Prologue: The Battle Against Calamity Ganon
The twilight sky was corrupted once again by the fiery yet smoky pink and black malice of the Scourge of Hyrule. It circled repeatedly before forming into the foul pig like creature Hyrule has become familiar with over the centuries: Ganon. However, a singular light flew down as well, bursting open to reveal the Hero that Hyrule has also become familiar with: Link.
Link turned around to witness the wretched creation of Ganon's pure enraged form, a body defiled with the physical embodiment of malice. Thankfully Link was not a far distance away from the castle, where he had left his horse before the battle. He whistled for Epona, watching the castle to ensure she was on her way. The moment he saw the white mane flying towards him, he turned around to onlook the coming danger he would have to face.
While courage guided him, common sense had told him this was a losing battle. The Master Swords power was waning, it needed rest, and the beast kept growing in size. The beast was made of malice so there had to be an eye to shoot right? However the eye wasn't visible to him as of yet, and Link was starting to worry. A golden light had appeared in the sky however.
"Link, You may not have recovered all your memories from before... however Your courage will allow you to see this through, because courage can never be forgotten... take the bow of light! I from inside the best will guide you arrows. Fight Link... Fight!" the voice of the light declared.
Link smiled.
'I don't wanna think about how you feel inside of that thing...' Link thought as Epona rode up beside him. He leapt over the saddle and smiled. 'But I'm gonna finish this and get you out.'
"HIYA!" Link called as he kicked Epona's sides, galloping towards the golden bow in front of them. Link leaned a bit to the side to swoop the bow off the ground. The bow felt physically lighter than any falcon bow he had previously used, yet the power he Link had felt was unimaginable.
'This is her weakened power? What the hell is her full power like?' Link thought as he rode towards Ganon head on.
Suddenly ferocious pink energy rose up in the boar's tusk. Aimed right at Link.
"Shit!" Link called out. He jumped off Epona to the left allowing Epona to move before the inevitable blast forced itself out of Ganon's charge. Link pulled out the Master Sword, Link hadn't taken any damage as of yet, defeating Ganons "reincarnated body with ease". Bringing it skyward in the air for a brief second Link brought the glowing blade down milliseconds before the malice beam hit him. With the extra power of the Master Sword if the wielder is in perfect health, the blade can shoot a powerful beam. While not as great as it had been with its original skyward owner, the weakened beam after ages of use was able to cut through most of the beam, protecting Link from the blast, but not entirely. Links shoulder had been burned.
Link winced at the pain but kept his eyes on the brutal malice entity in front of him.
'Alright, watch for that, the Master Sword won't be able to protect me again... Zelda said she would guide my arrows so where-?' Link then noticed the shining beacons of goddess light on the sides of the pig.
'Could've shown those sooner Zelda," Link smiled and started running towards one of the lights. He whistled and Epona started running his direction once again. Hoping on the horse without her stopping, Link continued to circle the beast, dodging and weaving each malice blast shot his direction.
'I know your game now, Snout face, you're not hitting me with those...'
Link aimed the bow of light, light arrows forming as he drew. One after another the arrows flew, hitting their designated targets on the beast body. The beast squealed with agony and rage as each arrow pierced his malice slush body. Suddenly Ganon shot a beam that missed Link, but collided with the side of Dueling Peak Mountains.
Link cursed under his breath. 'Shit I hope that didn't hit the stable! Gotta keep him focused on me or he'll hurt the inhabitants of what's left of Hyrule.'
"Link! Strike, strike with the bow! Strike!"
'I know, I know Zelda!' Link thought.
Dark clouds had now overtaken the land and rain was falling heavy. Epona was now slipping through the grass, still dodging and weaving the malicious beams. Link was having trouble aiming the Bow of Light, the fire on the ground, the beams of death being shot his way, the wind and rain obstructing his vision, having to guide Epona, it was getting to overwhelm him.
"Link... please... you must fight on..."
Link gathered his resolve and managed to keep shooting the beast down, each shot deforming the beast body.
"Link! In front of the beast, above his eyes! The final shot..."
'The eye...', Link kicked and Epona galloped harder. He circled Ganon, Beams chasing him as he rode. After dodging a final shot from Gano, Link arrived at the head of the beast. Above the eyes was what seemed to be a massive blinking eye...
Link jumped off Epona and slapped her hind legs. Epona, usually following her master's orders, refused and turned towards Link.
"I'll make it back to you. We have more time trials to beat, promise."
Epona neighed and ran off. Beast Ganon was charging one final attack to finish Link. Link pulled the Master Sword out of its sheath.
"One last time... I'm not in full health... but please... Spirit in the Sword, I've heard you call out to me a few times in my dreams... but now more than ever I need you..."
The blast from Ganon was growing. Ganon pulled his head back ready to strike. Link held the sword out in front of him and closed his eyes.
"...Raise... me... skyward..."
Link's eyes flew open as he noticed the blade had started pulsating stronger than it had before. Using his damaged arm. He pushed the tip of his sword into the sky. The sword built up energy, a coating of purple light covering the blade from the tip down to the base of the blade.
Dark Beast Ganon shot his Malice beam. Link brought down the sword, unknowingly using the first, true Skyward Strike in thousands of years. The beam cut through most of the malice beam but again not entirely, link was burned from head to toe, but he was still standing.
Using the fire from Ganon's Beam, Link used the paraglider to raise into the air.
"You've been a real pain in the ass these last hundred years. It's time to lock you away again." Link drew his bow back mid air, time slowed, he also swore he could feel Zelda behind him. Releasing the arrow, it shot downward towards the eye, piercing it and ultimately dealing the final blow. The Malice Made Pig forehead deformed, allowing a light to escape its grasp.
Landing right in front of the beast was Zelda, in her dirtied prayer dress from a hundred years ago. Using her power, the body holding the Malice Pig together was undone, however the clouded beast, the beast that Link had watched fly over the castle every Blood Moon since his awakening flew around the sky preparing one final attack. The sky turned red, and the Blood Moon was high once again. Ganon was trying to strengthen the last of his power with a Final blood Moon in a desperate attempt to resist the sealing power. Ganon's clouded form flew high, and with a mighty roar, dived aiming right for the light that was Zelda.
"NO!" Link yelled but his body was weakened and burned, his blue tunic Zelda had made for him a hundred years ago still smoking from the final Malice Blast. Link wouldn't make it in time. Link tried to raise the Master Sword up in an attempt for the ancient beam he knew wouldn't come again but he had to try, only to be correct about the Master Swords Sealing energy being depleted from the Skyward Strike. Link dropped to his knees, his legs officially giving out with the Master Sword dropping out of his grip into the charred grass.
However even with the Blood Moon high once again, Ganon's Malice was no match for Sealing Powers Zelda held within herself. Links first battle with Ganons, the Skyward Strike, and Zelda containing him had weakened Ganon's powers.
Ganon's dive at Zelda was futile. Zelda raised her hand, the Golden Triangles on her hands glowing brightly. Once again the dome of Golden Power shown, the same power that had protected Link a hundred years ago, was not being used for its true purpose. Ganon, squirmed in the ball of light, Unable to break free. Zelda closed her open hand into a fist. The gigantic light quickly shrank down from a big ball of light, to a small void, into nothingness.
The red clouded sky slowly turned back to normal, now a sunset shining behind the castle, an orange peaceful light shining over Hyrule Field.
Link sighed with relief. Still on his knees. He picked up the Master Sword and stared at the blade.
"Thank you..." He whispered. The blade ever so slightly glowed its holy purple light before going dull once again. Link replaced the sword back in it's sheath on his back and forced his way up to his feet.
It hurt. His muscles ache all over, the burns everywhere on his body, still drenched in blood, rain and sweat.
'I look horrid...' Link thought to himself as he took slow limping steps towards Zelda. Zelda was faced away from him as she started speaking.
"I've been trying my best to keep watch over you, since the day you were put in the chamber. I watched every battle you went through, and all the trials and hardships. I didn't see everything... but I tried to be with you as much as I could. I always thought... believed that you would come out on top against Ganon. Thank You Link... the Hero of Hyrule..."
Zelda turned towards him. Giving him that familiar, fake smile... She gave everyone as princess. Link frowned.
"May I ask... Do you really remember me...?"
So that's why she's doing that, Link thought. He smiled.
"You know, if I remember correctly, a hundred years ago... I swear I told you I hate that fake 'proper smile' of yours."
Zelda's eyes started to water as she brought her hands to her mouth. After allowing a few tears had run down her cheeks. She removed her hands to reveal a much wider smile.
"Now that's a smile I remember..." Link said tiredly.
"You'd better... I only ever showed it to you..."
"Don't lie, I know you showed Impa it a few times." Link laughed.
Zelda chuckled.
"I missed you Link."
"I missed you too Zelda. Though I've gotta be honest about something..."
Zelda furrowed her eyes. "Why... What is it Link?"
"I don't think Ima.. be able.. to stay awake... much lo-" Link's eyes felt heavy. He vaguely heard Zelda call his name before Link collapsed to the ground.
