The Broken Guardian

A/N: Hi I just wanted to say that this is my first fanfiction so if there are some mistakes or mess ups in uploading it anything please forgive me or give me advice on how to fix my mistake. - Nightshade Guardian

Percy POV:

I ran through the forest, branches scraping against my skin, ripping my jeans and I looked back as to why I was running. Why I was running away from the one place I had used to call home for the past six years. One name. One single name had caused this and one day he would get what was coming to him. I would make sure of it. I swear it on the styx.

Flashback

It was a warm and sunny day, the birds were chirping, the air smelled like strawberries due to the Demeter cabins' hard work on the fields and for once, it was peaceful. The war was over, Gaia had been lulled back into slumber through the efforts of Piper, Leo, Festus and Jason. It had been a few months since the battle and while Olympus was still deciding if someone was to be blamed for everything, the two camps had gone back to some semblance of normal but were cooperating a lot more now that the rift between them was healed thanks to Reyna and Nico's efforts in bringing the Parthenos back to camp Half Blood. No one quite knew what had happened to Leo after he vanished along with Festus and as such people were desperately searching for him for months until he suddenly turned back up at camp, surprisingly, with Calypso riding along with him. It had been a long time since I had seen Calypso and I immediatly thought back to my time in Tartarus where it was revealed she cursed me for leaving her but I saw how she and Leo looked at each other and I was happy for them. Leo had said that he was going to be around camp less as he and Calypso wanted to explore the mortal realm a little but they would be around often.

I was having a nice day relaxing with Annabeth in the strawberry fields, the wind blowing through our hair as we held hands when a conch horn sounded and we saw a kid running towards the border being chased by three dracena. Me and Annabeth quickly ran towards them, me uncapping riptide and Annabeth drawing her drakon bone sword respectively, we reached the monsters as the kid had tripped and I swiftly cut one of their spears in half just before it was going to impale the kid and then neatly sliced the dracena in half with a back swing. Annabeth then started fighting the second one and I stood watching until the kid pushed me to the ground for some unknown reason and charged at the monster picking up his sword as he did. I would have laughed at how bad the kid's skill with a sword was except he was charging the third monster who had managed to sneak up behind Annabeth and surprise her, knock her over and was about to impale her with it's spear. The kid started swinging wildly until he managed to get a lucky strike against the monster and it burst into golden dust, the nameless bronze xiphos dropping from the kids hands as it happens

"Did you see that?" the kid proclaimed as I now saw a small gathering of campers forming behind him "I just killed that monster with ease! I'm so awesome" he bragged and some of the campers looked in awe, mostly the new campers, whereas others looked bored as if this wasn't anything important. Percy realised that this kid could possibly be one of the most arrogant and stuck-up demigods he has ever met, just from first impressions. The new kid then turned to Annabeth.

"Thanks for slowing down that snake thing but I didn't need your help, though I think you could easily defeat me with your good looks. My name is Ryan by the way" I got slightly annoyed at this as he was obviously flirting with my girlfriend, who I was still planning on going to college with in New Rome next summer for marine biology and architechture respectively, and even more annoyed at her blushing. I took a few deep breaths and calmed down as I knew that it was mostly natural for someone to blush when receiving compliments or being flirted with, as long as it wasn't too creepy. As Ryan went to pick up the sword from where he had dropped it, a golden sun appeared above Ryan's head claiming him as a son of Apollo. As Chiron moved forward from the group he knelt down and proclaimed

"All hail Ryan, son of Apollo Lord of the sun, Archery, Truth, Prophecy and Medicine" the kid looked slightly shocked at what was happening then grinned.
