I awoke with a jolt surrounded by what must've been a settlement, or at least what was left of it.

"You're awake!" I was taken aback at the sight of a floating mesh of prisms emanating a feminine voice. "You have no idea how long i've been looking for you. I'm Lux, your Ghost. I've been Going from planet to planet, moon to moon just to come up with nothing and to think the person i've been looking for was here in the middle of nowhere." The drone shined a bright bluish light over my body. "You're Light's weak. I'm sure you'll grow to be a Guardian hundreds respect and admire!"

"Guardian?" My voice surprised me, sounding almost regal.

"Yup! You're a Guardian, tasked with defending the last safe city on Earth. And I'm your Ghost, faithful companions to Guardians. If you look around you'll see some of the things you'll need to defend the city against, though these ones have been dead for quite some time."

I hadn't even noticed the countless corpses scattered about the ground. Some bearing light blue cloths and having four arms and three fingers.

"What are they?"

"The Fallen, or "Eliksni" if you wanna be that guy. There are rumors that the Traveler brought about a Golden Age for their race before finding us."

I had a confused look, which would probably be normal for someone who was just brought back to life and is surrounded by dead aliens.

"Wait you don't know what the Traveler is. Know what? I'll explain everything once I get you to the city. Question is how do I do that?" The Ghost darted about the area mumbling to herself as I sat up catching a glance at my hands. They were a pale blue with what looked like some kind of energy was flowing underneath my skin. I turned to some broken glass and noticed my hair was lavender and I had glowing blue eyes.

I stood up and headed over to where the Ghost was who was still rambling to herself. I tapped her shell and she turned with a yelp.

"Don't do that!"

"Have you figured out how we leave here? I can't fly like you."

"Wait so your on board? Fine with the whole "defending what remains of humanity" thing?"

"I don't exactly remember what i did before so why not defend people."

"Great!" The Ghost bounced around me happily "Let's have a look around."

We continued further into the settlement where the multitude of bodies didn't seem to decrease at all. Eventually we reached the opposite side of the settlement where there were mostly shards of steel and various material scattered about. All of the humanoid bodies at this point were covered head to toe in armor but there was one here without a helmet. A woman who had the same pale blue skin as me.

"I'm sure you have some questions." the Ghost asked.

"You could say that."

"This place was an Awoken settlement, you're Awoken by the way, called "Amethyst". Unfortunately your life was most likely cut short when Fallen from a division called the "House of Wolves" attacked and killed everyone here in an event now called the "Raze of Amethyst"." The Ghost cut herself off as she spotted a mostly intact four pronged ship tipped over in the open. She darted over to it forcing me to try and catch up and scrambled to scan every inch of the ship.

"I can't believe it! I didn't think there'd be a intact ship here!" She scanned it once more and turned towards me "It should just barely make it." She mumbled to herself.

"Will it fly?"

"I'll make it work." The Ghost disappeared into the hull and shortly after the ship rumbled to life lifting itself up off of the ground.

I looked upon it in awe before suddenly appearing inside of it myself in almost an instant. I nearly lost my balance before catching myself against the seat in the cockpit.

"Let's get out of here!" The Ghost said with excitement as the ship accelerated, broke orbit, and was on its way to The Last City.
