Uhhhh…*awkwardly smiles* hi? Okay, so this is a sequel to Impossible Mortals, and this is again a cliché about a mortal crushing on Percy. I like those, okay? So, anyway, on with the story? BTW, this is a month after the Mark drama. Don't ask me to explain the timeline. I don't know it.

Chapter 1

Kristine (Kristie) P.O.V

Hi. I'm Kristie, a socially awkward high schooler. I have short wavy strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes and tanned skin. Pretty, by my standards, which are pretty low, but whatever. I'm not one of those girly-girls who wear tons of makeup and have fake EVERYTHING and are rich and obsess over boys. Nope. I am a tomboy. I love to swim and read, which is an understatement. I am OBSESSED with books. I prefer hanging out in the pool or library to chatting trash about other people with snobby girls.

So I was very surprised when, on my very first day in my new school, I made a pretty cool friend.

It was after school, for the swim team tryouts. I wanted to join it, because I loved swimming, and I may just fit in for once. I changed out of my jeans and my if we burn you burn with us t-shirt into a green one-piece with three birds printed on the left shoulder. Hey, told you I was obsessed.

We had to swim four laps, and the ten fastest swimmers would be selected. I was confident as well as nervous. The two-dozen people were split into two batches, and I was in the second.

When my turn came, the guy on my right looked over and smiled at me and wished me good luck. My heart fluttered. He was good looking, with raven black hair and gorgeous sea green eyes. He was tanned and muscular. He must be one of the popular guys, I thought to myself. I don't stand a chance.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee! The whistle blew, and I jumped into the pool and swam as fast as I could. The four laps were quickly over. I climbed out, soaking and panting, but glad to see that I was second. In first place was the guy who wished me good luck, whom the coach was praising. Butterflies were in my stomach when he looked back and smiled.

I smiled back. When coach was done talking to him, I took a leap of courage and walked over to him.

''Hi, my name's Kristie. You were swimming so fast. I've never seen anyone swim so fast. You were pretty cool,'' I said nervously.

He laughed. ''Thanks, Kristie. You were not bad yourself,''

''Nah, I was nothing compared to you,''

''Nope. I'm not believing that. You were a very close second.''

''Thanks, but its not true. Anyway, I gotta change. See you later?'''

''Yeah, sure. Oh, and I'm Percy, Percy Jackson.''

I nodded and smiled and walked away to change, butterflies going crazy in my stomach. Percy seemed cool, not stuck up, and he thought I was cool. This was a very good start.

-line break-

I sat down on the seats beside Percy, not too close but enough so I could talk to him. Coach announced, ''Settle down! Here are the people who are in the swim team: Caden, Ross, Thomas, Kristine,'' I was in! Yay! ''Percy, Jett, Ronald, Fred, Emily and Jessica. Whoever didn't make it, don't cry in front of me. Heck, don't cry at all. I'm going to work the swim team hard. Anyways, the captain is going to be Percy. I ain't taking complaints. Now shuffle off,''

I looked at Percy as I got up. ''Congrats! I have a feeling you're going to be a great captain.''

''I hope so. Thanks, anyway,'' he replied, smiling. ''Can I see your schedule?''

''Sure. Here, somewhere… aha! Here you go,'' I dug out my schedule and showed it to him.

''We have… biology, English and Greek together. Cool! So, see ya tomorrow?''

''Sure!''

'' 'k, bye!'' he called to me as he walked away. I decide that this qualified as friends. This was a really good start. I just hope he doesn't have a girlfriend…

Done! So are you liking it? please review!

Always crazy,
