I choose you, chapter 116.

The Road to Anistar City

Yamaguchi must have fallen asleep for the next thing he knew Marshuna was out of her ball sleeping beside him and Tsukki was holding him close. They were both still just as naked as when he had last been awake except now Tsukki had made sure to tuck them under the bed sheets properly. The room was still dark telling him it wasn't quite morning. He didn't hesitate to take advantage of the moment and snuggle up close to Tsukki once more. Even when he was asleep, snuggling close with Tsukki settled his heart and filled him with security.

The next morning the two woke up more refreshed than ever before. They had slowly woken up, exchanging sweet kisses and gentle touches. They cuddled for as long as they could and when the time came for them to finally get up they decided to take a shower together.

This wasn't the first time the two had bathed naked together. They had grown up in Alola and had been to an Onsen a few times but that had been platonic. Today their shower involved a lot more touching, kissing and teasing. Yamaguchi wondered if all his showers could be with Tsukki from now on.

Tsukki could be quite the flirt when no one was there to judge him. He was quite the shy guy but he had nothing to be shy about when it came to Yamaguchi. He had known Yamaguchi longer than anyone outside of his immediate family. He had nothing to hide or be ashamed of when it came to his boyfriend. Yamaguchi was just as shameless as Tsukki, if not more when it came to touch. He felt himself taking any chance he could to make skin to skin contact with his boyfriend. Last night's activities had made him a bolder person in that way.

With all their things packed and the room as tidied up as they could get it, the two headed out to meet the others. They had both made sure to wear shirts that hid their love marks. Not because they were ashamed but because Tsukki didn't need to invite more teasing from Kuroo. In fact, if Kuroo wasn't there he'd have made sure Kageyama had a good look at the mark he'd left on Yamaguchi and the matching mark Yamaguchi had left on him. The mere thought of showing them off to Kageyama set him to smiling smugly.

Yamaguchi was also feeling quite chipper. He still had a lot on his mind but the tension he'd been holding physically was all but gone. He was grateful for having Tsukki as a boyfriend for multiple reasons now. On top of all this Yamaguchi had the pleasure of knowing that Tsukki seemed just as happy and refreshed as he felt. He hoped they could have another intimate night together again soon. He'd first have to get Sylveon used to being in her ball. Tsukki had warned him that babying her would come back around and bite him in the butt. Now he was starting to feel that perhaps he was right.

The moment they met with the others Sylveon lept into Yamaguchi's arms. She nuzzled his cheek and licked his ears. "I hope she wasn't too much trouble," Yamaguchi said as he embraced her.

"She was just fine," Yachi reassured.

"She whined at the door to be let out when we got ready for bed," Kageyama complained.

"Bulbasaur had to use sleep powder on her before she calmed down," Hinata loudly added.

"Guys!" Yachi hissed.

"Oh, did you give them trouble?" Yamaguchi asked in a baby voice. "You're still just a big baby, aren't you?"

Sylveon replied with a proud trill.

Tsukishima released a loud 'tch', rolling his eyes. He and Yamaguchi could enjoy more nights like last night if he just put Sylveon in her ball.

"You two seem more energetic than usual," Kuroo teased as he bumped shoulders with Tsukki. "I hope you didn't go too far with our sweet Yamaguchi."

"Shut up!" Tsukishima mumbled. "If everyone is here we should just head out," he added, his cheeks red.

"Awww, you're a shy boy," Kuroo said with a giggle.

Tsukishima looked ready to hit him. He knew this was coming though. Kuroo was always ready for a good tease.

Kuroo led the way out of Lumiose City. Yamaguchi couldn't believe they were already leaving. They hadn't even been here for a full day. It had been nice to reminisce the beginning of their journey and to have an intimate night with Tsukki but Anistar City hopefully held answers to his sleeping problem.

As they made their way down the path to Anistar City, Yamaguchi found himself making conversation with Kageyama. They hadn't been able to talk nearly as much as Kageyama wanted to and with Tsukki preoccupied with Kuroo he took the advantage now.

"How have you been sleeping?" Kageyama asked, walking as close as he could to Yamaguchi without impeding their walking.

The question was sort of sudden for Yamaguchi and caught him a little off guard. Despite this it didn't surprise him that Kageyama would just come out of the blue and ask. He wasn't known for being subtle.

"Since Kenma has lent me his Musharna all my dreams have been dreamless I guess," Yamaguchi shrugged.

"I'm happy to hear that it's been helping," Kageyama nodded, looking quite relieved.

"I'm hoping the psychic gym trainer in Anistar will be able to help me figure out if a psychic Pokemon really is at fault for my dreams and if so maybe they can figure out which pokemon it is," Yamaguchi carried on. For some reason he didn't find it so hard to talk with Kageyama. Perhaps it was due to Kageyama taking him seriously from the get go.

"Is that why you've been in such a rush to get to Anistar City?" Kageyama asked.

Yamaguchi nodded in reply. "The last dream was far too real," he sighed. Along with almost being kidnaped in that tunnel he really hoped Anistar held some sort of answer. He was still reluctant to say it out loud but he wouldn't be surprised if the psychic pokemon was the same pokemon Team Serpent was after. Maybe the gym leader could tell him who exactly it was.

"No matter what happens just know that I'm going to be here for you," Kageyama said, looking quite serious.

Yamaguchi couldn't help but glance Kageyama's way. He was surprised to see how concerned Kageyama was. It always shocked Yamaguchi at how sweet Kageyama could be once he warmed up to you. It wasn't much different from how Tsukki warmed up to people. Hearing Kageyama say this filled Yamaguchi's heart with warmth. It was nice knowing he could rely on his friend for support. Kageyama really did care for him quite a bit.

"Thanks, Kageyama. I really do appreciate you being here for me," Yamaguchi smiled softly as he spoke.

Kageyama had to look away, else his heart would burst from his chest. "D-Don't mention it."

"Do you think you're ready for your battle against the Anistar Gym Leader?" Yamaguchi asked, not really finding Kageyama's behaviour to be too weird.

"I've yet to find any of these gym battles challenging," Kageyama bluntly replied.

"I hope you can show me an amazing gym battle in Anistar then," Yamaguchi teased, bumping shoulders with Kageyama.

"I won't let you down," Kageyama replied, his cheeks pink. It was hard to tell if he was taking Yamaguchi seriously or if he realized Yamaguchi was just teasing him.

Yamaguchi stifled a giggle. He was used to Kageyama but still found his awkward behaviour to be rather endearing.

"We are going to stop for lunch now!" Tsukishima cut in, standing between his boyfriend and Kageyama.

"Oh, I'll go help set up lunch then," Yamaguchi replied, smiling at his boyfriend. With that he jogged to where Yachi and Hinata had started to set up a portable table.

Tsukishima watched Yamaguchi skip off before turning to Kageyama. "It sure is hot today," Tsukishima sighed, pulling his collar down just far enough for Kageyama to see his hickey. He glanced to find Kageyama fuming. Tsukishima couldn't stop himself from smirking. Happy to see his plan had worked he swaggered to where the others were setting up lunch.

Yamaguchi, Hinata and Yachi whipped up a quick and simple sausage curry.

"Wow, Hinata, your cooking really has improved a lot," Yamaguchi said as they threw in the last bits of berries to the curry.

"Thanks," Hinata smiled proudly. "I've been helping Yachi out with the cooking. She is a great teacher."

"You're just a good learner, Hinata," Yachi replied with a shake of her head.

"Getting free cooking lessons from Yachi sounds like fun. Why haven't you given me any tips?" Yamaguchi teased his rival.

"Like you need my help cooking," Yachi pouted.

The three talked and laughed as they took turns mixing the pot of curry. Before long they were serving it up to their travel companions and Pokemon. Yamaguchi took a seat beside Tsukki, sitting close enough that their legs touched. In the past this would have set Yamaguchi's heart a flutter but now being so close to Tsukki was just natural to him.

"Will we make it to Anistar City today?" Yamaguchi asked as everyone dug into their meal.

"Most likely not," Kuroo replied. "Probably by tomorrow if we walk as far as we can today."

Yamaguchi deflated a bit in his seat. He was hoping to get to Anistar Gym as soon as possible.

"That means we can have another sleepover around the campfire!" Hinata sang, springing from his seat and almost dropping his curry on Kageyama's head.

"Hey, watch it!" Kageyama snapped, giving Hinata a shove.

"I'd rather walk all night than listen to your obnoxious ghost stories," Tsukishima grumbled.

"Maybe we can stop with enough time to pitch our tents?" Yamaguchi gently suggested.

"What? You too, Yama?" Hinata said, slumping back into his seat.

"It's just getting kind of cold at night," Yamaguchi tried to explain. "And we can still have campfire talk but keep a bit warmer in our tents."

Hinata gave a long humm as he considered this.

"Yamaguchi just wants to cuddle close with Tsukki but doesn't want us seeing," Kuroo teased.

Hinata dry heaved at the mere idea of cuddling Tsukishima. Yamaguchi went pink in the face, juggling his spoon from embarrassment. Kuroo was half true to think that. Both Yamaguchi and Tsukki were far too shy to blatantly cuddle in front of the others but in their privat tent they would snuggle close without a worry.

"Shut up!" Tsukishima warned, shooting Kuroo a death glare.

Kuroo replied with a loud laugh.

Lunch carried on as lively as ever. They had decided to walk for a few more hours but stopped with enough time to set up a proper camp. Hinata was the only one who was truly disappointed by this but came around after Yachi and Yamaguchi promised to sit around the campfire and talk for as long as they could.

The walk was pleasant and lively. Yamaguchi and Yachi chatted about sewing techniques and the latest fashions. Kenma somehow managed to keep Hinata relatively quiet as they had their own conversation. Kuroo had taken to talking with Kageyama for once and Tsukishima quietly walked beside his boyfriend. Yamaguchi was starting to feel like things could be going back to normal.

That night Yamaguchi kept to his promise as best he could. After dinner he sat at the campfire listening to everything Hinata wanted to talk about. He, Yachi and Hinata told stories from back home before coming to Kalos. Hinata told Yamaguchi about how he had first met Kageyama a few years ago in Kanto. Yamaguchi told the two about working with his family on the bakery house boat. Yachi ranted about her life before leaving to become a pokemon trainer and the pressure she felt to get her mothers approval. It was quite late into the night when the three had decided to call it a night. Even Kuroo had hit the hay by the time they were finished.

Yamaguchi was as quiet as he could be as he unzipped the door to his and Tsukki's tent. Sylveon had opted to go to bed earlier with Tsukki. As Yamaguchi zipped the door to their tent closed he found Sylveon curled up fast asleep in Tsukki's arms. The two looked so happy and peaceful it almost caused Yamaguchi to go into cuteness overload. He made sure to not disturb them as he wormed his way into bed with them. With Musharna out of her ball floating about the three, Yamaguchi took his boyfriend and pokemon into his arms and fell fast asleep.

The next morning Yamaguchi awoke to the sound of arguing outside his tent. He didn't need to be told who it was having a scuffle by the campfire. It seemed to be a part of Hinata and Kageyama's morning routine to annoy each other. While it wasn't his ideal wake up call he was pleased to find Tsukki still laying beside him. His boyfriend was on his ipad reading something, obviously finding whatever reason he could to avoid leaving the tent.

"Morning, Tsukki,"Yamaguchi greeted before releasing a large yawn. He didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around Tsukki's chest and give him a good nuzzle.

"Morning," Tsukishima replied. He wrapped one arm around Yamaguchi pulling him close.

The two cuddled for a long peaceful moment. Sylveon had somehow rolled to the foot of their bed in the night and stayed sound asleep. The two trainers exchanged sweet kisses and both felt a thirst for something more. A loud shout from Hinata reminded them that they were definitely within ear shot.

"Maybe I should go and see if Yachi needs any help with breakfast," Yamaguchi sighed, giving Tsukki a quick kiss on the cheek.

Tsukishima frowned as he reluctantly let Yamaguchi go. "Let me know when breakfast is ready," Tsukishima replied. "I'm not ready to go out there and join those fools."

Yamaguchi stifled a laugh, agreeing with his boyfriend's request.

"Good morning, Yamaguchi," Kuroo greeted upon seeing Yamaguchi trip out of his tent. "Where's your boyfriend?"

"H-He is still sleeping," Yamaguchi lied.

Kuroo obviously didn't buy it. It was a well known fact that Tsukki always woke up before Yamaguchi. "Being antisocial again," Kuroo shrugged.

Yamaguchi awkwardly laughed as he passed Kuroo to where Yachi sat, starting the campfire with Hinata. "What's for breakfast?" Yamaguchi asked as he squatted beside the two.

"Oh, good, you're awake," Hinata sang. "Yachi and I were thinking of making omelettes."

"We picked up a few Chansey Eggs yesterday," Yachi said.

"I haven't had an omelet in ages," Yamaguchi said with a bright smile. "My grandmother used to make them all the time."

"Wonderful!" Yachi said, her tone a bit scheming. "I was hoping you'd be able to give me some omelette tips."

"I want to learn how to make an omelette too!" Hinata piped in.

Yamaguchi replied with a small chuckle. Had they been scheming this since yesterday? "Next time we are making something let make it somethingYachi is good at so I can get a tip or two, too,," he joked.

"Yachi is really good at making crepes," Hinata proudly replied.

"Then next time we are having crepes," Yamaguchi demanded.

"I-I'm not that good," Yachi said, her cheeks dusted pink.

"They are always so thin and just the best," Hinata carried on in a bragging manner. "When Kageyama and I do well in a gym match Yachi makes us crepes."

"Well, if they are that good then I definitely want to try them," Yamaguchi nodded. "I want Yachi's celebration crepes."

"Stop it, you two, this is getting embarrassing," Yachi pouted, her cheeks now red.

The three shared a good chuckle before starting on breakfast. Before long everyone's stomachs were full and they were back on the road. Yamaguchi and Tsukishima trailed behind everyone else. Yamaguchi was starting to feel a bit anxious now that they were only an hour or so out of Anistar City. He really wanted to head right to the gym and see the gym leader but he felt really uncomfortable voicing it to the others.

With Tsukki he didn't need to voice it though. Tsukki knew just what Yamaguchi was feeling and if he was being honest he felt the same way. He wanted to get to the bottom of his boyfriend's nightmares.

"So you really think this is going to work, Tsukki?" Yamaguchi asked, not specifying what he ment. The moment he asked he felt a wave of nervous energy rush through him. Sylveon took his hand in her ribbon.

"It's all we have to go off of," Tsukisima replied calmly.

"What if it's a dead end?" Yamaguchi asked. This was what he was most worried to hear. "What if they aren't able to do anything?"

"If that's the case then we will just look elsewhere for answers," Tsukishima replied, just as calm.

Yamaguchi felt a wave of discomfort. If this was a dead end they'd just be back where they had started except now Yamaguchi knew Team Serpent was after him. He hadn't told anyone yet about the tunnel or Lillie. The right time never arose but he was coming around to tell Tsukki the moment he could. He wanted to tell Tsukki the full truth first before telling anyone else. He was worried what Tsukki's reaction would be. He was honestly quite shocked that Tsukki was being this patient with him.

"When we get to the town we can head straight to the gym," Tsukshima carried on, picking up on Yamaguchi's worry. "I already told Kuroo that we wanted to go alone."

"Thanks, Tsukki," Yamaguchi replied, taking Tsukki by the hand. "It's almost like you knew what I was thinking. You better not be the psychic entity giving me these dreams," he joked despite his worry.

"Shut up, Yamaguchi," Tsukishima deadpanned, giving his boyfriend's hand a gentle squeeze.

"Sorry, Tsukki."

A little over an hour passed when the group made it to Anistar City. The path they followed bordered a huge lake and on the far end they could see what was Anistar City. The city was modestly sized and from where they walked Yamaguchi made out a huge pink Crystal jetting out from the city's shoreline.

"What is that!?" Yamaguchi asked as he studied the crystal. Even from where they stood so far away he could tell it was huge.

"It's a crystal," Hinata bluntly replied.

"I can see that but a crystal growing out of a lake!" Yamaguchi replied, rolling his eyes.

"It was created a long time ago from a meteor crashing into that spot," Kuroo explained, giving Hinata's head an affectionate ruffle.

"Oh, no. A meteor?" Yamaguchi groaned. Meteors never boded well for them.

"It smashed into the earth a long time ago and apartely the shadow of the crystal is towering at just the right angle that the town is able to use it as a sundial," Kuroo carried on.

"So it's super old?" Hinata gasped with wide eyes.

"It's older than the city itself," Kuroo nodded. "The founders of the city found it unique and decided to build around it."

"I guess that is pretty cool," Yamaguchi hummed. "A naturally occurring crystal that tells the right time. What a coincidence."

"We can check it out after visiting the gym," Kuroo said as he led them forward. "It's next to the Crystal Tower after all."

"I bet it looks brilliant in the sunset," Yachi hummed, her eyes shining.

Yamaguchi blushed at the idea of going alone with Tsukki to see the sun setting against the crystal. It was bound to be romantic. But before he could even think of romancing Tsukki he had to keep his mind on why they had rushed here in the first place. The second they arrived at the city's limits he was heading right to the gym.

Author notes:

Finally our heroes have made it to the outskirts of Anistar City? What could be awaiting them from within the city? Will the gym leader be able to help them? Will Yamaguchi find his answers? Will Tsukishima be able to get his next gym badge? Stay tuned to find out that and more.

I have decided to post this chapter a bit early. It's by way of celebrating my birthday as well as being a bit late but posting something special for Tsukkiyama week. It's summer where I live and it's super hot and humid every day where I live. Going out for a walk is like entering a sauna but it's fine weather for going to the beach or pool for a swim. I hope you are all taking care wherever you are in the world.

As always, thank you to everyone who has hung around this long to read up until now. Thank you to those who have bookmarked this story, left kudos and comments. Please leave a comment or review down below if you have time!

See you all next chapter!
