Author's Note #1: Huge thanks to those who have beta read for me, I really appreciate you guys helping me with stuff and making sure this can at least be enjoyable.
This is a spin-off of Reactionist's Watch Him Die Again and Again, inspired by the other spin-offs such as Re:Modern Warfare by ArcherFromArnor and Re:Dead Space by ILikeStuff098.
If you haven't read any of those, go read those instead, they are much better by a large margin.
Re:InFAMOUS
Chapter 1: Unprecedented Catastrophe
Some time passed since the viewing of Arc 4 ended. Our cast of characters are currently resting and waiting for whatever comes next. But then suddenly the lights once again begin to dim down.
Much of our cast is seen bewildered by the sudden turn of events.
"Wasn't Arc 4 supposed to be the end?" questioned Rem. "Shouldn't Subaru-kun be awakened by now?" She huddled closer to her hero.
"He is supposed to be awake in fact!" huffed Beatrice, she could be seen hiding under Subaru's jacket as she sat in his lap. She sticks her hand out and points towards the screen. "I demand to know why Betty's contractor is not awake yet!" her distaste towards the continued condition of her contractor clearly conveyed.
Emilia can be seen holding on to her sleeping knight. She was also upset at the fact that her knight's return would be delayed, she wanted to make it all up to him.
To say she was conflicted would be an understatement. She wants to be by his side all the way after seeing how far he went to ensure the safety of everyone, to finally give him the proper answer he deserved on that hill that fateful day.
But on the other hand, she felt that she was not worthy of any of it, she could not match Subaru's love nor his courage, her incompetence led to too many deaths and losses that Subaru had to fix.
Fix at the cost of himself.
All she could hope was that Subaru's love would still be there, to be there for her so she could at least try and make things right.
She just leaned into Subaru's shoulder as she whispered "Please return soon Subaru."
Ram can be seen sitting next to the clown, a deep scowl etched into her face, expelling feelings of regret, guilt, and anger.
Regret and anger for all her inaction during the trials of Sanctuary, her inability to properly assess the situation during Arc 2, for not helping more.
Guilt for some of her treatment towards the poor dark-haired boy she called a friend, while she understood that Subaru understood that her harsh words at the time were not to be taken as an insult but as a way to convey her care in her own way, there were times her "jokes" went too far.
"You should just die" was the one that is really eating at her soul. Seeing that Subaru actually almost adopted such a way of thinking. It just made her sick to no end.
To be pushed so far down after all the good he has done, in Ram's eyes it was unacceptable.
She just looked on ahead towards the screen, preparing herself for whatever comes next, for it was the least she could do for her friend.
The Clown could be seen there staring towards the screen, his smile no longer there, in its place was a look of indifference.
His sins were exposed for everyone to see. He could feel the murderous intent radiated from everyone but the pink-haired maid, every inch of it directed towards him.
He wasn't scared or upset at any of it, in fact, he was somewhat glad.
He knew what lines he was willing to cross, and he hated himself for it.
But now he was likely to be punished for his crimes, he was ok with it, after all, he deserves it, every inch of it, and much much more.
He stared into the white void of the screen, narrowed his eyes, and asked "What is next for Natsuki Subaru?".
The two brothers Otto and Garfiel can be seen sitting next to each other. The boy in green has his hand resting on Garfiel's shoulder, currently wearing a look of concern and sympathy.
The yellow-haired boy had nothing short of a dead-pan look on his face, ever since he saw himself not only slaughter the innocent civilians he swore to protect as the shield, but also ripped his own brother to shreds.
He was a mass murderer.
A monster.
He was nothing like his hero, the man he looks up to, his brother that ripped him out of the state of limbo he was in.
The one that showed him what true strength really means.
"C'mon Garfiel, Natsuki-san holds no ill will against you or any of us" Otto proceeded to extend his arm around his shoulders and bring him into a brotherly embrace. "You've seen it yourself, he cares deeply for you".
Otto understood how his friend was feeling.
Otto has yet to even forgive himself for the savage act of cowardice he committed in Arc 3.
As of now, he has just been pushing through as much as he can, trying his best to watch everything that he has missed.
All Otto could think was how he would help out his friend from the terrible condition he was in.
It really hit Otto when he saw the utter confusion on Subaru's face when his loop counterpart said he saved him because they were friends, nothing more.
It was like it was the last thing he would expect, and Otto knew why; throughout Subaru's journey, he was forsaken time and time again by people he thought he could trust, who he thought were friends.
He has grown used to the idea that no one will help him out of his troubles unless he gives something in return.
That people only stand on his side due to what he provides, not for who he is. That way of thinking brings Otto's blood to a boil.
For now, all he could do is watch. "We will make you understand Natuski-san" proclaimed the green merchant, eyes filled with determination. "We are here for you, through and through"
Petra can be seen latched on to Frederica, eyes red due to all the crying she has been doing.
Arc 4 has been "difficult" to say the least, she had to witness her deaths once again and had to come to terms with the fact that the person she is working for is a witch-loving maniac and allowed not only the death of herself but of everyone else both in the Sanctuary and the mansion.
But worse of all was how Roswaal tried to break her beloved hero, turn him into a soulless machine only pushing towards a single goal, disregarding everyone around him; in other words, a copy of Roswaal, a monster.
Petra made a promise, a similar one to many others, to help Subaru out of the terrible mental space he is in, a hero should be happy and in peace, not in a constant state of self-deprecation and turning to self-harm.
But...
"Frederica…?" She slowly looked up towards the beast maid.
Frederica looked down towards the little maid and forced a calm smile out. "Yes, Petra?"
"Do you...?" Petra slowly looked down "Do you think we will be able to help Subaru?"
While Petra desperately wanted to believe the answer was obvious, "Of course we can" were the words she wanted to hear.
Though another part of herself was believing something else.
How can a small village girl like her help?
How could a man come back from such cruel experiences?
There was a dark answer to those questions, an answer she is fighting against with all her might.
"Yes, I do.."
Petra quickly looked up to see the beast maid give a reassuring smile.
"It won't be easy and we will have our work cut out for ourselves, but we will help him heal and recover"
Petra could only respond with a small smile, her confidence restored just a bit.
These words from the sharp-toothed maid were not just kind words, but a true goal she would achieve.
Frederica wasn't very close to the spiky-haired knight, their relationship was mainly professional but she was currently regretting that.
She now wished to have gotten closer to the boy as he clearly needed as much support as he could get.
I mean how could she just stand there and watch this wonderful man slowly wither away.
The man that saved her people, saved her little brother from his inner turmoil, and even restored her relationship with her brother, one she thought she lost for good.
Subaru has done so much for everyone, it was about time they paid it back in full.
He was worthy of one's loyalty and friendship, things that she would gladly give to the knight.
Both maids looked towards the screen, goals set and minds ready.
The Karsten Camp is currently together mulling over the events that just transpired in front of them.
Felix is currently drowning in a sea of self-hatred.
He remembers how he viewed Subaru, as scum, a monster, a pathetic excuse of a living being.
But oh was he wrong, very very fucking wrong. The fact is that he wishes that he was one-tenth of the man Subaru was.
He knows he would not have pushed as hard as Subaru did.
Be as forgiving.
Be so willing to throw his life out the window for the sake of everyone else.
But what he regrets most is how he thought Subaru had abandoned them, allowing them to fall to Gluttony. But to then see him drive that knife into his own throat, fall, and bleed out on the floor; declaring that no matter how many tries it takes, he will save them. To only see that even his own ability would forsake him, to see such failure that was out of his control almost completely and utterly crush him.
Sure at the time that determination and afterward guilt was pointed towards Rem, Felix knew that Subaru would include Crusch.
Subaru wasn't the type to abandon anyone. He wouldn't even abandon those he was murdered by. Subaru has shown that attitude time and time again, his altruism truly knew no bounds.
And yet Felix would spit his name like venom, blaming him for Crusch's memory loss. When in fact it was likely yet another regret Subaru so unfairly placed on himself.
Truly Felix was nothing but scum.
Wilhelm could only stare down in pity towards the catboy, he knew that his self-esteem was already detrimental, but now this is beyond anything he has seen from Felix.
But sadly there was nothing he could do to get him out of this wreck. All he could do is give some words of encouragement, but he knew it could take a whole lot more than that to help him.
His gaze switched towards the nasty-eyed knight.
Wilhelm has grown to respect the boy so much, even has come to see him as his own son, the boy has shown exactly the type of man he is.
While not perfect, he was a man who tried his best to be benevolent, and help as many as he can no matter the cost, places good-willed trust into those he considers his allies and makes sure to hold up his side of the deal.
Wilhelm just wishes he could have returned that trust before.
He should have known what was going on with Subaru during those loops, he knew what that look in his eyes entailed.
The eyes that a kid his age shouldn't be wearing, eyes that have seen too much.
Wilhelm just closed his eyes and shook his head, and then proceeded to look towards the screen, realizing that something was about to begin.
He was ready.
The green-haired duchess had walked back towards her seat, angry at herself.
She tried and tried but was unable to help her knight, his self-loathing could not be stopped no matter what she said or did, she had failed once again.
Her eyes turned to yet another person she had failed; Natsuki Subaru.
New feelings had blossomed within the duchess's heart, specifically towards the boy, no, the man in front of her.
She saw this man fight tooth and nail to protect those he cares for, even in the darkest of depths he would always try and push forward.
Though there were times he needed to help, she wished to be the one to be there, to be by his side.
Crusch wanted Subaru to stand by her, not because of his ability, yes while it was a powerful thing that would allow him to bend reality to his will, it wasn't without cost, a cost that has already taken its toll.
No, Subaru was much more than that, he held true benevolence, a kind heart.
He had a will of fire that burned brightly even in the darkest of nights, tenacity unlike she has ever seen before.
A strong tactical mind, able to think of a solution under pressure as long as he is calm and collected. She fondly remembers working with him in the whale hunt.
If Subaru is with her once she becomes ruler of Legunica, she knew nothing could get in their way.
But she then remembers her actions during Arc 3, when she left him to his own devices while desperately trying to prevent a massacre. She understood why she took the decision that she did, but after witnessing the aftermath she just wished that she would have just taken the chance.
She just closed her eyes and shook her head, there is nothing she can do now but wait for whatever comes next.
Looking away is a weakness, so she looked on forward… composed.
Felt currently has her arm wrapped around Reinhard's while the Sword Saint just stares at the screen in thought.
The blonde felt an immense amount of respect for her big bro. He managed to one-up that trash of a clown at his own game and got to kiss Emilia. He persevered to the very end.
The only thing that is bugging her was the fact that she was unable to help during none of those hell loops, when her big bro needed help the most she wasn't there.
Why didn't he ask for help? Either way, she now has a mission: get Subaru to join her camp so that he will never have to face another hell alone again, plus it will give her knight a best friend.
She will do what it takes, even if she has to take in the whole camp; hell she would be glad to. She will also help Emilia with her unfreezing situation, she has to help her big sis right?
Felt just looked up towards what is known as the screen with a bit of a smirk in her face, her plan will come into reality.
Reinhard had a blank expression, yet his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, all berating himself for his uselessness.
'Why?'
'Why didn't I do more? How could I have let this happen?'
The question was eating him from the inside out. He was the Sword Saint, the protector of these lands, a hero. And yet he allowed all of this to happen.
His own friend, One of his only friends, faced adversity after adversity, all alone. Subaru has been pushed to the breaking point over and over again, only to be forced to cover it up and continue as if nothing is wrong, silenced.
Why didn't he ask for his help? Did Subaru not trust him?
No… He knew why. Why would Subaru trust him? He was a monster. Not a hero, he simply posed as one, tried his best to hide behind the title.
But Subaru was a true hero, he could bring a sense of relief to those around him, bring happiness to his friends and those he met.
All Reinhard could do was give that fake smile and say shallow words in an attempt to be reassuring.
Reinhard wasn't worthy of being called a friend, for he has done nothing for Subaru, all he did was watch, watch and do nothing as his mistakes were broadcasted in front of everyone.
Reinhard sighed and looked up. He knew what he was going to do next, first take care of the trash known as Roswaal and go from there, but then he had to face another truth…
The fact that he couldn't call Subaru a friend anymore… Man does that fucking hurt.
Anastasia can be seen fluffing her scarf while her spirit knight sat next to her.
'Now how to go on about it…' she thought, 'I need that boy in our camp'.
The reasoning for this was simple, one was the fact that Subaru comes from the Great Waterfall, just like the four great heroes.
This means he has great knowledge that if tapped into will allow for a great fortune that she would gladly share with the boy.
She also has grown tired of seeing the half-elf not giving proper compensation for the black-haired knight.
Both times when all he wanted was a proper response to his love, all he gets is an "I don't know" and instead of offering something in places such as money or reputation, she just leaves it as it is, takes yet doesn't give.
It's about time Subaru got what he deserves, proper respect and safety.
The purple-haired knight takes a look towards his lady and realizes she is deep in thought. "What are you currently thinking about Miss Anastasia?"
"Well isn't it obvious? A plan to get the boy to join us!" She responded, giving a sly smirk.
"Oh.. I see" responded the spirit knight, though his face soured a bit, he did not like the idea of trying to take away Subaru as if he was an object to be fought for.
He was a human being.
His friend… or so he still hoped so.
Julius is also one of many to have grown closer to the spiky-haired knight, his respect skyrocketing.
He severely regrets the many times he doubted Subaru's character. Subaru has shown that he was an honest, good-hearted man, always looking to improve the situation.
He would never abuse his ability for his own gain, he should have known that from the beginning if he truly was his friend.
Julius made a promise to himself, he would help Subaru, allow him to become stronger both physically and emotionally, and remind him that he isn't alone.
Julius knew that he would likely be unable to fully help his friend, but he had to try. He had to.
"Should I really follow through with such a plan?" Ricardo decided to walk into the conversation along with the twins.
Ricardo would love to have Subaru in his crew. He had guts and will, all he needed was some training.
But Ricardo knows that Subaru wants to stick by Emilia, the love of his life. While he understands his master's frustrations towards the incompetence the Emilia camp has shown, he also knows that Subaru understood exactly what he was doing and was what he wanted.
Ricardo wanted to respect his decision.
"Yes, we should!" responded the Merchant "Enough is enough. I am tired of seeing that boy do so much for soo little, proper action must be taken."
The camp could only back down towards their lady's command. Ricardo went ahead and took the twins back to their seats as they waited for whatever the screen was getting ready to show.
Priscilla and Al can be seen sitting calmly while staring into the screen, though she could be seen holding a cup while Al held a bottle of some expensive alcoholic drink, well he assumed it was expensive because it looked fancy as fuck.
The fiery princess is currently looking towards the boy that has captured her interests.
At first, she viewed him as nothing more than a fool, no pride, worthless.
But the viewings have changed that, well more like pointed out three good points out of the sea of terrible ones.
One, he was loyal, while disgusted by the fact that his loyalty is towards that disgusting half-wit, who has done nothing to earn such treatment, Priscilla couldn't help to want that undying loyalty to go to herself as she is much more deserving of such treatment.
Two, an unyielding tenacity to the likes she has never seen before, even outshining some strong warriors when it comes to this aspect. Even when he suggests giving up, his heart never truly does.
This surprised her due to the attitude the nasty-eyed knight had, he was very naive and had no true confidence in himself, he had no evidence to support such an idea yet he took blow after blow, stood up time and time again.
Even at his lowest, it didn't take much to get him back upon his feet, just simple words of encouragement.
Three, he was just a very entertaining individual. She enjoyed watching the lowly beings under her weep and regret their actions, their mistakes broadcasted for her enjoyment.
The only thing she didn't enjoy was seeing Subaru himself cry and disparage, not because of his emotional turmoil or the suffering, but because if a man is going to present themselves in front of her presence they should at least have some dignity.
" No matter," she thought as she placed her cup down. 'The boy will be joining us soon anyway'
Taking a final look at the half-wit's knight, she determined that he had a lot of flaws but nothing that can't be fixed by some proper discipline and once that is done, Subaru will be a good enough addition to her camp.
As a plus, when the boy wasn't bawling his eyes out like a little child, but instead had a look of pure determination while his sharp eyes showed the raging flame that was his will of fire…
He wasn't terrible looking, just needed a change in wardrobe to look presentable.
Al is currently thinking about all the misfortunes that his brother of a similar origin experienced.
His helmet hid it but his face twisted into one yielding fury, his poor brother had to deal with all of that, all in the name of what? Being a hero? 'Bullshit' he thought, tightening his grip on the bottle, Al glared through his helmet towards Emilia
That poor excuse of a camp, fucking christ, how? How the fuck did you people manage to let this shit slide? Some fucking friends your group are. Your "friend" is here slowly crumbling under the weight of his mental turmoil, yet the fake smile along with an "I'm alright" is enough to get past you.
Al balled his fist angrily.
'You damned fool' he took a glance at his black-haired brother, why didn't you walk away? You had so many opportunities, you had so many more reasons to run away than to stay, you owed these people nothing, so why?.
Al respected Subaru's vigor, but it was misplaced, it should have been focused on himself.
He let out a small sigh, it doesn't matter anyway, the princess had his eyes on Subaru and Al knew she was gonna get her way somehow, but at the very least he will be in better hands now.
'A new friend at least' he thought.
The screen finally flickers back to life. The cast readies itself for whatever the Warden has up next.
-Play InFAMOUS OST - Pleasant Empire by Jim Dooley-
The screen began to slowly fade in, the sounds of birds chirping could be heard as a soft and peaceful melody began to play. It revealed the skyline of a city.
The sky was dark yet light could be seen slowly spreading outward; the dawn of a new day. A large electronic billboard could be seen on top of a large building complex, advertising several different companies.
Many were surprised by the sudden change of scenery, this wasn't their world…
"This… this is Subaru's world, in fact," said Beatrice, she remembered the stories and descriptions her contractor would talk to her about.
The buildings that reached the clouds, "skyscrapers" was it? The large buildings that housed multiple stores, a "mall" is what it was called and much much more.
Everyone remembers the small suburbs where the Natsuki family lived, they also remember the small store where Subaru was taken away from. But this was much larger than any of that.
Anastasia had stars in her eyes.
This is the equivalent of the capital in their world but on a much MUCH larger scale, it was like nothing she had seen before. She just wished the screen showed more.
"That large sign!" pointed out the merchant "It's like some advertisement or something similar!"
The number of mental notes she was making was through the roof, she would take in every detail she could.
Al is currently at a loss for words, he almost dropped the bottle he had on his hands but was able to get a grip, he is getting to see more of his old world again, not just a small area but a whole damn city. 'What have I missed?' he thought, a small smile appearing under his helmet.
All were taking in the scenery, this is what technology is capable of? Such a large scale of buildings are reserved for governments and the wealthy, here these buildings are everywhere.
It's impressive to say the least.
Even larger buildings could be seen in the distance. In the forefront, a young man is seen walking down the sideway, away from the view the screen gave.
Kids could be heard playing and yelling at each other in joy, adults could be heard making conversation of some type though it was indiscernible. The city seemed to be in true peace.
The Duchess let out a small smile "It's… peaceful, a lulling calm."
Wilhelm also had a smile "It truly is."
This new environment is welcomed by everyone, this viewing, while important, was very very hard on almost everyone.
Subaru's journey has been a difficult one to say the least, nothing but death and unfair suffering. Watching the poor boy they called a friend slowly wither away, sometimes due to their inaction was infuriating
But now they can take their mind off of things for a bit.
Emilia and Rem got closer to their hero as they took in the sight.
'Maybe this is just showing us more of Subaru's world' thought Emilia 'Allow us to learn more about his past and help us get closer to him'
Yes with this new information they can have something to talk about and ease in the healing process, it would be a long journey but a well worth one.
-OST Cuts Out-
Suddenly a shockwave crashed into the area, the sound of everything shutting down echoed through the theater, blue electricity flashed on anything electronic, shutting out all light and delving the area into pure darkness. The camera went askew.
Petra let out a yelp at the sudden action.
Others either flinched or had a surprised look on their face.
"What th'hell?!" yelled out Garfiel, the sudden event knocking him out of his mental roadblock.
The girls around Subaru could only grimace at what the screen was showing.
A sudden white flash illuminated the screen, the camera seems to have been picked up by someone. The person took a look to the left and it revealed the cause of the current events.
"Oh, my…" spoke the Sword Saint, his blue eyes widening at the scene in front of him.
Felt just clenched her knight's arm even harder, a dark thought was trying to invade her headspace but she fought against it with all her might. "No, it can be, can it…?".
Al slams his fist into the armrest. "Great, fucking awesome" he growled under his breath.
There always needs to have some bullshit going on huh? But that wasn't the thing that was pissing him off, this isn't the worst thing he has ever seen.
He took a glance at the unconscious Subaru.
"If I had to put my money on it…" he grumbled, a deep grimace etched in his face, not that it could be seen by the others.
A large blue dome of light could be seen growing, consuming whatever it was in its path. The camera zoomed in and the dome suddenly burst out even further. Screams of civilians could be heard, many ran away from the area.
The knights could only grit their teeth and watch as the disaster unfolds, many innocents likely meeting their demise.
Julius was especially getting sick of it.
He is supposed to be out there to protect the innocent and make sure justice is served, not sitting on the sidelines.
But that is all he has been doing even before the viewings.
All of that in Sanctuary and the mansion was going on, and he was nowhere to be found while Subaru, his friend, was slowly being cut down by the endless sea of disasters.
"Damn it" was all the spirit knight could muster.
Out of nowhere, a car slammed near the camera, causing an explosion. Civilians could be seen on the ground either severely injured or deceased.
The cameraman took a look at the sky, seeing more debris. He turned and ran.
Felix was just getting more and more agitated, his magic seeping out of him.
How many people are hurt? Dead?
This is destruction like he has never seen before, in a largely populated area no less.
To say this was crushing the healer would be an understatement.
Crusch just looked on in anger and confusion.
Anger at the loss of innocent life, but confused on what caused this.
From what she understood, this was not taking place in some combat scenario/area, they were in a city which showed no sign of some enemy force invading.
"Tch" spat the Duchess, all she could do was watch and hope some explanation would come through.
The view changed to one from the sky. It showed the dome getting larger and larger, the city being completely engulfed by it.
"Wait, we are in the sky now?" questioned Otto.
"Yes, likely because of some invention from Subaru's world." responded Anastasia, all joy in her face sapped away.
"Man what the hell is that anyway!" exacerbated Ricardo "The whole damn city is going to be engulfed at this point."
Everyone just grimaced at that notion, the ball of light showed no sign of stopping.
Are they watching a whole city die?
"Oi, ya see that?" The beast boy pointed towards what looked like a black speck.
Otto squinted his eyes towards whatever his brother was pointing at. "is it… growing?"
The item got closer and closer, revealing to be a bus flying towards the screen. A loud crash can be heard, the screen cutting to black.
"HOLY SHIT" yelled out both Al and Ricardo.
Others just flinched as the object looked like it was going to smash through the screen.
Suddenly from the darkness of the screen, a rough voice began to speak "Activation plus six minutes. Pulse is forty-five. Respiration ten. Lookin' good Natsuki Subaru."
Al and Felt could only think up one word: "Fuck".
Turns out their suspicions were true, the young man was somewhere in that city.
Everyone in the room tensed up.
Subaru was in the middle of that?
"Let's calm down nyow" spoke Karsten's knight "Whoever that was said that Subaru is stable."
He was glad Subaru was ok, but "ok" in this type of situation isn't enough.
Who was that man? Was he gonna take the knight out of whatever situation he was in?
A pink-haired maid could only squint her eyes towards the screen in suspicion.
Something was up, she wouldn't speak on it since it's just a hunch at this point and she already knows what jumping to conclusions leads to.
But something was telling her that whoever that was, cannot be trusted.
The screen then showed Subaru unconscious on the ground laying on his side, his face showing signs of first-degree burns. Parts of his clothes are ripped and torn, the largest tear would be in his lower left abdomen which shows signs of severe burning. His hair is covered in dust and ash.
The room is filled with different iterations of the scarred knight's name.
Emilia and Rem held their hand towards their mouths in shock, once again their love was on the ground, injured, and burned all over.
Felix can be seen staring intently while his magic surged once again.
He looked into how badly the knight's injuries were. 'The burns aren't too bad,' he thought, but he was in some type of explosion, was he launched by the shockwave? If so it could have led to broken bones, could he even move?
Subaru suddenly awoke and then winced as the pain set in. "What the hell happened?" he asked as he slowly started to get up, using his right arm as support.
The view pans out as the aftermath is shown. Subaru is standing in the middle of a creator, molten rock surrounded all around him. The rubble of a large building behind him stacked high up. The sky was almost blood-red due to the spreading inferno all around the city. It was unparalleled mass destruction. "Oh god..." was all Subaru could muster as he took in the scene in front of him.
Everyone stared slack-jawed, a whole damn city was reduced to ruins.
Beatrice could only lean closer to her beloved contractor.
She remembers when he would talk about some of the technology his world had.
The weapons of war they had were unnerving to say the least, they had no magic but they figured out how to create some powerful weaponry.
But he never made a mention of a weapon that matched the description of what happened in front of her, the closest thing was what he called a "nuke" but he never mentioned a blue dome appearing when it is set off.
Either way, the scene unfolding was horrifying, how will they recover from this?
-Play InFAMOUS OST - Genesis By Jim Dooley & Amon Tobin-
"There is someone alive down there!" a voice was suddenly heard. Subaru turned around to be met by a large piece of metal seemingly floating in the air, some type of propeller can be seen spinning at high speeds.
"Woah! That thing is flying!" mentioned the purple-haired merchant, some of her curiosity spiking.
Beatrice went to speak but was interrupted by a man wearing a helmet. "That is a helicopter," said Al. "These vehicles are owned by government organizations and emergency personnel, it allows for fast mobility in the air."
The great spirit just silently pouted at the fact that her thunder was stolen.
The cat twins lit up, "So Subaru should be in safe hands now, right?"
Al shrugged "Should be."
'Hopefully anyway,' he thought, governments tend to show their true colors when times of crisis, and those colors tend to be a lot darker than one would like.
Subaru raised his hand towards his face, covering it from the blinding spotlight. A man in the helicopter could be seen hanging to the side, holding something up to his mouth, suddenly his voice could be heard amplified once again. "Hey! Hey! Can you walk?! If so, head towards there!" He proceeds to point away to something "Get to the bridge as soon as you can!"
"Wait.." mumbled the blue-haired maid. "They are just leaving him there?"
Her hero was clearly injured in the middle of a destroyed city, yet he is being left to his own devices?
Others also showed some slight outrage at the first responder's actions, to just tell a man to walk towards safety is doing really nothing.
Al just rolled his eyes "What a fucking surprise" he spat sarcastically.
Priscilla just hid most of her face with her fan. Though her eyes showed some distaste at the action taking place.
The helicopter suddenly swung to the side. "HEY! You, in the garage!" Subaru turned to his left, a man could be seen on the roof of the parking garage, the building was falling apart as a car fell off the roof, causing an explosion. "GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE, THE WHOLE THING IS COMING DOWN!" The helicopter turned around in a 180 and flew away.
Subaru turns to move but suddenly collapses to one knee, grunts of pain coming out of him. He winces as he says "I guess I'm more hurt than I thought".
The three girls around the sleeping knight just held him even closer, might even be crushing him at this point.
Reinhard just looked up towards the screen, watching yet again his friend had to fight something by his lonesome.
But he knew the kind of man Subaru was, "C'mon Subaru" he whispered. He will persevere.
Subaru looked up and around the area. He knew if he stayed he would perish. "Move Subaru" he mumbled to himself "MOVE!" He begins to somewhat jog forward with a severe limp, he also holds his left arm close to his chest.
"Leg is obviously damaged" grunted the healer knight "but it also looks like his left arm is fractured."
"Subaru…" was all the half-elf could muster, why must her precious knight be subjugated to such trials time and time again.
All she had seen was Subaru's suffering.
Tortured.
Murdered.
Forsaken.
And she HATED it, how could such a kind man be forced to go through such things, what made it worse was how a lot of his pain came from those who he thought were close to him, all of it under her nose no less.
All of this just reaffirmed her will to accomplish her previously stated promise.
She took a glance towards her Subaru "I will make it right, no matter what" she affirmed quietly.
As he made his way down from the makeshift pedestal of concrete he awoke from, suddenly cars around him exploded, raging fires spread around Subaru as he tried to push against the shockwaves.
Once again different iterations of the scarred knight are called out loud.
"The whole damn city is falling apart" exasperated Ricardo.
"Fucking hell…" grunted the one-armed servant.
The sword demon held a stoic face, he was deeply worried for the young knight, he just hoped he made it to safety soon enough.
Subaru's face suddenly contorted in worry and fear. 'Zeke, Trish…' he thought. He went to reach for something in his chest area but suddenly a voice could be heard coming from said area. "Subaru!? Subaru! You there!? C'mon man, pick up!"
The green merchant perked up at the concerned voice "An ally?" Otto uttered.
His beast brother gave a toothy smile at the prospect.
Julius gave a small smile. "A friend," he stated.
Subaru reaches for the phone/walkie-talkie and clicks a button on it, his face showing some respite from hearing his friend's voice, he was ok. "Zeke!" Subaru exclaimed "Oh man am I glad you're alright! What the hell happened?! Some type of explosion?!"
Subaru limped up a small concrete hill, there is a gap at the top between the hill and a hanging bus which leads to an escape from the crater.
He quickly goes for the jump.
He clears it perfectly.
Felix suddenly had a perplexed look on his face.
Crusch took a glance towards her knight, happy that he had escaped that pit of self-loathing he was in but noticed the confused look on his face. "What is wrong Felix?"
The cat boy looked towards his master "Well…" he remarked "It just that Subaru shouldn't have been able to make that jump"
At first, the duchess was confused at the comment, but then the point came across as she remembered the severe limp of the black-haired man. "How did he manage that." she thought.
"What's so surprising, eh?" hollered Garfiel, the boy looking back towards the healer "Cap'n has defeated much greater enemies before'' a proud smirk appears on the boy's face "that small jump 's nothing and no little injury 's gonna stop him, now quit yer yapping"
Many chuckled at the beast boy's outburst, his complete confidence in his friend.
Otto and Frederica were just happy that Garifel has escaped those terrible memories from arc 4, even if it's just for a small moment.
"Yea, no shit there was an explosion! The TV is saying that terrorists are blowing stuff up all over the city. Meet up at the Fremont Bridge. We'll get Trish and find somewhere to hunker down"
Subaru even with his situation allowed a faint smile to appear. "I'll meet you guys there. Thank god you guys are ok, stay safe" he meekly responded as he continued towards a broken-down ramp by another parking garage.
"You too brother, now hurry" Zeke ended the call.
Garfiel, Otto, Julius, and Reinhard smiled at the last statement, it can be seen that this guy Zeke is more than just an ally or simple friend.
Zeke and Subaru have been friends for a long time now and have had each other's backs.
Rem had a small smile on her face, 'Always thinking of everyone else…' she thought. He really was a hero through and through.
Beatrice, while still on her contractor's lap, had a small pout on her face. "You are in the middle of a literal wasteland" she quietly uttered, "You should focus on yourself first".
While she admired her contractor's kindness, he sometimes goes too far. His lack of self-preservation is irritating to say the least.
She will just have a serious conversation once he wakes up, which will hopefully be soon.
There was another gap between the ramp and the garage, luckily there is a car wedged between the gap allowing for a makeshift bridge.
Subaru climbs up on the car and safely crosses it.
But suddenly he notices blue sparks towards the corner of his left eye.
His eyes widen as he realizes what he is looking at but it is too late.
A broken-down power supply box spewing sparks of azure electricity.
A large lightning bolt explodes out from the power box and strikes Subaru directly in the chest.
"AAAGH!" Subaru screamed out as his body began to violently shake as the electricity flowed all around him, effectively electrocuting him.
Al's eyes widened under his helmet. "AW FUCK!" he shouted, much like the rest of the viewers.
But he had a much better understanding of what was going on, taking in electricity of one of those things isn't some measly shock, it's almost certain death.
Priscilla just looked at the lightshow uninterested, though she noticed the certain tone her servant had, something was up.
Ricardo and the twin mercenaries just winced at the display, that shit gotta hurt.
They have seen plenty of injuries as mercenaries but never someone straight up getting hit by a lightning bolt.
The electricity stops as thunder can be heard in the distance.
Subaru was still standing. He began examining himself, his face clearly showing confusion. "What the hell?! I-I should be dead" he exasperated.
"How the fuck is he alive?" questioned the helmeted servant.
Ram turned towards Al "Wouldn't it be just some luck?"
Al just shook his head "No," he clearly stated "I don't remember the exact specifics but the amount of power stored in those things guarantee death if struck"
"Wait," interjected Anastasia, "Your world learned to harness lightning bolts?"
Al raised his one arm and made the "so so" motion, "well not exactly, we can produce and harness electricity which is what lightning bolts are, not lightning bolts themselves".
The lady merchant suddenly sprung up with stars in her eyes once again, catching her camp off guard "Really?! How?!"
"OI!" shouted the blonde teen candidate, glaring at the excited merchant. "I would say we have much more important matters to fucking attend to!"
Anastasia was about to retort in anger but quickly noticed the wrath emanating from both the Karsten and Emilia camps along with the concerned looks from members of her own camp.
Priscilla had her face covered by her fan but behind it was nothing but a smirk. 'I really am surrounded by nothing but fools.' she thought.
The merchant just huffs while ruffling her scarf as she takes a seat.
Then he let out a tired chuckle "Well aren't I a lucky bastard". Subaru continued towards a corner.
Then suddenly a part of the roof crumbles, bringing a car with it, which explodes on impact, launching the nasty-eyed boy to the ground.
He let out a groan in pain as he rolled on the ground a bit "Yup, very fucking lucky indeed".
Some just dryly laughed at Subaru's attempt at humor.
Anything to keep the mood somewhat positive.
Though everyone knew the knight's luck was anything but favorable.
Subaru quickly pushed himself back onto his feet. He was exhausted and his injuries weren't making things any easier. He wiped some sweat off his face using his good arm. "C'mon Subaru," he thought "Gotta get to the others, it's not too far off now"
As he pushes forward, he notices that the garage was split in half, in front of him was a large chasm, the bottom filled with destroyed cars, chunks of concrete, and rubble.
The only way across was a collapsed pillar which was split in the middle by a large gap.
"Oh come the fuck on!" spoke out Felt. This was just getting ridiculous at this point.
Not matter what world he is in, it just really likes to fuck with em, just obstacle after obstacle.
Reinhard just puts a hand on Felt's shoulder. "I understand your frustrations," He really did, he has grown very tired at seeing the world throw nothing but misfortune towards Subaru, but allowing one's anger take over does nothing "but we must keep a level head"
"But.." the young candidate was about to talk back but noticed her knight's eyes.
He was doing his best to be as genuine as possible, it was no longer his white knight act.
Felt let out a small sigh as she went ahead and looked back towards the screen.
Subaru let out a deep sigh. "Man fuck it!" he spat, showing frustration. "Good thing I'm a free runner".
He quickly uses his good leg to propel himself up onto the pillar and begins to balance forward towards the said chasm. Fire, smoke, car alarms, and smaller explosions can be seen and heard all around.
Subaru gets closer towards the first half of the pillar, he looks down towards the abyss below him. The space between himself and his objective suddenly seemed to expand, the jump was not as close as Subaru thought at first.
"B-but where is there left to go?" stuttered the green merchant, a dark feeling was washing over him as his brother seemed to be stuck in a corner with no way out.
Luckily his other brother was there to shake these feelings from him. Garfiel proceeded to put a hand on his shoulder. "C'mon Otto,'' the young lad bellowed "Cap'n always finds a way out, he has done it once 'n he will do it again".
Otto looked towards Garfiel for a second and then gave a quick nod, he was doubting Subaru, falling into the same pit once again. "Thank you Garfiel, I needed that, ''he responded gratefully.
"Ya, ya, enough with the sentimental stuff, we got more to watch" stated Garfiel bluntly.
His face which was first filled with determination was now washed away and replaced by doubt and fear. He shakes his head, rethinking his idea.
But as he turns around, the building and pillar begin to shake violently as more of it falls apart, its last legs are down for the count.
"OH SHIIIT!" screamed the black-haired boy, his arms swinging in a panic as he is almost knocked out of balance because of the sudden volatile movement.
Emilia yelped her knight's name. "Please, please, please" she begged "Let Subaru make it out of this".
Rem and Beatriced got closer to the tenacious knight, well tried anyway considering they were already glued into him.
Crusch hitched her breath. Is the whole damn building going to collapse into him? Or is he gonna fall into the abyss?
Crusch shook her head in denial of either outcome, "He will see another day" she whispered "He has to".
Wilhelm held a stern but worried look. "Subaru-dono…" was all he mumbled.
Julius held a clenched fist with a face full of concern. 'His only option is that gap…' he thought 'Can he even..?' he quickly shook the dark thought that was closing in.
The rest other than Priscilla had similar thoughts. Can he make it out of this?
He turns back towards the jump. 'IT'S NOW OR NEVER' he thought, stealing himself for the gamble. He starts to move as quickly as he safely can.
Many held their breath, the only shot he has.
The gamble was set in place.
He reaches the edge of the pillar and with his good leg, he pushes as hard as he can, letting out a yell of exertion.
He flies across the gap, the jump reaching almost 5 feet as he clears it with no problems.
He quickly precision lands with his good leg, keeping himself balanced.
He takes a glance behind him and notices how the pillar he was standing on is no longer there, and half the parking garage he was in is now but a mountain of rubble and debris.
Many sighs of relief sounded throughout the theater.
"Thank Od…" tiredly stated the Sword Saint, somewhat relaxing his tensed body.
"See!" proudly hollered the shield of the Emilia camp "What'd I tell ya?"
Felix slumped back onto the chair, glad to see that Subaru made it out somehow.
'Something is definitely up' thought the catboy 'That jump just nyow is impossible for a person of Subaru's caliber even with free running experience much less being down a leg'
He placed a hand under his chin, making an inquisitive face, 'So how in the hell did he do that, magic? But as we've seen, his world has no magic…'
Felix quickly shook his head and focused back on the, he can bring it up later with everyone else.
He quickly continues forward and makes it towards the other half of the garage, he goes on towards some ramps that would lead down to the ground.
But suddenly another lightning bolt strikes the poor boy. A powerline cable had ruptured from inside the concrete floor. He didn't even know what hit him. He once again lets out a scream as he is again electrocuted.
Yet again the theater filled with concerned yells for the unfortunate knight.
Many remembered the words of Priscilla's servant, Subaru already had his luck tested, can he beat the odds once again?
Suddenly the electricity stops but the lightning lingers on Subaru's body, flowing all around his extremities.
As the boy looks down at himself still shaking, out of nowhere the electricity explodes out of Subaru and connects to some generator lights nearby.
They overload which leads to an explosion. Said incident causes another part of the roof to break apart, taking a car with it for another light show.
The car explosion causes a support beam to shatter, which brings a piece of concrete to fall down and create a ramp to the streets below.
Al was completely taken back by what he just saw "WHAT THE FUCK?!" he bellowed. It was one thing to see some huge explosion back in thier world but someone shooting lightning bolts from their fingertips? Hell no, 'what in god's name is happening?!' he thought.
Felix took the opportunity to give out his idea, "So that jump earlier, could it have been reinforcement magic?" he suggested.
"Preposterous!" yelled out the Great Spirit on Subaru's lap, "Betty's contractor has stated many times that magic is not existent in his home world in fact" Subaru would never hide such a thing from her.
"Well then what is your explanation for the jump and what happened just nyow?" retorted the healer knight.
Beatrice stood silent for a second, she tried her best to come up with some ideas but even with her four century's worth of knowledge, nothing added up. "I don't know I suppose…" she uttered.
Emilia decided to cut in with a suggestion, "Perhaps Subaru's world has yet to discover how to use magic?"
"Now while not completely out of the queeeestion," a voice sounded out, one that has yet to speak for a while, though some wouldn't have minded if he kept his mouth shut.
"Considering how important maaaagic is in our world and society, I really doubt Subaru's wooooorld would miss something like thaaaat" stated Roswaal.
While many despised the clown, his despicable actions still fresh in their minds, they had to acknowledge his stated point.
Al, while still utterly confused, began to question the intelligence of his people back home.
'I mean humanity can be pretty fucking stupid,' he thought 'Could we have missed something like magic?'
Subaru's face is now one of genuine concern, he looks down to his shaking hands and back to the site of the incident. He thinks back to the jump he did earlier, with a busted leg like he has there is no way he should have made that jump.``W-what the hell is h-happening to me…?" he shakingly mumbles. "T-this doesn't make a-any sense."
He shakes his head, knocking him out of his stupor. 'Worry about it later' he thought 'I'm right there '.
The nasty-eyed boy jumps down to the fallen ramp and limps his way down to the middle of the road.
He looks towards his left and sees what remains of the Fremont bridge. The entrance is filled with emergency personnel; police, medical, firefighters, you name it. There were also a lot of civilians, many on the ground injured either with medics treating them or waiting on their turn.
As Subaru continues to limp forward, he comes across a line of bodies covered by tarps. He looks down in sadness and pity. "Fucking hell…" he whispers as he glances back towards what is left of the city; nothing but destroyed buildings on fire. "This isn't even a quarter of it."
The knights in the group were clenching their fists once again in frustration, being nothing but spectators.
Emilia had tears in her eyes with her hand to her mouth, crying for the lost lives in the tragedy.
Rem and Ram were having some bad memories resurfacing. Subaru along with all the other innocents left had their homes and families ripped away in a fiery hell.
"You've had everything taken from you too Barusu?" uttered the pink-haired. The boy really has seen nothing but hell.
Crusch and Wilhelm just closed their eyes in both sadness and respect to those that lost their lives.
Anastasia along with the Mercenaries could only look on in shock, a whole city like this taken down in a single attack.
Frederica just held Petra close, trying to shield her from the terrible scene, though the small maid was already shedding tears at the sight.
The helicopter flies down towards the bridge and hovers over it. The man once again begins to speak."REMAIN CALM! Once again if you are able to walk, cross the bridge and enter the Neon district. More emergency personnel will come for those unable to move on their own."
"They still haven't sent the proper authorities yet?!" shouted the outraged healer.
Many agreed with Felix's anger, seeing the emergency personnel do almost nothing was downright terrible.
Subaru continues towards the bridge when he suddenly hears a familiar voice. "SUBARU!" yells Zeke. Zeke could be seen about halfway into the bridge; waving towards the black-haired boy. His attire consisted of a black jacket and a yellow undershirt, he had some tactical vest over all of it, some black pants and shoes, and some type of golden glasses with black tint. His hair was slicked back.
Zeke's face filled with joy as he saw his brother emerge from the opposite side of the bridge, but then quickly shifted into a more serious tone. He waves towards the nasty-eyed boy, urging him to come to him. "We gotta go!"
Subaru quickly went ahead to cross the bridge but for a third time, two large lightning bolts struck him once again from the bridge's busted control panels. The boy yelped out in pain as he felt the electricity course through his body.
"WHAT?! HOW?!" shouted the green merchant. Struck THREE different times in a row? He knew Subaru's luck had been downright horrendous but this is just getting out of hand.
Emilia, Rem, and Beatrice were getting fucking tired of it at this point. The boy all three care for receives nothing but abuse no matter where he is.
Al had to resist letting out a laugh, at this point it has to be some terrible joke, he has seen some shit fucking luck; hell even experienced some himself but ooooh boy, this is a whole other beast.
'That's something fucking else' he thought.
"OH FOR THE LOVE OF-" Felt slammed her small fist into the armrest, though she quickly felt a hand land on her shoulder.
"I understand your frustrations Felt-sama but I ask you to please calm down." voiced Reinhard with a tired look.
Felt was about to retort but taking a look at her knight's face, she decided to just go with it for now.
The lightning went and flowed directly into his arms, the electricity covered all around his limbs. Suddenly a large lightning strike crashes from the sky and strikes one of the police cars, causing a large explosion and engulfing anyone nearby in flames.
"WOAH!" yelled out Garfiel.
"Wait, there weren't any storms taking place in the area." stated the purple-haired spirit knight.
"Yea, no something is going on with Subaru" discussed Al "That jump and him being able to tank those hits, could he have really discovered magic in our world?" The idea seemed ridiculous to him, but what else could it be?
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" yelled out Subaru, the boy took a quick look behind him, seeing the incident take place. Yet another lightning strike, and another, and another.
He looks back towards his hands and notices how the electricity is still flowing around his arms, the azure bolts crackling with power. Subaru's eyes constrict, turning into black dots.
The noise around him begins to fade, everything except screams of despair and agony.
The black-haired survivor looks back up again and is met with what can only be described as hell on earth.
Men, women running around in flames, screaming incoherence as they desperately attempt to put out the flames to no avail.
The lightning just kept coming down, no mercy. Those who aren't in the flaming inferno were getting struck down by the storm.
Petra quickly hid in the arms of the beast maid trying to look away from the horrific sight infront of her.
The Mercenaries could on look on in disgust, they have seen a lot of terrible things in their line of work, from injuries to deaths, but it never got any easier to look at and much worse was that civilians were involved.
"Wait…" Subaru begins to leak tears, the screams invading his mind to no end.
Ram's eyes widen in realization, she has gotten to know much more about the boy at this point, and know what dark ideas were beginning to fill his mind. 'Barusu you fool..' she thought. She didn't want to the poor knight's soul be crushed once again by things out of his control
He slowly looks back down towards his hands, it's still there…
Emilia and Rem were also starting to get the picture and quickly hugged the knight.
Their hero always chooses to burden himself with things outside his control, and it eats away at him.
They saw first hand how far this mindset took him, his self-deprication reaching levels far from what they could have ever anticipate
"Please stop it…" begged the half-elf. To take blow after blow, it's no way to live.
"This is…" a sickness is filling his entire being, his face twisting into one of utter despair
Wilhelm and Crusch can only grit their teeth at how everything was unfolding.
They knew how the knight operated, his care for those around him even if he didn't know them very well was always at a high.
The Sword Demon remembers how Subaru made the promise that no casualties would be met in the battle againts Sloth and the White Whale and how deeply it effected him the loss of a few soldiers in one of his loops.
'Subaru-dono,' he thought 'enough with this nonsensical way thinking, you are human, remember that'
He admired his benevolence but he always took it a step too far.
"My…" his being begins to tremble "fault…?".
"THAT IS FALSE IN FACT" shreaked Beatrice.
If Subaru really accidentally discovered magic, then that means that there is no way for him to know how to control it, harness it. Nor could he go and learn.
Not to mention that the laws of magic in his world could be completely different from theirs, it must have been terrifying.
Yet here the boy is still blaming himself, what could he do? What did he expect himself to do?
She has grown tired of it!
"SUBARU!" a yell knocks the panicking boy out of his daze. "WHAT IN THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?! RUN!" commanded Zeke.
At that point many were grateful for Zeke, Subaru had someone to rely on and clearly cared for him. Zeke had all the reasons to run away from the scene yet stook by.
Rem had a small smile shine through. "Thank you" she whispered, the man helped Subaru out of the rut he was digging himself into.
Subaru just begins to move as fast as he can across the bridge, which at this point was just twisted metal barely keeping itself together.
The lightning storm followed the poor boy as his arms were still engulfed in electricity, confirming his nightmare.
Another bolt strikes down from the heavens but before it can make landfall, it strikes the flying helicopter, causing yet another large explosion above Subaru. "Oh god, oh my god no, NO, NO!" The boy stops in his tracks at the site of the disaster. "PLEASE JUST MAKE IT STOP!" begged the poor nasty-eyed boy as tears once again began to fill his eyes, not wanting to take yet another life.
Many pitied the knight, he has lost control of this new ability to no fault of his own.
He just had to push on and somehow make it out of this.
'Hopefully his mana can run out soon' thought Felix; assuming that his ability is magic related, he didn't blame Subaru for the loss of life, he had enough of doing that and wouldn't commit that mistake again, but did wish for the loss of life to stop.
"KEEP MOVING DUMBASS!" screamed out Zeke "THE BRIDGE IS FALLING APART"
Subaru hesitates for a second. 'Nonono, not my best friend, not like this'. He thought but suddenly the bridge started to shake, the storm was breaking apart the bridge even faster.
Subaru registers this but suddenly he is hit with a wave of vertigo along with a splitting headache. "AGH MY HEAD!" he yelled out, grasping for his head in pain, he just began to slowly push forward towards the Neon district. The discomfort is getting worse and worse.
"C'MON YOU ARE RIGHT THERE, JUST A LITTLE MORE" screamed out Zeke.
Subaru was pushing forward as best he can, he feels his injuries hurting more and more, himself just getting worse and worse.
The lighting stops, the flow of electricity fades from Subaru's arms as he makes it across the bridge. "Subaru!" yelled out a female voice. 'Trish…' was Subaru's final thought before he collapsed on the ground and the screen cut out to black.
-OST cuts out-
"OI, That's it?!" shouted Garifel, he needed to know what happened exactly to his cap'n!
"Relax Garfiel, Zeke and the one woman was there before he collapsed, he is in safe hands." quickly reassured Otto.
Though he was worried for Subaru, at least that means he likely had a ticket out of there and will be met with proper attention.
Emilia was happy that her knight managed to make it somewhere safe, though one thought was crossing her mind. 'Who was that girl?' The thought, though quickly disposed of it for now, there are more pressing matters to focus on, though the idea was still in the back of her head.
Before anyone could add or say anything, a voice suddenly bellowed from the screen.
"SO! How are you guys feeling so far?"
"Wait," suddenly interjected Crusch, noticing something off. "Your voice, it doesn't belong to the Warden, Who are you?!"
Others also had their curiosity spiked, the being that has them entrapped here changed? And for what purpose?
"My name matters not and neither will you see me very often, as for what happened to the one you call Warden; well he is taking care of some... pressing matters. Nothing to worry about."
"Well then, what brings you out now?" spoke out the Sword Saint.
"I just need to set a few things straight…"
END OF CH 1
Author's Note #2: Well well well, I actually fucking did it. I apologize if this isn't the best writing, along with its unoriginality. it's my first crack at writing anything story-wise and I thought something like this can be a nice starting point, plus reaction fics were my introduction to any of this.
Feel free to judge my writing and suggest ways to improve. I'm not afraid of learning the hard way and it can only lead to improvements and will allow me to gain the skills to do some decent writing.
Well in any case, I hope this was somewhat enjoyable to read, as I want to give people something to enjoy while the much much much better fics are getting updated.
