Chapter Fourteen
Halphas, The Armory
The day had passed as it was a brand new day for the students of U.A High School. Students were once again making their way into the school to begin their classes for becoming the next up and coming heroes...well some of them are making their way into the school. Lily along with the students of Class 1-A were riding inside of a bus as everyone was in their hero costumes, minus Lily for reasons of going against how the school dress code was...and because she liked to tease some of the boys in the school. While the students were talking to each other and occasionally making fun of Bakugo's over confident and trashy personality. Lily spoke up after letting out a sigh of boredom and from waking up from her sleep.
"So is there a reason why we're going to someplace in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere?" Lily asked as she heard Aizawa speak up.
"Weren't you paying attention to what I said this morning?"
"You and I both know that I'm not paying attention to what you said yesterday. Mainly because I fell asleep during the end part of the class."
"...I dislike you...you know that?"
"Pretty sure we both made it clear we dislike each other."
"Then you can wait until we get to where we need to go." He said before looking at the other students. "No one tells her or else you will be punished for it."
"...Fucking prick. I'll be sure to remember that later on when you're in trouble." Lily thought before moving over to where Momo was sitting.
"In fairness, you shouldn't have slept during his lecture." Momo said as Lily glared at her. "You can be angry at me all you want, but you know it's true~"
"Shut it smartass. I don't need to be reminded of my fuck up...but still worth it just to piss him off."
"You know, for the past two days. You and Aizawa have been at each other's throat." Tsuyu said as Lily turned her attention onto the frog girl. "Is there a reason behind it?"
"I'm a villain to the eyes of hero society. He's a pro-hero who made it clear that he didn't like me the moment we met. So why should I show respect for a guy who already made it clear that he will have no problem sending my ass to prison if I make a mistake."
"And doing passive aggressive stuff really helps." Tokoyami said sarcastically as Lily rolled her eyes.
"The point being unless he's going to be nice towards me, then I'll keep being an ass towards him. End of the conversation." She said before leaning back in her seat.
"There's something I've been meaning to ask Lily." Tsuyu said as the bunny girl looked over at her. "What is your quirk?"
"That is a good question." Kaminari said as he chims in on the conversation. "I bet it's lasers isn't it?"
"But what about those weird bunny things she made from metal? Wouldn't she have a double quirk in one like Todoroki?" Sero asked.
"Her quirk is elemental manipulation." Midoriya said as everyone looked over at him. "At least that's what I can assume it is. So far from what you showed during the training course two days ago, you could manipulate metal, fire off a plasma beam which is condensed of highly pressured lightning or fire, you also made some kind of invisible weapon out of wind, and not to mention that dome that melted Todoroki's ice was made out of fire."
"So your quirk is elemental manipulation!?" Mina asked as Lily smirked and shook her head.
"Nice assumption and hypothesis, but you are way off on that."
"Then what is your quirk?" Hagakure asked.
"Flight." Lily said as she levitated a bit from her seat. "Makes it really easy to fly around from place to place."
"I call bullshit on that." Bakugo said as the bunny girl looked over at him. "You expect us to believe that's your quirk after mopping the floor with some of the extras in class?"
"Believe what you want, ego problem boy." She said before feeling her ability to fly go away as she lands back onto her seat. The bunny girl looks over at Aizawa who activates his quirk to cancel out her quirk. "Oh course you would do that."
"You're not allowed to use your quirk while on the bus. What if this bus were to crash while you were still floating?"
"Yeah cause we're going to crash at the speed the bus is going. Which if you haven't noticed, stopped in front of a stop light." Lily said as she pointed over at the front of the bus as it was in front of a traffic light which was red. "Yeah, now who feels stupid, dumbass."
"If you do that again, I'll be sure to tell Principal Nezu about your behavior."
"You can do that. But I'll be sure to inform him that you've been singling me out for the past two days while I've been here. And before you say anything, I do have proof of that via a recording gem." Lily said as she reached into her tail to pull out a blue gemstone which shows what she meant. "So far almost every question you ask, you choose to ignore someone with the answer and go to me which I don't have the answer to. And this is when I am paying attention to your lectures. I may be a villain in your eyes, but I know unfairness and discrimination towards someone that isn't part of your hero society. Now if Principal Nezu ends up siding with you, I can always give it to the gossipy news reporters that's been snooping around school. I'm sure they'll have a field day with you and the school~"
There was an awkward silence in the air due to the tenseness between Lily and Aizawa as the other students of 1-A looked between the two. It was almost like a showdown between two cowboys in a western movie. The two glared at each other for a moment before they felt the bus stop in front of a large & wide building as the bus driver spoke.
"We're here." He said with a silent sigh of relief upon reaching the destination and hoping that the tension between the two dies off as they leave.
"Well be heading inside to begin your lesson. Be sure to pay close attention to my instructions." Aizawa said as he glared at Lily for a moment before motioning them to follow after him as he got off the bus.
"I really dislike him." Lily said as she noticed her classmates following after Aizawa as she did the same. Just as she was following them, she felt someone tap her on the shoulder as the bunny girl looked over at her.
"The gem you have...does that really have a recording device?" Mina asked as Lily waved a hand sideways a bit.
"Not a device, just something that I can do with my quirk." She said which caused Mina to pout a bit at her in annoyance.
"Okay, seriously. What's your quirk!? You're like an enigma of some kind! Is your quirk some kind of psychic ability?"
"Nope."
"Wish making?"
"Nope."
"Um….Dream wishing?"
"Is that even a quirk?" Lily asked as she felt Mina shake her in dramatic fashion.
"Come on! Tell meeeeeeeeeee! I want to know!" She whined as Lily couldn't help but smirk from the humor of Mina's childish behavior. "Aren't we friends? Best friends tell each other secrets, no?"
"To some degree, yes." Lily said as it caused her to ponder the idea of telling her the truth about her powers. There were a few risks to this like the pro-heroes might try and pressure her to tell them or worse...but then again, this might be the perfect chance to see how loyal of a friend she along with certain people in class 1-A were. So might as well give this a shot. "Tell you what. I'll tell you about my quirk after class. Think of it as...a means of trusting you and what not."
"Wait, seriously!?" Mina yelled as Lily quickly covered her mouth.
"But you can't tell anyone else. Got it?" She asked, causing Mina to slowly nod as the bunny girl removed her hand off of Mina's mouth. "Good, then we have a deal in a way."
"Awesome! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone else."
"I'll keep you to it." She said as they entered the building. Upon entering, they would find themselves in a large area with a lot of large areas that look like they were suited for damage in different areas. Ranging from city, to ocean, to abandoned factories. Lily had to admit, this place looks pretty impressive for the most part, but she wondered as to why bring them to a place like this.
"Hello everyone. I've been waiting for you." Lily's attention was soon drawn over to her left as she saw a person wearing what she could guess was a spaceman's space suit.
"Whoa, it's the space hero thirteen. The chivalrous pro who's rescued a ton of people from disasters from across the world." Midoriya said as the students stared in awe at thirteen.
"Woohoo! Thirteen is one of my favorite heroes!" Uraraka said as Lily simply rolled her eyes at their reaction
"A shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a wind storm, etc. I created this training facility to prepare you to deal with different types of disasters. I call it the unforeseen simulation joint. But you can call it USJ!"
"Like Universal studios japan...I'm pretty sure they can sue your ass for using the initials like that." Lily said as it caused Thirteen to flinch a bit.
"Well...yeah...I just figure it would sound cool, you know?" She said while playing with her fingers a bit.
"Hey, shouldn't All Might be here?" Aizawa said as he walked over to Thirteen.
"He's currently out of commission for a good couple of hours." Thirteen said as he whispered to Aizawa. "Apparently he did too much hero work on the way to school this morning and used up all his power. He's resting in the teacher's lounge."
"That man is the height of irresponsibility." Aizawa said with a sigh of disappointment. "Well we should be okay with just the two of us. The clock's ticking. We should get started with the rescue exercise."
"He's not wrong about All Might. For a guy who's supposed to be a teacher, he's not doing a good job at it."
"I'm not surprised by this. Though I am more surprised that they are talking about this within earshot of someone with good hearing."
"Another mistake given your reputation as the villain killer."
"It's not my fault I'm like this. Blame society~" Lily said in a teasing tone before noticing Thirteen demonstrating her power as she made a nearby bush turn to dust from her sucking up the bush with one of her fingers. "Huh, so that's what her quirk does...not bad...but also dangerous."
"I doubt her attack can handle a beam that's the size of this building."
"True, not to mention she's more built for rescuing, not fighting. So if she were to come after us once we're done here, I can easily take her-" Before Lily could finish her statement, a sense of dread, doom, and bloodlust washed over her like a wave hitting a person on the beach. She could feel a combination of things happening to her body. Fear, anxiety, madness, and the urge to run away from the danger she felt coming. Sweat began to come off her body as she pants from the feeling she was getting.
"Hey, are you okay?" Mineta asked which snapped Lily from out of her daze as she noticed everyone looking at her. The bunny girl slowly began to regain her composure before summoning up her armor with a serious expression on her face.
"Something's coming..." The moment she said that, the lights within the USJ started to flicker on and off repeatedly like a christmas tree light with flickering light to make a pattern. Soon all the lights within the USJ turned off as a red ominous portal appeared from the center of the building. From the giant portal came a pillar with red gem-like eyes on its white pale body and red crystals surrounding the base of its body. The moment the lights turned back in, the demon god pillar looked around at its surroundings before locking eyes with Lily and the others.
"Ha…..Hahaha….Hahahaha!" Halphas laughed upon seeing the group. "So you're the humans of this world? What interesting creatures you all are. You barely have any magic within you, yet you have powers that could rival that of magus."
"W-What the hell is that thing!?" Mineta asked as he and his classmates stared at the strange creature that spoke in shock and horror.
"...That's the beast...isn't it Artoria?" Lily asked as the divine spirit shook her head mentally.
"No, but he serves under the beast. His name is Halphas. The demon god pillar that supplies weapons and ammunition to the other pillars. In a sense...he along with the nine pillars that serve him crave war." Artoria said as Lily felt a surge of magic flowing through her body. "I'm releasing the restraints I've placed throughout your magic circuits. This is the only exception that I'm making. Afterwards, the restraints will go back on. Got it?"
"Got it." Lily said as she was about to charge at Halphas, but stopped upon seeing Aizawa stand in front of the group in a protective manner. She soon looked over at him as she saw a fearful expression on his face that he was trying his best to hide it from the other students.
"We need to leave. Thirteen, take the kids and-" Before Aizawa could finish, the entrance to the USJ was sealed off by tentacles similar to that of Halphas.
"How rude. Don't you know it's impolite to leave when someone is talking to you. Especially when they can kill you with little then a thought." The demon pillar said as it caused Aizawa to focus his attention onto him. Upon looking at him, his eyes glowed red and his hair standing up as he tried to deactivate his quirk. But in doing so, nothing happened as he looked over at the blocked entrance.
"Thirteen, can you get close to the door and get those things from off of it?"
"I-I can try, but I need to get close to the door without that...thing noticing me." She said before looking at the demon pillar. "It looks like it can talk and understand human language. See if you can distract it by talking to it." Thirteen suggested as Aizawa nodded. While the two pro-heroes discussed their plan to each other. The students talked among each other as to wondering what that creature was.
"I-I'm not the only one getting chills down their spines am I?" Sato asked as he noticed some of his classmates nodding in fear.
"What is that thing? How was it able to sneak into the USJ like that without tripping any type of alarms?" Midoriya asked as he analyzed the demon pillar. "Could it be that it has some kind of quirk that allows it to warp?"
"I get it's just some villain with a stupid quirk that allows him to look like that. All bark and no bite." Bakugo said as Kirishima spoke.
"I don't know. It doesn't look like it's an illusion or something. Looking at it is just giving me an uncomfortable feeling like we need to get out of here."
"Tsh, weakling, you shouldn't be afraid of villains. Especially with something that looks like you can just knock it out with just." While each student talked to each other, Momo and Mina walked over to Lily mainly to see if she was okay.
"Lily, you okay?" Mina asked as she placed a hand on the bunny girl's shoulder. Lily flinched a bit from feeling Mina touch her as she looked over at the pink girl with a serious/worried expression on her face.
"At the moment, I'm on edge. Mainly because of the monster in the middle of the USJ."
"I-I'm sure Aizawa and Thirteen will think of a way to take down the villain." Momo said as Lily shook her head once again.
"No...no they can not."
"What do you mean by that?" Iida said as he along with some of the students looked over at Lily.
"I can understand that most of you might not sense this given how you're not in tune with certain parts of your animal traits or human sense. But every sense that I have is saying to get the hell away from it and not look back."
"Seriously? You're scared of that thing?" Bakugo said as a smirk appeared on his face. "It doesn't even look like a threat."
"Then you're an idiot if you can't sense it or know that we're in danger." Lily said as she looked back at Aizawa carefully making his way towards Halphas. Once the pro hero was within range of Halphas, the pro hero's eyes glowed again in an attempt to deactivate his quirk that he assumed he had. But once again, nothing changed.
"So...you're some human with a quirk that can disguise your appearance." Aizawa said as it caused Halphas to cry out in laughter.
"Don't make me laugh, human. You think I would disguise myself with the skin of the very being I hate? No, unlike the others, I prefer to make myself visible to all."
"Who...or what are you?"
"I am Halphas. One of the seventy-two demon god pillars of Goetia. I along with nine of the pillars govern over the armory of Goetia. Furfur, Marchosias, Stolas, Phenex, Malphas, Raum, Focalor, and Vepar."
"What is it that you want?"
"To bring about the end of this world of hypocrisy made by heroes like you." The demon pillar said as it took Aizawa and the others by surprise. "We have been around and watch as this world slowly becomes nothing more than a disgrace to the word hero. Hero popularity votes, sell merchandise of your heroes of this generation, relying on heroes that only care about money, power, and fame. This ideal world of false heroes must come to an end. And we, the seventy-two demons will bring an end to it. For we declare war upon this world, and you all will be proof of our declaration of it with your blood."
"If you think I'm going to let you rob these children of their future, then you're surely mistaken, monster." Aizawa said as he noticed one of Halphas eyes glowing. He was about ready to dodge whatever attack he was about to dishout, only for him to notice a beam shooting past him and the students as it headed towards Thirteen. The moment the beam made contact with her, the upper part of her body disintegrated into nothing. Blood soon shot out from where her upper body used to be as her bottom part fell to the ground.
"THIRTEEN!" Uaraka screamed as some of the students screamed, gasped in horror, or were silently stunned by what they just saw.
"Heh, the sounds of humans screaming in terror is like calm relaxing music~" Halphas said before focusing his attention onto Aizawa as all the eyes on his body began to glow. "Lets see how long you'll last surviving against me human before I go after the children and the Grand Servant. Shall we~?"
