Chapter I
Percy still hadn't entirely come to terms with how he found himself in the situation he was now in. Chained to a wall in some wannabe madman assassin/villain's compound, half starved, but mostly bored out of his mind. It was truly times like this when he wondered if the Fates ever truly had a plan or if they were making it up as they go along.
Flashback
"So now after what I consider to be the collosal fuck up called my life as a demigod, including, but not limited to ensuring Kronos' demise, slaying the Promordial Earth Mother herself, being cursed by aforementioned Earth Mother, and floating in a godsdamn void for Hades knows how long," here Percy took a breath.
"You just now reveal to me that I am a hybrid child of Neptune and Poseidon, obtained the Blessing of Styx - not the Curse of Achilles a second time, and I will never reach Elysium to see my loved ones again, and you have the fucking audacity to say I have a choice to remain here or go to a new world?!" Percy finished, his volume having increased as he went on.
"There's always a choice, Perse-," the Fates tried to argue, but we're cut off by the demigod.
"This is a fucking void you dusty old cunts! You made me choose by not giving me one at all!" Percy roared before taking several deep calming breaths.
"Fine. Fine, but I have a demand and questions," Percy told them in a no nonsense tone to which they nodded.
"First and foremost, Paul and Sally Blofis, along with each and every single one of their descendants will live full and happy lives with no interaction with the godly world whatsoever," Percy told them firmly.
"We cannot guarantee," they tried to argue, but Percy snapped.
"YOU FUCKING OWE ME! You and the Gods owe me for saving their asses not once, but twice. You will meet that demand or I will rip a hole in whatever dimensional barrier bullshit, come back, and kill all of you myself!"
There was a moment of pregnant silence.
"Agreed."
"Good. Now, this new world," Percy said after he calmed down a great deal.
"The year you will be entering is 2145. Mortals have developed supernatural abilities called 'Quirks' that range from Transformation, Emission, and Mutant types. You will be in Mustafu, Japan," the Fates rattled off quickly after his temper calmed in an effort to keep it that way.
"Okay. I'm in the future, superpowers are real, and I'm in a foreign country in a world I don't even exist in," Percy said and gestured for them to continue.
"Heroism is a profession and a popular one at that. We will fill your head with knowledge of the world so you understand how society functions, as well as the Japanese language and customs. The history of quirks you will need to obtain on your own," the Fates added.
"Lodging?" Percy asked.
"You will come across a hero with a quirk that allows him to erase other people's quirks. More about said person will be revealed through brief demigod dreams," they told him, but at the mention of demigod dreams he leveled them with a patented wolf glare.
"They will be the only demigod dreams you will be receiving," they added hastily and Percy nodded firmly.
"I'm not going to get anything more out of you am I?" Percy asked and when he didn't receive an answer, he sighed heavily.
"Fine. Fuck it. Let's get this over with," he said tiredly and his form started to flicker.
"Oh! Also there are no divine entities whatsoever and we're turning you back to the age you started your journey in our world," the Fates added just before he vanished.
"MOTHERFUCK-," was all that was heard before the void was silent again.
There was another pregnant pause before one of the sisters spoke again.
"Do you think he'll be pissed that we set it up so he'll be captured by a villain?"
"Most definitely."
Flashback End
So he had been "captured" by this Kage person and trained for nearly the last two years on how to be an assassin himself. Or, more accurately, he chose to be captured.
With the revelation about his heritage and no divine entities in the new world he was in, his powers grew exponentially. He couldn't rival his father - err, fathers' power, but he was confident he could kick Triton's pompous ass.
Still, he chose to remain in his host's care for several reasons: 1. It beat being homeless. 2. While he was underfed, he didn't have to dig through the garbage for scraps. 3. He was the least stealthy demigod he knew. At least before his two years in Tartarus.
That was a fun little nugget of information to learn. Tartarus, the Primordial that is, chooses how long those imprisoned in the Pit perceive time. Two weeks for their friends on the surface, two weeks for Annabeth, two years for him. He honestly wouldn't ever understand exactly how it worked, but he chalked it up to "Godly Bullshit" and blamed Gaea for bribing Tartarus into doing it. Even if he had no evidence of that claim.
The last reason he sought no reason to leave, at least not just yet, was because whoever was supposed to find him would probably have an easier time doing it if he was in one place.
The dreams he had showed him of a hobo-man that was apparently what society called an "Underground Hero". He figured it was only a matter of time until the guy came and got him.
That being said, if it wasn't soon, he planned on just killing Kage, robbing him of everything he could use, and finding the hero on his own.
Luckily, he didn't have to wait much longer.
LINEBREAK
Aizawa Shota was frustrated. He wasn't entirely sure he had ever been so frustrated in his entire hero career, much less his life.
Almost two years ago, a kid went missing. Jackson Perseus, or as he figured he was addressed since he was American, Perseus Jackson. His mother was killed in a villain attack and his father never stepped into the picture after he discovered she was pregnant apparently.
The kid had wind-blown raven black hair and admittedly mesmerizing sea-green eyes. The thing that stood out the most to Aizawa was the lopsided smile on the kid's face that practically screamed "Problem Child".
Normally, he would've dropped the case by now. Nearly two years since his disappearance with little to no leads made it practically impossible to solve.
But something at the back of his mind was telling him that he needed to. It was almost instinctual. It felt as if this kid held all the answers to the secrets of the universe.
The only one Aizawa wanted answered was how to obtain a quality night of sleep.
Or the best cup of coffee.
Coincidentally, a second case he was working on with his long-time friend (not that he'd ever admit that out loud), Yamada Hizashi AKA Present Mic, was tracking down the villain/assassin Kage.
Kage wasn't the most dangerous person he expected to run into in his career as a hero, especially an underground one, but the man was good at what he did. Really good.
Amongst the plethora of charges against him like robbery, theft, and as always, resisting arrest, the most notable was his kill count.
34 confirmed kills consisted of some high-profile targets such as gang leaders (they suspected a rival gang out of the hit), police officers (gangs and villains were also suspected to have ordered the hit), and even heroes.
It was the reason he had gained the moniker "Kage".
But the whole reason he was up until 4 AM looking over both cases again was because he believed they were connected. It was the instinctual gut feeling again. Something about looking at the two cases side by side just screamed at him that the kid was with Kage. He just feared the state he would find the kid in when they did.
Just as he downed another cup of coffee as he had honestly stopped counting, his phone rang. Letting out an audible groan before he answered, "Mic, this better be important."
"We found him."
Aizawa felt instantly awake, out the phone on speaker as he started to collect his gear.
"Where?"
"Kamino. Yokohama. Meet me at my agency while I call the others."
"On my way," Aizawa ended the call and that instinctual feeling intensified.
The kid was there.
LINEBREAK
Percy had just finished another training session with his lovely host as he was fed a bland meal of rice and what he believed was pork of some kind. Oh how he missed the days of all you can eat brisket back at camp. He hated how he was in his now 12-year-old body again, but he hated how his ribs were visible even more.
It reminded him far too much of both Gabe and Tartarus and a scowl unconsciously made its way to his face at the thought.
Kage seemed to notice as he was chaining him up to the wall of his cell again. He wasn't quite in the Crucifixion position, but it was damn near close.
"Don't give me that look, brat. You've been progressing well, but not well enough. The sooner you improve, the sooner you can get out of those chains and I'll let you work with me," Kage spoke harshly at him and Percy returned his face to neutral.
"Good," Kage grunted as he finished latching Percy's ankles into place, the ankle cuffs being much looser than the wrists.
Percy didn't return his face to neutral because of what he had said though. He was quiet because he was sensing. Four bodies were gathered on an adjacent rooftop and another group was about a block away out of sight.
'So the heroes and likely the police are finally here. Yare yare I was getting bored, but it looks like it's about that time.'
Of course, Kage had no idea of Percy's full capabilities. He picked up from being a demigod and Annabeth (mostly Annabeth) to never show your full hand. As far as Kage knew, Percy had a simple but extremely effective hardening quirk that made him absolutely impervious to blades.
He figured it was why Kage liked him so much. Not that it mattered anymore. He was getting set free tonight. As such, a smirk worthy of the troublest of makers found its way to his face.
"Thank you for your training, sensei," Percy said but spoke the last part mockingly as Kage left his cell.
LINEBREAK
"You're positive this is where he is?" Aizawa asked as he was standing on a neighboring rooftop to Kage's hideout. With him was Present Mic, his senpai (though he never did and never would call her that), Midnight AKA Kayama Nemuri, and Edgeshot AKA Kamihara Shinya.
Edgeshot was a last minute addition to the raid and more for precaution than anything. Kage was well established as an assassin that primarily used blades, so they thought ahead to have the Ninja Hero himself on board.
"This is where our intel points to," Mic said in a surprisingly hushed tone that was still loud enough to get on Aizawa's nerves.
"And it's just him?" Midnight followed up.
"He isn't known to work with anyone else. All the eye witness accounts we have, which admittedly aren't many, stated that he was in and out quickly, quietly, and by himself. Uses his short range projectile quirk along with his speed, stealth, and swordsmanship," Aizawa responded back this time.
"Fitting for an assassin, but not any less dangerous. We will have to expect the unexpected if we wish to take him down," Edgeshot added.
"Detective Naomasa on standby?" Aizawa asked.
"Waiting for us to subdue him," Mic answered easily.
There was a moment of silence before Aizawa spoke up again.
"He's here too."
Edgeshot and Midnight looked at him with puzzled expressions, but Mic knew who he was walking about.
"The kid?"
Aizawa just nodded and said, "Let's get this over with and search for the kid later. Kage comes first."
LINEBREAK
Percy heard the telltale sounds of the fight even though he felt it through the water in the air and their bodies in far more detail. Part of him was curious as to why they brought four heroes to help capture one man, but he couldn't deny that Kage was skilled for a mortal.
Of course, Percy had also been purposely holding back by a significant margin during their training so as to stall for time and also avoid going out on hits with the man. And that was without even using his "quirk". Again, he could've easily run had that been the case, but where would he have gone after that?
He resolved himself to putting his trust in the Fates one final time before he was finally rid of them and it was paying off.
He must've gotten lost in his thoughts for a moment because the noise from the fighting had ceased and he could sense them gathered outside his cell.
LINEBREAK
Kage took slightly more to subdue than Aizawa would've liked, but admittedly his quirk wasn't as useful as he had hoped. Kage had clearly trained rigorously as even with his quirk erased, his throws were frighteningly accurate.
Edgeshot was a godsend of a last minute addition. While he wasn't able to sneak close enough to strike (again Kage was clearly well trained) he easily deflected any projectiles (kunai, knives, a pair of scissors even) that got too close for comfort.
With Edgeshot having held the defense, Aizawa himself provided an adequate distraction for Mic's quirk. The vocal blast didn't stop him for long, but it threw him off balance enough for both Aizawa and Edgeshot to contain him and allow Midnight to put him to sleep.
Naomasa and his boys were called in and Kage was shipped off to prison while the others started to search for anything else of importance. Weapons and money were found which was standard for a man of Kage's notoriety, but Aizawa was on a one-track mind.
'Where's the kid?'
And sure enough, they found the cell.
LINEBREAK
The door opened and Percy looked at the heroes that came to get him out. The first he noticed was what he guessed was this world and time's equivalent of a ninja with oddly angular silver hair. He wasn't overly familiar with any of the pro heroes outside of All Might and Endeavor.
The former because society practically worships him. Percy just thinks he looks like a buffoon. The latter of the two has a glare that not even the new demigods would bat an eye at and walks around literally on fire. Percy thinks he's a dumbass.
The second hero he noticed was a woman with bushy black hair that was tufted at odd intervals reminiscent of a Christmas tree and a severe BDSM complex. How the hell anyone would let a hero dress like that in public was beyond him.
The third was some bizarre blonde punk rock cockatoo with a literal sound system on his neck. Percy didn't really know what to make of that, but the last hero was the one that his eyes settled on.
Long, unkempt dark hair, bloodshot eyes with matching eyebags, and a scarf that, while practical, didn't look like it'd do a damn thing for the cold.
A patented trouble maker smirk formed on his lips at the sight.
"Bout time you got here, Hobo-man."
LINEBREAK
They opened the cell to see the kid chained in a crucified position on the back wall. His thin arms were outstretched wide, but not stretched taught. His thin legs were dangling loosely, but Aizawa noticed that there was significantly more slack on the chains there.
'Must let him stretch his legs while still being chained,' was the first thought in Aizawa's mind.
His ribs were easily visible from malnutrition and his torso had numerous scars on it. Scars that would've looked horrendous on a grown man, but looked even worse on a child.
Yet despite that, there was a completely unconcerned air about the kid. Almost two years in captivity would make anyone skittish, afraid of contact, and most certainly strangers, even if they were heroes.
The kid was none of those things.
"Bout time you got here, Hobo-man."
The kid's voice seemed to snap all of them out of their trance, yet none of them felt like they could move.
"Are you Jackson Perseus?" Aizawa heard himself ask and noticed when the kid grimaced.
"Call me Percy. Perseus is a mouthful," he said easily as if being chained to a wall was an everyday occurance.
Then the kid's words caught up to him again.
"What do you mean 'bout time'?"
"Part of my quirk. I get prophetic dreams of important events in my life. I saw you in the gods awful banana sleeping bag, with a Ratman, and then tonight when you would be here, all about a week and a half ago," the kid said easily.
'What an interesting quirk,' Aizawa thought and missed one of the others voicing it.
"It has its uses, but it's mostly annoying," Percy replied.
There was a pause in the conversation.
"So who's the modern ninja, the dominatrix, and the punk rock cockatoo?" Percy asked and once again broke them out of their stupor. Any other time, Aizawa would've appreciated the digs at his friends, but tonight was already going completely off the rails from what he had expected.
"I'm the Ninja Hero: Edgeshot."
"The R-Rated Hero: Midnight little boy."
Percy snorted at that.
"I'm the Voice Hero: Present Mic little listener. Eraserhead here has been looking for you for a long time," Mic said with a smile, but got stifled chuckles and an occasional snort.
"Eraserhead? That's a horrible name hobo-man," Percy said and shook his head.
"Let's get you out of here," Aizawa said and started to approach the kid he had finally found after nearly two years, only to see the kid lift himself up in his wrist cuffs.
"Kid, don't!" Midnight started to say as Percy flexed against the chains and processed to rip them out of the wall and land nimbly on the stone floor.
All four veteran heroes were gobsmacked at the action. So godsmaked that they didn't unfreeze until Percy broke the cuffs around his ankles and left the cuffs with excess chains around his wrists.
Percy then stood tall - or, as tall as he could for his age (he was happy to note that he was taller as a 12-year-old this time around despite the malnutrition) and groaned along with the numerous satisfying clicks and pops of his sore muscles and bones as he stretched.
"Can I get food? I'm dying for a burger," Percy said and gave them a cheeky grin.
'Yup. This is definitely a Problem Child.'
Chapter I End
Updates will be sporadic as all hell first and foremost. It will loosely follow canon likely bouncing back and forth between Percy, Deku, and Aizawa centered. Percy will be rather OP within your typical fanfiction justification bullshit. I know it's a cop out to do it, but I just thoroughly enjoy the idea of a cynical Percy that, while still striving to be overall good, isn't putting up with any shit in the BNHA universe and has more power than he strictly needs.
Percy will meet Deku at Aldera about a year before canon and believe and train him (anime training logic where he's training camp level around the start fighting style-wise and around 20% OFA:FC in short bursts, but hovers around 10-15% normally). Beach cleaning is started sooner so he has 3 months or so to learn OFA and FC.
Percy is mentally older by about 5 years (2 years in the Pit via Godly and Fanfiction bullshit. I know it's bullshit, but I don't care) and it shows. Aizawa sends him to school solely to try and make friends/feel normal bc he's not heartless. Percy is pretty much bestfriends with Nezu.
Not sure I'll ship anyone but leaning toward PercyxNejire.
