Chapter 7

A few days went by and Mewtwo was still at the reserve with the other Pokémon as Ash, Brock, and Misty all stayed at Delia's home. They all wanted to let Mewtwo rest after the mysterious incident plus Mew was incredibly forceful on him being left alone while he rested. Mewtwo had to be thankful to Mew for that and over the few days, she had been a constant help with trying to get him to talk about what had happened. She was just as confused as he was about the incident but teleported to every library she knew of in order to research what happened but nothing had turned up so far. Mewtwo didn't really see the point in trying to find out what happened but left Mew to do what she liked as while she did have a trainer, she was still a legendary and legendaries usually hate being left a mystery that is unsolved.

Mew had yet to reveal her powers to the professor, not wanting to bother Mewtwo with translating something so trivial but he knew today was the day that Ash was going to get back on the road to continue his journey to become a Pokémon Master. Mewtwo breathed in the summer air from his place on his tree then hopped down and walked into the professors lab where Professor Oak was on his computer and Mew was nibbling on a little bit of berry on his shoulder. "Mew," he said startling the two a tiny bit. "I believe you owe Professor Oak a review of your powers."

Mew nodded and looked at Professor Oak as he got out a notebook that had Mewtwo's powers on it. She sighed before starting her list of powers. "I have all the powers that you listed plus learning all the moves of any Pokémon in the world, Invisibility, Transform, Captivate, Devolve, Calm Mind, Aura Sphere, Earth, Fire Blast, Nasty Plot, Safeguard, Sword Dance, Mega Punch, Rock Slide, Dazzle, Energy Ball, Thunder, Iron Tail, Dark Pulse, and Dimension Hop." She said which Mewtwo repeated to Professor Oak. "My personal weakness is probably my playfulness and curiosity but I do have a type weakness to ghost Pokémon."

Professor Oak nodded as he finished writing everything down. "Hmm." He said as he brought up his Pokédex to input the Powers of Mew. "I'll put Psychic, Transform, Shadow Ball, and Shield as the powers and the weaknesses will be just as she had said." He typed the words up quickly and effortlessly. "I will still keep these entries locked so no one but me can view them but I did change the name to Unknown Pokémon and left out your pictures just in case anyone did find a way to view them." He turned to look at Mewtwo. "From the description I gave, people who try to view your file will just assume you are a type of Psychic Pokémon that need to be researched thoroughly before getting officially put in the system and research like that can take years. Hopefully by then, there won't be problems revealing you but that is a long way away. For now, enjoy your time with Ash and learn as much as you can from him. I have upgraded his Pokéball carry number from only 6 Pokémon to 8 so that he can still have you and Mew while being able to battle normally."

Mewtwo nodded and looked to the door as it opened and Ash came running in. "Hey Mewtwo!" He said happily. Hey Mew! Hey Professor!"

"Hello Ash." Professor Oak smiled as Mew hopped off his shoulder and attached herself to Ash's chest in a hug. "Looks like Mew is happy to see you too. Where's your friends and Pikachu?"

"Brock wanted to pack some food up for the road, Misty decided to check to see if she needed more female products, and Pikachu wanted to sneak in a ketchup snack before Mom finds out where all the ketchup went." He said laughing.

"Well Ash," Professor Oak said standing. "May I see your Pokédex?" Ash nodded and handed over his device to Professor Oak and waited as it was fiddled with a tiny bit before being returned to him. "You are now confirmed to be allowed to carry 8 Pokéballs so if anyone tries to get you in trouble, your Pokédex will confirm that I input the order as long as you only use 6 Pokémon at tournaments and gyms. I am trusting you not to abuse this power."

"I won't professor." Ash said as a he put his Pokédex back into his pocket. "I do have one problem." Ash looked to Mewtwo. "Mewtwo doesn't like being in the Pokéball very much I do not think."

Mewtwo shivered as he remembered the feeling of being in that ball. "I do not enjoy it no." He confirmed. "But I can try to deal being in one."

"Wait!" Mew said in Pokémon language as she floated to Mewtwo. "I can use my move transform on more than just me! I can turn you into another Pokémon as you travel out in the open! It will be an illusion type move but there is a Pokémon that won't have people getting suspicious from using psychic moves and Telepathy!" Mewtwo tilted his head and sighed before translating what she had said to Ash and Professor Oak.

"That might work depending on the Pokémon you will be using." Professor Oak said.

Mew smiled before her eyes started glowing and a blue light surrounded her and Mewtwo before slowly dissipating and where Mew and Mewtwo were standing was now a totally different looking set of Pokémon. In Mew's place stood a little 2 foot 4 inch tall blue bipedal jackal like Pokémon with a black torso and legs, a blue tail, yellow rounded collar on its neck, white round bumps on the back of both of its front paws, two small pointed blue ears, 2 black dangling appendages that hung on each side of its face 1 on each side, and a black fur mask that went across its red eyes. In Mewtwo's place was a taller 3 foot 11 inch tall blue bipedal jackal like Pokémon with black legs, black front paws, black rounded shoulders, cream colored fur on its torso, a black fur waistline with blue fur on its thighs resembling puffy shorts, a blue tail, spikes on the back of its front paws and one on its chest, 4 black appendages hung from the back of its head 2 on each side, a longer snout, 2 long blue ears with a black inner color, and a black fur mask that went across its red eyes and nose with a middle black stripe going up its forehead and ending where the appendages were.

Ash looked with a gaping mouth as his Pokémon changed shape into ones he had no idea of while Mewtwo looked at himself from every angle trying to figure out his new body. "So Mew is a Riolu while Mewtwo is a Lucario." Professor Oak said. "Very nice choice Mew."

"How long will this last Mew?!" Mewtwo asked with a slight desperation in his voice.

"It will last as long as I want. It doesn't drain my powers since it is one of the main abilities all Mew have." She said giggling.

"You can reverse it though?" Mewtwo asked picking up Mew by her scruff as irritability seeped from all corners of his Aura and Mew merely nodded. "I would've appreciated a warning before you did that." He growled dropping her onto her rump making her squeal in slight hurt. "Felt unnatural. What if I had another mysterious episode when you did that? I could've rebelled without even controlling it." Mew looked down with slight tears in her eyes making Mewtwo sigh and kneel down beside her putting his paw on her head. "Thank you for doing it though but I want to return to my normal form every so often to at least feel some semblance of normal." Mew's tears immediately stopped and she nodded before she lunged hugging him on the chest making him fall backwards once again. "This is going to be a habit isn't it?" He said making Ash and Professor Oak chuckle.

"Professor, may I ask what Pokémon a Riolu and Lucario are exactly?" Ash asked.

"Their a type of Aura Pokémon with some Steel and Fighting type. They are mainly found in the Sinnoh Region but I come across them here when other Professors send them when their inventory is full. I can confidently say that both Mew and Mewtwo can use their powers almost to their full potential without them changing their forms once. I can also tell those who come snooping in case you do run into problems that the Lucario and Riolu both went with you because you show pure intentions in having them as your Pokémon. Those type of Pokémon are known for only going with trainers who have a strong Aura and a pure heart."

"Huh." Ash said. "Well I guess then everything with them is all set." He took the Ultra ball and Great ball from his pocket and handed them to Professor Oak. "Can you attach these to a necklace chain? I know you have done it for Gary with one of his Pokéballs but while I don't like jewelry in general, I feel wrong just leaving them on my belt so I will let them wear each others Pokéball."

"Why each other's Pokéball?" Professor Oak asked as Mew and Mewtwo sent him puzzled looks as well.

"So that if one is injured enough to go in one, the other is powerful enough to defend it. If I held on to the Pokéballs there would be too much of a risk of them getting lost or stolen easily because I don't have the abilities that a Pokémon has." Ash said.

"Very well." Professor Oak reached in his desk the computer was on and took out two chains before carefully hooking each Pokéball on a chain and handing them to Mew and Mewtwo. "There you go." He got up and led Ash, Mew, and Mewtwo to the front door and ushered them out. "I wish you luck on your journey." He waved to them as they walked down the stairs. "And be sure to give them different names Ash!" He called before going in and closing the door behind him.

Ash reached the bottom of the stairs and turned to Mew and Mewtwo and smiled. "Well," he said. "This is the start of our journey together. I will say it is a bit different talking to you guys now since one isn't constantly floating and the other isn't taller than me anymore but I'll get use to it. Do you think you guys will be okay in forms not your own for the duration of my journey though?"

"Like I said earlier," Mewtwo calmly started. "As long as I can get returned to my original form every so often I can live with being in this form."

"Alright." Ash started to walk down the road with Mewtwo and Riolu. "About what Professor Oak said about names though…Is it wrong that I don't think I can name you anything other than the names you have now?"

"I am not sure." Mewtwo said. "I do not understand why others have names in the first place even though I, myself, have one."

"Its a form of endearment and identification mainly." Ash said as Mew hopped onto his shoulder. "Humans don't really have any other ways to tell others apart other than names."

"But why name Pokémon?" Mewtwo questioned his new red eyes glancing at Ash. "Is it because of this endearment you spoke of?"

"I would like to think so. I never name my Pokémon so that if they want to go back to their own kind they can be less confused if someone else named a Pokémon a similar individual name and called out." Ash sighed. "But I guess Professor Oak has a point. I can't call you Mew and Mewtwo while in your Riolu and Lucario forms."

Mewtwo made a noncommittal sound before he said. "I will go by MT and Mew will go by M."

Ash laughed. "Nicknames that can be interpreted in many different ways and those are short enough that I can think of actual names a bit later."

After a little bit of walking they came upon a silver painted house with a red roof, a large fenced in yard, and a couple trees out front. Next to the house was Misty, Brock, Pikachu, and Delia all talking before noticing Ash with the two new Pokémon. As Ash settled next to them all the questions started from everyone wondering where Mew and Mewtwo were and who the new Pokémon were. "QUIET!" Mewtwo yelled silencing everyone with his yell. "Mew has temporarily changed our forms so we can walk around with Ash without being in the Pokéballs that are around our necks." He calmly explained glaring at the group. "Now if you do not mind, let us finish making niceties and get going on the road."

The group apart from Ash quickly apologized before everyone said their goodbyes to Delia and started down the road out of Pallet Town. As they walked Ash snapped his fingers. "I got it!" He yelled out startling Pikachu and Riolu off his shoulders while everyone else looked at him. "Your nickname meanings! M can be for Mystery and MT can be for Majestic Tranquility."

Mew and Mewtwo blinked at Ash before looking at each other before they both shrugged. "Whatever makes sense to you Ash." Mewtwo said.

Ash just smiled and marched on ahead as the group followed behind. "So where are we going now Ash?" Misty asked.

Ash paused in his walking for a minute making the group stop as well before he turned around with a hand on the back of his head, rubbing it in nervousness. "You know," he said laughing. "I have no idea!"

Brock and Misty fell down with exasperation while Mew, Mewtwo, and Pikachu all sweat dropped at the cluelessness Ash had. "I have an idea then." Mewtwo said sporting an evil gleam in his eye. "Ash, you will be starting your new training with your Pokémon today."

Ash felt a chill creep up his spine. "Awesome?" He said in a questionable tone as the gleam in Mewtwo's eyes grew. He had a feeling that this training will put him in a whole world of hurt.

….

The last day of school soon passed and Albus was in his bedroom with a tiny red feathered chick in his hands looking it over with a critical eye before nodding to himself. "You are coming along well Fawkes." he said to the chick before he settled the tiny chick on a perch. "You should be full grown in a month or so." He cleared his throat at the exasperated look Fawkes was giving him at his observations. "Sorry." He sat on his bed and looked at his bird. "I did find out where young Harry is." That gained the birds attention. "I do not know where exactly he is as the address on the letter changes every so often but the region is the same. Unfortunately it is not on this earth and most likely on another world. I was wandering if you are able to travel worlds through your Flame Apparation technique." Fawkes slightly nodded. "I will ask you simple yes or no things so that you can tell me whether hope is still on the table for finding young Harry." Fawkes nodded for him to go ahead with his questions. "Do think you can locate the Region called Kanto?"

A nod.

"Will you be able to immediately Flame back to this world?"

A shake of his head.

"Will you have to burn as soon as you get there?"

A shake of his head.

"You will be tired though?"

A nod.

"Will it take you a little while to recuperate?"

A nod.

"Will it be less than 4 months?"

A nod.

Albus let out a relieved sigh. "Thank you my friend." He stood up. "I will let you rest now."

Fawkes watched as Albus left the room. He knew where exactly the young boy was and where but returning there after being gone so long might bring something very unpleasant to him and while he would help Albus find the young boy, he would hide as soon as he recognized the ones they called gods for he did not want to face them. He then closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Albus sat at his desk once more and got out a quill and some parchment before writing a letter that explained that he was putting in his vacation days starting the beginning of July. As he finished the letter, he put it in an envelope and sealed it with some wax before tapping it gently with a long slender wooden stick and the letter floated out the open window. He sighed and got up heading over to a wall and tapping a singular book making the wall separate and revealing a type of walk-in closet that had several clothing items and jars. He waved the stick and a brown trunk with golden trim, an emblem on the front that was of a beautiful Phoenix with the initials A.W.P.B.D below it in silver lettering, rolled out from behind some hanging clothes.

He opened it up and with a wave of his stick, several of his clothes, jars, and even some books flew into the trunk before it was pushed back and the wall closed back up. Albus looked around his office and waved the stick and several items floated into the trunk as well but Albus lowered his want and went over to behind his desk and picked up a small mahogany chest embroidered with golden metal that slightly glowed and on the wood there were delicate carvings of a lion with a wild mane spreading to every part of the chest. He knew that in this chest was the memory and toy that he preserved for young Harry Potter for when he met the boy and so he slowly walked over and put the chest inside the trunk before closing it and setting the locks before setting the trunk to the side of the desk.

He sighed as he felt as if the world was spinning around him in slow motion but no matter how much he wished that time would reverse, nothing he did now would change what had happened and what would happen. He then walked out of his office and through the empty halls of the castle once more before going out the front doors and down to the gates before apparating away. He appeared in a small neighborhood in front of a small two story house that was a light blue in color with a brown roof. He walked up to the door and knocked gently with the silver doorknob that was on the center of the door waiting patiently. After a few moments, the door opened and Chief Rodgers appeared and stepped out to the front stoop closing the door behind him and asked, "Albus? What are you doing here?"

"I am here to inform you that I have found the location of Harry Potter." Albus said.

"That's great! Where is he?" The chief smiled.

"He is somewhere that I will need to travel to for a little while. His letter keeps changing addresses and his name has changed to another of which I am not familiar."

"What do you mean?" The chief frowned. "You think he was found and adopted by another family?"

"Personally I am not sure about anything other than where he did disappear to is somewhere that is in another world. His name, while unusual for us, might be perfectly normal where he is staying."

"Another world? That is almost impossible to fathom that he disappeared to another world just purely by accidental magic but I am not as familiar with magic as my brother is." He frowned. "Do you think the boy will even want to come back?"

Albus sighed feeling a bout of nostalgia from his conversation with McGonagall. "I will not force him to come back as it is up to the person to learn magic but I am hoping that he will at least listen to what I will have to say before he decides whether to come with me or not. I will make sure to accommodate any needs he will have if he comes to Hogwarts and I will allow him to return to his world in the summer but again that's only if he wants to decide to come with me."

Chief Rodgers nodded. "Understandable but if he allows, I would like to see him in order to tell him how I put those monsters that called themselves caregivers away for life. I just want to express how I wished that I could have rescued him before he disappeared without any warning." He bowed his head frowning.

"As do I my friend." Albus nodded. "I feel as if I failed my two best students by leaving their only child with those who I thought would treat him as their own. They tricked me once but they will never do so again and they will never recover any of their lives back. Their son will grow up knowing what his parents did to his cousin, the neighbors already had seen and heard what happened, the work Vernon worked for is being uprooted and torn apart at every seam, and Petunia will rot knowing that her only family she ever cherished will never see her again."

"Well," Chief Rodgers looked up and smiled. "As long as Harry will appreciate what we have done to avenge the wrongdoings that were put onto him then all this seems worth the wait. He deserves to know that we never gave up on him."

Albus nodded. "I must be off but I wanted to just let you know that little information."

"I appreciate it very much Albus."

Albus nodded and dissapparated away back to the gates of Hogwarts and walked up to his bedroom where he changed into his nightclothes and laid his glasses down on the table beside him before lying down on his bed and resting his head gently on the pillow. He knew that everything isn't going top be perfect when he appears so suddenly to Harry but as he closed his eyes, he knew that his dreams would make it seem a little bit better than the realities he will be facing in a month. He then fell away to his dreams and worries as the night wore on peacefully.

Fawkes peeked open an eye to watch Albus dream for a few minutes and slowly thought about how things could go once they arrived to where Harry was. Soon, a plan started to formulate in his mind and he spent the next few long hours refining it in his mind before he, too, drifted off into the land of sleep and dreams before the sun rose above the horizon.

They needed a good strategy to try to approach a new world and Harry after all and, in order to do that, rest must be a priority.
