One day, I was isekai'd.

Yeah, just like that.

I was just messing around with my computer when, somehow, I found myself outside, in a countryside, including the chair I was sitting in.

Blinking, I could only let out an "Uh?" like an idiot. I mean, how else would you react to being mysteriously kidnapped, still in a seat mind you, to an open field when you were previously in an apartment at the tenth floor, in the middle of the city, with a global pandemic going on?

Looking down, my confusion grew more when I saw the transformation devices of Kamen Rider Build: Build and Sclash Drivers, Fullbottles, Sclashjelly, Hazard Trigger, and even the Cross-Z Dragon and Magma Knuckle! Now that I think about it, those are Ryuga Banjo's things, supported even more with the Dragon derived bottles (and the Lock one too) and jelly. Heck, the Muscle Galaxy one is here too!

And I didn't even buy those, not even thought of doing so!

Then I realised, sudden inexplicable teleportation with even more inexplicable.

"Oooh no."

Nope, nope, nope.

That's not happening.

I took the Cross-Z Dragon, shook the Dragon Fullbottle and opened it, making a worryingly familiar ching sound.

One second of indecision after, I plunged the bottle into the mechanical dragon.

WAKE UP!

Which began to move and screech just like the AI-controlled transformation trinket in the show. It even flies.

"Fuck me sideways."

I didn't mind the ground possibly dirtying my clothes when I laid down. I just discovered that I was truly isekai'd, in the same manner a Kamen Rider Self-Insert would.

Now, don't get me wrong. Travelling to another world and wielding superhero powers is one of the greatest fantasies us nerds, weebs, otakus and geeks would dream of. However, there is the fact this is real life, at least for me. And reality is merciless.

Heck, deconstructions are made by applying realist outcomes to tell why certain tropes would completely not work outside fiction, at least not without suspension of disbelief.

For example, I'm given all the power of a hero as well as his legacy. That means I would have to suffer tragedy after tragedy as well as an uninterrupted life of battle until I die or retire. And abandoning could very well spell the end of the world.

And the bad thing about isekais? If you don't end up with an OP cheat or it's a really phony one you can't take profit of, then you'll have to experience it as a completely normal human with just brains and body, which would be difficult or not depending if you're in a crapsack world or not. And even then, society there could be as alien for you as you to them, up and including language, money and probably diseases.

… please, don't let diseases be the death of me.

Oh, and there's the possibility the bad guys are immensely powerful, even more than the main characters, which would, most usually, in the world being conquered or destroyed.

Though that depends on the world's power levels. For example, Faiz was one of the weakest ones of the Kamen Rider series while Build was one of the strongest, barring Decade and Zi-O and possibly Ex-Aid.

"At least, I can defend myself. If it works."

Putting the Build Driver in my waist, I felt the belt appearing, another proof that this is real.

I called towards the robo dragon "Hey buddy, could you allow me to transform please?"

I may not be good at reading animal expressions (much less robots) but swear it looked at me incredulous, then it shrugged with its wings (somehow) and folded up itself, allowing me to insert it to the Driver.

CROSS-Z DRAGON!

Well, so far it works. Now I only have to crank it…

"AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGHHHH!"

It hurts! It fucking hurts! I cried when my nerves were hit with electricity.

I fell to the ground, full of pain. The Cross-Z Dragon flying up squeaking.

"Why didn't you tell me anything?!"

The dragon's glowing eyes squinted in something akin to deadpan and shook its head as if saying 'You didn't ask'.

"Yeah, maybe I should have thought it better."

I spent a few minutes recovering. At that time, I remembered something.

In the Build universe, there was a term called Hazard Level which indicates the resistance to Nebula Gas, the Rider's plebothinum of that season, as well as the capacity to extract power from it. A minimum was required to use the Build Driver, as well as the more advanced forms.

"What was the minimum Hazard Level required?"

3

The Dragon said to me. Thanks buddy.

"And what's my current Level?"

2.2

Uh, thought it would be lower. And then I remember an even lower Hazard would have transformed into a mindless Smash monster or just killed me in the act.

Yay, me. I performed my first idiotic action in this new world and I nearly died for it if it weren't for the security system, though that could have killed me too. Why did Katsuragi program a taser instead of just simply not make it work?!

Absentmindedly stroking my beard, a habit of mine, I discovered another thing: I don't have a beard right now.

I'm too lazy to shave or trim it every day so I usually let it grow until it becomes nearly as long as my hair. And I'm sure I didn't shave it today.

Searching for my phone (thank God I forgot to take it out of the pocket!), I used its camera application as a mirror.

By the way, my iPhone has a cover like the Build Phone. Which I did NOT put on.

I also don't remember my hair being ginger. It was supposed to be dark brown!

And my face also seemed… younger, I think? A while comparing photos from the gallery approximated my age to around my middle-teens give or take instead of my early twenties. Well, I don't think I would have problems with my clothes, I always leaned for the slender build.

Sighing once again I thought about everything so far. A ROB or something similar transported me to a probable unknown world with the gadgets of a Kamen Rider while altering my body, probably to allow me to transform, I'm not sure. I've once read about a Build double SI that had its protagonists with their hair and eyes changed, though they at least had Hazard Level of 3 at the beginning.

Lucky bastards.

At least, Hazard Level can be increased through constant exposure to Nebula Gas and strong emotions, kinda like a Shonen, actually.

So theoretically, as long as I use Fullbottles and I am motivated (or have an emotional overload), I will eventually be able to transform into Cross-Z!

So! Putting everything into the backpack that was also transported, I set forth to whatever the hell I should go in this brave new world.

But what should I do with the chair?

Meh, I can't leave it to waste, it's a good chair.

Uh, it's also lighter than I remember.

Somewhere, a burning crucifix shined bright blue for a moment, while a dragon roar was heard…

AN: Nearly obligatory Kamen Rider Self-Insert. Finished Build, beginning with the light novels.

Ciao.
