Hey all!
I don't have much to say before the story, but I hope you enjoy the first chapter! Small Spoiler warning for Part 8 ahead of time, though, since I plan on including elements from later chapters as well.
The second chapter of this story is also basically done already, I'm just fixing up some of the errors in it, so it'll probably be up some time tomorrow. The title may or may not be a workin progress, I haven't decided if I like it or not yet.
I obviouslydon't own RWBY or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Anyways, here we go!

Yoshikage Kira awoke to the cold, hard pavement beneath him, a sharp pain in his side, a parched throat, a terrible headache, and the corner of the moon peeking out from the clouds above his head. He grunted in aggravation as he stood up. He looked down at his body to see that the large chunk that had been cut out on his yacht had returned, and his sailor's uniform was intact, which was what he had expected, since he was alive, and able to stand just fine. The pain was slowly beginning to subside, where the cut had been made, and his thoughts were beginning to get more coherent.
"Did Josefumi manage to drag me to the fruit? I'll have to thank him..." He thought. He took in his surroundings, seeing he was in an unfamiliar alleyway, opening into a wide, empty street. "Wherever he is right now. He wouldn't dump me in the middle of an alley while I'm bleeding out."
He stumbled out of the alley, looking up and down the road. Strange... he certainly hadn't seen anywhere in Morioh that looked like this. The buildings were mostly uniform, the tallest he could see only reached up to three stories high, and made of different colors of brick. It didn't look like the more modern architecture of Morioh. In fact, Kira thought it looked more like the older parts of New York City, built around the turn of the twentieth century, from when he visited his grandparents when he was young. Was he in America, somehow?
There were a few shops along the road, as well, and all of the signs were in English as he passed them, no sign of Japanese anywhere, as far as Kira could tell. Fortunately, thanks to his mother, he was mostly fluent. The shops seemed to be closed for the most part, he hadn't seen any clocks around to tell the time, and the clouds had passed completely over the moon already, so he wasn't exactly sure what time it was.
One shop at the end of the road appeared to be open, if the lights and shopkeep at the desk were any sign. He began walking towards it, the itch in his throat getting stronger as he continued. "Maybe they'll have some water." He thought, as he approached the door. The sign above it read "From Dust Till Dawn", a strange play on the phrase from dusk till dawn, at least to him.
He pushed the door open, the bell above it chiming as he stepped inside. It looked like a small convenience store on the inside, but the shelves were all lined with canisters or bags filled with different colored crystals, powders, and mixes of the two. The back of the store had a wall lined with the same colored powders, like candy dispensers at a super market. There were magazines he had never heard of on a rack at the end of one of the isles, the one at the top of the rack read "WEAPONS" in bold white text with, as one would guess, pictures of weapons covering the front.
The old shopkeep at the counter nodded and grunted toward Kira, a gesture which he returned. At the back of the store, a small figure in red was reading one of the magazines. He could slightly hear the music pouring out of the headphones they must've been wearing under their hood. He turned back to the shopkeep, and cleared his throat. "Do you happen to have any water?" He asked, a slight accent pouring through his words.
The shopkeep grunted again as he leaned underneath the counter and pulled out a small water bottle, one of those 8 fluid ounce ones, and tossed it to Kira. "Thank you," he nodded. He began patting his pockets, "I... don't think I have any money on me." He said, "Plus I don't think you'd accept yen here..."
The shopkeep once more grunted and waved his hand, mumbling something like "keep it" in a quiet voice. Kira opened it, and practically poured it straight down his throat, emptying the small bottle in seconds. He gulped the water down and tossed it in the trash can next to the door, before picking up one of the magazines to skim through, to see if he could pick up any information about where he was.
"Wherever I am, it's probably the work of one of those 'things' stands. Hopefully Josefumi is alright, too." He thought as he opened up the magazine. He began skimming the pages, looking for any keywords that could tell him where on earth he was, but he didn't find any. Some things seemed to hint at locations like 'New grains of burn dust being shipped out of Atlas...' or 'Weapons expo arriving in Vale...', but those weren't any places familiar to him, nor did he know what fire dust was. He continued looking through the magazine, and when the door chimed he thought nothing of it.
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a dust shop open this late?" Whoever entered asked the shopkeep. Kira heard what sounded like a gun being cocked, which set off all sorts of alarms in his head as he looked up from the magazine. In the reflection of one of the containers on the wall across from him, he could see a few men in matching black suits and red ties, as well as red sunglasses. They were all considerably larger, and the man in the lead wore a white coat and black bowler hat sitting atop bright orange hair, but he couldn't make out his face.
"Not my problem... yet." He kept an eye on them through the reflection. The black suits began sweeping the store, taking all the crystals and powder from the shelves, the walls, and the displays. He watched carefully in the reflection as one approached him from behind. With what looked to be a... sword raised?
"Hey, mister!" The suit called out to him, "Hands in the air! No funny business." Kira listened to him, closing the magazine and slowly raising his hands above his head.
"If you're planning on robbing me, you're shit out of luck." Kira plainly stated, still facing the wall.
"Empty your pockets." The suit ordered him.
"There's nothing in them, I don't see a point in it." Kira argued, glancing back at the man pointing a sword at his back.
"I don't care, pal! I said em-"
"Killer Queen!" Kira shouted, cutting the man off. A pink, gloved fist rocketed out from over Kira's right shoulder, driving straight into the man's nose and sending him crashing through the window. At the same time, one of the other thugs landed on his back by the front door, just before a red blur rocketed out the other window.
"What the hell was that?" Kira peered out the window, seeing the same person with the red cloak that was at the back of the store, a young girl, by the looks of it, hoisting a large red scythe on her shoulder, looking back at the shop with a smirk. Kira clambered out the window as she spun the scythe around and planted it in the pavement, facing the shop. She glanced at him and tilted her head.
"Same team," Kira said as he raised his hands. He stumbled onto the street and stood a few yards away from her. "Who the hell are these guys?"
"The white one looks like that Torchwick guy from the news," the girl answered in a high pitched voice, "I think the other ones are just regular old thugs."
Kira watched as Torchwick shouted at the black suits, "He's definitely in charge, yeah." The thugs began clambering out the store and in their direction. 3 of them began heading towards him, while the others went towards the girl. His stand, Killer Queen, silently appeared in front of him. The men weren't phased by it, "So they aren't stand users, I didn't think so. That makes this easier."
Killer Queen's bubbles began floating through the air in front of him, the stars on them spinning through the air. Killer Queen flicked one of the bubbles towards the first thug to approach him, it flew through the air, striking the man in the chest. The explosion it produced burnt a hole in the man's suit and sent the man flying through the air towards the other end of the street. He slid across the pavement, rolling onto his stomach and remained there. Kira watched as he struggled to push himself with his arms, only to collapse back to the ground.
Kira's brow scrunched, "A blast like that should have killed him... maybe the bubble detonated in the air too early."
The second thug to approach him was much more wary after watching his associate get sent through the air by an invisible force, but ultimately he also began charging Kira. Killer Queen stopped him in his tracks, the stand delivering a devastating blow to his jaw as he rocketed through the air to join his colleague on the ground.
The third thug was nowhere to be seen, but Kira suddenly heard the whistle of his sword cutting through the air from behind him. He dove to the left, narrowly missing a cut to his right shoulder from the red blade. He spun on his feet, his own fist flying towards the man face. As it slammed into the thug's face, one of Killer Queen's explosive bubbles began forming under the man's cheek, like how it did with that surfer, Ojiro.
It popped, spewing blood on the street as the thug collapsed backwards. He clutched the gaping wound beneath his left eye and whined in pain.
Kira looked down at his sneakers. There was a large splotch of red on one of them, "Wonderful..." he grumbled. He kicked the downed man in the side, "you got blood on my shoes."
He sighed and turned to face the girl who had to fight the rest of the thugs. All of them were strewn out along the road, out for the count, with the girl standing triumphantly in the road.
Torchwick sighed as he stepped onto the road. He looked down at the thug lying at his feet, "You were worth every cent, truly you were." He grumbled sarcastically. "Well, Red, Sailor Boy, I think we can all say it has been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd love to stick around," He raised the cane in his hand, the bottom flicking up into a sight, "I'm afraid this is where we part ways."
A large, bright flare shot through the air towards the two of them. Kira jumped to the sidewalk to avoid it, while the girl launched herself into the air, spinning vertically with the scythe in hand. The flare exploded, tearing a chunk out of the road and sending debris flying everywhere. Kira shielded his face as asphalt rained down on him.
When he looked back up, that Torchwick guy was nowhere to be seen. He glanced around, but the girl spotted him first, climbing up the ladder of a building a street or two down. "You okay if I go after him?" She asked the shopkeep, who had just stumbled out the front door. The man gave the same incoherent grumble he had given before. She sprinted towards the building, and Kira picked himself up off the sidewalk to follow.
"Damn, this kid is fast!" He grimaced as he ran up to the ladder, the girl, instead, shot herself up the side of the building with the recoil of the gun built into her scythe. He pulled himself over the edge of the building, just in time to see Torchwick clamber into some sort of VTOL airship. "End of the line, you two!" He triumphantly shouted, tossing a red crystal down onto the roof. He shot another one of his flares at it. Kira ducked and covered his head in response, Killer Queen instinctively appeared and shielded him. Kira felt the roof shake from the impact of the flare, but only felt a little heat from the blast, as if it didn't reach him.
He looked up to see a blonde woman towering over the girl in red, a purple glyph hovering in the air in front of her. "Is that some kind of stand?" It slowly disappeared, and the woman adjusted the glasses on her nose. She swung what appeared to be a riding crop through the air, and wisps of energy the same purple color shot out and flew towards the airship. It rocked in the air, but it didn't seem to do much damage. Torchwick vanished from sight in the airship, and the woman pulled out a small crystal, the color of which Kira couldn't see. She seemed to glow as she pointed the riding crop into the air above the airship as its engines were rotating forward to fly off. A beam of purple blasted forward, creating a storm above the ship. Ice spikes began raining down on it as the woman pulled the riding crop down towards her waist.
Killer Queen's bubbles began floating through the air towards the open door of the airship, as another figure appeared, obscured by shadow. Symbols began glowing on their dress, and they shot a blast of fire through the air, destroying Killer Queen's bubbles in the process.
Kira cursed as the fire slammed into the blonde woman's glyph. Magma spewed out on the ground behind it, and a large pillar of flame shot down on the woman, who quickly jumped out of the way. Using her strange ability, she reformed the cooling rock into a spike, and threw it at the ship, the figure inside blasted it with fire, but it stayed on its path. The ship lurched to the side, the spike skidding off the top and breaking in the air, the pieces surrounding the ship.
An orange blast encompassed the ship, destroying the shards in the air, before the ship began to fly off into the night.
The girl began firing her strange scythe-gun at the figure in the airship, but they seemed to deflect each shot.
The ground beneath their feet began to glow red hot, Kira's included, and he dove forward to avoid the blast, scraping his hands against the roof. He looked up to see the ship flying away.
He sighed as he stood up, brushing the pebbles off his knees. Just where in the hell was he?
"You're a huntress..." the girl said to the blonde woman in admiration, "can I have your autograph?!?" she squealed.
"And can I know wherever the hell I am?" Kira grumbled under his breath.
They both turned to face him, the woman finally noticing his presence. "Who might you be?" She asked him.
He cracked his fingers and stretched his arms above his head, before bringing them back down to his sides, "My name is Yoshikage Kira. Who are you?"

Kira sighed as he leaned his head back, hitting it against the back of the police van. Luckily, he wasn't in handcuffs, but the fidgety girl across from him was starting to get on his nerves. "Could you please stop doing that?" He complained while the girl kept bouncing her knees.
"S-sorry... I'm just... really nervous." She stammered. "I-I'm Ruby, by the way. You already said your name back there, s-so you don't have to introduce yourself. Nice to uh, meet you?"
"Mhm. A pleasure." He mumbled. He closed his eyes as the van continued driving towards the police station.
"That was really cool back there, the whole exploding bubbles thing. And that pink cat thingy! Where'd he come from?" The girl, Ruby, exclaimed. Kira's breath hitched, "Is that your semblance?!"
"Semblance?" He wondered, "Yeah, it is." He lied.
"That's so cool!" She shouted. "Mine just makes mereallyfastwhichisgrestbecauseIreally-"
She continued rambling at a pace far too fast for Kira to pay attention, throwing out nonsense and bullshit words that Kira was sure weren't real.
The van pulled to a stop, the door opened to the same blonde woman, who said her name was Glynda Goodwitch. "Like the Wizard of Oz?" Kira had thought.
"Come with me." She said to the two of them. Ruby and Kira looked at one another before exiting the van, and following her into the station.
"In here." She instructed Ruby, who gulped, and walked into the room. "You're in there." She pointed to an identical adjacent room.
He entered the room a metal table was at the center of the room, with two metal chairs on opposite sides. One of the chairs was occupied by a man with silver hair and dark green clothing. He turned to face Kira. His hair was deceptive, as the man was much younger than the light coloring of his hair suggested. The small spectacles on his nose didn't look like they had any use, either. "Ah, you must be Yoshikage Kira, correct?"
Kira nodded, "that's correct." The man motioned towards the seat across from him, and Kira walked over to the chair. He sat down, arms flat on the table in front of him. "And you are?"
"Professor Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy, it's a pleasure to meet you, Yoshikage." He extended an arm out to shake his hand, and Kira took it. "If you don't mind, I do have a few questions before we begin."
"I don't mind." Kira answered simply.
Ozpin nodded, "Alright then, first things first. Mister Kira, how old are you?"
"29 years old."
Ozpin tapped it out on the tablet in his hands, "Good, thank you. And, where are you from?"
"Morioh, Japan."
Ozpin paused for a moment, "You're quite a long way from home, Mister Kira."
"Yes, I figured that out a while ago, thank you." He grunted.
Ozpin placed the tablet down on the table. "Now, I've seen the footage from the dust store robbery, which you and Miss Rose stopped tonight. You're a very proficient fighter, Yoshikage. However..." He adjusted the spectacles on his nose, "I noticed something quite peculiar." He turned the tablet around to face Kira, and pressed play on the video. It was taken from behind him, when he first blew the thug away with one of Killer Queen's bubbles. The stand was not visible in the footage, at least not fully, the stand seemed to be a few hazy pixels and blurry spots on the camera. "Now... from the way you fight, I'm quite sure you're a stand user. That's a given, based on the artifacts in the footage, but, one thing I would like to take a look at is..."
He paused in and zoomed in on the back of Kira's neck, right behind his collar bone. "That birthmark, may I see it?"
