A/N: This is for the five drabbles competition round three. The pairing is Charlie/Lavender and the prompt is daffodils.
Lavender brought the bunch of daffodils to her nose and inhaled deeply. They smelt of vanilla with a little trace of jasmine, and reminded her of Easter and happiness.
Charlie Weasley had sent them this morning with a note saying that he'd had a wonderful time and would she like to go out with him again.
I wonder if he knows what they mean, she thought.
The meaning of flowers was something she had been interested in since she was young, and she'd found that each flower had different meanings in different cultures. Not only that, but it also depended on the amount of the flowers sent which also impacted on it.
The fact that Charlie had sent a whole bunch meant joy and happiness. They also represented new beginnings, and regard, which was more than relevant to them.
Neither of them had been in a serious relationship before, and Lavender was excited to see where things would go between her and Charlie, and hoped it would last.
