Alright so I had this idea floating around in my head for a few days now and thought I'd jot something down and see where it took me. I don't want to spill too much detail here this is just the prologue but I am curious to see if this is something that others might want me to continue with.
Please leave me a review or a comment and I'll have the next chapter up in the next few days still mapping it out as a whole.

Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, or so they say. Right now though as she stood there in front of the floor to ceiling silver gilded mirror she wasn't' imagining walking down the aisle to her prince charming, her happily ever after. She couldn't get the thought that she was exchanging one prison for another.

End of semester parties at the lake were always a blast. They would all pack up their cars and head down to the cabin and lose themselves in suntan lotion and water sports. Tonight was no different. The party was in full swing and the resident hostess with the most Caroline Forbes was in full swing. "Elena! You're supposed to be helping me with the snacks!" playfully reaching over and swatting her hand as Elena nibbled on the Chex Mix. "I'm sorry Care, I haven't eaten practically all day and I have had a few beers and you know how I get if I don't eat something when I drink" rolling her eyes as she popped a few more pinches into her mouth. Heading over to the table as she sat out the latest bowl of snacks she was approached by a young man. Turning to him she smiled instantly thinking he was cute. "Hi… I'm Stefan…" reaching out his hand to shake hers letting out a devilishly handsome grin. "Elena.." she answered with a smile getting her flirt on. What was wrong with that right? After all, it wasn't like she did this often. Most of her friends thought Elena was a little too demure when it came to the opposite sex. She wanted to believe in the idea that chivalry wasn't dead and that true gentleman still existed.
Shaking her head as she flashed back to that fateful night, the night that changed the course of her life forever. Staring at her reflection trying her best not to cry her perfect makeup off. "You should have just walked away when you had the chance."
"Don't tell me you're going to pull a Julia Roberts and runaway now missy.." A squeaky high optimistic voice that could not be anyone other than her maid of honor.
"No Care actually I was just thinking about what got me into this mess in the first place." Turning around careful not to step on the perfect princess toule skirt that framed her tiny waist. Adjusting her veil on the back of her head taking the bouquet from Caroline and wiping her eye gently.
"I know honey.. but you're doing what you have to to protect your family.. besides… there could be worse men in the world to marry besides a Salvatore." She loved how even in the face of marrying a man deep in the mob Caroline still tried to 'bee positive' for her. Grabbing her friend by the hand and pulling her in for a supportive hug. "Alright lets go… Can't have a wedding without a bride" This was it, making her way down the exquisite marble tiled hallway out to the pristine garden on the Salvatore estate she took a moment as she stood behind the French doors waiting for them to open and took a deep breath as she made her way down the aisle to her future… a future as Damon Salvatores wife.
