A magical field
Brown hazel eyes settle on a delicate flower blowing within the spring breeze. She adored spring and loved watching things come to life after a cold frost.
She had spent her first year amongst humans where her lord had left her. She didn't mind as he often visited her gifting her beautiful kimonos all year long and making sure she is taken care of at all time.
Plus there was his ever lasting promise to always be there. It kept her heart from sinking into darkness like when she was left alone by her family at the attack of greedy and heartless bandits.
She felt content simply sitting on the hill overlooking the field her lord always appeared in. It would blossom full of wild flowers soon, and smell of grass and crisp water from the small clear stream that flowed between the large smooth stones.
She loved and adored this meadow not for it's beauty all year round. But for the gifts it brought her once sometimes twice a month. She would sometimes have the free time to await him, others she'd be busy doing chores or assisting Lady Kaede with her medicinal works, which left her finding a gift in her new humble home.
Lord Sesshomaru never stood long enough to await her if she was busy, but if she was free he would take the time to speak with her and sit with her for short moments in this beautiful field.
"Hey kid, what are you doing out here?" A shrewd familiar voice called out from the once named Inuyashas forest.
"Hello lord Inuyasha!" Rin waved and gave her large warming smile.
Rin can see that the half demon wore a broken look but decided not to question it. She knew he was coming back from the bone eaters well where he would wait for the return of his beloved Kagome. No one spoke about her anymore since the defeat of Naraku one year ago.
"I told you before to cut it out with the lord crap. And what are you doing out here ya idiot? Don't you know a demon can come by any minute to snatch you up?" Inuyasha spoke with his hands tucked into his red haori sleeves.
Rin smiled larger with closed eyes of laughter. "That's what I'm hoping for." Rin giggled.
"Oh I get it your waiting for my jackass brother to come?" Inuyasha took a seat next to her removing his sword tessaiga from his waist and holding it comfortably against his shoulder.
"Don't talk about lord Sesshomaru that way!" Rin jumped him and pulled on his ears. "Take it back and apologize!" Rin argued.
"Gahh!! Get off of me! Agh! Let go of my ears you little brat! Aghhh!" Inuyasha yelped as he playfully wrestled with Rin on top of him.
Suddenly a small sharp pebble came flying toward his head. "Ow! What the hell was that?!" Inuyasha jumped up looking where it came from.
"Huh! Lord Sesshomaru! I'm so happy to see you my lord!" Rin jumped in excitement and bowed respectfully to the demon she loved and admired so.
"Jerk what the hell was that for!" Inuyasha got into a battle stance toward Sesshomaru when another pebble struck him again. "Gahh!" Inuyasha yelled as it hit him dead center in his forehead.
Rin giggled at the site before her.
"Inuyasha, your just as pathetic as always. I see you've taken to fighting someone your own skill set. A defenseless little girl." Sesshomaru mocked as he approached Rin.
"Why don't you take out your sword and we'll see who the defenseless girl really is!?" Inuyasha growled.
Sesshomaru gave a threatening glare. "I have no need to best you for the upteenth time. Leave!" Sesshomaru threatened.
Rin smiled as she looked in Inuyashas direction. "Goodbye Inuyasha." Rin giggled as she stood by Sesshomarus side.
"Hmph, whatever. I already know I can beat you anyway. I'm just letting it go for the kids sake." Inuyasha said as he walked back to the simple village he and Rin were now residents of.
Rin looked up at her angelic lord. She found it extremely ironic that for him being a demon she would often refer to him as an angel to others.
"You look well Lord Sesshomaru. How have your adventures been?" Rin asked happily. She was 9 years old and full of happy giddy energy.
"They have faired well thus far. You seem well. How have you been fairing?" Sesshomaru asked as he took a seat under a large oak tree.
"Really well! I have been learning from lady Kaede and Jinenji about medicinal herbs, and I've finished the three books you left for me!" Rin said excitedly.
"Hm, I will have to remember to bring you more. I am shocked you have finished them all so quickly." Sesshomaru said watching the young girl kick her feet in the clear stream near by.
"I quite enjoyed them lord Sesshomaru! Especially the one about the stars!." Rin said looking back to her lord watching her.
"Jaken!" Sesshomaru spoke firmly yet quietly.
The dawdling little toad tripped as he began to run to Sesshomarus calling. "Dwah! Oh-ugh yes mi lord!" Jaken said holding himself up by the staff in his hands.
"Bring Rins gift to her cottage, and retrieve the books I have left her last visit." Sesshomaru said with his calm stoic voice.
"Yes mi lord! Right away mi lord!" Jaken scrambled to complete the task given to him.
Rin giggled silently and walked over to Sesshomaru to have a seat beside him. "Thank you my lord. I appreciate whatever kindnesses my lord bestows upon me." Rin looked up at him smiling.
"You have yet to see it. Perhaps it is a distasteful material or item of grotesque nature such as the decapitated limb of a creature." Sesshomaru teased while keeping his calm demeanor.
Rin looked and laughed at her lords words. "It can never be grotesque because my lord has the finest taste in all the lands. And if it is a limb I am even more grateful! My lord has blessed me with his most recent claimed victory! And I am forever grateful for my lords limitless victories!" Rin smiled knowing she had won their little game they often played.
"Hm, that is only true if I were indeed the one to choose it. Perhaps Jaken decided on this gift." Sesshomaru looked slyly to the young energetic girl.
"Hmm? That's a tough one.. Well. That is only to assume my lord would not choose the gift personally, which I know he would never send master Jaken for such personal things. My gifts are always chosen with the utmost consideration. I can tell." Rin looked back and gave her victorious smile.
Sesshomaru revealed his small grin at her victory. "I yield this time. Only because I made the mistake of Jaken capable to choose anything worth of my time." Sesshomaru continued to look deep into her brown eyes as they shined with joy and life.
"You give master Jaken such little credit my lord. You may be surprised by him one day." Rin said teasingly.
The sun was beginning to set as the two enjoyed their silent time together, and she knew her lord would be leaving the moment Jaken reappeared.
"Lord Sesshomaru... I am more than grateful for everything you do for me, and I love the time I've spent here my lord... but I truly do miss being with you my lord. And of course master Jaken and Ah-un." Rin became melancholy when she spoke.
Sesshomaru sat her upright in front of him. "We have had this discussion before Rin. When it is the appropriate time you may choose to follow me again. For now you remaining here is the best option for you." Sesshomaru spoke these words with difficulty, watching the joy and happiness slowly leave her brown hazel eyes.
"I know I just..." Rin was interrupted by an annoying voice in the distance.
"Lord Sesshomaru! I have retrieved everything and left Rins gift as you commanded mi lord! Might I suggest we take Ah-un? These books are rather heavy...?" Jaken said as he toppled over with two books falling on his bald green head.
"I must go. You should be heading back as well." Sesshomaru said as he stood, his face as emotionless as always.
"Yes, of course my lord. Farewell master Jaken! Give Ah-un a kiss for me!" Rin waved to her friend.
"I will do no such thing you silly girl!!" Jaken spat back. "Lord Sesshomaru wait for me!!" Jaken scurried away to catch up to the retreating dog demon.
Rin missed the days where she and master Jaken would race and tease each other. She missed even more the nights where she'd fall asleep to a warm campfire beside her beloved lord Sesshomaru.
Until next time lord Sesshomaru. I will miss you most. Rin thought as she made her way through her magical field and back home.
A/N I did not wish to start a new story while I'm in the middle of one. But I simply can't get the stories of Rin and Sesshomaru out of my head. I might start on story's about their kids sooner as well. All my story's will lead into each other and some plots will change from the anime. Hope yous enjoy this small bit, reviews and critiques are always appreciated.
