A.N. — Like Tiberius two days ago, this old guy (a good friend of his) is a one-book fellow. He, however, gets on ff.n's character list. This little run of no-name folks is to offset the rather loaded slate coming at the end of the month.
203. Professor Tofty
Tiberius had told him of it, but witnessing Harry Potter's Patronus in person was something else.
Seeing the spectral stag was one of the few times in Tofty's long examining career that he was truly taken aback by someone's spellwork. He was normally the one settling down nervous students. Instead, Harry Potter was asking Tofty if he was okay and if he was free to go. Numbly, Tofty nodded.
It had been as if James Potter had risen from the grave for the aged tester. The Patronus was a comforting spell, but for Tofty, it tore scabs off sore memories.
