'Contraxia' appears on the screen.
People are partying, Howard the Duck is talking to someone. He says 'you're out of luck until you've gone duck.'
"I see he's escaped the collector." Thor said.
Yondu is getting dressed. The bot next to him turns herself off.
"What is that?" Scott asked.
"It's uh... it's a love bot." Quill answered, not really wanting to go into the details especially since there were children present.
Tullk calls Yondu down.
Yondu leaves the room, now fully dressed.
Starkar is talking with some people about his wife.
"He looks like Sylvester Stallone." Tony commented.
"He kind of does." Bruce agreed.
Yondu greets Stakar, hits his chest twice and says it's been some time.
Stakar says it seems like the establishment is the wrong kind of disreputable, then he walks away.
"He doesn't seem very happy with Yondu..." Carol said.
Stakar says that there's 100 Ravager factions and he's lost 99% of them by serving one.
A woman begs him to stay. Stakar tells her to go away.
Yondu smashes a drink and tells Stakar that he can go to hell.
"Here we go." Quill muttered.
Yondu says he doesn't care what Stakar thinks of him.
Stakar asks why he's following them.
Yondu tells him to listen to what he has to say.
Stakar says he doesn't have to because Yondu betrayed the code. He says ravagers don't deal in kids.
"That's why he's pissed at Yondu?" Tony asked.
Yondu says he told him he didn't know what was going on.
Stakar says he don't know because he didn't want to and it made him rich.
"True, but also... not true." Quill said.
Yondu says he demands a seat at the table and he wears the flames the same as Stakar does.
Stakar says Yondu may dress like them but he'll never hear the Horns of Freedom when he dies and the Colors of Ogord will never flash over his grave.
"That's harsh." May said.
"Yeah." Everyone agreed.
Stakar says Yondu is wrong if he thinks he takes pleasure in exiling him. He says Yondu broke all of their hearts, then leaves.
"Wow."
Taserface calls Yondu pathetic and says that first Quill betrayed them and then Yondu let him go scot-free. He says they followed him because he wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done. He says it seems like Yondu is going soft.
"Is that such a bad thing?" Wanda asked.
"To them it was." Quill answered.
Kraglin asks why Taserface is whispering of Yondu is so soft.
"Damn, knocked him down real quick." Ned said.
Taserface says Kraglin knows he's right.
A ravager tells Taserface to be careful with what he says about their captain.
The Sovereign show up and two people roll out a carpet for Ayesha.
"Pretentious much." Rocket muttered.
Ayesha tells Yondu that she has a proposition for him.
"She wants Yondu to find you guys I'm guessing." Valkyrie said to the Guardians, who nodded in response.
Ego, Mantis and the Guardians are sitting by a fire. Ego tells Quill that he hired Yondu to pick him up when Meredith died, but Yondu had kept him instead of returning him. He says he has no clue why Yondu kept him.
"Thank god he did." Quill said.
Quill says it was because he was a skinny little kid who could fit into places that adults couldn't and it made it easier for thieving.
Ego says he's been trying to track him down ever since.
Drax says he thought Yondu was Quill's father.
"Well he was... in a way." Quill said.
Quill tells Drax they've been together the whole time and he actually thought Yondu was his blood relative.
Drax says they look exactly alike.
"How!?" Everyone asked.
Rocket says one of them is blue.
Drax points at Quill.
"He's an even bigger idiot than I thought." Rhodey said.
Quill says Yondu isn't his father. He says Yondu was the one who abducted him and kicked the crap out if him so he could learn how to fight and kept him in terror by threatening to eat him.
Ego calls Yondu a son of a bitch.
"Pretty high and mighty coming from the man who killed all of his other offspring." Gamora muttered so no one outside her immediate vicinity could hear.
Gamora asks Ego how he located them.
Ego says that even where he resides past the edge of what's known they've heard the tell of the man they call Star-Lord and asks if they should head there now and Quill's associates can come too including Rocket and he calls Rocket a triangle faced monkey.
"Seriously? Do any of these people not know what a raccoon is?" Sam asked.
He promises them that it's not like any place they've ever seen and he can explain Quill's heritage there.
"Why can't he just tell you your heritage now?" Steve asked.
"You'll see." Quill said.
Ego says he can finally get to be the father he always wanted to be, then tells Quill to excuse him because he has to take a whiz. He walks off.
"Didn't need to know that." Bucky said.
Quill says he isn't buying it.
Gamora says they should take a walk.
Later, Mantis introduces herself to Drax with a smile.
Drax asks what she's doing.
Mantis says she's smiling and says she hears it's thing to do to make people like you.
"Maybe you should work on your smile a bit." Valkyrie suggested.
Drax says it isn't if she does it like that.
"True."
Mantis says she was raised alone on Ego's planet and she doesn't understand the intricacies of social interaction.
"Well, I don't think Drax of all people is where you should go for help with that." Hope said.
Mantis asks Drax if she can pet Rocket, and calls him a puppy and adorable.
"Adorable?" Rocket asked.
"How is Rocket adorable?" Gamora asked.
Drax says she can. Mantis goes to touch Rocket but he tries to bite her. Drax laughs.
"Drax, that was rude." Quill said.
Drax says that was a practical joke.
Mantis laughs too and says she liked it very much.
Drax says he just made it up.
"Jokes shouldn't injure people." Steve sighed.
"Get with the times, Steve." Tony said.
Quill and Gamora are walking. Quill is ranting about Ego. He says that after all this time Ego is just going to show up and want to be his dad all of a sudden.
Gamora says she hears him.
Quill says it could be a trap by the Kree purists or Ravagers.
"It was." Quill sighed. "But not by them."
Quill says they both want them dead.
Gamora says she knows and asks Quill about the story he told her about Zardu Hasselfrau.
"Zardu Hasselfrau?" Scott asked. "Who's that?"
Quill asks who.
Gamora says he owned a magic boat.
"What?"
Quill asks if she means David Hasselhoff.
"Oh!" Everyone collectively realized.
Quill says he didn't have a magic boat but he had a talking car.
Gamora asks why the car talked.
Quill says it was to help him fight crime and be supportive.
"I miss that show." Tony said.
"You and me both." Scott said.
Gamora says Quill carried a picture of him around as a child and tell the other children that he was his father but he was out of town.
Quill says he would be shooting Knight Rider or touring with his band in Germany
"Wait, is that true?" Maria asked.
"Yeah." Quill sighed.
Quill tells Gamora that he told her that when he was drunk and asks why she's bringing it up now.
Gamora says she loves the story.
Quill says he hates the story because it's sad.
"Yeah, I agree." Peter said.
Quill says he used to see all the other kids playing catch with their dads and he wanted that more than anything in the world.
A few people in the room (Clint, Bruce and Tony.) found that they could relate to Quill's statement, the also wanted that from their fathers.
Gamora says that's her point and says that Ego could be his Hasselhoff, and says that they can kill him if he ends up being evil.
"Don't make it sound so easy." Rocket said, sarcastically.
Gamora and Nebula are back on the ship. Rocket is repairing the ship. Nebula asks if Gamora's leaving her with Rocket and calls him a fox.
"Not a fox, but I think that might be the closest that anyone's gotten to what he actually is." Natasha said.
Gamora says Rocket isn't a fox and tells Rocket to shoot Nebula if she does anything suspicious or if he feels like it.
"Wow, okay." Ned said.
Gamora bends down to face a sad Groot. She tells him that it'll only be a couple of days and they'll be back before Rocket finishes the ship. She walks off. Groot waves.
"Awww." Everyone cooed. Groot was just too cute not no coo at.
Drax and Quill are talking. Drax asks him what will happen if the Sovereign come.
Quill says there's no way for them to know where they are.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that." Vision said.
Drax says he's uncertain about parting ways.
Quill says Drax is like an old woman.
"He kinda is." Clint agreed.
Drax asks if it's because he's wise.
"Sure, let's go with that." Quill said, sarcastically, even though he knew Drax would take him seriously.
Gamora asks Drax why he has so much luggage.
Drax says he doesn't want Groot playing with his things.
Rocket tells Quill that he hopes his dad isn't as much of a dick as he is and calls him orphan boy.
"He was worse, he was a lot worse." Quill said.
Quill asks Rocket is his goal is to get everyone to hate him, and tells him that it's working.
"You aren't wrong." Fury said.
'The Chain' by fleetwood Mac starts playing. Drax, Gamora and Quill board Ego's ship and leave Berhert.
"You're going with him!?" Bruce asked, incredulously.
On the ship, Mantis puts Ego to sleep.
Quill takes out a picture of David Hasselhoff.
"You still have it?" Sam asked.
Mantis, Drax and Quill are sitting. Quill asks Mantis if her can ask her a personal question.
Mantis says no one has ever asked her a personal question before.
Quill asks Mantis what her antenne are for.
Mantis asks if he means their purpose.
Drax says that he and Quill have a bet.
"Well, you're not supposed to tell her that." Pepper said.
Gamora walks in. Quill says Drax wasn't supposed to tell Mantis about the bet.
Drax says he thinks that the antenne keep mantis from being decapitated by low doorways.
"Why would they be for feeling doorways?" Natasha asked.
Quill says that if they're for anything other than not being decapitated by doorways he wins.
Mantis says her antenne aren't for feeling doorways.
"And Quill wins." Tony said.
"Was there any doubt? Like why would they be for doorway warnings?" Rhodey asked.
Mantis says she thinks they have something to do with her empathic abilities.
"You're an empath?" Thor asked.
"I am." Mantis said.
Gamora asks what the abilities are.
Mantis says if she touches someone she can feel their feelings.
"Really? That's so cool." Shuri said.
"Yeah." Peter agreed.
Quill asks if she reads minds.
Mantis says telepaths know thoughts and empaths feel feelings and emotions.
"Interesting."
Mantis touches Quill's arm and her antenne light up. She says Quill feels love.
Quill says he feels a general love for everyone.
Mantis says he feels Romantic and sexual love for Gamora. Quill moves his arm.
Gamora and Quill both looked around awkwardly.
Drax laughs and says Mantis just told everyone Quill's deepest darkest secret and he must be so embarrassed.
"What are you? 5?" Maria asked.
Quill says Drax is overreacting.
"He is."
Drax tells Mantis to read his emotions. Mantis does and joins in on the laughter and says she's never felt such humor.
"Great." Quill sighed.
Gamora touches his arm. "Poor Peter." She said.
Quill says this is unbelievably uncool.
Mantis goes to touch Gamora. Gamora says if she touches her the only thing she would feel is a broken jaw.
"Harsh." Clint said.
Gamora turned to Mantis. "I'm Sorry. I didn't mean to be so rude about it." She said.
Mantis says she can also alter emotions to an extent.
Quill asks like what.
Mantis says that if she touches someone who's sad she can ease them into contentment for a short while and she can make a stubborn person complainant.
"That's really cool." Ned said.
She says she mostly uses it to help Ego sleep. She says he lies awake at night thinking about his progeny.
"His progeny?" Sam asked. "Why?"
"You'll see." Gamora said.
"So secretive." Sam commented.
Drax tells her to so one of those on him.
Mantis touches his forehead and tells him to sleep. Drax passes out and starts snoring.
Everyone burst out laughing.
"Your powers are amazing." Pepper said to Mantis.
On Berhert, 'Southern Nights' by Glen Campbell is playing.
Rocket is still fixing the ship. From a distance, Kraglin and other Ravagers watch.
"Oh no."
A group of Ravagers surrounds the ship. One of them squashes a bug and eats it.
Everyone looked disgusted by that.
Rocket sings along to the song and says he loves it. One of the ravagers steps on something and it triggers some tranquilizers which get fired from the trees.
"Nice."
Groot watches and Nebula wakes up. Rocket singing to the song is revealed to be a recording.
"Clever." Clint said.
Rocket is sitting in a tree watching some ravagers. He jumps in the trees and the ravagers start shooting. Rocket sets off a shockwave bomb then sends the group into the air, when they fall back down he sets it off again and laughs.
Everyone started laughing along with on-screen Rocket.
Rocket watches another group of ravagers, then jumps on them and places devices on each of their heads. He jumps into a tree and sets the devices off, the ravagers get electrocuted.
Everyone cringed in sympathy for the ones who got electrocuted, that looked painful.
Rocket jumps from the tree. 2 Ravagers find him and one says he isn't so tough without his toys.
"We'll see about that." Rocket said.
Rocket takes out one of the ravagers, before jumping onto the other one and repeatedly punches him in the face.
Everyone laughed.
Yondu whistles and his arrow stops just before hitting Rocket in the face.
"Damn it."
Yondu and some more Ravagers walk up to him, Rocket puts his hands up. Yondu greets him and calls him a rat.
Rocket asks him how its going and calls him a blue idiot.
Yondu says it isn't bad and they have a pretty good gig with a golden gal with a high opinion of herself.
"The stuck up Sovereign High Priestess." Quill said.
Yondu says she's offered them a large sum to hand Rocket and his pals over to her because she wants to kill them.
"And he's just going to hand you over to be killed?" Maria asked.
In the ship, Nebula tells Groot that there's too many ravagers and Rocket needs her help. She tells Groot that he needs to get her out of the bonds if he cares about Rocket.
"Really, sister?" Gamora asked.
Nebula says they're going to kill Rocket.
"True... sort of." Hope said.
Yondu tells Rocket that it was easy to find him because he put a tracer on the ship during the war on Xandar.
Everyone galred at Yondu.
Rocket tells Yondu to give him his word that he won't hurt Groot and he'll tell him where the batteries are.
Yondu says that his word doesn't mean squat.
"Course it doesn't." Sam said.
Yondu says if it did he'd hand them over.
"What?" Steve asked. "He's not gonna give you to the Sovereign?"
Taserface questions Yondu. Yondu says they'll take the batteries and says that they're worth about a quarter million on the open market.
Taserface says Ayesha offered them a million and a quarter is a third of that.
"Wow, the stupidity never ceases to amaze me." Tony said.
Yondu says a quarter isn't a third. Another Ravager says a quarter is 25.
"Yeah if you're talking about the coin or percentages." Strange said.
Gef says they can't even get a pair of boots for 25 units.
Yondu says the point is they aren't stupid enough to kill the Guardians of the Galaxy.
"Well... based off of what I just heard, some of them might be." Rocket said.
Yondu says the whole Nova Corps would be on them.
Kraglin says that isn't right. He tells Yondu that he needs to say it one time and says that no matter how many times Quill betrays him he protects him like the rest of them don't matter.
"He gave in to the peer pressure." Steve sighed.
The ravagers agree. Kraglin says he's the one who sticks up for Yondu.
A ravager tells Kraglin to take it easy.
Taserface says Yondu's gone soft and he supposes it's time for a change in leadership.
"Is now really the best time for that argument?" Peggy asked.
They all cock their guns. Yondu raises his arrow. A ravager tells everyone to put their guns down.
Rocket says there must be a peaceful revolution to this or even a violent one where he's standing somewhere else.
"Smart."
Yondu's fin gets shot at and destroyed, he loses consciousness and falls. Nebula is standing behind him with a gun in her hand. She greets the Ravagers and takes a bite of the yaro root before spitting it out and saying it isn't ripe.
"Told you." Gamora said.
