The warm sun was high in the sky over Harlem, a gentle breeze made flags on top of roofs flap and it almost seemed to be a normal day. Except for the fact that the streets were completely deserted, not a single sole of even a stray cat was out and about inside the city. But it was a different story on outer edges of the city at the company points where life was visible, there was an army on top of the walls that was lead by a Spider Lord who managed to arrive with their forces the day before, the army on the north wall was lead by Lord Miguel O'Hara of Jersey, the south was guarded by Lord Ben Reilly of Queens and the west was headed by Lady Jessica Drew of Brooklyn. Each commanded an army of 4,000 soldiers ready to defend against an attack, though the biggest group of all around 8,000 were gathered on the eastern side of the city that made up of the Spider armies of York and Harlem, all was similarly dressed in the same blue painted plate armor that sort of gleamed in the sun as they around the area below the wall or on top of.
The only exception was the group located on top of the wall in its middle, made up of twenty-eight people, twelve of them were dressed in dark purple and black armor that was the color of the Harlem guards lead by Phin Mason, better known as the Tinker for her creative skills to made magical devices for the Guard to morph into different weapons called 'Programable Blades'. The devices were experimental and was just getting into transition of being given to other cites Guards like the other group of twelve people dressed in black and white uniformed armors. Who, a course, was headed by Felicia Hardly, her's outfit almost didn't look like armor but a tight black leather bodysuit, except for the black cuirass that had white outlines and the completely white thigh high greaves and vambraces with attached gauntlets which had mounted black blades on the tips of her fingers like cat talons.
Who also had a unique weapon in the form of a bladed whip wrapped around her slender waist and that Felicia adjusted as she looked over at the four people standing in the front of the army that stood out from everyone else. The reason why was because one of them was dressed in black plated armor with thin red lines on top that made it look like a red web was splattered onto of the black and on top of it both the front and back was the red spiders that sprayed it.
Next to him Lady Gwen was a contrast looking like wearing a suit like Felicia, except it was white with no webs but instead it looked like a large black spider symbol was placed on top with it arms running around her sides and down her arms that adjusted the white hood cowl she wore over her head. Though they were an impressive sight, it was the other two royals that drew Felicia's attention like her King who armor looked almost like Miles, except it was black webs against the red plates placed on top of his blue under armor exposed on his sides and the larger white spiders that rested on top of his chest and back as his red and black Great Helm rested under his arm.
As for the Queen, like Felicia, there was many in the army that thought since she had been Queen of Wakanda that she would wear a outfit that represent the real kingdom she was 'loyal' to. Yet they were all surprise because Ororo wasn't wearing Wakanda armor, instead she was dressed in a custom made grey armor one piece suit with black webs and spider on the front. The only Wakanda thing Ororo wore was her natural black headdress crown, while also black long armor boots covered her from knee to feet, leaving her bare thigh exposed. Attached to Ororo's back was a cape that looked like a giant grey/black web, which tips was attached to the tops of the grey vambraces around her forearms and flagged in the breeze blowing across the enormous field.
Which was bare of anything for about 1,500 yards, beyond that was a different story because there stood a figure on the grass. Who, from the immense distance, was sort of hard to make out much detail. To some it might've been a bear standing on it hind legs or a gorilla, but they immediately knew it wasn't either because neither a bear or gorilla had dark green flesh. Thanks to her Mutant powers Ororo could actually see through the elements point of view and was able to properly describe the creature, who was humanoid standing over ten feet high with scaly green arms just like a gorilla if not for the rows of curving spikes coming out of the bare forearms and shoulders.
He wore a grey chest armor and black trousers that were stretched to the max across his beefy legs ending in clawed feet similar to a bear, but it was his head that was the most interesting and perhaps the most scary part. It was long and angled with a pair of horns on top of it's bald head that had very pointed ears on either side, while his filthy yellow teeth were like spear tips as he looked with just as yellowy reptilian eyes towards his next victims onto of the city wall.
Ororo could immediately see why this monster was called the 'Green Goblin', who wasn't alone because of the five other figures standing on either side of him. One of them to the Goblin left, who was almost as big as the Goblin in size, looked like a humanoid rhino with his thuggish face located under the giant horn on top of his head. The creature next to the 'Rhino' was much smaller, about human size yet looked more like a humanoid 'Lizard' dressed, unlike the Rhino, in leathery hardened armor which was the same for the person next to him.
This person was basically a human-like 'Vulture' that flapped his green feathery arm wings to keep in the air like the other winged creature located on the Goblin. Though the same size as the Vulture, this creature was clearly related to the Goblin for his appearance looked almost identical, except for the tan colored skin, blood red eyes, sporting bat-like wings coming out of its back and chuckling madly as a 'Hobgoblin'. Lastly next to the second Goblin was perhaps the only human of the group, but was still no less an animal as the rest dressed in the furs and skins of creatures that this leader of the 'Kraven' tribe had hunted in the jungle.
Who, like the others monsters of this Sinister Six, gazed at the city of Harlem with evil grins on their different faces as behind them, their main army of 10,000 strong, each person part of one of their leaders species except the Green Goblin, stood in either formation or moving to set a series of either siege weapons or towers. Unfortunately for them they wouldn't never be used as Ororo's eyes became pure white and the sky was suddenly filled with dark storm clouds that might've been a bad omen to the soldiers of the Spider-Army as rain began to fall.
But not a single drop fell onto their heads, instead the sudden downpour washed over the Horde, who might've been undeterred by the rain if not for what followed next. Like the fingers of a god, dozens of lightning bolts came down, where each landed was not randomly but precise as they hit every single siege weapons that blow up in flames to send both shrapnel and monsters away, while the also hit towers crumbled into heaps of metal and wood. As soon as the last catapult and tower was destroyed Ororo ceased the lightning storm, feeling slightly shaky in the legs she was glad for Peter's arm wrapping around her to keep her up.
"Good job, my love." Peter whispered "Thanks, only wished I couldn't got their leaders." Ororo said a little disappointed though it wasn't for lack of trying, she in fact tried to send a couple of bolts at the Goblin in particular but was stopped by a magical circle appearing over the group that was casted by a sorcerer. Learning from one of the villagers survivors, one of King Steven Strange sorcerer of the Kamar-Taj Kingdom was visiting her family when the Horde attacked. She was using her sling ring to get the townspeople to Harlem when she was captured and enslaved by a dark magic collar that gave the Goblin King control over the sorcerer. There might've been worry about her using portals to allow the Horde to slip behind Harlem defensive, but luckily as she was being captured the sorcerer managed to throw her sling ring into the closing portal.
Through magical mirrors Peter had spoken with King Strange who might've send help to rescue his sorcerer, but unfortunately all his sorcerers were occupied with a problem from the Dark Kingdom of Dormammu. Fortunately Strange was able to help by both transporting the other traveling Spider Lords and Lady to Harlem quicker and tell Peter that this sorcerer was fairly recent recruit who could only really do was make portals, now impossible, and protect shields just around her immediate area that wouldn't actually last long against the powers of an Omega level Mutant like Ororo.
Who could see, even though the still pouring rain she was sending upon his force, the angry sneer on the Goblin King's face as he looked at his destroyed distance weapons. Then he yelled out a command in a horrible voice able to be heard from the wall, "First Wave Attack!" And around 2,000 Rhinos advanced across the now muddy field. When they were about a thousand yards away Peter yelled "Fire the catapults, sends theses foul beats into the abyss!" And the intact Trebuchets arms began to swing to release giant boulders arching over the wall to sore through the air and either landed on top to turn them into pancakes or rolled toward charging Rhinos that mostly managed to stop the rocks in their place if not run over first.
Though this stopped some, the majority of horned monsters kept coming and soon was out of danger from the catapults but now faced a new one. Which was a swarm of arrows launched by the archers armed with unique composite bows that were made out of both wood and spider webs that strengthens the bow to give it both more range and power to penetrate even the thick hides of the charging Rhinos. Who if not taken down by the longbow men as they got closer to the wall had to deal with both crossbows and the newly made flintlock riflemen that bolts and lead balls took care of the remaining monsters that didn't retreat because of the fear Peter knew they had for what the Goblin King would do to them if they returned.
Three Rhinos managed to make it through and was charging straight for the gate with the clear intent of smashing through, but just before they could reach it Peter gave a command and from the muddy ground in front of the gate sprung a series of metal spikes. Until able to stop because of the slickness of the mud, the Rhinos ran straight onto the spikes to impale themselves onto it, after the last one had fall Peter could hear the Rhino leader scream in angry and looked ready to charge if not for the Goblin King stopping him with a clawed hand.
Who then looked up at Peter with evil eyes as he sent the next two waves that were a mixed of the Horde that included the flying creatures, except they didn't get far because while the catapults, arrows and guns stopped the ground troops. Ororo, her strength returned, managed to make it rain harder to soak the wings and grounding the Vultures and Hobgoblins, she also sent more lightning that were slightly smaller yet double then the first as they scattered large groups.
A course this time the wave, though half, managed to reach the walls, "Ladders!" Miles shouted as he and Peter put on their helmets, "Swords, Swords!" Peter commanded drawing his own as the Rhinos used their strength to lift up metal ladders, each having a passenger on the top who was the first on the wall to try and clear it. The soldiers fought valiantly with aid from their Spider-Knights to push the Horde off the wall, all awhile their Storm Queen prevented the Goblin King from sending reinforcements by flying into the air to send both lightning strikes and dagger-like icicles at any monster that tried to advance from the group.
For hours the fight went on until the last member of the second wave was defeated and night had arrived, the soldiers were boosted by their victory knowing that they had held out against a quite heavy force. Reports came from the other Lords, O'Hara and Reilly had fights against around 3,000 Horde forces each that tried to seek around to get in yet was pushed back and Drew was out of the battle. This raised moral yet Peter did warn them that this wasn't over yet and they couldn't relax less they want to be attacked, after his words he looked at Ororo who with him looked out at the Horde that wasn't having any reprieve from the storm that became self-sustained as lightning continued to strike with loud booms that shook the walls. By the next morning the storm had almost blow itself out until a well rested Ororo, who was still able to keep the rain off the defenders in her sleep, retook control.
Like yesterday the Goblin King attacked, waves after waves of his monsters who was both soaking wet, miserable yet piss as they charged through the mud to climb the wall or try to get through the gate with no real luck. Since the monsters didn't retreat, the Goblin King's army gradually grew smaller and he had to recall the forces attacking the other walls back to reinforce his. By the end of the third day of the battle the Horde had a total of 3,000, while Peter's army, though lost casualties, was still strong and seeing the opportunity came up with a plan to have O'Hara and Reilly circle around behind the Horde while he attacked from the front.
With Ororo beside him Peter lead his army out of the gates and charged the Horde, who attempt to use archers was useless as the Queen used to winds to deflect them before hitting a single soldier as they slammed into the Horde. Who was either trampled, speared or cut down in the Spider-Army path, at one point Peter was separated from Ororo and forced off his horse by an attacking Hobgoblin but managed to kill it before coming face to face with the Six. Using his Spider agility and Webs Peter fought and managed to defeat almost all of them, until only the Goblin King was left and Peter found it almost impossible to hurt the green beast because every cut he received healed almost immediately because of the still bound sorcerer. Peter almost started to despair until both Ororo and Felicia appeared by his side, his Captain at once pounced on the sorcerer to quickly seduce and free her from the Goblin hold.
Who was now vulnerable to Ororo's lightning strikes that destroyed his armor and seeing how damaging the lightning was doing to the Goblin skin gave Peter and Ororo both a mind meld idea as the champion of the Storm Goddess infused lightning onto the blade of her Spider-King. Who almost sliced off the Goblin's limbs as Peter's blade cut deep with the lightning stopping the wounds from healing as they bled green blood, then came the coup de grace as Peter finally stabbed his sword into the Goblin King's black heart and lightning surged through his body destroying it before coming out of his toes, fingers, ears, mouth and eyes that was charred beyond description as Peter pulled his blade out and the once terrifying Goblin King and murder of Peter Parker family fell dead to the ground.
Peter thought the remaining Horde would fight to the death, but as soon as they saw that their ruler dead most, except for the Hobgoblins, threw down their weapons and begged for mercy to just return to their homes and never bother York again. Though tempted Peter and Ororo knew that to let the Horde live might come back to bite them, but Peter did wanted to know and asked each tribe why they followed the Green Goblin. Learning that most followed because the Goblin won against their champions in duels to swear loyalty and other was because of their grievance against York for attacking their homes, but this was actually a lie when the Kraven tribe revealed that the Goblin managed them dress up as York soldiers to make the unwilling tribes join at the threat the Goblin was claiming to be.
After listening to their stories Peter consulted his council, who considered just killing them but then Ororo told of the time when Wakanda tried to wipe out a enemy that families back home came back with vengeance. She proposed a different plan and listening to his Queen Peter voiced his plan to the Horde, they would be allow to return to their homes but they must agree to both a peace treaty and, when called, send an ambassador to come to the Spider council meetings on the summer and winter solstices to talk and voice an problems they might have. Seeing the compassion that this human King was showing after everything they done, humbled the Horde who agreed and thanks to the sorcerer, with his sling ring, was sent home to hopefully live new peaceful lives.
