On the cliff of a canyon in some part of the world, there was no sign of civilization. The only city was a good few kilometers away from that sandy place, with no one to visit it other than excursionist and hikers looking for a challenge. No one ever came around that place otherwise, there were no other signs of life other than some scorpions and snakes crawling around the floor to live their lives.
But in one of those cliff there was one exception. There was a sign of life. An airship with the form of a blimp, a reinforced one so no tragedies would occur. That airship at the moment, was the home of two people.
Sleeping soundly on one of the futons on the floor, a boy with silver hair tossed and turned as his body was reclaiming him to wake up. He put the covers of the futon over his head, wanting anything but that -- anything but wake up.
Sadly for him, he felt a weight pressing down on one of the sides of his place of rest and he could only inwardly sigh. There was only one person in this ship with him at the moment, and it was a person that wheter he likes it or not was going to wake him up, and no matter how hard he would try he wasn't going to be able to tell them no.
When his covers were carefully pulled away, he cracked his blue eyes open and stared at the face of a smiling girl with black hair staring at him. "Good morning, Big Brother!" She greeted.
The boy couldn't help but smile, the smiling face of his beloved little sister being always a welcoming sight. "Good morning, Alluka."
The girl smiled and closed her eyes. "Nanika also wants to say good morning!" She said. A dark aura surrounded the girl and her face started to change, her eyes and mouth became black, looking almost like a creepy mask, and her skin became paler. But even with this change, the boy wasn't fazed or scared. The changed girl smiled. "Morning, Killua!"
Killua could just smile and sit up. He put his hand on the girl's head and started petting her. "Good morning, Nanika." Nanika blushed and giggled as her older brother gave her her usal dose of pating.
Killua sat up ands stretched. "I'm going to make breakfast, them we continue to see what places we can explore now, 'kay?"
Nanika nodded. "'Kay," she closed her eyes and exhaled, her features going back to normal. Alluka opened her eyes and smiled. "I heard everything!" She said with an enthusiastic smile.
Killua continued to smile and went to the large kitchen of the airship.
Killua Zoldyck, former assassin, currently a Hunter, and also currently Alluka and Nanika Zoldyck's guardian, he was by no means a normal fourteen year old kid. If anything Killua has seen more than most adults in eighty years of life.
Currently he lives on an stolen airship with his sister to hide away from their family, the Zoldycks, all of them professional assassins. The reason? Alluka, or more accurately Nanika.
Alluka has always had a second personality called Nanika, a personality that has a power beyond any imagination. If Nanika asks for three favors and you complete them for her then she will grant you any wish. However depending on the magnitude of the wish, her next three request would adapt to that difficulty.
For example, if you ask for her to give you a hug then her next three favors will be something simple like a kiss on the cheek or getting a back ride. But if you ask for something like the death of someone, the her favors would become harder and harsher, for example she could ask you for your liver or your brain. And if you don't fulfill her request, then you and everyone you know will die.
Well, with all of that explanation, it has to be said that Killua is the only exception to those rules. Because Nanika's love to her brother, she would grant Killua anything he wishes without any condition. And that is the reason why they're on the run from their family; if they get Killua, their older brother Illumi could use his Nen Ability to control the boy and make him manipulate Alluka and Nanika to get any wish he or the other Zoldycks wanted.
Killua wasn't about to let that happen, so when the chance appeared, Killua took his sister and an airship and have been movie around the world to avoid getting spotted by theit so-called family.
And honestly, they've managed to get a peaceful life this past months. Specially with how crazy things have been previously for Killua.
He had to face, along with his best friend Gon, a threat known as the Chimera Ants. A species that, with their reproductive ability known as phagogenesis, started chasing after humans in the country of NGL. Him, Gon, and a professional Hunter named Kite were sent to deal with them.
Many things happened, many bad things. Kite lost an arm and was killed afterwards by a high level ChimeraAnt, a royal guard named Nerferpitou or simply Pitou. His friend Gon afterwards was death set in getting revenge, which caused him to use his Nen in a dangerous manner. He made a condition, a set of rules to use a certain Nen Ability, to kill Pitou that almost costed him his life. It's because of that that Killua went to look for Alluka and Nanika, knowing her powers she could heal Gon. And after she did so, Killua decided to take her away from her family, whom up until that point kept her locked away in a bunker beneath their home.
And that brings them to today. After hijacking an airship, Killua decided to explore the world with his sister to spend time with her and keep her away from the other members of their family. It's been five months since all of that happened.
And now, Killua is getting ready to make breakfast while her sister does her part in helping her big brother, cleaning the ship and their belongings.
She and her brother slept mostly in the control room, but she also took the time with her brother to clean all of the other important places -- Like the bathroom or the kitchen.
With a broom and a small rag, Alluka started to clean the room, she could ask Nanika with a wish but she didn't wanted to bother her other part with that.
Cleaning the floor wasn't a problem, she only had to open a window and swept all of the dust out of the room and then use the wet rag to leave it clean, going to all fours with her hands on the rag and running it along the floor.
When her job was done in their room, she moved on onto another one; the room where Killua and her kept all of their clothes. They were mostly kept in boxes, divided by the type of clothing -- Shirts in one, pants in the other, etcetera-- all of them pilled on a table in the room.
She got the broom and the rag, and after wetting and cleaning the latter, she got hands to work. Repeating the process of cleaning first with the broom to swept all of the dust, and then passing the rag.
However, when she was passing the wet object by the table, she was going to straight her body which caused her to bump her head on the table. "Ouch!" She exclaimed in pain.
And from the top of the table, some of the boxes fell and Alluka winced with guilt. She climbed out from under the table and saw that the box that fell was the one holding her brother's shirts, some of them falling out of the box. "Better pick it, before Big Brother finish doing breakfast."
She started picking up the box and the shirts that fell. She started putting them all in place, but when he grabbed a particular hoodie something fell from its pockets. Alluka blinked and put the hoodie in place and picked what has fallen.
Allika gasped in surprise, it was a picture of her brother, but he wasn't alone. In the picture, her brother, eight children, and some strange creatures all had surprised expressions while staring at a girl holding some furry ball with yellow eyes.
Alluka blinked and tilted her head. "That's weird, Big Brother never mentioned something like this, and his friend Gon isn't with him," her brother has always tell her stories of his adventures with Gon. Like the Hunter Exams and Greed Island. But he never mentioned a group of kids this big, or creatures so bizarre as this.
As if summoned by her thoughts, Killua entered the room. "Ah, there you are, Alluka. Breakfast is ready."
"Um? O-oh! Okay!" She got up and put the box in place, still holding the photo.
Killua noticed the paper on his sister's hand and arched an eyebrow. "What do you have there?" He asked.
Alluka walked to him and showed the photo, and explained with a sheepish smile. "I was cleaning when I accidentally let the box with your shirts fell, and when I picked them up this fell out of one of your hoodies," She showed the photo.
Killua's eyes widened and softened as he gazed at the photo. Nostalgia invading his body as he gently took it out of his sister's hands. "Heh, haven't see this one in a while."
He looked at the photo as he remembered the most crazy and bizarre adventure of his life. When he was dragged to a whole other world with eight children from another one, a world filled with creatures named Digimon. Their world was in constant danger because of many evil Digimon that wanted to rule over it. The eight children -- Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, TK, and Kari -- Were the Digidestined, a group of children with Digimon partners and a device called Digivice that allowed a transformation for the natives of that world called Digivolution. Killua was called there as the 'Anomaly' a person from another world capable of using Nen. Together, they beat all the evil Digimon, but had to be sent home afterwards. This all happened before he and Gon had their final encounter with the ants and before taking Alluka with him to save her from their family.
He never talked of this story with Alluka, mainly because it was so crazy that he doubted his sister will believe him, even with the photo. But another reason was the great feeling of sadness he felt as he thought of the friends he left behind. Because the gate between worlds was closed, neither he nor his friends from another world would be able to see each other again. Unlike with Gon, who he could always visit on Whale Island, seeing the Digidestined again was simply impossible.
"... Big brother? Are you okay?" Alluka asked, looking worriedly at his brother.
Killua sighed and stuffed the picture on his pocket. "Yeah, just feeling nostalgia." He gave her a reassuring smile and nodded to the their room. "Let's go, before the food gets cold."
Alluka nodded and followed her brother to the main control room. Still thinking about the look on her brother's mind.
In the corner of her mind, Nanika noticed the whole exchange too. And make quite an obvious statement. "Killua... Sad." The second personality/entity in sharing body with Alluka whimpered.
"Run!" A Gazimon yelled as he ran. "It's the Digimon Emperor!"
From the top of a mountain, a kid in a blue jumpsuit, a blue cape with yellow shoulder pads, and a pair of yellow goggles watched with a sadistic smile as the Digimon on the sector known as File Island ran away with fear.
He took out a whip attached to his belt and cracked it against the floor. "Go!"
At his command, a dark tower appeared behind him and let loose a series of rings of a pitch dark color that chased after the Digimon.
The Digimon running away were slowly captured by those rings. They attached themselves to their necks or any part of their bodies like their torsos and their wills were completly snuffed out. They stood up and they eyes glowed a blood red color, ready to obey their new master. The trapped Digimon involved groups Gazimon, Gotsumon, and a lone Pegasusmon.
Gatomon, partner to one of the Digidestined, was running as well to prevent herself from getting caught, the withered whistle on her neck clinging as she ran. The Emperor has been striking the Digital World for almost two months now, mostly focusing on the server continent so it was a surprise he attacked File Island today.
She cursed under her breath and ran across the forest. "Gotta make it to the shore, Whamon should be there to evacuate."
When the Emperor attacked, Ikkakumon called the help of Whamon to take Digimon away from his clutches. Gatomon was to reunite with Angemon in the shore of the forest to help the evacuation.
She heard a whirling sound and turned to see one of the rings coming to her. She gasped, but before the object could attack the holy ring on her tail pushed it away.
She sighed in relief at not talking prey to those damm things, but it was short lived as she heard a flapping sound above her and saw Unimon glaring at her, his visor glowing red. It opened his mouth and launched a blast at her.
She narrowed her eyes and they glowed. "Cat's Eyes Beam!" A pink blast was launched from her eyes and impacted with the blast creating an explosion. When it settled, Gatomon was nowhere to be found.
Unimon growled and flapped away, ready to reunite with his new master.
The boy, the Emperor, smirked with satisfaction as this part of the forest in this small island was now under his command. Soon this sector of the world will be under his ruling and he would play as much as he wants with his inhabitants.
He heard a flapping sound from behind and turned to see a Airdramon bowing his head. "My emperor. They have been found."
The Emperor smirked. "The so called protectors of the island. The Dark Tower in that zone should be active... Are those two dealing with them?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes. They are." Airdramon nodded.
The boy chuckled. "I am not missing this," he walked to the dragon and mounted his back. "Take me to them."
"Yes, my lord!" Airdramon extended his wings and flew off to another part of the island, to see the spectacle of the Emperor's personal guard.
Leomon growled as he launched another attack. "Beast King Fist!" A lion shaped blast was launched at his opponent. Said opponent crossed his arms and blocked the attack, without even having a scratch.
Leomon gnashed his teeth as he glanced at his opponet and the dark tower behind him. The tower was nothing more than a giant obelisk color black, but it was doing something to him that didn't let him become SaberLeomon, his enemy, on the other hand, was something else entirely. It was big -- scratch that; it was a giant, with humanoid form, insectoid features like green skin and bug-like eyes. A pair of black gauntlets with stingers were part of his arms. And his face lacked any features, almost like if it was a mask.
"Leomon, surrender peacefully in the name of... The Digimon Emperor," The giant insect asked, almost sounding reluctant.
"Surrender to that tyrant?" Leomon spat. "Never, I faced threats worse than a kid like him." The proud warrior said as he brandished his blade and charged.
His opponent took a stand and charged as well. Leomon jumped and went to a downward vertical cut, but the insect raised his left gauntlet and blocked the attack. Leomon dropped to the ground and leaped back, charging again his signature attack. "Beast King Fist!"
The insect raised his two gauntlets and blocked the attack again. Now, he was going to attack, he had to in the name of... His master. The two stingers on his gauntlets shined a pink color and he dashed forward to the lion. "Stinger Attack!"
Leomon tried to leap out of the way but the impact of the attack on the ground caused a giant cloud of dust that blinded the warrior. The insect took his chance to back slap him, sending him crashing against a tree.
He tried to get up to continue fighting, but everything was in vain as a dark ring attached itself to his neck. Leomon growled and roared in pain as he grasped the collar to try and rip it out, but soon the power of the evil object was too much for him.
He stood up, eyes glowing a blood red and his fangs bared like a wild animal.
"Very good, Stigmon," The Emperor said, just arriving to the scene in Airdramon's back. "We have one."
Stigmon turned to look at the boy and hesitantly he gave a bow. "A pleasure... Master."
With a satisfied smirk the Emperor turned to another part of the forest, smoke was rising and he could hear explosions in the distance, trails of a fight. "Now then, let's see how my other right hand is doing," he leapted off the dragon and in Stigmon's waiting hand. He turned to the dragon to gave him new orders. "Take Leomon to the base. I'll be back soon."
Airdramon nodded and wrapped his tail around Leomon and flew away in a different direction. Stigmon secured the Emperor on his hand and flew to where another battle was taking place.
Six Digimon were sent flying as another attack struck them. They were the partners of the Digidestined and were losing against one opponent, badly.
True, they were all in Champion Level, but still it was six on one.
Greymon growled as he saw the figure coming out of the dust. Someone many Digimon had called 'The Reaper," a Digimon who's identify was still unknown to a big part of the population.
He wore grey cloak that covered most of his body, the only things visible from the clothing were his arms. They were covered in white fur with black stripes, and blue gauntlets guarding them. From the hood covering his face, the only recognizable feature were two dark blue eyes, glowering at anything around him with hate.
He had a sword as his weapon of choice: It is a steel-grey broad-bladed sword with a tint of blue on it. The two edges don't meet at a tip. Instead, it is slanted at the top and only the opposite edge forms the tip. The flat ends of the blade are engraved. There is a large groove on the opposite edge.
The hilt is very thin and has a V-shaped texturing on it. The pommel and the guard both have a blue gem embedded in them. The predominant color of hilt and guard is black.
He let out a chuckle in a deep mocking voice. "So these are the heroes of the Digital World? The partners of the Digidestined and friends with the Anomaly? What a joke!"
Garurumon stepped forward, baring his fangs. "I'll show you! Howling Buster!" The wolf opened his mouth and let out a stream of blue fire.
Their opponent charged directly at the flames and cut through it with his sword, grabbing it with his two hands. Garurumon stopped his attack and The Reaper smirked, once he was close enough he shifted his sword to be held by just one hand and gave the wolf and uppercut that lifted him off his paw and then he kicked him in the gut.
"Garurumon!" Greymon called for his friend. He turned and glared at their cloaked enemy. "Take this! Nova Flame!"
A large fireball was launched but the enemy wasn't faced. He channeled electricity into his blade and with an upward diagonal cut, he cleaved the sphere in half, dissipating the fire around him. He charged at the dinosaur with his sword to one side and jumped up. Raising his sword above his head, he was ready to strike him down.
"Needle Spray!"
"Electroshock!"
"Meteor Wings!"
"Harpoon Vulcan!"
Four attacks were launched at The Reaper while he was still mid-air, with no way to dodge them. He was launched above Greymon's head, missing his mark. He landed on the floor and the impact lifted a small cloud of smoke.
Birdramon panted as she flew over them. "Did we get him?" She asked.
The cloud disappeared and their enemy was standing. He smugly dusted his cloak off and narrowed his eyes. "Now that was rude."
"What does it take to put him down?! And where are those two?!" Ikkakumon asked with a groan.
"They're still evacuating as many Digimon as they can... I hope," Togemon said, hoping Angemon and Gatomon hadn't being captured.
"As much fun as this is," The Reaper said, the sword in his hand disappearing in particles of blue light. "My liege is waiting for his prize."
He got on all fours and a pressure started emanating from his body make all of the champions flinch. From underneath his hood, a feral grin of white teeth could be seen as his blue eyes shined from the darkness of the cloak.
The Champions all remembered seeing a white light, and then nothing.
They were all sprawled in the floor, somehow managing to stay in their advanced forms even when unconscious. Their enemy cracked his fists and folded his arms beneath his cloak. "Too easy."
"Bravo, Blademon," The Emperor appeared on Stigmon's hand. He snapped his fingers and six rings appeared, all of them wrapped on the Champions' necks. They woke up with their glowing eyes and the Emperor crossed his arms. "After all this months I finally got my generals. Now our plans are truly in motion. Once again, good job Blademon."
Blademon, The Reaper, put a hand on his chest and bowed. "I live to serve my lord."
The boy smiled, pleased with the way at least one Digimon in this world knew his place; beneath his feet, licking his boots. That without counting Stigmon, since he was basically programmed to do so, or so was his thoughts about the insectoid.
Speaking of whom, he had a unnoticeable frown as he saw the way Blademon talked to the Emperor.
"Let's get back to the base, we'll look for the other two on a later date," The human pressed a finger on the side of his goggles and another tower appeared from beneath the earth. Stigmon lowered his other hand and let Blademon on it. "You know? This is almost boring. I wouldn't mind having a challenge every once in a while."
'You and me both, brat,' Blademon thought, hiding his scowl under his hood.
Stigmon inwardly sighed, hiding his discontent at the whole situation he was roped in, and just flew back to their base.
Laughing maniacally, the Emperor and his two guards left File Island. Many Airdramon appeared and took with them the non-flying Champions, while the other two who could fly followed their new master.
From bushes, two Digimon watched as they left. Gatomon hissed in anger. "We were too late!" She cursed her inability to reach Patamon in time, and now they couldn't do anything to serve their friends -- much less with Patamon now unable to evolve.
"Let's get out of here," Patamon said. "We aren't safe staying in one place too long."
Begrudgingly, Gatomon nodded and the two of them ran.
In a cave in some remote place of the Digital World, a person was typing something on a computer: The old Digital Human known as Gennai.
He sighed as he saw the squares on a map turn black. "File Island is in now of the clutches of that boy... To think a Digidestined would fall to the darkness..." He murmured. "And those forces had allowed him to open the door..." He smiled a bit as his job was done. "But maybe with this... We can turn the tides in our favor."
It showed some sort of program that showed a cave in some place of File Island, one that container something that could fight off the boy. He pressed the send button and sent the program to a place where he knew their heroes will be.
"With this much dark energy in the Digital World with those obelisks the Harmonious are still sealed," Gennai sighed. "And we don't have resources to summon the Anomaly again... We can only hope something else will bring him here..." The old man said.
In an apartment in the Odaiba district, a boy finished his breakfast and was getting ready to start a new day in a new school, his last year in elementary school. His backpack was ready at his side and he put the dishes on the sink.
"Gotta go, mom. Thanks for the breakfast," The boy said, picking his backpack and heading to the door, while passing by his mom's room.
"Sorry I can't go with you, T.K, I have to finish this job as soon as possible," Natsuko Takaishi apologized to her son, while not looking away from the screen.
T.K waved at her even though she didn't see him. "Don't worry mom, I know my way around by now. See you later!" He said while getting out of the house.
Takeru, T.K, Takaishi. Currently thirteen years old, had moved with his mother to the Odaiba district a few days ago for numerous reasons. Mainly for his mother's job, but also so T.K could spend more time with his brother Matt and their father, as well with the other members of the Digidestined.
He walked to the elevator and was slightly surprised when he saw two kids in there already. One of them was a girl with purple hair around his age, with round glasses and a purple dress. The other was definitiva younger than him, around nine or ten years old, with chestnut brown short hair and a purple shirt.
T.K smiled at whom he supposed where his new neighbors. "Good morning!"
The two kids were surprised at seeing the new kid, but replied in kind to his greeting. The girl was more informal, "Morning," she said.
The boy was far more polite and gave him a slight bow. "Good morning."
"We moved recently to the complex, my name is Takeru Takaishi, but I prefer T.K," He said, introducing himself with a smile to cause a good impression.
The girl smiled back and returned the gesture. "I'm Miyajo Inoue, but I prefer the name Yolei, I live just in the floor above you," she gestured to the boy. "And he's Cody Hida."
"Iori, Yolei, Iori Hida," The boy said, scowling a bit at the girl, but the effect was lost in his young face. He turned to T.K again and bowed again. "A pleasure to meet you."
Yolei pouted. "Oh come on, Cody fits you better," She mumbled.
T.K chuckled at his new neighbors antics, he entered the elevator and decided to get to known them better.
The three of them reached the lower plant to leave the complex. Turns out, the three of them went to the same school. Yolei starting her first year in middle school, claiming that sophomores weren't obliged to use uniforms yet, while Iori was on fourth grade.
The three made small talk as they reached the school grounds, many kids already playing before the bell rang.
"Miyako, can you come check on the computer on my house later, please?" Iori asked Yolei. "I don't think it's working correctly."
"No problem," Yolei winked at him playfully. "But I get one of your mom's desserts."
Iori shrugged. "Sure, okay."
T.K watched the building of his new school with nervousness. He was glad he got to know two students before arriving, wheter he liked it or not he was going to be the new kid in any front.
When they reached the courtyard T.K, they went their separate ways with T.K staying in the yard as he saw some kids playing football. He blinked when he saw something glistening as the sun reflected on it.
For a moment he thought he saw his friend Tai. Brown hair, blue clothes, and a pair of square goggles on his eyes. But as he shook his head he realized it was just other kid with similar features.
Said kid kicked the ball a little too hard and sent it out of the part where they were playing. Luckily T.K's reflexes kicked in and he jumped to catch it.
The boy with the goggles jogged to him with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that, pal. Nice catch by the way."
T.K stared at him, the resemblance he had with Tai was uncanny. The boy sweatdropped and gave T.K a funny look. "Eh, is something wrong?"
T.K just gave him the ball back, which the boy clumsily caught, and pointed to the lenses on his head. "Those goggles looks good on you."
The boy looked confused at that statement, but didn't have time to dwell in it as he heard a voice coming from behind him. "Oiii, Davis, what are you waiting!?"
He turned around with a startled jump and saw his friends waiting for him. "Ah, sorry!" He kicked the ball and resumed the game.
T.K watched him go and started thinking for a moment. "Maybe he looks up to Tai. Wouldn't be surprised though, he studies here after all."
The bell rang and everyone entered classes.
Killua panted as he stood in front of a fractured mountain. A pair of yo-yos on on his hands, attached to his arma by a pair of rings. He felt sweat falling down his forehead and his energy leaving him. He sighed and dispelled the aura around him, the yo-yos disappearing as well. "Damnit."
He got up and walked to his phone to check the stopwatch application. He scoffed at the time, just five minutes. That's how much he could conjure a copy of his yo-yos with Nen.
As a Transmuter, Killua could only use at a hundred percent abilities of that category. Abilities that involved converting his aura in an element, in his case lighting. But he could do techniques belonging to the Enhancer or Conjurer's catefory. He hasn't thought of an Enhancer technique, but he already knew what to do as a Conjurer's technique: Create a copy of the yo-yos he used as weapons.
Made of Milluki's special alloy, those yo-yos weighted fifty kilogram each, so with the centrifugal force they could pack quite a punch. But in the case he didn't have them at hand, he could conjure two or at least one of them. But it was taxing to keep them formed, maybe if he was a Conjurer by nature it would be easier.
And that is to say that the yo-yos were as resistant as the originals, Killua had to formed them in his mind piece by piece so if he missed a single material they could break apart.
"Soon I'll have to take on another job, the payment I received from the Chimera mission is running kow," Killua mused. Due to the level of threat the ants showed, all of the involved Hunters received quite a substantial amount of money which he's been using to support himself and Alluka.
From the window, his sister watched him train, marveled at her big brother's powers. But a part of her was still worrying about earlier, how sad his brother looked as he watched the picture.
Alluka sighed and closed her eyes to talk with Nanika in a sort of landscape on their mind.
Both girls sat on a black void and stared at each other with troubled looks. "I wonder why big brother didn't tell us of those friends."
Nanika had her knees pulled to her chest and mumbled. "Killua, sad." She whimpered.
Alluka nodded. "Yeah... Maybe we can get to visit that place! The place where the photo was taken!"
Nanika perked at this and clapped her hands. "Killua happy!"
Deciding their course of action, Alluka opened her eyes and saw her brother entering. He noticed how she just opened her eyes and smiled. "Talking to Nanika?"
"Yep!" She said with a smile. "Hey, big bro! I decided where to go next!"
"Oh yeah?" Killua asked, taking of his drenched white shirt and looking for a towel to take a bath.
Alluka took the picture, that was on her brother's futon, and showed it to him. "Here, here!"
Killua looked back and froze at getting where she wanted to go. He gave a sad smile and shook his head. "That's impossible, Alluka."
"Eh? Why?" Alluka asked, looking downcast.
"That place... Is simply a place were we can't go, it's impossible," He said. "I'll tell you the whole story tonight as a bedtime story, okay?"
"'Kay..." She said, and inside her mind Nanika said the same.
Killua ruffled her head and went to the bathroom. Alluka watched him go and sighed. "That was a bust..."
"Killua, sad..." Nanika sighed as well. Then she perked up and clapped her hands. "Idea, idea!"
Alluka listened her counterpart saying that and went to their landscape. She started at the entity with black features eagerly. "What is it?"
"I send Killua there!" She said.
Alluka blinked and giggled. "Of course, how we didn't thought of that before? We make him have a short visit there with us so he won't feel so sad!"
"'Kay!" Nanika laughed and they hugged and jumped together as they finally solved their dilemma.
In Class 6-A, an excited Daisuke, Davis, Motomiya opened the door with a smile. The reason? He discovered that he would have the chance to share class with his crush.
He spotted her accommodating her books on her seat and walked to her with a goofy smile. "Hey Kari! Seems we share classes again, huh?"
Kari turned and gave him a slight smile. Now thirteen years old, the Digidestined of light most noticeable change was her hairstyle; formerly she had bangs over her forehead, now she wore a clip to keep them from falling. "So it seems."
"Ya' know? I met a kid outside that liked my goggles," He boisted, pointing to the square lenses on his head.
Kari couldn't help but giggle at his friend's boisterous attitude. Remembering how he started wearing those goggles shortly after meeting her brother. "Well what do you know? Someone actually compliments them for once."
Davis gave her a mock-pout and crossed his arms. "Hey!"
"I'm just teasing, you know it!" Kari giggled again, to which Davis returned with a chuckle on his own.
The teacher entered the class with his usual apathy plastered on his face. "Okay kids, welcome back. Today we have a new student in class." He turned to the door. "Come in and present yourself."
T.K entered the classroom and smiled at the group. Giving a small bow he introduced to his new classmates. "My name is Takeru Takaishi, but please call me T.K."
Kari's eyes widened as she saw her fellow Digidestined in the same class, a bright smile on her face at the news.
Davis' eyes also widened whe he realized that it was the same kid who compliment him. Who would've thought they would end up in the same class?
The professor pointed to the seat on Kari's left. "Sit next to Kamiya. Class is about to start."
T.K nodded and sat next to the girl. He turned to her, giving a smile. "It's been a while hasn't it, Kari?"
"I know, right?" She returned the smile. "When did you moved here to Odaiba?"
"A few days ago or so," He explained. "To be closer to Matt and dad, and come to the same school."
"He and my brother are on the upper floors," She explained. "Though he'll probably have band practice later."
T.K forgot about that part and gave a sheepish chuckle. "I guess you're righ. But tell me, how've you been?"
As the two chatted, Davis was seething at their interaction. 'What da hell?! This guy come and he's already all buddy-buddy with Kari?! That's it, T.C, you are on my shit-list!'
As the day in school, many children were ready to call it a day. However, Yolei Inoue wasn't one of fhem. She sat in the computer room of school and waited for the reunion of the computation club, leaded by one of her upperclassmen Izzy Izumi. Normally she would bolt straight to home to catch up to one of her many series, but this reunions were the only time she liked to stay after classes. Mostly because it gave her a chance to play with the computer when they had free time, and mostly because she could try making new programs on her own.
She cracked her fingers and was ready to start a new game when a beeping sound from the screen interrupted her. "Uh? A mail?" She opened the message and tilted her head. "For Izzy? And... What's this?"
It was some sort of program with the shape of a console that showed a footage of some jungle, in the top left corner of the window was a red light and on the right of the screen was written Digiport: Close.
Yolei blinked, confused by what this programs was, she clicked the screen to try and see if there was some sort of reaction from the computer, but nothing happened. She narrowed her gaze at the screen, not making any sense as of what it was. "Maybe the mail will explain something," She opened the mail and started reading it. "'I hope this port is able to help you get through. You are our last hope' ...What?"
Was this some sort of game Izzy was developing? She knew the boy to be a genius, but to be able to create something like this.
She sighed. "Better to look for him before the reunion starts." She got up and bolted out of the room to look for the tech genius.
Killua came out of the shower, now wearing his usual white and blue turtleneck with blue trousers. He put his Yo-yos, the real ones, in his pocket, since we was prepared to look for another job as a Hunter in a city after he and Nanika took off.
He entered the main room where he saw Alluka playing with a tablet he bought for her to entertain herself. He walked pass her and into the controls, ready to initiate the ship to reach a new place to stay. "Okay Alluka, got all of your stuff?"
"Yup," The girl said, not taking her eyes off her game.
"Okay then," Killua started getting the ship ready. "Do you have a place in mind for us to see yet?"
Alluka took that as her cue to put their plan in motion. She winked inwardly at Nanika who nodded. The dark aura surrounded Alluka and her features morphed into those of her counterpart.
Killua felt the shift behind him and turned with an arched eyebrow as he saw the entity in his sister's place. "Nanika? Is something the matter?"
The girl smiled at Killua and raised her arms. "Killua happy!"
Killua's eyebrow raised higher at her statement. Killua happy? What exactly does that meant?
Nanika walked to her brother's futon and took out something under his pillow. It was the picture for early, the one that started setting everything in motion for her. "Killua happy!"
Did she meant that the looked happy in the picture? He looked more surprised than anything in there, after all the Botamon being born at that moment was a big surprise. But seeing the picture he sighed and walked up to her. "What is this all about, Nanika?"
Nanika continued smiling as she held the photo. "Killua visit friends! Killua visit friends!"
Killua's eyes widened as he realized what Nanika was trying to say. She was insisting on them going to the Digital World, because she still didn't knew the reasons why they couldn't do it in the first place. He sighed and placed a hand on her head. "Nanika, I told you we can't go there; it's impossible." Images of File Island flashed through his mind for a brief moment. "I was going to save it as a bedtime story for you and Alluka, but I guess I have to explain y-"
At that moment Killua felt his body fading away. He looked at Nanika and realized that her powers were flowing towards him. She was smiling and repeating the words. "Killua visit friends!"
The implications of those words finally settled on Killua. He understood what Nanika was trying to do, and panic settled on his chest as he realized what was about to happen. "Nanika st-!"
He didn't get to finish as he was sent away, leaving the girls alone in the ship.
Alluka clapped her hands in their landscape as she saw the plan working. "You did it, Nanika! You did it!"
"Aye!"
"Now you only have to send us there so we can visit Big Brother's friends with him!"
"Aye!"
...
...
...
...
...
...
"Nanika?"
"Aye?"
Alluka looked around nervously as she realized they were still on the ship. "Why are we still here? Why haven't you taken us to the place of the picture?"
"Don't know..." The entity mumbled, tilting her head like a lost puppy.
"W-what do you mean you don't know?" Alluka asked, getting even more nervous.
"I don't know... Where that is," She answered referring to the place of the picture.
Alluka blinked. "T-then how did you sent Big Brother there?"
"Knows..." She mumbled. "Killua knows where it is."
Alluka's jaw dropped as she realized what her friend was trying to say. She was able to sent Killua to the place of the picture because he knows where that is, while they don't. Because of that, Nanika's almost infinite power couldn't sent the two to where their brother was. And even if they used it to 'Go where Killua was sent' they still don't know where that is!
"N-no way..." Alluka's eyes started to tear up.
"... Killua?" Nanika whimpered as she realized what she has done.
At that moment. The two girls occupying the same body couldn't help but cry as they realized the big flaw of their plan. Now the two of them where completly alone.
"Do you have all of your things already here?" Kari asked T.K as the two got ready to head out, the girl had invite her to walk with her and her brother back home so they could catch up.
"Yes... Well sort of..." T.K said scratching his cheek. He still needed a few books, but apart from thay he was practically set.
"Oi!" A voice called from behind Kari and they turned to see a panting Davis that was glaring at T.K. "I finally find you!" He said poiting an accusatory finger to the boy.
Kari frowned at the boy's behavior. "Davis what is this all about?"
"Excuse us for a moment, Kari," Davis said. "I have a bone to pick up with. T.P!"
T.K tilted his head at the mispronouncing of his name. "T.P?"
Davis ignored that and continued fuming at him. "Tell me, who do you think you are getting all so mushy with Kari!?"
"Eh?"
Kari sighed and almost face-palmed. 'Not this again...' Davis was a dorky and sweet boy from time to time, yet he always got like this when he got jealous. Mostly over her. She knew of her crush for her, and while flattered she didn't returned them. She just didn't knew how to say it to him without breaking his heart or ruining their friendship.
"So it is true! You were transferred here!" The three turned to the new voice to see Tai Kamiya standing there in his uniform, smiling at the blond boy. "It's good to see you, T.K!"
"It's good to see you too, Tai!" T.K beamed at seeing the older and basically second leader of the Digidestined.
Tai walked forward and they shook hands. "Matt's says he's sorry for not coming to meet up with you, but he had to attend a met with his band, but that he can meet you later."
"That's okay, tell me how've you been? Kari told me you're now captain of the football team," T.K asked as the two started chatting.
Davis' jaw almost touched the ground. First the new kid gets all friendly with the girl of his dreams, and now he is apparently friends with his role model?! What was going on?!
"Excuse me!" Again, a voice called for them and they turned to see Yolei standing there. She glanced at Tai for a moment. "You are Taichi Kamiya from eleventh grade, right?"
"Yeah, that's me." Tai nodded, confused as to what the girl wanted with me.
"Is something wrong Yolei?" T.K asked his neighbor.
The girl seemed to notice him and waved. "Oh, hi T.K! It's nothing, I was looking for Izzy and since I heard Taichi and him are friends I thought he knew where he is." She explained.
"What she's late for your reunion, Yolei?" Davis asked with a snark.
"Oh, I thought I smelled sweat," Yolei deadpanned as she saw Davis. "Hi, Daisuke. Seems the balls you take to the face hadn't fixed it."
"Hardy har har." Davis said sarcastically. "And those glasses of you keep getting bigger. Getting blinder and blinder with so much screens?"
"At least it's more useful than to just kick around a ball," She said glaring at him.
He glared back and all of those presents sweatdropped and could practically see the sparks flying from their eyes, clashing against each other.
T.K blinked and leaned on Kari. "Are they usually like this?"
The girl shrugged. "From what I know," She said. "Davis and Miyako known each other since they were kids, thought they are usually bantering."
Tai cleared his throat to stop the bickering of his two juniors. "Umm, Izzy is still in the classroom. Why do you need him for?"
"Oh," Yolei stopped glaring at Davis and turned to Tai. "It's just that he received a weird message and some kind of program called Digiport or something like that."
The three Digidestined's eyes almost popped out of their sockets when they heard that. "WHAT?!"
Davis flinched. "Eh? W-what's that about?"
T.K walked forward. "Yolei, are you sure it said that?"
Yolei nodded, bewildered at their reaction. "Y-yeah. And it also had a weird email saying something about him being the last hope or something..."
Tai turned to the Children of Hope and Light. "You guys go with her to confirm this, I'll go get Izzy!"
"Right," The two nodded. T.K turned to Yolei with a hurried expression. "Take us there, please!"
"Umm, right, this way!" She said, guiding them to the computer room.
Davis stood there for a moment as he watched them go, blinking once and twice, he regained his bearings and remembered that the new kid was still with his crush. "H-hey! I'm coming too!" He said rushing with them to the room.
When they reached the computer room, Yolei guided them to the computer that had the mysterious program and the email.
Kari frowned as she saw the footage of the cave and the email. "There's no doubt about it, it's from the Digital World, but why now?" She asked T.K.
"I don't know," He answered. "But we better we better wait for Tai and Izzy, they'll know what to do."
Yolei and Davis just watched them talk about this 'Digital World' thing with confused expressions. Davis was also fuming as he saw the new guy having secrest with his girlfriend-to-be. "What do you think they're taking about?" He grumbled.
"How should I know?" Yolei shrugged. "I think it's maybe some new game, and it's that's the case they're taking it a little too seriously."
"Ah, there you are Yolei!" The door opened and they turned to see Iori entering the room. "I thought we were going home together today."
Yolei scratched her head. "Hehe, sorry. I forgot today I have club meeting, and besides something kind of came up."
Iori tilted his head as he heard that. "And what is it?"
Before she could answer, two panting teenagers entered the room. "Found him!" Tai said, accompanied by his red-headed friend Izzy.
"Did you... Had to... Drag me here?!" Izzy complained.
"No time for that!" Tai said straightening himself and walking forward to the computer. "This is it?" He asked his sister and blonde friend to which they nodded.
Izzy noticed T.K and smiled. "Hi, T.K! How've you been."
T.K smiled back. "Hi, Izzy! I've been fine, and y-"
"Can we please focus on this!" Kari said, poiting to the computer, slighting exasperated that they got sidetracked.
Both boys blushed in embarrassment. "R-right," They chuckled sheepishly.
Cody tilted his head as he saw them gathering around the computer. "What's going on?"
"Join the club of: I don't have the foggiest idea, kid," Davis grumbled, still in a sour mood.
Izzy inspected the program and frowned in thought. "If this is a Digiport then maybe..." He turned to the three. "Do all of you have your Digivices?"
Their eyes widened for a moment and exchanged looks before nodding. From their pockets they all took out their beloved devices, always carrying them as a token of their adventure five years ago.
Izzy smiled and took out his. "Okay, then maybe with them we can open the gate."
"Okay that's it!" Davis screamed, calling everyone's attention. "Can someone please clue us in on what's going on?!"
"Yeah, this is all getting weird, what are those things?" Yolei asked, pointing to the Digivices.
Iori tugged on her shirt with a frown. "Miyako, don't be rude!" He said, not wanting to upset his upperclassmen, even though he felt curious as well.
Izzy turned and showed it to them. "These are Digivices and about what this is all about... It's kind of a long story."
At that moment, something happened that no one noticed. As Izzy pointed the Digivice at them to show it, the screen of the device started showing a bunch of codes and beeping in a low tone. Showing small symbols on it.
"I still don't get any of this!" Davis grumbled.
Izzy shrugged. "That's understandable," he turned to Yolei. "Sorry to bother you, but could you tell the others that the reunion of today will be postponed? I'll explain everything later on."
"Umm, okay," Yolei shrugged and turned to Cody. "I guess I can accompany you home today then."
The younger boy nodded and the two left the room, albeit reluctantly. Only the Digidestined and Davis were left. They all looked at the boy with square goggles with expectant looks, as if expecting her to leave as well, but the boy crossed his arms stubbornly. "I'm staying until someone explains me what's going on!"
Kari inwardly groaned at his stubbornness. "Davis, please. We'll tell you later, but you simply can't help if you don't have one of these!" She said, showing him her Digivice.
In a cave in File Island, a round object shined an orange color and three lights were shot out from it and towards the nearest opening of a Digiport.
The object stopped glowing and went back to being inactive.
The reason for his activation was the signal it received from the real world. A signal that showed that it has found the right people to take it.
The screen of the computer came to life and three beams of light came out of them. Everyone yelp and ducked as they flew around the room for a moment, as if searching for something, before they all bolted to the door, except for one. One of them crashed on Davis, knocking the boy off his feet while the other two beams left the room.
Everyone waited for a moment after the commotion before they could lift their heads. T.K blinked. "What was THAT?!"
Davis groaned and sat up while rubbing his head. He felt a light weight on his stomach and looked down to see an object on it. "Huh?" He toon it and observed it. It was as big as his hand, with a white color and a blue trim on its edges. He blinked and sat up, showing the strange device. "Aha! This is what I needed it right?!" He said, triumphantly.
"It's that a Digivice?!" Tai gasped, looking at the object.
Kari frowned at hers. "But it looks different from ours."
"With this I can go, right?!" Davis asked, eager to be involved in whatever business they were dealing.
Tai gave Davis an analytical gaze. They didn't know what they were about to face when they went back to the Digital World — something that he was feeling more than thrilled about to do — and Davis didn't had a partner. But to be fair maybe a partner was waiting for him now. He took a deep breath and for a moment brief moment he thought of a certain white haired friend of his. 'What would Killua do...?'
Kari wasn't as patient as her brother and took out her Digivice. "Whatever is happening I'll be going!" She said, determined. If Gatomon needed her help, and more so if she had the chance to see her after five years, she knew a day like this would come and she would take the chance!
There was a bright light and Kari was absorbed by it.
T.K gripped his Digivice. Wanting to see Patamon again. Remembering the promise he did with the flying hamster Digimon. "I'll go too!" He said and pointed his Digivice as well and was sucked in as well.
Davis' jaw, for the second time in that day, has fallen to the ground. One thing was losing the edge to conquer Kari's heart, but another was to see his crush and new love rival being absorbed into a computer. "W-w-what?!"
Tai sighed and pointed his Digivice as well, thinking of Agumon. "Davis, it's up to you. If you want to come, know what it'll be dangerous." And with that he was gone.
Davis blinked and looked down at the device on his hand. If this was given to him, then maybe he had to go with them as well. "Oh, what the hell?! I'll go!" He pointed the upgraded device and was absorbed.
Izzy stood there, his mind processing the fact that Davis had some kind of new Digivice. "Questions later, seeing and helping Tentomon now!" He said and pointed his device.
"IZZY!" The shrill of a voice said as Yolei skidded to a stop at the frame of the door.
Izzy yelped and almost dropped his Digivice. He turned around with a nervous smile, hiding the device behind his back. "W-what is it?!"
"We saw a bright light coming from here!" Iori said. Then he noticed how empty the room was and looked around. "And the others?"
"Eeeeem..." Izzy started sweating bullets as he thought of something to say.
"Never mind that!" Yolei said. "Look!" she said taking out something from her pocket.
Izzy's eyes buldged out of his sockets as he saw a Digivice similar to Davis', except this one was red. "Eh?"
"I have one too," Cody said, taking out a Digivice of a similar design, except his was yellow.
Izzy's mind was running fast as he saw the new Digivice models. Trying to make any sense of what was happening. But one thing was clear, if they had Digivices they needed to know. "Uggg... Take a sit."
When he opened his eyes, he was staring at a clear blue sky in the middle of the forest. He blinked and licked his lips, feeling a bit thirsty but decides to leave that thought for later. He sat up and looked around, everything around him looking the same. "Hmmm this place..."
His eyes widened as he remembered what happened. His sister using her powers on him, the picture, his thoughts on File Island. With conflicy emotions he realized where he was.
"I can't believe it... I'm back..." Killua muttered, but at the same time he felt scared, annoyed and a bit angry. 'Damnit Nanika, why did you do it?!'
Worst part was that probably his friends weren't even in the Digital World, they were probably on their own world minding their own business... But a whole other group of friends were her.
"Gotta find Agumon and the others, and explain this to them," Killua said and got up. The he froze and peeled off his sleeves to check on his wrist. He sighed in relief. "Ah... No bracelets this time..."
With that out of the way, he started leaping from tree to tree to find the others.
"Uggg..." Kari groaned as she was suddenly in the bottom of a dogpile, her friends and brother on top of her. "How did this happened?"
The boys untangled themselves from the dogpile and allowed the girl to sat up. "Sorry, sis," Tai said. "Probably you got the bottom because you were the first to get in," He chuckled.
Kari pouted. "It's not funny!" She said to her brother.
"Ah!" Davis voice startled everyone. "What the heck?!"
They turned to see what was the cause of his commotion, he was wearing now a jacket with a furry collar, with a flame pattern, yellow pants and gloves. "What's with this outfit?" He asked.
"I don't know, it never happened something like that to us," T.K answered, looking down to see his clothes were still the same.
Kari got out her Digivice and looked at the dots. There were four of them together — Which she supposed it was them — and two far away, which had to be one of their partners. "This way, come on!" She said and started following the signal.
"Kari wait!" Tai said as he followed his siter.
T.K blinked. "Wow, I don't remember her being so active before," He said, then again, many things could change in five years.
Davis heard this and let out a smirk. "Oh really~? Well as far as I've known her she's been really active~!" It was petty, but an advantage over the new guy is an advantage.
T.K smiled. "Well I guess she's Tai's sister after all. Let's go!" He said, Davis intentions going completly over his head.
The boy growled as his attempts to show-off with the new guy weren't even noticed. Kicking a peeble he followed the others.
The Emperor raised an eyebrow as he saw a group of four humans entering his world from his base of operations. Dozens of screens around him as he sat on a dark room on his throne. "Huh... Are those the famous Digidestined?" He wondered.
He heard of those supposed children that saved the world years ago from some of the Digimon he captured. That's how he knew of the Digimon that were now his generals.
But he smiled as he eyed an object on his hand. "That doesn't matter, they won't be able to stand up to my army. Not without the Digivolution..." He said, glancing at his Dark Digivice. A Digivice of the same model Davis had, without him knowing it.
He heard footsteps behind him. "My lord, do you wish me to take care of those Children?" Blademon asked, kneeling behind the boy.
"Nah, you already did a lot today Blademon," He waved his hand. "Let's see if they can lure out the two remaining runaways. Then I'll send a Snimon or maybe a Monochromon."
Blademon nodded and got up. "As you wish, my lord." He walked away from the boy, but something from the screens caught his eyes. He turned to see what it was, but saw nothing. He frowned. "Hmmm..." He swore he saw a white and blue blur.
The group continued walking with the veteran Digidestined looking at their Digivices to guide themselves to found their partners. "They're close..." Kari murmured.
Davis was lagging behind, his new outfit getting him all sweaty. "Uggg I can't take another step..." He looked around and noticed something miraculous: A vending machine. "Oh thank God!" He got close and looked around his pockets. He grinned as he found some coins.
The others noticed he stopped and turned. T.K and Tai flinching when they saw what he was trying to do. "Umm Davis, maybe you shouldn't-" The blond tried to warn.
"Hush, T.S, I'm thirsty!" Davis said, putting the coins in and waiting eagerly. When nothing happened he got angry. "What's with this stupid thing?!" He kicked the machine and the facade fell, revealing a bunch of Numemon inside of it. Davis blinked at what he saw. "Uhhhh..."
"WE'VE BEEN SPOTTED! RETREAT!" The Numemon said and scattered around, much to the boy's surprise.
"W-what were those things?" He asked.
"Digimon," Kari explained. "The creatures that live in this world."
"Are all of those like them?" He asked, feeling a bit disgusted by their appearance.
"No, all of them are diff-" Tai was interrupted by the rustling of some bushes.
Everyone was immediately on alert, specially the veterans who knew the dangers of that world.
But they relaxed and almost leaped in joy when they saw who were behind the bushes. Patamon and Gatomon bursted through it and they froze when they saw the humans in front of him. Patamon's eyes watered as he recognized his partner, even if he was taller he knew it was him. "T.K!" He flew to him.
"Patamon!" The boy cried in joy as he catched his partner in his arms. The two of them hugging after not seeing each other for a long time.
Gatomon immediately followed suit and leaped in Kari's arms. "Kari!"
"Gatomon!" Kari said in joy, hugging her partner close to her. And also feeling something between them. She pulled Gatomon away and realized what she had on her neck. "You still have it?" She asked happily.
Gatomon took the whistle and blow it to show that, despite looking worn out, it still worked.
Davis watched the entire reunion with his jaw dropped for the third time that day. "The cat talked... The hamster has wings... Sure why not?!" He said, throwing his hands in the air.
Gatomon noticed the boy and narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Who's that?"
"He's Davis, a friend of mine." Kari answered. "It's okay, he can be trusted."
"Okay..." Gatomon said, not trusting every human after recent events.
Tai stepped forward. "Gatomon, Patamon, what is going on? Why was a port opened and why we were sent a message that said we needed to come back?"
"... I don't know what you're talking about," Patamon said. "But we are in danger."
"Uh?!" The veterans asked, while Davis didn't knew what to say.
"It is not safe to talk here," Gatomon said, leaping out of Kari's arms. "There's a cave around here where we can talk, follow me!"
Not having any other option, they followed the cat Digimon into the forest. Just as Gatomon promised there was a cave down the road, in the middle of a clearing of the forest. Gatomon kept glancing behind her shoulder to make sure there weren't any spies of the Emperor following them, these last couple of months making her paranoid in ways she hasn't been since Myotismon.
The humans entered first and Gatomon kept guard for a moment before sighing and continuing further into the cave, far away from the entrance. "I think we're safe now..."
"Safe from what," Kari asked, wanting some explaining from her partner.
"A human calling himself the Digimon Emperor has been using some rings to slave Digimon," Gatomon explained. "He attacked the Server Continent and he has recently taken over File Island."
"Another human?" Tai asked. "But... Wait a minute where are Agumon and the others?"
Patamon lowered his head. "They were captured early today by the Emperor. Even Leomon..."
Tai's blood froze as he heard that Agumon, his partner, and all of his friends were captured by this Emperor guy. "N-no way... But how was Leomon captured? He should be able to turn into SaberLeomon."
"The Emperor has something called Control Towers that nullifies Digivolution," Gatomon explained. "And he uses a weird Digivice to do it."
"A weird Digivice?" Kari muttered and she turned to the confused boy behind them. "Davis, could you show your Digivice?"
"Uh? Oh, yeah!" He said, showing his blue Digivice. "Does it look like this?"
Gatomon's eyes narrowed. "Yes... It does! What are you? working with the Emperor?!"
"Gatomon, no!" Kari said. "Davis got his Digivice just today! We saw him get it!"
"Yes, yes! I swear!" Davis said frantically, not liking the look on the cat's face.
Gatomon relaxed and dropped her ears. "Sorry... It's been... A couple of rough months..."
Kari watched her partner with sympathy. "Gatomon..." Then her face hardened. "Who does this that guy think he is?!" She asked. "Thinking he can treat Digimon like that?"
"Apparently he believes himself to be an Emperor," T.K said, a frown on his face at thinking of some sort of evil Digidestined.
"'Digimon Emperor'" Kari scoffed. "Just hearing of someone like that gets on my nerves!" She said stomping her foot.
Then there was a click.
From his throne, the Emperor chuckled in amusement at Kari's outburst. His Dark Rings had entered the cave and were recording the invaders to his world. "Oh come on, this is all a game," He said, thought he knew she didn't listened. "And if you can play by my rules, well... I guess I'll have to erase you."
He waved his hand and a transparent keyboard appeared in front of him. He started pressing some of the keys and the image of various Digimon, his slaves, appeared. "Hmmm let's see... This one shall do." He smirked evilly as he summoned the Digimon of choice. "This for land and... This one for air. Go for them Monochromon, Airdramon!"
From a sector near the place where the cave was, a subterranean door opened and two Digimon with Dark Rings on their torsos appeared, roaring as they took off to fulfill their master's command to eliminate the intruders.
The Emperor leaned back as he saw the his servants going to attack. "Ah now to enjoy the," his eyes widened as he realized they weren't in the screen anymore. "... What?"
As he leapted across the forest, Killua was trying to keep his thoughts calm. He was a little, well really angry at Nanika and Alluka for pulling this stunt on him. He knows that their intentions were good, but now she was all alone with their family following their clue. But now he had to focus on finding any clue of where Agumon and the others could be.
"Huh?" His thoughts were interrupted when he heard stomps below him. He looked down to see a Monochromon running through the forest, charging against anything on its way, its eyes an unnatural red color, and some sort of ring attached to its abdomen. "What's that about?"
Again his thoughts came to a halt when he heard a flapping sound and looked up to see a Digimon similar to a Chinese dragon flying over him, in the same direction where the Monochromon was going.
Killua frowned. "I have a bad feeling about those two..." He decided to follow them, as his gut tells him that maybe these Digimon could guide him to his friends. After all, when there was trouble usually his friends were in the middle of it.
When Kari stomped her foot, there was a click and a trap door opened beneath their feet. They hovered comically in the air for a moment before everyone fell down.
The impact lifted a cloud of smoke and everyone was dogpiled again, this time Tai at the bottom. "Why me...?" He groaned.
"Sorry..." Kari meekly apologized, knowing her temper was the reason for this.
Patamon had cushioned Gatomon's fall. "Weren't you supposed to land on all fours?"
"Oh, shut it," The cat groaned.
When they untangled themselves and regained their footing, they noticed a long tunnel on the side of the cave. "Maybe that leads to an exit," T.K said.
"I-I was going to say that," Davis sputtered, trying to look good, although he was feeling out of place in this whole situation.
Again without a choice, they walked down the tunnel, hoping to find a way back up. Not knowing a Dark Ring was following them, entering from the opening in the ceiling.
Light was starting to be shown down the tunnel, lifting everyone's hopes for an exit. But the deception didn't waited to appear and they found a dead end in an spacious chamber, with something in the middle. "What's that?" Davis asked.
Tai's eyes widened. "Is that... My Crest?!"
In the middle of the chamber, in some sort of altar was something similar to a Digi-egg with an unique pattern. It was covered in flames, with the Crest of Courage in the middle, and a large horn on its top.
"It's that an egg?" Davis asked. Then he noticed the horn. "Ouch... Poor chicken."
"Tai, do you think you can use it?" T.K asked. "It has your emblem and it might be useful."
Tai watched the egg and nodded. If that egg had his Crest then maybe it was meant for him or something. It could help them to get Agumon and the others back, he wasn't going to let his partner be in the hands of some crazy guy that thought himself to be an Emperor.
He walked up to it and placed his hands around it and tugged... Nothing happened. He continued on tugging but the egg didn't budge. "Uggg, come on!"
"Tai, are you okay?" Kari asked.
Tai let go of that thing and sighed. "It's pretty darn heavy! I can't make it budge!"
"Let me try!" Kari offered herself and walked to the egg. She put her hands around the egg and pulled, but just like with her brother it didn't budged. "Uggg, what's wrong with this thing?!" She asked, letting go of the object.
T.K was next and he pulled with everything he had. "Grrrrrrr agh! Come on!" He growled, but in the end gave up. "It's like the sword in rhe rock..."
"Sword on the..." A lightbulb went on on Davis' head. If Tai couldn't and the new guy couldn't... Then if he could, Kari would be impressed! In his mind, he imagined himself with exaggerated muscles as Kari caressed them. "MY TURN! MY TURN!" He said excitedly.
He went to the egg and did the exact same thing as the others... Only this time it worked.
The egg came out easily and he fell on his back. "Uh? Hey what's the deal guys, this thing is as light as a feather!" He said, tossing the egg up and down.
Tai was shocked. He couldn't out the egg with his Crest, yet Davis could? What did that meant?! 'New Digivice, he has my Crest... Could it be that Davis is-!' He came to a realization that was interrupted by a bright light.
From the place where the Digi-egg was placed a few moments ago, a pillar of orange light appeared. A silhouette started to form in the middle of the beam, curled up in a ball like it was a baby. When the light dissipated, the only thing left hovering in the air was a blue Digimon with reptile features, with a small horn on its nose.
It blinked for a few moments before grinning and extending his limbs with a yell of joy. "FREEDOM!" He fell to the ground and started leaping around the cave. "AT LAST, AT LAST, I FINALLY WOKE UP!" The Digimon celebrated.
Davis took a step back as he saw the little blue dragon dancing around the cave. "Ummm, what's that?" He asked.
"We've never seen a Digimon like that before," Kari confessed, amused by the little Digimon's behavior.
"He's a V-mon," Gatomon said. "It is said that they are happy Digimon that brought good luck..." She had read about them in a book from her yeara with Myotismon. "But they were supposed to be extinct..."
The small reptile stopped his celebration and turned to the Digidestined, noticing that Davis had the Digi-egg. "Oh! You are the one who took away the Digi-egg!" He laughed and launched himself to the boy. "Thank you! That means you are a nice guy! From now on I'll be your partner! What's your name?"
Davis blinked at all of this events, everything was happening too fast. "Errr... Daisuke, but you can call me Davis."
"Nice to meetcha Davith!" V-mon said, not letting up of the boy.
"It's Davis," The boy sweatdropped.
"That's what I said."
"No, you said-"
Before the boy could correct the small dinosaur, there was a tremor that shook the entire cave. The ceiling behind them collapsed, as well as one of the walls at the side of the cave, and from above a Monochromon appeared. Both of them having glowing red eyes and Dark Rings attached to their forms.
"Shit!" Gatomon cursed. "The Emperor found us, run!"
Thanks to the tremor, one of the walls from the side of the cave collapsed, revealing a tunnel with light on his end; an exit they could take advantage off.
Not wasting any second they ran as far as they could, while the Monochromon opened his mouth and a blazing ball of fire formed in its mouth and was launched at the group.
Davis and V-mon were lagging behind everyone else. The boy was panting heavily as the adrenaline filled his body. "Now a dinosaur is chasing us! Sure why not?!"
"Davith! You have to use the egg!" V-mon told him between breaths. "With your Courage I can fight!"
"What are you talking about?!" Davis asked, looking at the blue dino as if he was crazy. "That thing is gaining on us!"
He felt hear behind him and saw the fire ball launched at them. He hurried the pace along with V-mon and made a mad dash out of the cave. The others had already made it out and slide down a small hill to get away from the danger, and Davis managed to get out, hiding behind the cave's exit to avoid the explosión the attack caused. The impact of the fireball caused a collapsed that sealed the exit, leaving Monochromon trapped.
"T-that... Wasn't... Fun!" Davis panted, doubling over and feeling his lunch coming up from his stomach.
"I thought it was!" V-mon chirped, causing Davis to give him a glare.
"Davis!"
The call from his name caused him to run forward and look down from the hill where he was, to see Kari and the others looking at him worriedly. "Are you okay?!" She asked.
Davis blushed and grinned stupidly. 'Awww he was worried about me, suck on that T.P!' He waved at her. "Yeah, we're good!"
"Ummm, Davith?" V-mon tugged from his shirt and pointed up.
Davis looked up and gasped as he saw another Digimon, this one resembling a dragon, flying over them. "Another one?!"
Airdramon opened his mouth and formed a bubble of condensed air that was launched at the group down the hill. The impact sent them all flying backwards, and Kari ended up landing on one of her ankles in an awkward position, twisting it. "Agh!"
"Kari!" Davis called for her in concern.
Gatomon was at her partner's side in a moment. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"I... I think I hurt my ankle..." She said, holding his injured limb.
Airdramon roared and dived for the girl, seeing her as an easy prey. Kari gasped and Gatomon stood between the monster and her partner, even though she was tired from all the running she's been doing.
"Kari!" All the boys in the group called in concern, seeing how the girl was about to be attacked.
V-mon turned to Davis. "Davis! Use the Digi-egg, the Digimental!"
"How?!" The boy asked, wanting nothing more than to help his crush.
"Just say Digimental Up! And believe in your Courage!" The dinosaur said, clenching his fist.
Time seemed to froze for Davis as he saw from the hill how the dragon was about to attack Kari, even if the cat friend she had was going to protect her. He couldn't just sit by and let this happen! He wanted to impress her! And to do that, he was going to save her no matter what!
He raised the egg and yelled. "Digimental Up!"
The egg started shining and so did V-mon.
"V-mon Armor Digivolves to..." The egg broke in different pieces, while V-mon's body grew larger. The pieces placed themselves in V-mon's arms, legs, knees, chest and head. From the armor on his head a blade appeared, similar to the one in the egg. Proudly, this new Digimon declared his name. "Flamedramon! The Corageous Fire!"
Davis gaped at the sight of his partner's new form. It all seemed out of a videogame. Now being taller than him, Flamedramon's whole demeanor seemed more serious than V-mon's. Everyone turned around to watch the evolution in shock, even Airdramon, who detected a new threat to his mission.
"How could he Digivolve?" Patamon asked, knowing that with the Emperor's powers that was impossible.
Flamedramon took a fighting stance and leaped to the fight. Davis couldn't help but grin and cheer for his partner. "Go kick his ass!"
The Airdramon charged at Flamedramon and was ready to take a chomp out of him, but Flamedramon blocked his advance with his bare hands and gripped the aerial Digimon's mouth. He started spinning him around and launched him to some nearby trees.
Flamedramon jumped high and his whole body was encased in fire. "Fire Lariat!" Like a rocket, he launched himself to the dragon to cause some damage.
"Aim for the ring! If you break it he'll be free!" Gatomon yelled.
Flamedramon heard her and nodded, redirecting himself to the torso of the Digimon where his Dark Ring was attached. He impacted and the dark device started cracking before breaking completly.
Airdramon's eyes returned to its usual yellow. It looked around, confused for a moment, before extending its wings and flying away.
Davis was grinning like a maniac as all of that happened. Now he had some sort of super-cool dinosaur that could envelope himself in fire and fight to save this world from some crazy overlord. 'I'M A SHONEN PROTAGONIST!' He screamed in his mind.
Before anyone could make any sort of question about what just happened, the collapsed exit of the cave bursted open and an angered Monochromon came out of it, roaring like a wild beast. It spotted one of the targets it was sent to hunt and opened his mouth to launch another attack.
"Davis, look out!" Flamedramon called, enveloping in fire to use his Lariat and save his partner.
Davis was frozen as he saw the monster about to launch its attack at him. He just had his time as a hero and now this was happening?! He could hear his friends calling out to him but he was just shaking on his boots, unable to move. 'T-t-this is it?!'
But before the attack was launched, a figure jumped off the top of the cave's surface and crashed into the Monochromon's back, in the place where the ring was placed.
The impact caused a small tremor and Davis fell backwards down the hill. "Wah!" He rolled across it, until coming to a stop at the feet of his friends... And T.C. "Awww..."
Flamedramon and Tai were at his side in a moment. "Are you alright?" The older boy asked.
"Y-yeah..." He sat up and put his hand on his head, inwardly sighing in relief as he felt his goggles in one piece on his head. "Just a bruised pride."
T.K helped Kari on her feet and the two walked to the rest of the group. Kari looked up in wonder. "What was that?"
From the smoke, they could hear someone talking. "As I thought, this ring was making it act all crazy. But I didn't expect to see other people here..."
As he pursue the two beasts, he lost trail of them when they entered a cave. Only to regained a clue when he heard the commotion of a battle. So he climbed over the cave to see what it was about, just in time to see the Monochromon about to attack a kid.
He walked out of the smoke to see if the kid was okay. "Oi, everyone okay dowm... There..." His words died in his mouth as he saw the other members of the group.
Two of them he barely recognized, One was a blond with a fisher one and the other was a... A really cute girl in Killua's opinion, with a pink and white shirt and gloves that reached her elbows.
But the third one was unmistakable for him: Spiky wild hair and goggles at the top of his head. There was only one person he knew of those features. "T-Tai?"
Tai, T.K and Kari couldn't belive their eyes. There, at the top of the hill was a person they thought they wouldn't see again, yet destiny seemed to want them to reunite with all of their friends today. His snowy white hair being something unmistakable for any of them. Tai was the first one to break out of his stupor and called out for him hesitantly. "K-Killua?"
The boy broke into a grin and he slid down from the hill to reunite with his friend after five months of believing they wouldn't see each other again. "I can't believe it is you!" Killua laughed.
Tai, T.K and Kari ran forward to meet him, eager face to catch up with him after five long years. "How are you here, this is amazing!" Tai called as he lead his sister and friend to meet with their leader.
But when Killua landed and he locked eyes with them, everyone froze.
For Killua it was because Tai was now definitely taller than the last time he saw him, and his voice certainly sounded deeper than before.
While for the others it was the opposite; Killua hasn't changed a bit. He was a little bit taller, but nothing else. Which didn't make sense to them since he should be Joe's age by now, if not older.
"T-Tai... It is you, right?" Killua asked, now hesitant.
"Yeah... And it is you, right Killua?" Tai asked, unsure.
He nodded and to make it clear he sharpened his claws, something only few people had seen him able to do without being his victims. "Yeah, it's me."
"But... You haven't changed!" Kari exclaimed.
"You should be older than Joe by now!" T.K supplement.
Gatomon and Patamon exchanged looks. "Shouldn't Killua be taller now, like T.K and the others?" Patamon asked.
Gatomon just shrugged. "I suppose."
Killua blinkes as he looked at the other two kids with Tai. Realization dawning on his face. "Wait a minute... T.K?" He said poiting to the blond. "Kari?!" He said pointing to the girl.
They nodded eagerly, although still confused. "Yeah, it's us!" T.K said.
Killua blinked and his mouth was hanging on his mouth. 'How did they grow up so much?! ... And wow Kari is kind of cu- No! bad thoughts! Those are hormones thoughts!' He berated himself.
Davis, who was watching everything with confusion, finally had enough. "Can someone tell me what's going on?!"
Flamedramon sighed and reverted back to V-mon. An orange light coming out of his body and entering Davis' pocket. The boy stopped his ranting and looked at his pocket to see a new device, similar to a small computer, on his pocket. "Da hell is this?"
Killua looked at the boy with an arched eyebrow. "Who's that?"
Tai sighed. "Okay... Seems we have a lot to talk about." He said with an awkwardly chuckle.
"You said it..." Killua nodded, thinking of all of today's craziness.
The group watched as the released Monochromon left without even batting an eye to them. "I can't believe such a pacific Digimon causes us so much trouble," T.K said.
Kari scowled. "That Digimon Emperor is only causing troubles!" She turned to see her brother and Killua talking. "But I guess... Something good came from it," She said, referring to the chance of meeting again with old friends.
Killua and Tai exchanged information about what happened. Killua stuffing his hands on his pockets as he took all in. "Five years... While for me it was five months for you it was five years..." He muttered.
"I'm not genius on the matter," Tai said. "But I thought that after beating Apocalymon the thing with the time would be over."
"That was between your world and this one," Killua said. "With mine it was never explained what relations it had, or if it is something else that affect it." He sighed. 'At least now I know that Alluka and Nanika will be safe for a while. If time passes slowly in my world then I can take time to find some way back... Again. I don't know if I should feel annoyed or nostalgic.'
Kari and T.K went close to them, to join the conversation. "What will you do now, Killua?" T.K asked.
The boy shrugged. "Guess I'll stick around with you guys," He said. "Just like last time." He added with a smirk.
"The maybe you can stay in home like last time!" Kari offered with a smile. "I'm sure mom wouldn't mind."
The boy blinked. "Are you sure? I wouldn't want to intrude."
"No problem, man," Tai said. "Mom wanted to thank you after we came back home last time, but couldn't since you went to you own world. I'm sure if we explain it to her, she'll understand."
At the insistence of the Kamiyas, the boy could only nod in acceptance. "Okay then," He smiled, feeling happy that he could spend time with his friends and make up for those lost years.
The group smiled, specially the Kamiyas, who beamed at the thought of being able to reconnect with their leader after so much time.
Away from them, Davis was fuming as he heard all that. 'That guy is staying at Kari's house?! And more over he could take on that monster in one hit?! How can I compete with that?!' He asked as he remembered how the boy with white haired saved him from.
Tai and Killua approached him. Tai decided it would be the best if they introduced each other. "Killua this is Davis. He seems to be a new Digidestined, with a brand new Digivice!"
Davis' perked up at that. 'That's right! Neither T.F or this guy had a Digivice like mine! Or a partner as cool as mine!' He said stealing a glance at the grinning V-mon, who seemed happy every time. 'I have an edge as the leader of new Digidestined!'
"Maybe you can help him to get rid of this Digimon Emperor," Tai told Killua in a petition. "At least until we can fight on our own again."
That crashed Davis' hopes. "Uh?" He was panicking inwardly. 'He? help me?! Shouldn't it be the other way around?!' He yelled.
"Sure," Killua nodded. "From what you told me, that Emperor guy is in my shit list," He said scowling. "If he has Agumon and the others as slaves then he has to go down!"
Tai smiled. "Glad to have you back, man!" He said clapping his shoulder.
"Glad to be back," Killua smiled back.
Kari was beaming at the Hunter, at the prospect of fighting again at his side. "We'll be counting on you!"
"With you, that Emperor won't know what hit him!" T.K said, pumping his fist.
Davis slumped in defeat as he saw how friendly the new guys were with everyone around him that he wanted to impress. 'Aw come on!'
"For now, it's time to go home..." Tai looked down at the Digimon. "You guys will be okay in the meantime?"
Gatomon nodded. "Don't worry, the Emperor never strikes in the night."
"So the bad guy has a bedtime schedule, got it," Killua joked and everyone couldn't help but snicker at the thought of the feared Emperor being told to go to sleep by his mother.
Davis simply slumped further.
Everyone gathered around a TV, and Killua tilted his head skeptically. "Is this it?"
"Yeah," Tai nodded. "Davis, do your thing."
"Yeah," He nodded, still bummed at his misfortune at not being the badasa hero today. He pointed his Digivice at the tv and all of the humans were sucked in.
V-mon gasped. "Ah! They're gone!"
"Don't worry, they'll be back tomorrow!" Patamon assured. "For now let's go to the cave to sleep."
He nodded and went with his new Digimon friends to the cave where he had been sealed until he met his partner.
From his throne, the Emperor watched the events repeat itself on the screen with a smirk. His wish was granted, his fun and challenges had come to him!
Blademon entered the room, to check up on him. "My lord, is everything is order."
"Oh, Blademon... Much better than that," He said, pointing to the screen that showed Flamedramon. "Look! Somehow this kid managed to evolve this Digimon, even with the influence of my Control Towers."
Blademon blinked at the unexpected twist. "Are those the challenges you wanted, I suppose."
"Yes..." Then he turned to another screen, showing his Monochromon being released. "And that one... I need to confirm for myself what I'm seeing."
He took off his goggles, revealing his cold, purple eyes, and focused on the screen. He took a deep breath and let it flow.
'Gyo.'
White energy gathered around his eyes as he watched the footage again. And saw how the white haired boy had the same energy on his fist as he released his slave. The Emperor's grin widened. "I can't believe it, someone with the same powers as me?! He... Guess I finally will have someone to prove my superiority once and for all!' He thought with a wide grin.
From the entrance to the monitor room, a green insect Digimon watched as the Emperor watched those footages, with a worried frown. "Ken..."
Then both of them felt it.
They trembled as a wave of hate rolled over the room. The Emperor turned and watched the source of those feelings. "B-Blademon?!"
Blademon was griding his teeth as he watched the recording of the white haired boy freeing the slave. Not for the action itself, but by who did it. He regained his composure and turned around. "My Emperor, I will be at the colosseum fighting the weakest slaves to shape them up!" He growled.
Unsettled by his second in command's behavior. The Emperor just nodded. "Yeah... You do that..."
The insect Digimon, Wormmon, moved out of the way of the hooded Digimon, watching him with apprehension and fear.
Blademon was gripping his fist and grinding his teeth as the image of the boy was burned on his head. He knew who he was and what he has done to him. And soon... He will have his revenge. 'You'll pay for what you did... Killua Zoldyck!'
