Okay, so I've decided to try my hand at writing fanfiction! This is my first fic, so I hope you guys/gals go easy on me and show me some mercy with your constructive criticism. This is an idea I've had for a while honestly and I finally decided to put it on paper and see if the fanfiction universe would like it as well. It's gonna be a Fem!Naruto and a Jinton!Naruto fic and I personally think 'Naruko' is overused in Fem!Naruto fics so I'm going to switch it up a bit with Namiko. The main pairing for the fic is gonna be Fem!Naruto(Namiko)xShikamaru.

That's about it…so, without further ado…enjoy!

Konoha's Orange Comet!

Chapter 1: The Way of the Ninja!

Pain.

Pain was all she felt.

Namiko Uzumaki's pain was no ordinary pain, however. It was a mixture of physical pain from the grueling battle she'd been enduring for the past twenty odd minutes; mental pain from all that had been rushing through her mind up until this point; and emotional pain from what lay in front of her.

Her teammate and self-proclaimed rival, Sasuke Uchiha stood reminiscent of a pin cushion in front of her, riddle with senbon needles. The attacked had been meant for her, but the black haired, onyx-eyed heir to the Uchiha clan had jumped in front of Namiko and had taken the attack on her behalf.

"Sasuke! Why?!" She screamed as the Uchiha coughed up the crimson liquid that ran through his veins. "I never asked for your help!"

Though Namiko couldn't see, Sasuke half smirked as he spoke.

"I don't know, my body just moved on its own…scaredy cat."

Slowly, Sasuke began to fall back and was caught by the Uzumaki, who was finally seeing Sasuke's face since he had taken the dozens of senbon needles to his arms, legs, and torso. A pained expression was on his face as blood trickled down the corners of his mouth and onto the cold, wet floor of the bridge.

"My brother," Sasuke began weakly, "He's still out there. I promised…myself…that I would stay…alive…until I killed him." The Uchiha's eyes closed. "Namiko…don't let your dream die." Was Sasuke's last words as his body went limp in the Uzumaki's arms, and his breathing come to a standstill.

As Sasuke's heartbeat came to a stop, the only sound Namiko could hear was her own heartbeat, and by Kami was it deafening.

"He was a true shinobi, worthy of honor," Came the voice of the masked ninja Namiko and Sasuke had been battling. "Is this your first time seeing a friend die in battle? This is part of what I means to be a ninja."

"Shut up!" Namiko took a few seconds to compose herself and slow down her heartrate. Softly, she placed Sasuke's body on the ground. "You'll pay for this."

The mask nin said nothing for a few seconds, then spoke.

"I'll give you one last chance to surrender. I'd hate to have to kill both of you."

"I said SHUT UP!"

And, just like a millennium old volcano that had reached its zenith. Namiko erupted.

The masked ninja stumbled back as menacing red chakra began to swirl around the orange-clad kunoichi, chipping up the concrete of the bridge as it violently lashed around the blonde.

"This chakra…it's so powerful that it's visible." He exclaimed in shock, and slight fear. "I can feel the wrath, the bloodlust and the raw power…it's like evil itself."

The masked nin watched as the senbon that had protruded Namiko's skin began to fall off, and the various cuts and bruises on the girl's skin began to heal at an extraordinary pace. The hunter nin could see that Namiko's fingernails had grown sharper, the whisker marks she sported had become more defined and as Namiko lifted her head to meet his gaze, he audibly gasped.

Azure blue eyes had been replaced by red slit eyes and they glared at the hunter nin angrily.

"I'm gonna kill you!"

Kakashi Hatake was startled by an intense chakra that suddenly plagued the battlefield. The air around him seemed to take on a rather ominous atmosphere. He immediately directed his focus towards the direction of the source, where two of his students were facing off against Zabuza's accomplice.

It had been a bit more than thirteen years since he last felt it, so it took him a moment or two to recognize the source but once he placed it, his eyes widened.

"The Nine Tails! Has the seal been broken?" He thought to himself. He had no doubt that the Demon of the Mist also felt the sudden burst of malicious charka, but for the moment that wasn't important. "No, it's no broken but the Fox's chakra is leaking out…somethings happened."

With that thought in mind, Kakashi removed a scroll from his Jounin vest, unraveled it and smeared some of his blood across it. "Zabuza," the copy ninjas voice came. "I know you like to prolong these kinds of events, but how do you say we wrap this one up quickly?" Hatake asked. "I mean, we're both busy people."

"I have to say Kakashi…it's tempting," Zabuza's voice echoed through the mist around Kakashi. "Consider me intrigued to see how you're going to back up such a bold claim. Show me, Kakashi!"

Xxxxx

Haku Momochi could only stare as Namiko got down on all fours and let out a menacing roar towards him. At this point, he was beginning to sweat a little from the killer intent the dark chakra was sending his way.

"This is bad." He thought to himself as his eyes widened.

In a blur of speed…a flash if you will…Namiko dashed towards the hunter nin who in turn, launched a volley of senbon towards the blonde Konoha genin from within one of his many mirrors then quickly switched to another mirror.

"What speed!"

By the time he had switched mirrors, Namiko had already reached the crystal mirror he had occupied just seconds ago, having dodged the senbon he threw. But that was fine, it was just a distraction after all. As Namiko's attention was on the previous mirror, the hunter nin dashed at her with remarkable speed, aiming to stab the furious kunoichi.

However, it was not to be.

Using that remarkable speed that had appeared from seemingly nowhere, Namiko dodged the stab of Zabuza's aid and delivered a bone crunching punch to the mid-drift of the masked ninja sending him tumbling along the cold floor a few dozen feet.

Within a matter of seconds Namiko was upon him again with her arms outstretched, ready to claw the life out of him with her sharpened claws. Haku had just enough time to jump away as Namiko's hand came crashing down, creating a crater on the floor of the bridge.

His instinct kicked in as he readied a counter-attack.

However, it was a futile effort. Namiko once again showed that speed and was on top of Haku in an instant. She grabbed him by his clothes and delivered a punch to his face that broke his hunter nin mask and once again sent him reeling back on the concrete.

Haku tried to retaliate with his senbon but could only grunt in pain as Namiko slammed her feet onto his arm. She was about to smash her fist into his face and deliver the killer blow but stopped it a few inches from his face.

Her awareness was slowly coming back to her and Haku could see her red eyes revert back into the joyful blue they were before.

"It's you…from the forest." Namiko said, her voice faint.

The boy coughed, the blows Namiko delivered taking its toll. "I suppose you…win this battle," Haku spoke weakly, his dull black eyes staring at Namiko's azure blue ones.

"Why?" Namiko asked softly, though her voice grew in intensity. "Why'd you kill Sasuke?! Why are you working for scum like Zabuza?"

Haku took his gaze off of Namiko and looked upwards, towards the grey sky. "Because he's important…to me," the hunter nin began. "When I was all alone, Zabuza-sama was the one who took me in…and for that I owe him everything…even my life," He looked at her once more. "Do you know what that's like? To be alone…to not be wanted."

The look on Namiko's face was all the answer Haku needed to know that she did indeed know what that life was like.

Haku offered Namiko a weak smile as his eyes closed and his breathing came to a stop.

Zabuza could sense that Kakashi had used a jutsu, and for that he berated him. For all the ninja that Kakashi was, him and his jutsu were practically helpless in the mist.

Just like the many shinobi that had faced off Zabuza in the past, they were no match for him and his silent killing technique, not even the comrades he had fought timeless time with – the Seven Swordsman of the Mist. No one could match him here, where sound and sight were useless to all but him.

"Kakashi, you're right…it's time I finish this." That's when the Demon of the Mist sensed it. Something was moving underground, coming towards him. Suddenly, the ground beneath him cracked and revealed something he didn't expect.

"A dog?"

The simple raising of his foot was enough to avoid the dog chomping his leg, unfortunately he was unable to dodge a second set of teeth from another dog that came from below. This one made contact and he cried out in pain, before more dogs of different breeds – including a human sized bulldog – tore their way through the ground, their barks and howls filling the air around him.

He struggled to get free, but his attempts were pointless. Each of his legs had two dogs gripping onto them, his right arm had a single canine holding on to it, and last but certainly not least, the bulldog bit into his shoulder and used its paws to hold his left arm in place.

"This is what happens when your eyes wander in fog," he heard Kakashi's voice. "This is a summon jutsu design for pursuit and these are my ninja hounds, their sense of smell is rivaled by none." By this time the fog had cleared somewhat and Kakashi eyes met Zabuza's. "You've played into my hands perfectly. I deliberately let you cut me so that my blood would be on your weapon so they would be able to track you."

Zabuza clicked his teeth. "I've had enough of your bluffs."

"There's nothing you can do in this situation," Kakashi began. "The fog has already lifted...I can see your future…and it's death."

"All you do it talk Hatake, is that how you mean to kill me?"

Kakashi ignored the dig. "Do you think I've made it this far being a shinobi with just the Sharingan? Here's a justu I didn't copy, one of my own."

Kakashi ran through a set of hand seals before holding his palm upwards. And Zabuza could see lightning flashing around him as well as his palm overflowing with lightning chakra.

"Raikiri!"

Zabuza could only watch as the lightning continued to spark in Kakashi's hand.

"This bridge is too important to the people of Wave; therefore I won't let you sacrifice Tazuna for your own goals." He glared at Zabuza menacingly, his disapproval clear as day. "That's not the way of the ninja."

Zabuza, having recovered from seeing such a powerful attack looked at the silver haired jonin. "Does it look like I care Kakashi? I couldn't care less about this petty village and their people! I have ambitions of my own, and I will make them reality."

Kakashi continued to stare with the orb of lightning fully alive in his hand. "I'll say it again…surrender."

"Over my dead body!"

The irony of the poor choice of words were Kakashi's only thought as he charged the missing nin.

Zabuza struggled to get free but his attempts were for nought, so he did the next best thing. He hoped that like always, Haku would come to his side and rescue him. But help never came.

He felt nothing but pain in his chest as Kakashi's jutsu pierced him, going straight through like a hot knife through butter. He coughed up blood and it dyed the wrapping he used for his face, then his eyes closed, and his body went limp.

xxxxx

Namiko had left Haku's body in order to try and not only find Sasuke's body, but to regain her bearings. Her mind was extremely foggy, as foggy as the area they had been battling in – no pun intended. Her feet burned, it was as if she was walking in fire, and every step made her face scrunch up in pain.

Not to mention she was extremely annoyed, not being able to find Sasuke's body. She might as well have been walking in a dark maze at night, yeah…it was that bad.

'Ugh! I can barely tell up from down in this stupid fog!' She mentally screamed. 'I need to find…what the…?' It was at this point that the mist began to clear and some light began to peak through. She was finally able to make out where she was on the bridge. She looked around for a few before seeing two tall figures standing inches apart in the fog, and through pained steps she made her way towards them.

When they came into view she saw her sensei's hand through Zabuza's body, which was being held by multiple dogs sporting Konoha insignia on them. They need not hold his body though as she could tell their target was deceased.

"Kakashi-sensei." Kakashi looked towards Namiko as he removed his hand from Zabuza's chest and the ninja dogs release his body, allowing him to fall to the ground in a heap. Namiko watched as all the ninja hounds sat obediently before Kakashi gave them the signal to go back to wherever it was they came from.

After they dispersed, Kakashi turned to Namiko. "Namiko, I'm guessing it's done with on you end as well?" The blonde girl's facial expression told him all he needed to know. "I see…"

Kakashi slid his hitai-ate over his Sharingan eye and grabbed Namiko's shoulder, leading her in the direction of Sakura and the old man they had been hired to guard. Soon enough, Sakura and Tazuna came into view and ran towards them.

"Kakashi-sensei! Namiko! Did you guys win?" Sakura asked. Before either could respond her eyes met Namiko's and she noticed they were cold, and without life which was an anomaly for the brash and knuckleheaded kunoichi. She automatically assumed the worst. "Are you okay…? Where's Sasuke-kun…?"

Namiko could only look away, as a few tears formed in her eyes.

Before Sakura could elaborate on her concern, Kakashi started off in another direction and gestured for all to follow him. Tazuna and Sakura followed him without thinking twice, however Namiko showed some hesitation before she begrudgingly followed after the group.

They passed Haku's body and after a few more step came upon a beaten, bruised, senbon-riddled Sasuke that lay on the wet floor motionless. "Sasuke-kun!" Once she spotted Sasuke she dashed past Kakashi and fell to the Uchiha's side. "His body is so cold…and he's not breathing." Her mind subconsciously went back to Team 7's bell test, when Kakashi had placed her under a Genjutsu depicting Sasuke being near death. "…It's not an illusion this time." She whispered, to herself mainly, but those around her heard.

Kakashi looked at his remaining two genin. As shinobi this probably wouldn't be the last time they witness a comrade die and he also chastised himself for continuing the mission, letting it reach this far. "Namiko, Sakura. As ninja, we're taught to be emotionless tools for our village that need to do whatever needs to be done to complete the mission at hand, but I won't think any less of you if you cry."

As the words left his mouth, Kakashi watched as Sakura hunched over Sasuke's body and began to cry, sobbing his name while she did. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw Namiko fall to her knees and let the tears out as well.

It was at this point that the jonin noticed that parts of her feet – around the ankle, the heel area, and the bridge of her foot – were red, as if they had been burned by chakra. He decided to pull her aside later and question her about it when they heard clapping in the distance.

"I must say, if I knew you were the better shinobi I would have hired you." A rather slick voice could be heard. Kakashi and Tazuna turned to see a very short man sporting sunglasses, an expensive suit, and a cane smirking. Behind him, what could only be described as a tiny army stood.

Kakashi noted that they were nothing more than mere thugs. They could probably use little chakra, if any.

"Gato…" Tazuna growled angrily.

"Now, now Tazuna, let me thank the nice Konoha nin for taking care of my Zabuza problem…so much for 'Demon of the Hidden Mist' am I right?" Gato chuckled. His 'tiny arm' followed his lead and laughed as well.

"Why am I surprised…double crossing is like second nature to trash like yourself." Kakashi's voice was cooled as he glared towards Gato and his men.

"Hey…don't be like that. I had nothing personal with Zabuza or his side-kick, it's just business as usual." Gato replied, finding Kakashi criticism amusing. "As we're on said topic, if you could take out a few of these guys before they finish you off that'd be great."

Kakashi didn't know why but he was surprised when none of the men had a problem with Gato's statement. "Shows just how much scum these people are." Were his thoughts to himself. But he knew that Gato made a mistake first and foremost. Untrained thugs to defend himself against training shinobi? Big mistake.

"Namiko…" Kakashi spoke quietly to the blonde kunoichi who looked at him with a face that screamed she was pissed, the tears still in her eyes. "I'm a little low on chakra, I know you're probably drained and in pain from the looks of your feet, but do you think you can back me up?" The copy nin asked.

Namiko looked at him in a quizzical manner before turning her attention to her feet, finally noticing the chakra burns. She had of course felt her feet burning before but played it down as the Kyuubi's chakra. Maybe that's where the burns were from?

With a determined nod at Kakashi she slowly stood up, wincing as she did.

Kakashi then started walking towards Gato and co. "Well Gato, I think I'm the one who owes you a thanks," Kakashi began as he took out two kunai from his pouch, readying to attack. He didn't even bother to use his Sharingan, it would be a waste against the scum he was about to face. "I'm in a pretty sour mood right now and I believe you've given me quite the opportunity to…how should I put this…? Alleviate the tress."

Kakashi broke off into a sprint, hearing the sound of Namiko's shadow clone jutsu activating behind him and soon, dozens of footsteps were following him, charging towards Gato and the scum he employed.

Seeing the Konoha nin charge at him, Gato's once confident face turned into one of utter dread. "Don't just stand there you fools! Kill them!"

Some of Gato's men began charging at Kakashi and the few Namiko clones that were with him, confident that their numbers would come out on top but soon enough, they were proved wrong.

But it wasn't by the Konoha jonin, but the genin.

Kakashi watched in awe as an orange blur sped passed him, then delivered a swift kick to the face of the thug who had been furthest forward. His lone eye widened, getting flashback of something familiar from more than a decade ago.

When the figure had stopped moving he saw that it was Namiko who had practically moved at the speed of sound. But what stuck out to the copy nin was the fact that her hair seemed to be floating upwards on its own, with a charming golden glow around her already gold locks.

By the time she had landed on the ground and began to attack other thugs Kakashi and the clones had gotten there as well and what could only be described as a massacre ensued. Kakashi ran through the thick of the crowd, heading straight for Gato. To get passed his thugs he either kicked them to the side or incapacitated them somehow…if they were lucky. If he couldn't bend his body in the necessary angle to get in kick he would simply use his kunai to cut them down.

The Namiko clones were simply lashing out at all those who came their way. Don't tell them, but they were expendable. If they got cut down so what? They only disappeared in a cloud of smoke. The original Namiko was moving like a blur in between thugs, knocking them down like a bowling ball would knock down pins.

Not even Kakashi's trained eye could keep up with her movements, he had unveiled his Sharingan to keep track of her in the battle and even then he occasionally missed her.

"Just where is this speed coming from?! It can't be the…can it?" Kakashi asked himself as he made it to the last line of thugs.

He launched his kunai into the necks of the two closest to Gato before running forward, spinning on his heal and unleashing a powerful kick to one's torso, sending him reeling back in pain.

Kakashi took some shuriken and threw them at the remaining thugs that had been guarding Gato before he walked up to the tyrant who was so fear stricken he didn't even make an attempt to get away. He placed his hands on either side of Gato's head and forced him to look into his eyes, the one regular and the one Sharignan.

"People like you make me sick."

That's all the tyrant known as Gato heard, before Kakashi Hatake snapped his neck.

It was a resounding crack and the actions of the thugs and even the Namikos slowed to a halt as the thugs realized that their boss had been killed. They were far from confident now…to say the least.

"Hey! These bastard ninjas just killed our meal ticket. Let's get them!" One of the thugs roared.

Kakashi and Namiko both readied themselves for an assault when suddenly, a bow and arrow shot from behind the Konoha ninja and landed a few feet from the group of thugs that remained.

"Inari!" Namiko shouted, seeing Tazuna's young grandson standing at the forefront of a mob of Wave citizens.

"You were right Namiko-nee. This is our country, and we'll defend it!"

Realizing that they were outnumbered and no match for the Konoah team, the thugs turned around and high-tailed it out of Wave country, the dead bodied of their comrades and Gato laying on the bridge floor.

"Good job Namiko…but I do believe we need to have a talk." Kakashi said with a slight frown on his face – even though Namiko couldn't see it through his mask. At this point the girl's once glowing and floating hair fell to its original gravitational position and her clones had dispersed.

The blonde kunoichi only gave Kakashi a half-hearted grin and a thumbs up before her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she started falling to the ground, exhausted. Luckily Kakashi was able to catch her and place her on his back, before starting the trek to where they had left Tazuna, Sakura and the presumably dead Sasuke.

xxxxx

"Am I dead?" Sasuke let out a groan as he slowly opened his eyes to see a pink blob on top of him sobbing her heart away. Sasuke inwardly let out another groan as he rolled his eyes. "This is getting old." He thought to himself.

"Sakura, that hurts." The pink haired kunoichi gasped as she raised her head. She covered her mouth with her hands in shock as she saw her dark-haired crush staring back at her. She frowned and put her hand in the ram sealed, yelling release. "It's not a Genjutsu Sakura, I'm very much alive."

"Sasuke-kun!" She yelled and enveloped the boy in a hug, to which he groaned from pain.

"Very much alive, and very much in pain." He said painfully.

She immediately let go and bowed her head giving her apologies.

"Where's Namiko…and Kakashi-sensei?"

"Oh, after they defeated Zabuza and that hunter-nin some of Gato's men showed up and – " Sakura was caught off by the sound of footsteps and they all turned to see Kakashi walking towards them, a very worn out Namiko on his back.

"So she was able to defeat him? On her own?" Sasuke asked himself as Kakashi gave him an eye smile.

"Welcome back to the land of the living Sasuke…it seems that all my precious little genin survived their first C rank turned B rank mission."

Sasuke groaned, of course they had asked for a more challenging mission but surely this was pushing it…right?

"Hey Kakashi …what's up with the brat's feet?" Tazuna asked, and all parties in attendance turned their attention to Namiko's feet which had red blisters and burns in different spots from her toes, all the way to her shin on both feet.

"That's a good question," Kakashi began. "When I brought it to her attention even she seemed quizzical as to what it was, we can only hope she'll have answer whenever she gets up." Was Kakashi full response.

"That's weird," Sasuke said. "She didn't have them when we were fighting the hunter-nin."

"So maybe it was the Kyuubi's chakra…" Kakashi internally mused to himself before offering his team plus Tazuna a shrug. "We'll have to wait and see, for now though, let's get back to Tazuna-san's house. I am beat."

xxxxx

Namiko opened her eyes to find herself standing in a dimly lit hallway with various pipes running along the walls and the roof. She looked towards the floor, she stood in ankle length water.

One of the things she noticed was that her feet no longer hurt, nor did they look burned. Various questions were racing her mind. First of all…where was she? How long had she been out? What kind of ramen should she get when she got back to Konoha? Where was her sensei and teammates?

The blonde kunoichi scratched the back of her head sheepishly before she started walking down the hallway, taking various and random turns as she did and soon, she started hearing breathing coming down one of the halls, so she decided to follow the breathing and when she finally reached the source, her eyes were wide.

Sitting in front of her, behind a giant cage that had the kanji symbol for 'seal' in the center was her Biju. The Nine Tailed Fox.

The fox lazily opened an eye and looked at the blonde, who simply stared back at the fox. The fox closed its eyes and was silent for a few seconds before speaking.

"So the Warden decided to pay a visit."

The bass of his voice startled Namiko and she took a sole step back, amusing the Kyuubi. "You can…you can talk?!" Namiko asked, shocked to her core.

"Of course I can talk human, I am the Kyuubi…the Nine Tailed Fox, I am a being of prowess that knows no bounds." The fox roared, both eyes now fixated on Namiko.

The blonde looked unimpressed before rolling her eyes. "Way to toot your own horn."

The Kyuubi growled darkly. "To what do I owe this unwanted and disrespectful visit?"

She shrugged. "I don't know why I'm here…or where here is for that matter, but I do have a few questions maybe you can answer…" Namiko said as she placed her hands in her jacket pockets and tilted her head back. "You know…with you being an oh so great being and all." She chuckled.

The Kyuubi stared back at her, unamused by her quip. "And what makes you think I'll answer any of your questions?" It asked before laying its head on its paw and closing its eyes.

The domain they occupied was quiet for a few before Namiko clicked her teeth.

"Look Kyuubi…wait do you have a name? It's kinda weird calling you Nine Tails…"

The Kyuubi turned towards Namiko once more. "Whether I have a name or not is not of your concern because one thing is certain, you're not worthy to even think it."

Namiko found herself once again rolling her eyes. "Anywayyyyyy, as I was going to say before. You obviously don't like me…and to be honest I could care less about you, but I think if we're going to share the same space for probably the rest of our lives…or rest of my life we should have some form of communication and understanding…don't ya think?"

The Kyuubi peaked at Namiko, maybe she wasn't a total nincompoop. "What questions do you have?"

Namiko smirked before fist pumping in the air. "First off…where am I?"

"This is your mindscape, it's basically the part of your being where I am stored."

"Okay…if this is my mind, why the hell does it look like the Konoha sewers?"

Kyuubi shrugged, before a devious smirk formed. "I've seen your memories and thoughts kit, it's probably a representation of your mind being in the gutter."

Namiko blushed a deep shade of red before looking away. "Moving on! Why were my feet burning earlier, ever since I was younger and first started getting hurt you've healed me quick…even though I didn't know it was you back then."

"It's an injury I've never dealt with before, so it took a while. You used an ability that poured loads of chakra into your feet and frankly the Biju chakra couldn't keep up for a period of time." The fox explained.

"Well then what ability was that…because that's never happened before…"

"From what I could tell in her, it became active when you thought the Uchiha was dead – "

The Nine Tails was cut off by Namiko. "What do you mean when I thought he was dead…is the teme alive?!" She asked excitedly and the fox nodded, albeit slightly angry.

"If you want answers, don't interrupt." Namiko nodded sheepishly and shamefully. "As I was saying, it activated when you though the Uchiha was dead, and it seems to be pushing an alarming amount of chakra to your joints and body parts – amounts the human body shouldn't be able to handle – allowing you to move at crazy speeds it seems."

"Huh…" As the fox had said Namiko tried focusing her chakra to limbs and was surprised to see her hair start to glow with a goldish aura and float. "What is this?"

"It's an ability I've never seen before in my two thousand plus years of roaming this planet. In the end it could be a number of things contributing towards it, your chakra and lifeforce mixed with my chakra is probably the most likely cause of it." The Kyuubi explain.

Namiko was slightly perplexed by this…what made her chakra and lifeforce special enough for this to happen? She pushed that thought to the back of her mind for now though, she had some exploring to do.

Namiko smirked and disappeared in an orange flash and suddenly reappeared about eight seconds. "Wow this is crazy!" She exclaimed. "I just explored this entire place in less than ten seconds…and I got LOST!" The Kyuubi analyzed her, she was rather happy.

"Congratulations kit. Looks like you have your very own kekkai genkai. Where it came from is still a mystery but I'm sure we can deduce that soon enough."

"Oh wow a kekkai genkai…so I have my own unique ability just like Sasuke-teme has his Sharingan and Hinata-chan has her Byakugan!"

The Kyuubi shook his head inwardly, this child was just as enthusiastic and brash as her mother. Huh…he figured the apple did indeed not fall far from the tree.

"Being the first to possess a kekkai genkai isn't something to take light heartedly Namiko," The fox's words caught Namiko attention and she turned to him. "This means there isn't going to be anyone to teach you how to use it, no one is going to be able to tell you anything whatsoever about it, not to mention that you're going to have to figure out how it came about without any help." It explained and Namiko looked down at her hands.

She could feel the chakra coursing through her limbs and she felt so much faster, so much more free. If she could describe how it felt, she would say it was like having the speed of a cheetah mixed with the fluidity of a fox (ironic, she knew), and the strength of a tiger.

Contrary to popular belief she wasn't a total idiot. She knew she would have to hone these skills for them to be of any use to her unless she simply planned on out running her opponents.

"Believe me Kyuubi, I'll make sure I make this ability mine. One way or another!" She grinned as she offered the Kyuubi a thumbs up, to which he ignored.

"Well you should know that it is very taxing on your chakra reserves, if my math is correct you can most likely use it for ten minutes max before it depletes all of your chakra, before it would need to call on mine. You need to better your chakra control, so you can better utilize the ability without harming yourself."

Namiko seemingly ignored most of what it said. "You know math?"

She looked at the fox quizzically and suddenly, to her surprise, the fox laughed a little. It was tiny but it was there.

"Not many humans have the ability to make me laugh," it admitted before once again growing serious. "As the first user of such a kekkai genkai, you get to name it brat. Come up with something good."

Namiko puffed and placed her hands on her chin, starting to think up a storm. An ability that made her move extremely fast, and made things seem as if they were in slow motion once activated.

"How about Namiko's super cool, super-fast totally kick ass jutsu?! It even rhymes!"

Namiko seemed to be bringing out things in the Kyuubi it didn't know were possible. First she made it laugh and now he was deadpanning at her.

"More and more similarities to her mother every sentence…"It thought remembering its last jinchuriki. "Maybe you should go for something a little shorter…and not as stupid…"Namiko pouted at the fox.

Then, it hit her like a freight train.

"I got it! A totally wicked name that's gonna make my kekkai genkai sound like the coolest there is!"

"And what name is that?" Asked the Kyubi, genuinely intrigued.

"Jinton! (Swift Release!)"

Ladies and gents…that is the first chapter of Konoha's Orange Comet done and dusted! I genuinely want to know what you guys think and if there's anything I can work on, please let me know!

More of Namiko's ability, how it came about etcetera is gonna be explained in the next few chapters, I just couldn't quite cram it all in one chapter. I'm gonna try and update at least once a week, maybe once every two weeks if my life gets hectic and I just wanna thank Author X009 on here for inspiring me to go for it and attempt my own fic. Their fics are really good and they were a huge inspiration on this first chapter so all credit to them.

Please, read and review and I'll see y'all next time.
