"Can you be a hero, even without a quirk?! With hard work, do you think I can do it...?"

All Might stared at the frail boy who looked as if his spirit could be broken at any moment. Toshinori could tell that the answer he gave this boy could change many things for him... but it could also lead to his death. In this world dominated by powerful beings, a person without a quirk can't stand against those odds.

With a heavy heart, Toshinori turned towards the young green-haired boy and responded.

"No, it's not possible, I'm afraid. Without a quirk, there's not a lot you could do. Maybe try becoming a police officer, they may not be as direct as heroes, but they still save lives".

At that moment, Izuku Midoriya's world shattered. He swallowed, trying to rebut the statement that came out of the number one hero's mouth. But nothing came out. After all, it was a truth he had known for some time now. A person with a basic strength enhancer quirk could easily crush a regular quirkless individual. There are support items, but there has yet to be a hero who only uses said things.

Izuku collapsed on his rear, a few tears falling as Toshinori walked past him. Toshinori debated comforting the young man but knew that all it would be seen as a pity. With that, he continued to his destination, frowning as he destroyed the dreams of a young man.

Izuku looked blankly over Musutafu; with his dreams being destroyed and having no backup plan, he was lost. He was so deep in thought that he didn't even notice the commotion or massive explosions going on as he walked to his old thinking spot, Dagobah beach.

He looked in disgust at his old thinking place. What once was a beautiful beach to die for was now cluttered with garbage, old dirty furniture, and things of the sort. He searched around until he found a clean spot and had a decent view of the water. It was then that he noticed he wasn't alone.

He squinted as in the distance he saw a man with the spikiest haircut that rivaled even Bakugo's infamous bed head. He wore a light blue martial arts gi and greenish gi pants with black martial art shoes to finish the outfit. It seemed as if he was meditating, his white hair flowing nonchalantly with the breeze. Izuku was mesmerized. Never has he seen a person so calm and tranquil.

As if the man sensed his gaze, he suddenly opened his eyes and looked back at Izuku.

Silver eyes. The most intimidating yet calm eyes.

Izuku was so amazed that he didn't notice the man approach him.

"Hello there, my name's Goku! What about you?" The man asked with a calm tone.

"I-Izuku Midoriya, sir!" Izuku stuttered out. 'Son Goku? That name sounds awfully familiar...'

Goku chuckled and rubbed the young boy's hair. He reminded him of Gohan when he was young. Polite and shy to a fault. While doing this, Goku checked to see if the boy had any Ki. It had been thousands of years since Goku has seen another being with ki since these 'quirks' came around. 'Hm, about a 10... but there's a deep, deep amount of potential. Scary amounts, almost like something is dormant inside. But he has ki! I can't waste this opportunity! His mental state is a mess, though...' Goku closed his eyes in concentration as he went through the boy's life. All his troubles, sadness, anger, and frustrations. "Izuku, right? Is something wrong? I may not be the smartest, but I think I can listen to your troubles!"

Izuku hesitated a little before something told him to speak to Goku. And so, Izuku sat down with Goku and told him everything from him being diagnosed as quirkless to being told he couldn't be a hero by his ex number one pro hero All Might. After telling Goku all his troubles, it was silent for a few moments. Izuku was fearful.'What if he judges me for being quirkless? What if he thinks that I deserved everything that happened to me?'

What he asked next surprised the young man.

"Tell me, Izuku, have you ever heard of 'Ki'?"

Izuku had heard of it, but he's never had an understanding of it. "I've heard of it, but I don't know much about it, sir."

"That's understandable; not a lot of people of this time do...". Before Izuku could question what he meant, Goku continued with his explanation. "Ki is basically your life energy. It controls your actions and with proper control can let you do powerful things such as flight, blasts, and huge strength enhancement."

Izuku eyes sparkled with curiosity as he listened intently to Goku. "Can you use Ki, ?" Izuku asked. Goku merely smirked before levitating off the ground and flying around, doing flips through the air to show off. He landed and smiled at Izuku.

"Yup, and before you ask, no, it's not a quirk. Everyone had it, but it died off when quirks started developing! Most people don't have the potential to control it."

At hearing the last part, Izuku looked down in disappointment. 'There goes my only chance of becoming a hero.'

"The reason I asked you about ki Izuku is that you have ki. You have a dormant potential in you that will lead to amazing things with the right intentions"!

Izuku looked up at Goku with widened eyes as the sun started shining behind Goku, making his silver eyes shine even more. "I think with the right training from me..."Izuku started to slowly cry as he clenched his hand over his heart, dropping to his knees.

"I can make you the greatest hero that ever lived..."
