(A/N) I'll try and not miss any kits this time, but no promises if it gets too long or I run out of time. Kurenai's turn. In this universe there are 2 braincells and Kurenai and Tenten have them.
The test had been relatively simple, find Kurenai, through any means necessary. Which mostly meant Torune and Kiba finding her scent, and Hinata keeping a lookout through her byakugan when they thought they were close.
They found her twice but both times she managed to get away from them by using scent genjutsu to confuse Kiba and Keruberosu, and a visual flash to disorient Hinata, escaping while Torune was left helping his teammates.
They tracked her down anyway, Keruberosu pinning her to the ground with no mercy. As she'd led them through a river, Keruberosu was wet, and a large wet dog was not fun to have pinning you down. Torune felt no pity.
Neji was skeptical about Kurenai at first, from what he'd found she was a new jounin, barely powerful enough to reach the level with something that wasn't really a clanless specialty. Genjutsu. It wasn't common outside the Uchiha clan before the entire clan except Itachi and Sasuke up and died.
Then she raised an eyebrow at him imitating Hinata and gave him a look that clearly means 'I caught you.'
Then Neji was just unsettled.
She didn't stop them though, continuing to let them swap places, and not calling them out when one didn't remember something she'd just taught the day earlier, only teaching them once again with a patience Neji wasn't sure where she got.
Shikamaru was of the opinion she had the patience of every single other jounin sensei, and possibly all their common sense and teaching braincells too.
Sure Gai was...interesting, and did his best to help his students do what they wanted to do, but he never really sat down to patiently teach them about the world of shinobi. Kakashi was a fine teacher when they could get him to arrive on time, but he focused on jutsu, not at all wavering when his students shifted around and asked for different things depending on the day. Shikamaru was still trying to work out if Kakashi had actually realized they were swapping out for each other or he just didn't care enough to notice. Asuma was fine too, mostly leaving them to work out whatever on their own, but he wasn't really a teacher, not in the way Kurenai was so determined to be.
It was interesting, and although with the whole Shisui thing, the twelve of them probably knew more about the dangers of shinobi life more then she thought they did, but it was interesting to see it from the point of view of someone who grew up as a civilian born in a world where that meant you had little chance of making it past chuunin.
From the point of view of a kunoichi taught to do anything to get her mission done.
"You're Naruto, right?" Kurenai asked quietly, out of the blue. "I've been keeping track of who's shifting through where, and you're less brash then Kiba and hesitate more."
Naruto froze. "Sorry?" He squeaked out.
"No need to apologize," she replied calmly. "I was merely wondering. How much do you know about the seal on your stomach?"
Naruto blinked. Was he going to get answers? The answers no one could or would answer?
"I can't directly tell you because of laws," Kurenai continued softly, "but I can point you to the right signs. Tell the Nara among you that you were born the night of the Kyuubi attack and that Biju have to be sealed into things."
Naruto blinked at her, and she merely smiled cryptically. "He'll figure it out," She promised. "Or perhaps tell the weapons girl who's impersonated Shino a couple of times. Tell her I barely worked out when she was impersonating him, she is very good at acting, and inform her to come to me if she needs any pointers."
Naruto just nodded, remembering the information to give to his siblings tomorrow.
Tenten couldn't say she was surprised really when Naruto passed on the messages, but she was pleased her Shino impression passed so well.
Kurenai was interesting, having a similar background as Tenten but choosing such a different path. She picked a field and stuck with it. And it had paid off.
Tenten decided Kurenai was a far more achievable goal then Tsunade, who she had no real chance of emulating how she'd always wanted to when she was younger.
Her siblings were going to be extraordinary, and Tenten intended to stand there right next to them.
Kiba liked their teacher! Keruberosu liked her too and said she gave the best ear scratches, so obviously she had to be a good person. Keruberosu had very discerning tastes in ear scratches. He was pretty sure she was the only one of their teachers to actualy realize that the kids swapped around a lot, learning from all four teachers all the time.
Surprisingly, Ino couldn't see any big trauma in Kurenai's thoughts. She read a lot like Ino's dad had, well adjusted and with healthy coping mechanisms for stuff. Ino felt like the other jounin sensei could learn a lot from her, maybe they'd pick up a good coping mechanism or two. No matter what anyone said, Asuma's chain smoking, Gai's...existance, and Kakashi's bad habits and late thing were not healthy coping mechanisms.
Except maybe Gai's, he was surprisingly untraumatized for a jounin. Or he just unhealthily suppressed it all. It was hard to tell. Jounin were always weird.
Whatever her deal, she was a good teacher, and Ino was hoping desperately that when it came time, Kurenai would help impart good coping mechanisms on her siblings. Ino did not need to deal with the trauma of everyone giving her migraines. After Shisui's death it was bad enough, she didn't need it worse.
Sasuke honestly didn't care one way or another about Kurenai. Sure she brought back some unpleasant memories with her ebony black hair and red eyes, but that wasn't her fault.
Plus she seemed to know what she was doing with genjutsu, so that was pretty neat.
She clearly spooked Naruto a bit, but all the girls liked her a lot, and Shikamaru seemed fascinated by her which was telling in and of itself, so Sasuke didn't particularly care.
(A/N) Not all the kits, but oh well. I have summer school tomorrow, wish me luck. There's a poll, so honestly, I'd check the recent update of one of my Ao3 stories under the name of Flux_Uchiha, the recently updated ones have links.
