Chapter One: We get a Surprise.

Jason POV

Jason was heading back from the Bunker 9, walking along with Piper dragging a tired Leo near the lake after finishing their shift. The sun was almost near the horizon, setting a brilliant shades of oranges and reds. Leo had said he still couldn't get it around his head that Apollo pulled the sun chariot across the sky, even though Will Solace had explained that it was actually a car/bus.

Thinking about the whole day, working in the Bunker 9 building the Argo II, Jason thoughts had always drifted to the missing Son of Poseidon, who he'd presumed was at the Roman Camp somwhere in San Francisco. The whole camp had been working together to build the Argo II to get him back. He'd been wondering whether his friends from the camp were searching for him too.

It'd been almost 8 months since his disappearnce in October. The camp would elect a new praetor to run the camp. He'd feared that the camp's Augur Octavian would make a move for the preatorship under the guise of power vaccum, but there's nothing he could do about it now. He'd hoped that Reyna wouldn't let him have the share in her power that easily, until Percy Jackson rose in the camp.

Thinking about Percy, Jason wondered what did the guy actually do to earn the whole camp's dedication to get him back after his disapperance in last December. He voiced his thoughts to his two friends. Girlfriend and friend actually.

"You know, I was wondering what he did exactly. All I know is he fought a battle and saved Olympus."

"What?" Piper spoke beside me, biting her lip lightly. "Oh, you mean Percy Jackson?" she asked noticing my expression. "I asked Annabeth about it once but she didn't seem too keen to tell me about it. I don't blame her. I heard almost all his adventures are with her. I guess it'd be painful to talk about them without him here."

"Yeah, well he's popular dude in camp. Everyone's going on and on about him. He sounds a lot like you." Leo spoke from the other side.

"Me?" Jason asked in confusion. "From what I've heard, we don't share any personality traits much, not even appereance."

"Yeah, y'know the whole prophecy fulfilling and going on world-saving quests."

"Well, for beginners he's tall, lean, muscular like a swimmer, wind-swept black hair and sea-green eyes. My cabin's pretty much written a book about his looks and they won't stop about this percabeth, a ship they named for Percy and Annabeth." Piper said, pretty uncomfortable about her siblings behaviour.

"Yeah, well...I'd seriously like to know about his adventures and the stuff did." Jason paused with a troubled look in his eyes. "It'll be good to know if he can survive at the roman camp. Though I'm pretty sure he does."

Leo groaned "Dude, you're being pessimistic now." Jason felt that Leo get what he was speaking. It'd be bad if the Romans didn't like Percy.

The conch horn blew in the distance.

"Let's go to dinner. Then we can talk about it in the Big House." Piper grinned.

Jason, Piper, Leo are searching the Big House journal list to find something about Percy Jackson. So far, no luck. It's like all the written evidences about percy are completely erased from the record at the camp. But thinking about it, nobody ever mentioned about any records or journals about any camper being stored in the Big House.

Jason was rummaging through an old book shelf when a book suddenly drops from the top shelf on his head.

Jason groaned shaking his head lighly, while piper dusted the book and read the title, "Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian."

Leo came from the attic and asked if they had found something useful. Piper raised the book to show him that she had found something, but not sure if it's the one they wanted. All it had was a title with Percy's name on it. It had to do something with him, right!

Leo sounded bored "Let's ask someone about the book then. Based on the title, it's pretty obvious that it's about the dude we're talking about. Maybe it's his diary or something." Then he sounded terrified "Let's ask Annabeth first whether we should open it not. I don't want her to skew me alive"

They left the Big House searching for Annabeth. The three friends were near the forest when a readheaded girl came to them.

Jason recognised her as the mist-spilling, future-telling Oracle, Rachel.

He half hoped she wouldn't start oozing green mist now, but when she spoke her voice was normal.

"Hey," Rachel smiled. "Where are you guys going? I was wondering if you'd seen Annabeth?"

"No, we were searching for her too. We'd like to ask her about something." Piper smiled at her. After the quest, they seem friendly enough to hold a conversation.

Rachel glanced at the book in her hands and then looked back at them. "Well, I heard that you wanted to know about Percy and his adventures.."

"How'd you hear that? Is that an Oracle thing?" Leo asked incredously.

"Seriously, Leo" Piper shook her head, exasperated.

"Anyway," Rachel continued as though he hadn't interrupted. "The book in your hands, it's from Apollo, by the way -" Jason felt the book warm up a little as to acknowleding the credit "The muses wrote about the last Great Prophecy and it's about Percy's... last year here, leading the camp to the final battle against Kronos and the titans."

"Wait, so we get to know everything about what happened?" Jason asked, a grin forming on his face.

"Pretty much. I haven't read it yet. Apollo mentioned it to me after the war, but I was leaving the camp for school at that time." she replied.

Piper asked "So, who will be reading it-"

Then two voices from the trees behind them cried out, cutting her off.

"Ouch! That's my hand, you idiot!"

"I'm an idiot? You just gave us away, bro!"

They looked back to see the two Hermes brothers tripping out from behind the cover of the bushes.

"Connor, Travis," Rachel sighed. "What were you doing?"

"Duh, listening in," Connor stated the obvious, rolling his eyes and rubbing his hand.

"Sounds interesting," his brother added. "Can we read it too?"

Jason smiled while Leo grinned. He'd deducted that the kids of Hermes were absolute clowns in the first few days at the camp. Definitely the type of people Leo would fit right in.

"There's a party going on here?" a familiar voice said from ahead. Jake Mason was heading towards them, curious.

Piper held up the book and Rachel told them what it was.

"Okay, look, we'll go down to the river and read it there. Is that okay with everyone?" she asked. They all nodded.

When they got there, they saw Rachel was speaking to Annabeth, who nodded at something she said and looked at the book interestedly.

They got to the lake and settled down in a circle. Rachel spoke up.

"Annabeth decided to join us," she started, but Jason interrupted.

"Hey, wait, do you mind telling us the basics? What happened before this book?" he asked with a curious frown. Piper and Leo leaned in, eager to hear what happened.

Annabeth sighed and looked down at the ground, then back at the trio.

"Okay, well… you all know that the 'Big Three' – Zeus, Poseidon and Hades – made a pact after the Second World War, right?"

They trio nodded hesitantly, not knowing the complete details.

"Well, basically, they swore on the River Styx not to sire any more children because the demigods of the Big Three turned out to be so powerful they often caused wars and a lot of carnage."

"But the pact was broken, right? I mean, we have Percy, Thalia and Jason." Piper remembered.

Annabeth nodded. "Yes. Poseidon sired Percy, who he kept a secret. Hades had two children – Nico and Bianca – from years before, but he hid them in secret to avoid Zeus' wrath on them because of the pact."

"How can Hades hid them from Zeus? How long can he hide them? Jason mused.

"They were already born before the Second World War and to protect them, he hid them in this hotel and casino-" Annabeth started.

"The god of the Death hid his kids in a casino?" Leo interrupted, raising an eyebrow.

Piper sent him an 'are you an idiot' look. "Leo, let her finish before you ask."

"Alright, alright, sorry." The others chuckled and Annabeth continued.

"It's god of the Underworld, actually. It's a long story, but the casino works the same way as monster islands and all that; time goes past normally on the outside but if you're in there, then a day could be a week or two. So by the time Nico and Bianca got out, they were well over seventy years old, technically, but they were still pretty much the same age they used to be."

"Must've been a shock to them," Jason muttered. Leo and Piper nodded their heads, speechless.

"So, anyway, hardly anyone knew they were Hades' children. And, of course, Zeus sired Thalia."

"And Jason," added Leo additionally, earning an amused look from everyone.

"And Jason," agreed Annabeth. "But obviously we didn't know that until he came here. Thalia never mentioned about you either. Well, Thalia actually sacrificed her life to save me and Grover and Luke, when we were running from some monsters right before we got to Camp."

"She did what?" Jason looked shocked. "Wait, is this when she got turned into a tree? Thalia mentioned something like that but not the complete story. I didn't completely understand the whole story as I was still dizzy learning about my sister."

Leo and Piper stared at him. "Your sister turned into a tree?" Piper said, eyebrows flying up. "Is this a ritual for all Zeus demigods? But how-?"

"Before she died, Zeus took pity on her," Annabeth explained. "He preserved her life in the tree on the border and it protected the camp ever since. We got into camp safely. So the gods thought the problem of the whole breaking-the-oath thing was over, and delayed the prophecy. Then, the year Percy came, Zeus' master bolt was stolen."

Leo looked at her weirdly. "Um… how exactly can one steal a bolt of lightning…?"

"It's not just a bolt – it's his symbol of power. A 2 foot long cylinder with colossal dynamites on both ends. I'll explain later on, it's not important now." Thunder rumbled in the distance. "I mean, it is important, but… yeah, anyway," Annabeth added hurriedly before Zeus got too offended. "That got Zeus and Poseidon arguing and fighting – Zeus held his brother in blame for stealing it, and of course Poseidon refused the claim. Then Percy came and got claimed for all the hades broke loose."

"The camp pretty much split up for a big showdown" Connor added helpfullly.

Annabeth ignored him. "Well, that pretty much increased the fighting ten-fold. Not only did Poseidon break the oath too, but Zeus was convinced Percy had stolen his bolt for him. It was… disastrous, to say the least. We were on an edge of a catastrophic war."

"But you mentioned about a prophecy and why was it such a big deal about the children of the Big Three?" Piper asked. "It sounds like there's more to the reason than what you said."

Annabeth grimaced, as did the other demigods except the trio. "There was… a Prophecy made, about the first child of the Big Three to turn sixteen. He or she would hold the responsibility of making a decision that would either send Olympus to ruins or save us all."

"No pressure." Leo let out a low whistle.

"Yeah, well, that's why. Thalia would've been the child of the prophecy, after she turned back but a day before she turned sixteen, she joined the Hunters of Artemis, so now she's immortally fifteen."

"And so, all the pressure goes to Percy," Travis said with a heavy sigh.

Annabeth glared at him, shutting him up.

"So, what happened after that. The Lightning Bolt, I mean?" Jason pressed. Annabeth outlined their quest, raising their doubts about Luke.

"Yes, he was on Kronos' side," Annabeth confirmed, looking down.

Jason turned to the Stoll brothers. They scowled, an expression unfamiliar to their faces made Jason drop the subject.

Annabeth went on to explain their other quests, the other campers adding in details where she wasn't sure what happened. She mentioned a few times about a spy at camp who was reporting to Kronos, but she never named her. It was a painful topic to go in to. But something sparked in Piper's expression.

"The spy… it was Silena, wasn't it?" she said softly, "Drew mentioned it, when I came to camp… but… Silena wasn't bad, was she?" she added, eyebrows creased.

They all shook their heads sadly. "Silena was a hero, as much as Beckendorf…" Jake trailed off.

"Well then, I think that's all the important things," Annabeth said.

"Okay, so," Rachel said, looking around, "Who wants to read first?"

"I'll read," Jason offered, getting the book from her. He glanced at the cover page. "Who's the last Olympian?"

"I guess you'll find out," Rachel shrugged.

"Alright then…" Jason read on.
