Chapter 6

The Pale - Fredas 02 Frostfall 202 of the Fourth era

The night sky was clear allowing Asia to see the stars and the northern lights. She and Edzard had left Winterhold five days ago, had been lucky and hadn't encountered any of the infamous snowstorms in the Pale and Winterhold regions. They were currently camping at the edge of the path that leads to Loreio's farm.

"Ed, how much longer to get there?" Asia asked as she stopped looking at the stars and looked at his friend, who was preparing dinner over the campfire.

"Not much, if we're lucky tomorrow we'll get to the border with Whiterun" Edzard replied, while he continued cooking dinner, which would be a rabbit stew "After that the journey will be faster."

Asia nodded upon hearing that. While she was enjoying traveling, she had gotten bored of seeing snowy fields for the past few days.

"Hey Ed, how do you know we won't be attacked by bandits."

"That's easy, I've put up a detection barrier, it will alert me to any danger that threatens us."

When dinner was ready, Asia put the book she had been reading aside and went to serve the stew on two plates. After dinner they both sat down and began to look at the stars. After this, go to their respective tents to sleep.

Asia was lying in his sleeping bag as he recalled the farewell he had with his friends in the school of Winterhold.

Flashback

"So, you're going with the Archmagi to the city of Whiterun ?" Gyda asked as she watched Asia pack her bags because the next day she would be leaving with Edzard.

"Yes, I have already spoken with the teacher Colette and she has given her permission" Asia replied as she continued folding her clothes.

'It's not like she has much to say' Asia thought remembering that the teacher was a bit upset when she found out that she was leaving.

"Asia, can you do us a favor?" Fridda asked joining her sister's conversation with Asia.

"Of course" Asia replied as she stopped looking at her belongings and looked at her friend. When Fridda heard the answer, she smiled and handed Asia a letter.

"You can deliver this to our mother."

Asia nodded as she took the letter. After that, both girls helped Asia pack her bags and chatted until late at night, before heading to their respective bedrooms to rest. The next day the whole class of the restoration school was present to see her off. For Asia this was very emotional, because she had never had a goodbye like this before.

End of Flashback

However, Asia's memory lane tour was interrupted when she was suddenly thrown from her tent outside. When Asia hit the ground she tried to scream, only to be lifted and not be able to scream when she felt that her mouth was covered by something invisible.

Edzard got up from his sleeping bag when he heard the sound of a body hitting the ground. He quickly took his sword and left his tent. when he was out he observed how Asia was floating and that this she could not speak. When he prepared to attack, a scent reached him that he recognized very well.

"Serana, you can go down to Asia" Edzard spoke with a sigh as he relaxed his posture.

Asia didn't understand what Edzard was saying, but was shocked when she heard a laugh in her ear. When she turned her head to see better she could see how a purple glow made a beautiful woman appear. This woman had pale skin. She had eyes that glowed like coal embers and deep red lips. Her hair was black and she wore it short with two small braids that joined at the back of her head. Her clothes consisted of a dark leather corset and below this she wore a red shirt. She had dark leather bracers, in addition to pants and black boots.

"Oh Ed, how did you find out it was me?" Serana asked with a laugh.

"That's easy, I only know someone who smells like a cemetery. Also, only my friends can pass my barrier undetected" Edzard replied, looking Serana in the eye "Can you go down to Asia? You're scaring her."

Serana just laughed again, then went down to Asia. who was once on the ground, quickly ran towards Edzard to take refuge behind him.

"Easy Asia, she's just a friend" Edzard said as he tried to calm her down, as she was trembling from Serana's fright.

When Asia had calmed down, Edzard presented them. After this Serana apologized to Asia for scaring her. Apologies that Asia accepted. After this Edzard and Serana started talking while Asia fell asleep on Edzard's shoulder.

"Serana, why are you here?" Edzard asked as he tried to accommodate himself in the best way so that Asia could sleep undisturbed.

"Can't I visit a friend?"

"Serana" Edzard said seriously as he looked into her eyes.

"Okay, I was at the Dawnguard Fort when some amusing rumors about you came through."

" What kind of rumors?"

"Nothing important, just that you had a street fight in Windhelm and that you were traveling with a girl" Serana replied with a mocking tone, besides that she smiled because she saw Edzard squirm from what he said.

Edzard was uncomfortable, the last thing he wanted was for Serana to find out.

"I see you want to know what's going on" Edzard said as he watched Serana stare at him.

Serana only smiled when his friend understood why she was here. So, she paid attention when he began to tell the story of Asia.

"Only to you strange things happen to you" Serana spoke, sighing for Edzard lucky " However, I must ask, do you have any clues on how to send the girl home?"

Edzard shook his head, having found no information on this subject in the Winterhold College library.

"I think my mother might know about this" Serana spoke with her hand on her chin " might ask him about it."

"Would you really do that?" Edzard asked hoping to find information; however, his face soured at the memory of Valerica "But your mother won't try to do something weird with Asia, right?"

"Ja, ja, ja" Serana laughed funny "Don't worry, my mother won't do anything to the girl; however, I cannot promise that she will not ask anything in return for the information."

Edzard nodded gratefully, after all that kind of information would not be given this free by anyone. They kept talking for a while longer, catching up. After speaking, Edzard went to his tent. Serana and Asia went to sleep in the other tent.

Whiterun - Sundas 04 Frostfall 202 of the Fourth era

The wagon was moving rapidly over the road. The journey had been faster once they entered Whiterun Shire. This region is one of the most important trade centers in Skyrim. This was due to the fact that it was right in the center of the province and that is why it kept its roads and highways in good condition, in order to speed up the transit of merchants.

The day after Serana's arrival had been very busy. Asia screamed very loudly when she woke up and she found herself naked hugging a very naked Serana. The scream was so loud that Edzard rushed out of his tent thinking they were being attacked, only to see a Serana wallowing in laughter and a tearful Asia muttering about no longer being able to marry.

When they had already reached the border with the Whiterun region, Asia was amazed to see the large number of farms and people passing by on the road grazing sheep, goats and cattle. The funniest thing was her when she screamed in amazement at the sight of a giant with his mammoths. She began asking question after question about them, questions that were answered by Serana.

When they camped that night, Serana and Asia were talking. Serana told him the story of how she met Edzard, exaggerating on some things. One of exaggerations was when she told him that he had come as a knight in shining armor to save her from the minions of her evil father. When Asia finished hearing that she turned to see Edzard with bright eyes.

When this day dawned and after a quick breakfast they left to reach the capital of the region, which ironically is also called Whiterun .

Asia was amazed when she looked at the city that was Whiterun , it was as big as Windhelm; However, she is unlike the previous one she did not possess that gray aura about herself.

When the wagon reached the stables on the outskirts of town, the group got out and Edzard handed the wagon to the stablemaster. Taking the enchanted backpacks, the trio headed towards Edzard's home in the city.

Asia was in awe when she saw the house she would be staying in. She expected another mansion, but this house was different, it was a normal house.

When they entered the house, Asia saw that it had a small fire pit at the entrance, as well as some seats to sit in front of it. On the left side of the fire pit there was a shelf with books, further back was the dining room, which was a table with a bench, to the left of the dining room were some doors that led to what would be Asia's room in the house. And in the same direction, but from the entrance there was a staircase that led to the second floor, where to the of hand-left was the attic and to the hand-right was to Edzard's room.

"This is strange" Serana commented as she looked at the house from all sides.

"What is so strange?" Asked Asia not understanding why Serana was saying that.

"It's just that we've reached the house and Lydia hasn't shown up to greet Edzard yet."

However, before Edzard could comment, the loft door opened and a woman came out, who by her skin color was a Red Guard. The woman wore a brown dress with an apron over it, she had short hair on her shoulders and had a scar on one side of her face. The moment he saw the woman come out of the attic, Edzard put his hand to his face and Serana was laughing.

"Hello Saadia, what a surprise to see you here" Edzard spoke sarcastically as Saadia's eyes widened in surprise "You could call Lydia."

When Saadia came out of her surprise she quickly went into the room she came out of. There were knocks and screams. After that she Saadia came out next to a pale skinned, black haired Norse woman who wore steel armor.

"Ja, ja, ja. Hi Lydia, I see you were having fun" Serana laughed.

"My Thane, I…" Lydia tried to excuse herself, trying to ignore Serana's teasing.

Edzard just looked at everything with blank eyes. It seems that his housecarls were having fun in their houses when he was away, but thank the gods they did it in their rooms and not his.

"Lydia, please, just wash the sheets afterward" Edzard spoke.

Lydia nodded furiously to what he said his Thane, while internally sigh of relief for not getting into trouble. When she saw the group with her Thane again, she was surprised; but she was not surprised to see Serana, the vampire woman was someone she had already met. No, her surprise was the young woman next to her Thane.

"My Thane, who is the young woman next to you?"

"Ah, right" Edzard replied as he struck his fist with his hand, realizing that he had not yet presented them "Lydia, this is Asia Argento."

"And Asia, this is Lydia, my housecarl here at Whiterun."

When Asia looked at Lydia, she immediately blushed, for at that moment Lydia's breastplate fell off. Everyone's eyes widened when they saw her breastplate fall, for Lydia had nothing under it; However, when Edzard was about to see everything well, Asia reacted quickly by covering Edzard's eyes.

"Ed, don't see!" Asia yelled covering Edzard's eyes.

"Ja, ja, ja . I didn't know your duties also included giving your Thane a view like that" Serana teased an embarrassed Lydia.

As Edzard tried to shake Asia off, Lydia quickly lifted her breastplate and went to her room.

When everything had settled down, Edzard was in a corner with a dark cloud over him, for he had missed the show. He took a deep breath and quickly gathered himself, and began talking to Lydia about the arrangements for Asia at the house.

"So, you're going to see your mother, Serana" Edzard spoke, leaning against the door frame.

"Yes. Don't worry though, it won't take me more than a couple of days" Serana said as she winked at Edzard "I'll tell him about your problem."

"Thank you for this, Serana."

Edzard just she looked at her friend leave before reentering the house and help prepare dinner.

Jorrvaskr - Morndas 05 Frostfall 202 of the Fourth era

Edzard was training with Farkas in the courtyard of Jorrvaskr. Farkas is a Nordic man, with long black hair, he had gray eyes. It uses the armor of the members of the circle of the companions, which consists of a steel breastplate with shoulder pads, which is decorated with the head of a wolf near the neck, steel gauntlets, in the shape of a wolf skull and boots of steel.

Edzard, on the other hand, wore boiled leather armor over a black tunic, linen pants and leather boots, all of the same color as his tunic. In addition to using a one-handed sword made of steel.

"Come on Ed, strike harder!" Farkas yelled as he attacked Edzard with his steel greatsword.

Edzard dodged the attacks, waiting for the moment to counterattack. And that moment came when Farkas slashed diagonally at Edzard, who rolled to the side to avoid him. Thanks to the turn, Edzard was able to position himself behind Farkas's back and quickly put the sword to his neck, thus ending the fight.

"It seems I win, Farkas" Edzard said with a smile. To later move the sword away from Farkas's neck.

When Farkas saw the sword away from his neck, he began to laugh.

"Ja, ja, ja. I missed our fights, Ed" Farkas laughed as he patted Edzard on the back.

"I… too" Edzard answered with difficulty, for Farkas's blows were sucking the air out of his lungs.

And so, while both friends continued their talk, Asia arrived at Jorrvaskr's training area. When several of the new recruits realized who she had arrived, they put aside what they were doing and began to take a good look at the young woman. Many of those present began to whisper among themselves, while some began to whistle at Asia, who was getting very nervous from the attention she was receiving.

"Hey, look at that girl. Do you think she is with someone?"

"Hey baby, come with me and I'll show you the best night of your life!"

Edzard turned when he began to hear the scandal and smiled when he realized that Asia had reached Jorrvaskr. He also noticed that he had brought a lunch box wrapped in a tablecloth. When Asia reached Edzard's side, she gave him the food.

The moment Edzard took the food, the recruits stopped whistling and began whispering to each other.

"Shit, it looks like he's with the harbinger."

"Could it be her lover?"

"Idiot, run before the harbinger slaughters you for hinting at him."

"But what do we have here" came a voice from the door leading to the entrance to the training ground.

When those present looked in the direction the voice was coming from, the whispers stopped.

Asia turned in the direction of the voice and saw a beautiful red-haired woman, who had green claw-shaped war paint on her face. The woman she wore leather armor with iron plates on her shoulders. Her armor showed her back, she also had iron gauntlets, which had green leather gloves without fingers and she wore thick brown leather boots, in addition to carrying a dagger at her waist. She also had a bow with a quiver full of arrows on her back.

"Aela, I didn't expect to see you until tomorrow" Edzard spoke as he saw Aela approach them.

"The hunt was easier than expected" Aela said, standing in front of Edzard "I heard some rumors while I was at Eastmarch."

When he heard that, Edzard's eyes narrowed; However, Aela was not paying attention to Edzard, rather she was looking Asia up and down.

"What kind of rumors?" Vilkas asked, joining the conversation.

"Looks like the herald got into a street fight" Aela replied as she continued to stare at Asia " Hey girl, what's your name?"

Hearing Aela's question, Asia was shocked and tried to hide behind Edzard. The people who were here had a very different aura than those who belonged to the college of Winterhold possessed.

"My name is A ... Asia A ... Argento, i… it's ni… nice to meet you all" Asia replied stammering as she hid behind Edzard.

"Hello, nice to meet you, my name is Farkas and the person next to me is my brother Vilkas," Farkas said with a smile on his face, an action that was copied by his twin.

This answer put Asia at ease; however, her nerves returned when she looked at Aela, who had a cold gaze. When Aela started to get closer, Asia tried to back away and away from her; but she didn't take many steps before reaching the wall.

Edzard was prepared to defend Asia; However, what he saw next surprised him and everyone present.

"Ahh, you are so cute!" Was Aela's cry as he hugged Asia and began to rub her face against hers.

Asia was scared, as she didn't understand why they were hugging her like this.

"Hey Ed, tell me, where did you find her?" Aela asked as she continued to hug a blushing Asia, who was making futile efforts to separate herself from Aela.

Edzard just blinked seeing Aela act like this.

'For a moment I thought her bestial instincts had taken over her' Edzard sighed in relief.

"I'll tell you everything, so let's go to the lower forge" was what Edzard said, while they were heading to the lower forge, which as its name says was located under the sky forge, which was located next to Jorrvaskr.

When all the members of the circle and Asia were inside the lower forge, Edzard proceeded to tell them how he met Asia. After that Asia told her story and when she finished, the twins and Edzard tried to separate her from Aela, who was hugging Asia.

"Aela, let Asia go!" It was Edzard's cry as he tried to separate Aela from Asia.

"Never!"

"Okay, I've had enough of this."

Edzard quickly used a paralysis spell on Aela, who stayed still. This allowed him to separate her from Asia, who had fainted from Aela's display of affection.

When Asia woke up, the first thing she noticed was that she was lying on a bed in a room she didn't know about. She started to panic; but she calmed down when Edzard came in with a plate of food for her. When she received the plate of food, she said a few prayers and then ate. When she finished eating, she and Edzard started talking.

Edzard told him all about the wolf blood once possessed by all the members of the circle, including himself.

"So, you were a werewolf?" Asked Asia looking at Edzard.

"Yes, I managed to heal myself" Edzard replied as he looked up at the ceiling " But not completely."

"What do you mean with that?"

"Asia, since I was born until a few months ago my eyes were green" Edzard answered sadly, thinking of his deceased family " However, when I became a werewolf these turned gray, but when I healed only one of my eyes turned green."

"Why did that happen?"

"You already know that I am a Dovahkiin, that is, I am not a normal human, therefore, lycanthropy affected me in another way" Edzard replied with regret in his voice "I could only partially heal myself, I can no longer transform into a wolf, but I still keep some of its traits."

"What features are still present?"

"My senses are highly developed, and I have more strength, endurance, and durability than the average human."

After that little talk they were silent for a while; however, this silence was broken when Edzard spoke.

"Asia, Aela wants to train you in the use of weapons."

This surprised Asia "But Ed, I don't like hurting people."

"I know, but this world is killing or die, if you don't know how to fight, you won't be able to defend yourself."

When Asia heard that she thought for a moment; but after a few moments she decided to accept.

Edzard nodded. To make her feel better, he also suggested that she accompany him on a mission later on; but on the condition that she would when Aela told her that she could already defend herself with a weapon. Besides that, she couldn't stop practicing with her magic. Asia smiled accepting Edzard's terms.

A few hours later they both left and went to Edzard's house to rest.

Breezehome - Loredas 10 de Frostfall of 202 of the Fourth era

The day was clear and the sun was shining on the city of Whiterun . All the inhabitants of the city were chatting and doing their business in the city, but in Edzard's house everything was a hurricane of people working. Asia was accompanied by Aela, Lydia and Serana, the latter had recently returned from speaking with her mother. They were preparing a small party for Edzard, who was turning fifteen that same day.

"¡Serana, stop eat sweet buns!" Aela yelled as she helped put the decorations on the roof of the house.

"Lydia! Go get this list of ingredients at the market!" Was the cry of Asia, which she was trying to think of how to make a cake without an oven.

Lydia nodded and quickly went to the city market to buy the ingredients.

While Lydia shopped at the market, the other girls finished decorating the house. And if you wonder about the lucky birthday boy. Well, he was he was coming back to town.

"Seriously, because Balgruuf had to send me to deliver that letter" was what Edzard said, as he remembered how the Jarl from Whiterun had asked him to deliver that letter to a local Lord.

'That arrogant old man' was Edzard's thought when he remembered how the nobleman did not allow him to enter his home, but kept him waiting in the rain for a couple of hours.

'And after that he had the audacity to parade all his daughters and granddaughters so that I could take one of them as a wife' Edzard thought as he clenched his teeth. The old man had called all his descendants when he found out who he had let wait outside his property.

Sighing, he decided to focus on the road. He was a few hours away from the city of Whiterun .

Edzard wasn't expecting anything today, even though this was his birthday. Unfortunately for him this was a sad day, since the anniversary of the death of his parents was in two days.

Edzard remembered how two days after receiving his gift when he was seven years old, he had gone to play with his friends in town. He played all day and was happy, but all that happiness went to shit when he returned home, and found it on fire.

After that, he was sent to the orphanage in the city of Bruma in Cyrodill. There he spent six years, after which he went out and began working as an apprentice blacksmith. When he earned enough money, he headed to Skyrim to visit his father's homeland. When he arrived in Skyrim he was imprisoned for being near the place where Ulfric was captured. What came after that is known history, he saved Whiterun from a dragon, went to High Hrothgar where he learned Thu'um, defeated Alduin and saved the day.

"I'm bored" was Edzard's whisper "Please something to happen."

When he finished saying that, he heard some screams. He quickly spurred his horse in the direction of the scream. When he arrived, he saw a group of Thalmor attacking a caravan of merchants. Edzard was angered when he saw the Thalmor beat and strip the woman who appeared to be the wife of the caravan owner, while her husband was being held by three Thalmor. The worst thing was that there was a child, who looked terrified at the scene.

Edzard decided to intervene, so he quickly dismounted from his horse and approached. When a Thalmor saw him, he tried to stop him; but he couldn't even speak, for Edzard sliced off his head quickly. When the other Thalmor saw that, they quickly released the man they were holding, who quickly got up and grabbing a branch hit the Thalmor who had undressed his wife.

The Thalmor attacked Edzard with their swords; however, they hadn't even come close when they were hit by a lightning spell, which killed them on the spot. The power of the spell was such that their bodies turned to ashes.

"Stop there you damn human!"

Edzard looked at the last remaining Thalmor and saw how he was holding the child in the caravan hostage.

"Drop your weapon and walk away!" The Thalmor threatened, putting his dagger to the child's neck " If you don't listen, I'll slice his neck ...!"

The Thalmor could not continue, as Edzard complied with his demand and threw his weapon, which was an ax; however, he did not throw it to the ground, rather he threw it at the Thalmor's head, killing him on the spot.

When the Thalmor fell to the ground, the child ran to his parents, who hugged him. Edzard smiled when he saw that scene. When he was about to leave, he saw that the child had come to his side.

"Thank you very much" was what the child said with a smile and tears in his eyes.

Edzard just nodded, to then create a golden ball of magic which he sent to the woman to heal her wounds. After that Edzard went to his horse and quickly left the place.

Night had already fallen when he reached the city of Whiterun , so he quickly made his way to the Jarl's palace, The Dragon Basin to deliver his report. After that he went to his house with the intention of eating and then sleeping, as he was tired from the trip.

When Edzard opened the door, he was amazed to see his house decorated with garlands. The fire pit at the entrance had been removed, thus leaving more space in the main hall. There was a cake in the center of the table, there were various sweets and food around the cake; However, what surprised him the most was seeing his friends there waiting for him.

"Happy Birthday Ed!" Was the cry of everyone present.

Edzard was so stunned by what was happening that it took a blow from Farkas to bring him back to his senses.

"What's going on?" Was the question of an Edzard who was still in shock.

"It's your birthday party, Idiot" Serana replied sarcastically.

"Eh?" Edzard was still in shock "But who planned all this?"

"It was Asia" was Aela's reply "You would have seen her organize everything, she looked like a general ordering her soldiers."

When Edzard heard that, he raised an eyebrow, for he couldn't imagine a serious Asia wearing imperial armor giving orders.

Everyone presents began to greet Edzard while giving him their congratulations. After that, everyone began to celebrate, drank mead and ate what was on the table. Asia and Edzard had been pushed to dance in the center of the small room, while Jon Battle-Born, a young Nordic man with blond hair and a goatee, was playing a song. While everyone was celebrating, Jarl Balgruuf came to the party and started a singing challenge which was won by Jon.

The party continued until very late at night. At which point all the guests left. And Edzard stayed with Asia in the dining room.

"Asia, thank you" Edzard's voice was laden with many feelings at the time.

"No need, Ed" Asia replied with a smile.

Edzard produced a bottle that was sent from Riften by Talen-Jei, an Argonian who ran the Bee and Barb inn. When he returned to where Asia was, he poured the contents into two glasses by giving one of the glasses to her. When they both drank the contents of the cup, they reddened, for they quickly got drunk. Edzard had not realized that he had taken the drink called Cliff Racer, which was a very strong drink. Although Edzard had a great resistance to alcohol, he had already had a lot to drink during the party, while Asia did not have that tolerance to alcohol.

They were both so drunk that they started laughing at everything. When they got up to go to their respective bedrooms, they were so drunk that they both went to the room on the first floor and lay down on the same bed.
