. Kovu followed close behind as they made their way back to Pride Rock.
