It was deep into the night. It was raining and thundering outside. All of Class 1-A was probably cramming desperately for the exam that was about to come, but Toru instead patiently waited for her Master's phone call, like a dog awaiting it's master.
Once the phone rang, she immediately picked it up. She heard All for One's smooth voice. "What news do you have for me today?" He asked.
"I have figured out when the summer training camp is taking place. It's the middle of summer…" She relayed the date to him. "To go to the summer training camp, a passing score is required in the written and practical exam."
"You know your next orders then." All for One told her. "Pass at all costs!"
"Yes, sir!" Toru saluted despite him not being there to see her. "Do you need me to try and help Bakugo to ensure he passes as well?"
Likely Aizawa intends to pair him with Midoriya in the practical. And although Midoriya's willing to collaborate with others, Bakugo's personality makes it so he won't work with Midoriya no matter what and will fail despite his desire to 'always win.'
"No need. From what I've seen Bakugo wouldn't appreciate help. He wants to win at all costs. And if he does fail it just means we can capture him at his home address with less witnesses. It won't be quite as flashy and it's only a last resort, but we could still capture him." All for One explained.
"Now tell me, Toru, about this test you have to pass. What have you learned about the practical and how was your score in the last mid-term?" All for One asked.
Toru felt a warmness buzz in her lower stomach. On TV this was something that people's parents asked them. They always pushed their children to pass school tests. It didn't make much sense, but it was nice to think about.
"I was 16th in class in the last mid-term. I was trying to be unnoticeable and average, but I guess I underestimated hero students-" Toru explained.
"Well…We can't have that. If you're too dumb it will create questions amongst the heroes. Like how could someone so unintelligent make it into our hero school?" All for One asked. "You have to pretend to rely on your intelligence instead of strength as an invisible student." All for One reminded. "So, I expect you to pass the next exam with flying colors to ensure that you make it to the training camp and nobody's suspicious of you."
"Okay!" Toru agreed.
"This is why I'm the one making plans…When left to your own devises you operate stupidly which could give away your cover. It was my fault for not being more specific in your orders." All for One sighed. Clearly disappointed.
Toru felt shame. "I'll do your orders better next time. I'm sure nobody will be suspicious of me then."
"See that you do. Now tell me about the practical." All for One ordered.
"It will be a paired exam. I've discovered that Aizawa—I mean, Eraserhead, plans to pair up the students who do the worst together to teach collaboration." Toru explained.
"And who do you do the worst with?" All for One asked. "If you've been following the plan, you should have no enemies and everyone should get along with you." He scolded.
"Most of them do! And don't worry, Master! I've already ensured that student I do worst with won't be paired with me." Toru boasted.
"Oh? And how did you do that?" All for One sounded curious. "It defeats the purpose of Eraserhead's precious test if you aren't paired with someone you dislike."
"The student I do worst with is named Mineta. He sexually harasses all the girls in the class." Toru explained. She heard no audible change to All for One's breathing from that confession, so she continued. "I lectured Eraserhead on how scared and uncomfortable I was and played on his sympathies. Now he feels guilty and so he agreed to not pair us together to appease me. I totally manipulated him and now my biggest obstacle won't be a problem!" Toru excitedly boasted.
All for One did not praise her. "Ah yes, Heroes were like that in my day too. They wanted to pretend they were helping by solving things without making any big waves. One-time ways to help instead of making the big and unpopular decisions that solved the issue entirely."
Toru nodded. She had heard many times about how All for One had stolen the quirks of people who were frightened of their own quirk, or no longer wanted it, and instead gave it to someone in need. And her poor Master had been labeled a 'villain' and 'criminal' by his own brother!
"It seems Eraserhead though is easily exploitable. Good on you for finding his weakness. Continue." All for One ordered.
Toru nodded. "It seems like Class A in particular will be battling the teachers for our practical. They'll have a handicap to restrict their movement but I'm unsure how this will affect people like the principal who relies on his intelligence to fight."
All for One didn't explain how. Instead, he sounded like he was thinking. "Hmm…. So, you'll be battling a teacher? I should not need to repeat myself. Ensure your partner and you have an unmistakable victory. Losing is not an option."
My partner too, huh? All right. I suppose that makes sense, so nobody can point out any technicalities that didn't let me win. Toru nodded. "Yes, sir!"
"Although…In the unlikely event that you have to face All Might…." All for One sounded unconfident that Toru would win, and pessimistic.
That makes sense. There's no way I could defeat All Might if Master couldn't defeat him! All Might is a monster; he disabled and maimed my poor Master. She hadn't seen the battle, but she had heard about it. And All for One's condition afterwards spoke for itself. His eyes, his lungs, so much had been taken from him.
"I'd…Probably lose against All Might." Toru admitted. "I'm just not up to his level. But! But, but, but! I'd definitely kick him several times in the crotch before losing!" Toru assured. "He can't see my attacks because I'm invisible! Nor would he probably expect a student to go for the crotch! I'd get some revenge for you, Master!"
All for One actually snorted but suppressed a chuckle at that. "Although that sounds incredibly amusing, let's hope you aren't paired against All Might."
"I don't think I will be! All Might's like top brass, super famous, and I think the faculty tends to forget about me since I'm just an invisible girl. Students that are seen as more powerful and important will probably be paired against him. Like Bakugo, Todoroki, Tokoyami…. Or even Midoriya!" Toru explained. "It would be clearly unfair if they paired the weak little average invisible girl against the Top hero in the world."
"Hopefully, your deduction proves correct." All For One agreed. "With that in mind, which of the teachers would you have problems beating in the exam? We'll work on your training and exercises with them in mind."
Toru thought. I've already figured out at USJ that Ectoplasm can't detect me even if there's 30 of him. I'm wearing a special perfume to try to avoid Hound Dog's detection. I've heard Midnight's pheromones affect mostly men. Power loader and Cementoss mostly create obstacles and I could climb and avoid those…The principal is intelligent and could pose a problem, but if I manage to locate and take him out first I could have a chance…And Aizawa is a joke since his quirk eliminates what he can see, and he can't see me. He'd be an easy pass.
"Just Present Mic, I think!" Toru responded after thinking it through. "I have little defense against sound-based attacks besides just powering through the pain."
"What about Snipe? Doesn't he have a literal gun." All for One recalled.
"It would appear at first glance that I'm the most disadvantaged against Snipe! After all he can't see me and might accidentally cause a fatal injury to me. But I'm very good at dodging and I'm pretty sure if he did cause a fatal injury, the news would definitely jump on that and tear UA apart. Can you imagine the headlines of 'teacher killed and shot student?"
"It would cause a problem to hero society. That would be very interesting." All for One responded, talking very casually about Toru's death.
"Mmhmm! For that reason, I think UA would likely tell Snipe not to shoot and kill the students in the exam! So, if paired against me he'd have to hold back a lot. I'd be his worst nightmare, not the other way around." Toru explained.
"Good. So only one teacher poses a real problem. For now, to train against Present Mic let's have you listen to a lot of loud sound and music and build up your tolerance. Go to Recovery girl frequently to heal your eardrum." All for One told her. "Sound has a bigger problem traveling through the ground than the air, so practice your digging and tunneling even though it doesn't necessarily benefit your quirk. But mostly work on your pain tolerance. Even when your ears are bleeding don't cry out."
"Okay." Toru agreed. She had a very strong pain tolerance, but she hadn't really practiced sound based attacks. She knew how important it was to not make a sound, but practicing more wasn't a bad idea. "I will torment my ears until they build up a high enough tolerance to the pain!"
"Good." All for One responded. "Now…Going into the Summer Camp, I won't be the one to relay you your orders. I'm leaving the planning up to Shigaraki to observe what his plans are like and train him. When the time comes, I would like you to receive your new orders from Shigaraki directly."
Toru nodded. She wasn't used to receiving Shigaraki's orders, but if that's what All for One wanted, she'd listen. "Are there any other orders you have for me?" She asked.
"Yes. Quite a few. After the final exam I want you to go to the mall and purchase a new cell phone. I will add the money into your funds."
Toru was confused. Does Master want me to be more hip?
"Look with your friends at some nice top of the line, electronics stores. Then decide it's too expensive and go to a secondhand shop." All for One gave her the exact mall address and name of the secondhand shop. "I will have the clerk sell you a particular cellphone that Shigaraki has owned at some point. He'll be able to easily use the 'find my phone gps' feature to pinpoint your location at the camp." All for One explained.
"So that's how I'm signaling my location?" Toru asked. "I was kinda thinking you might ask me to bend the light to make a rainbow or something. With the end of the rainbow being the pot of gold that's the summer camp."
All for One did chuckle, but it wasn't a laugh that was with her this time. "Oh Toru… This is why I'm the thinker here. You're always proving why tools shouldn't think. But that's all right. Your abilities come from your quirk and stealth, not your brain." All for One reassured.
"Sorry…" Toru apologized. She was getting too used to saying the first dumb thing on her mind as a bubbly girl in a hero classroom.
"The cellphone ensures that if the heroes investigate all the students phones and realize you were the traitor it's an accidental betrayal. You just happened to buy a phone owned by a villain. Nothing is purposeful and you aren't held responsible." All for One explained.
It was a good plan.
"Find one of your classmates phone numbers and phone passwords just in case though. If we can make someone else a patsy, we will." All for One told her.
"Oh! I already have this." Toru pulled out her phone and recited Mineta's phone number. "His password is 5318008." She had heard Mina making fun of it. It was essentially boobies after all.
"…" All for One did not comment on that. "All right, then. From what it sounds like you'll have a week or two before the summer camp for vacation. During this time, I would like you to be with Shigaraki. Be fully invisible at all times, because he'll be gathering new allies due to the publicity garnered by the Stain video. There is no need to expose your existence to them. But I would like you to observe them."
"Spy on Shigaraki's new recruits. Got it." Toru agreed.
"If Shigaraki trusts a few of them enough to let you meet a couple of them, obey these commands. Shigaraki must gain good allies." All for One requested.
Toru nodded.
"Now…Going back to the buying a cellphone at the mall part of the plan. Shigaraki will be selling his used phone earlier in the day. He's planning to stick around the mall-"
"Huh? Why? Doesn't he usually buy his video games online? You want me to avoid him, right-?" Toru asked.
"Not exactly." All for One responded. "Shigaraki wishes to meet Midoriya. The boy who exploded his fingers from the sports festival. He has asked me to set up a meeting, and I will be asking you to set that up. When you go to the mall after exams create a good atmosphere to make your classmates agree to come with you to the mall. Ensure Midoriya is one of those classmates. Then make sure the class splits up to shop so Shigaraki can make contact with Midoriya." All for One explained.
"Is Midoriya a potential recruit?" Toru asked. Why the interest in Midoriya?
"No. He is not. My student Shigaraki…Has found a potential rival, I think. Think of him as what All Might is for me. It's a very personal hate he's starting to grow." All for One responded.
Why Midoriya though? Is it because he got in the way in USJ? Is it because he's a big All Might fan? Or is it his cleverness? She wasn't sure what had drawn in Shigaraki.
"My final order for today, Toru, is that from now on I will require you to start practicing sleeping in the nude." All for One ordered.
Toru did a double take. "Huh?"
"I know you don't particularly like this. Which is why I require you to practice. I'll need you to sleep fully invisible at the summer camp, so you can sneak out of your bed at night without notice if Shigaraki requires you."
"Y-yes." Toru responded. Sleeping naked reminded her of being trash, forgotten, alone, in a ditch. It was cold, lonely, and in a more public setting frightening because it made her vulnerable. "Your orders are loud and clear, Master. I will do exactly as you say."
She'd become the sort of quirky girl who slept naked in public if that was what he required.
She didn't need to think. All she needed was to execute All for One's orders perfectly.
Toru started listening to music that week as high in volume as possible. While studying it was music all the time. At home, it was large amounts of music. She was going to recovery girl once a day for treatment. Every time Recovery girl scolded her for "kids these days, listening to their loud, obnoxious music! Back in my day, we didn't do that!"
It wasn't difficult for any of her classmates to notice. Most of them were too polite to ask though. Some of them were joining Toru in listening to their own loud music, like Bakugo and Aoyama. You could even hear the loud French opera from across the room. Aizawa had attempted to get them to quiet down their music, but they could not hear. So, he left the room to sleep and put his noise-cancelling headphones on.
Jiro however took it upon herself to ask, since she really liked music. She had even noticed a few of her parent's songs coming out of Toru's ears.
"Studying with music, huh? That's sometimes helpful!" Jiro smiled, during a study period. "What genres do you like?"
"She probably likes pop. That's what she's listening to most." Shoji responded, nearby. "It's so loud I had to get rid of some of my ears." He complained. "Hagakure…. Why."
Toru giggled and pulled an earbud out to hear Jiro. "I think I like all sorts of things! I've been listening to a mesh of pop, rock and metal, classical…Jazz, you name it!" She responded.
Really, I don't know much about any musical genre. I'm not listening to the notes or lyrics. Musical training wasn't part of what All for One required so it doesn't matter to me. She didn't care much for music.
Jiro nodded. "You're not picky…I like that! I can give you a few recs. It sounds like what you've been listening to… Is just basic top hits, and you're missing some hidden gems based on that! And anyway, this mesh of different genres doesn't really go with a studying vibe." Jiro explained, smartly.
"Thank you so much, Jiro! I'm glad to have your advice!" Toru told her peppily.
Jiro smiled. "…I gotta ask though, why is your music so loud? Wait…. Are you hard of hearing?" She asked, shocked because if Toru was it had never occurred to her!
"Nope." Toru responded.
Jiro breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm building up my pain tolerance to sound based attacks!" Toru responded honestly. "We have no clue after all what kinda attacks those robots will have in the practical! I want to cover all bases!"
Jiro's eyes widened. That was actually really smart. "I've heard though that they're going to be the same as the entrance exam. Unless the support class redesigns them…. Have I not been thinking about this practical hard enough?"
"I don't know what's happening!" Toru lied. "I just thought it was a good idea to be prepared just in case. Mr. Aizawa likes swinging surprises into these tests after all."
"That's so true…" Now Jiro was worried too. She shuddered. "But listening to things so loudly could seriously damage your eardrums! You shouldn't do it, even for a test!" She scolded.
"I've been visiting recovery girl everyday so that my eardrums are okay!" Toru reassured. "And I'm not trying to make my ears stronger, I'm trying to make my pain tolerance better!" Toru explained and defended, the same chipper attitude she always had.
Jiro's mouth curled into a look of concern. Toru knew that gaze in Jiro's eyes well. She had seen Kurogiri give her that look many times before. It was a 'that's not normal.' Look. Jiro's gaze seemed to also say 'are you okay?' but she knew the look.
Jiro seemed to be thinking over her words. She dropped her voice to be quieter so others wouldn't overhear her. "Experiencing pain purposefully to build up a tolerance, Hagakure…Isn't a normal part of hero training." She admitted. "It does sound smart, but you don't want Mr. Aizawa to scold you in the way he scolds Midoriya, do you?"
"I admire your dedication." Shoji said. Jiro's whisper couldn't stop his extra ears from eavesdropping and being a part of this conversation! "That does sound dangerous though. Midoriya I would think…Is not the direction you want to go in."
Everyone knew Midoriya was more of a problem student. They didn't want to be the next him.
Midoriya, who was studying and looking over notes sneezed, not hearing the conversation because of the loud death metal that Bakugo is listening to.
Jiro wasn't sure any of her words were making it through Toru's skull. So, she decided to change her tactic to logic. "The robots probably won't have sound-based attacks. And if they did, I don't think they'd use it on you." She reassured. "Why, Koda and I would probably be their targets! We have the most sound based quirks."
Oh. She makes an excellent point. Present Mic probably won't be paired against me. It would fit most if he went up against Jiro or Koda. He'd be Jiro's problem! Not hers! That meant she could probably lay off this training.
"Yeah…. Yeah…You're definitely right!" Toru said enthusiastically, not envying Jiro at all, right now. "I'll listen in a way that doesn't make my ears bleed and slowly get used to louder noises in a not harmful way." Toru offered, not completely willing to lay off the training but seeing Jiro's points.
Jiro grinned. "That's the way things should go!" She slapped Toru on the back. "I'll download you some new songs from my favorite playlists too. Don't listen to them too loud. After all you won't be able to hear the words then, and the lyrics are always so important!"
"Okay." Toru agreed, not caring at all about lyrics.
"Hmm…Let me download you some songs in English too. English songs have really helped me with my English scores in Mic's class. And it might help your grades too!" Jiro offered.
Toru waved her arms excitedly. "Thank you so much, Jiro! You're a great friend!"
"Can I have some songs too?" Shoji asked.
Jiro ignored him, since this was a conversation just Toru and her were trying to have. She eventually sighed and said yes after Shoji grew an eyeball over to peer at her.
"Are you planning to go to Yaomomo's study sessions after school?" Jiro asked Toru. "She's an amazing tutor. And from what I've seen of your grades…. Well it would probably benefit you a lot!" Jiro tried to be polite.
Toru shook her body frantically. "Yaoyorozu's super smart…. But I think I'm going to study on my own. I need a super intensive course to get ahead on this practical! And my family won't let me out of their sight. Failure isn't an option for me." Toru lied about her family. She had heard some families were really strict about studying. Perhaps that would give her an excuse about jumping up in grades.
Jiro frowned. Before Jiro could say anything more, Toru stopped her.
"Also, Yaoyorozu asked what kind of tea people like best for her study session, and I don't really know!" Toru added a bunch of bubbly nothing.
Jiro laughed. "I feel you! So, it's the richness that's turning you off. I hear ya! Her house is super big and it's a little intimidating just how rich she is." That seemed to be enough for Jiro. "Best of luck!"
"Thanks!" Toru waved, "Best of luck to you too!"
Jiro looked hopeful like she didn't really believe that Toru would succeed but didn't push it.
The only real studying with a partner Toru did for the written exam was on Sunday with Shoji during their weekly training together in the gym.
She held flashcards and asked him English vocabulary while he tried to detect her.
"There you are!" He pointed strengthening his eyes to notice the flash card. "And Mal is the root word for bad in English!" Shoji said triumphantly.
"Correct!" Toru nodded.
This isn't really helping me much, but it's fine. The only subject she really needed to work on was History since the textbooks in UA didn't match what she had been taught. It seemed to have rewritten history from a more heroic perspective deleting the parts of history All for One was in. It had even deleted his name or the rise of villainy. It confused her that she had to memorize the wrong facts or just straight up propaganda, but she memorized things, nonetheless.
It was in the library that she was stuck staring at a line in one of the history textbooks about heroes. "Some people will claim there was a mastermind behind the rise of criminals in the last century, but really the populace was scared because of the development of quirks. They needed a symbol to feel peace in their heart. That was where All Might came in and crime decreased 87%."
It just…. puzzles me so much how they could erase Master's name and existence and call it good. It's like pretending something doesn't exist and thinking that makes it non-existent then. How could anyone be so stupid to eat this up?
Despite knowing there would be no confirmation on All for One's existence, Toru still searched for it just because she couldn't fathom how hero society could be so filled with lies and stupidity. The only somewhat mentions of a criminal head were in books about online rumors though. And she didn't think those would show up on the exam.
There was some mention of All Might taking a break from hero work briefly 5 years ago after "the Toxic Chainsaw attack." Likely to recuperate. But no mention of the battle he had had with All for One. It was all replaced with this over exaggerated Toxic Chainsaw attack.
Toru approached Midoriya as she pulled another history book down. Maybe an All Might fan would be able to answer her with this blatant vague information. "Midoriya, you're an All Might fan, right?" Toru asked.
Midoriya quickly nodded, many times. "Am I? If there's a question you have about All Might, I'm your guy! I'd be happy to help you if you have some sort of question about All Might's history-I know it all, to his early years, to his most recent hits!" Midoriya said enthusiastically.
"I don't really understand how All Might decreased crime so substantially with his smile. How did he stop the rise of people afraid of mutant types? How did he defeat so many villains so quickly? Is there something I'm missing?" Toru asked, wondering if Midoriya had noticed the vagueness of their textbooks.
"All Might's famous "I am here" reassures the victims, you see—" Midoriya mimicked with a perfect All Might impression.
Toru mostly ignored him. "And there's another thing! In Hero History 101, on page 121 paragraph 4 the textbook says that some people claim there is a criminal mastermind causing all the problems in hero society, but this is just fabrications from unhappy online trolls. If it's untrue why would the textbooks mention it in a single paragraph?"
"Uhhh…Welll…." Midoriya frowned and started sweating.
"All Might broke up with his sidekick Sir Nighteye sometime after the Toxic Chainsaw Attack. Why? The textbook doesn't give a reason. Do you know?" Toru asked.
She knew the reason. She assumed the two had had a fight after All Might's injuries from All for One. But All for One hadn't been specific on what damage he had caused All Might, but it was a good guess.
"Could it be possible there really was a criminal head? Did All Might beat him? If so, why not celebrate that? Why isn't the textbook mentioning that? I'm so confused! Could you please explain, as an All Might fan, what happened?" Toru asked, wondering if an All Might fan would notice the inconsistencies.
Midoriya was trembling drowning in questions. His excitement had waned a little and he was sweating considerably but he took a deep breath. "Um…Well…Whatever happened doesn't really matter, does it? All Might's definitely defeated any villain for good if they did exist!" He reassured.
For some reason Midoriya's voice was sounding very fake. Toru narrowed her eyes.
"So, you…Think that there was some sort of criminal head and the textbooks are lying?" Toru asked.
Midoriya looked panicked. "No! I mean…If they are they just don't want anyone to be worried!" He didn't seem to see the problem of textbooks having faulty information.
"So-" Toru started.
Midoriya waved his hands up. "I mean! I've heard the theories online in All Might message boards, so I see where you're coming from, but it's definitely false! Like creepy pastas! Definitely! It's just nonsense."
Midoriya 100% sounded like he was lying. And that made Toru suspicious.
He knows about All for One. I was just trying to get him to think for himself. But instead, he definitely knows about All for One's existence. But why? Based on what I've seen in these textbooks it should be a secret. What was Midoriya hiding?
"Anyway, none of that is going to be on the test, don't worry!" Midoriya said frantically. "So don't worry about a single paragraph!"
"Okay…" Toru responded unconvinced.
Is there a connection between him and All Might? I've overheard Todoroki tell Iida he thinks Midoriya is All Might's love child or something. But All Might doesn't look anything like him, and the genetics wouldn't work out. Then did Midoriya hear things from All for One? His quirk does seem new and unpracticed…Did All for One give it to him? Did All for One send another spy in to make sure I was doing my job? What's going on? Toru became lost in thought.
Midoriya quickly changed the subject since Toru might continue badgering him with questions he didn't want to answer. "Anyway, Hagakure…I've been meaning to ask you about your quirk!" Midoriya pulled out a journal. "How does it work? Are you only invisible or are there other aspects to your quirk?" He asked excitedly.
Uh-oh. I was trying to avoid Midoriya's quirk analysis goggles. Toru recalled.
"I'm just invisible. It's a standard mutation type quirk. It's like how Ojiro has a tail, you know? I was just born invisible is all." Toru shrugged responding casually.
"…Huh. So…Why aren't you able to be detected by heat sensor technology?" Midoriya asked taking notes. "Is it like…making the light in the heat technology invisible, or is your quirk more of erasing your presence from people's minds instantly? And how did you defeat the robots in the entrance exam? And oooh ohh do you look invisible to yourself? Or are you able to turn it off and on?"
Toru sighed. Lots of questions. And she wasn't planning to answer the full details on how her quirk worked. "I was invisible to the robots' sensors, so I just climbed on them and pulled out their wiring."
"Oh, so that would suggest there's an aspect that makes you invisible to everything…Since you're invisible to security footage too and not just people." Midoriya scribbled something down. "Sorry, quirks just really excite me!"
"I do look visible to myself. I see my hand and body like you see yours." Toru confirmed, answering what he could to make him non-suspicious of her. "I only know I'm invisible because of what others have told me and their reactions. And the fact that my mother was invisible too." She recalled a small memory of being abandoned by something she couldn't see. She didn't know a single other thing about her biological mother.
"Ah! So, you can't see invisible people? But you can see yourself?" Midoriya asked.
Toru tried to weave through the bookcases to give him the clue to leave her alone. He did not take note of this and followed.
"What do you look like?" Midoriya asked, sketching a picture to himself.
"My eyes change color based on the setting I'm in. I think they reflect whatever color I'm around. Like if I'm in the forest, they're green, and if I'm near the ocean they're blue. They're probably gray or something normally. I don't know. Doesn't really matter since I'm the only one who can see them, and people can't see their own eyeballs without a mirror unless they're Shoji." She was sounding uninterested, but Midoriya was not one to pick up hints.
"That's really cool! I wonder what that could mean for your quirk!" Midoriya was super interested in this.
"I have incredibly pale skin. I don't think it soaks up sunlight properly. And I have white hair. So basically, I'm without color!" Toru responded.
"You have hair?" Midoriya must have always been imagining her bald.
"Yes." Toru pretended to sound a little insulted. Nobody could imagine she had hair for some reason. "It's long right now to cover up my back to give it some warmth when I'm maneuvering around in my hero costume. I cut it frequently though and then take supplements to have it grow faster when I need it long. It was short before school."
"Oh yeah! Hair growth supplements! I've heard some companies boast about them, how due to some quirks it can make your hair grow in a day. I thought they were only for male pattern baldness though." Midoriya nodded. He rambled to himself about supplements he had no idea were important to people and started sketching something in his journal.
"I'm going to go study now." Toru took the opportunity to successfully ditch Midoriya now that he had gotten stuck on a new tangent.
"Oh! Uhhh…Okay!" He responded as Toru left.
Midoriya's questions had been answered, but Toru was left with many new ones.
I wanted to start have the details or plans that happen for the summer training camp happen way earlier than the summer training camp because the villains are already planning this attack instead of it being a surprise.
Also about the timeline of the summer training camp! I'm going by anime filler rules, I know in at least manga canon I'm pretty sure the finals finished and instead of a vacation they immediately transitioned into the summer training camp, but based on the pool episode and the first movie, I assume that they had some vacation before the summer training camp? I'm unsure of how long that vacation was though, possibly because it wasn't necessarily canon. But I am choosing to take that as "they had a week or two vacation before the summer training camp."
