Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Scotland, 11/6/1975, 19:00

Harry had just finished up the first ever Defense club meeting, he couldn't handle these numbers and still teach fourth through seventh years efficiently . It was good he had a meeting with Dumbledore because he was going to split the group in half 'Pre-O.W.L' would be Thursday at normal time.

Wednesday from three until dinner would be when he would teach the 'Post-O.W.L' Defense club'.

Harry snorted out loud at the name 'Post-Owl Defense club' he might have to rethink it. Maybe 'Advanced Defence Club' that way it didn't sound like he was running an 'Owl fight Club' or something.

Yes that's it Advanced Defence on Wednesday's and Defense on Thursdays. That way he wasn't holding back the N.E.W.T students. His planning was interrupted by a knock on the door. Checking his watch and seeing he had seven minutes before his meeting with Dumbledore, he went and opened the door. James Potter was there smiling at him.

"Can I have a word Professor?"

James asked cheerily.

"You have seven minutes between here an the Headmaster office." Harry told him simply and started walking out the door.

James shook his head before hurrying to catch up with his Professor " How is Lily doing Professor? I seen what happened in the to her family in the 'Dailey Prophet'." James asked concerned.

Harry nodded he had read the paper this morning and Barnabas Cuffe had definitely made himself some enemies, Harry headed down the main staircase the Gargoyle was on the fifth floor this year.

"She's still very upset, but she is getting better." Harry told the teen.

Which was true about the deaths of her family, she would still break down in tears at random moments. Today she had been fine for the most part and had gotten to know the kids while Harry finally got some sleep. Her and Andromeda watched them and seemed to be getting along well.

There was some awkwardness between himself and Lily as she was still getting over the fact that Harry was her son. Harry hoped this would fade soon once she got used to it.

"So you are her guardian now?" James asked cutting into his musings.

"Yes Mr. Potter I am, why do you ask?" Harry asked.

"Well I just wanted to make sure she had a place to live, If she didn't I was going to speak to my parents about her staying with us." James said seriously.

Harry snorted imagining Lily's reaction to some Ministry official telling her she had nowhere to live and the Potter's had agreed to take her in.

"I think that is a terrible Idea, while your heart is in the right place, do you really see that going well Mr. Potter?" Harry asked incredulously.

"Well it's just that I really like Lily and she has never even given me a chance, I just thought it might help her get to know me and see that I'm not a jerk" James said his cheeks tinged pink.

"You want to know the secret to getting her to give you a chance?" harry asked.

"I am all ears professor!" James practically shouted.

Harry turned and looked at James as they came to a stop in front of the gargoyle.

"Quit being a dick to her friend" harry said bluntly before saying "Turkish Delights" and watched as the Gargoyle leapt aside before stepping on to the moving staircase, leaving a gaping James Potter standing there.

Grifindor Common Room

James entered the common room in a daze he spotted Sirius longing on a couch by the fireplace and made his over before plopping down beside him.

"So how did it go Prongs" Sirius asked cheerfully'

"Well Professor Black is Lily's guardian" James said quietly.

"Sirius snorted and then said "I feel sorry for the poor sod who tries to date her now."

"why do you say that Padfoot?" James asked worriedly.

Sirius just grinned wider "He is the most protective bastard I've ever met, His daughter is going to have a hard time finding anyone to date her. I can't really blame them, you seen what he did to the spiders. I mean how would you want to face a father who barbecued a horde of full grown Acromantula's?" Sirius asked gleefully.

James paled and asked "You think he'll be the same way with Lily?'

"Oh definitely, she's his blood, she has to be or the Ministry would have made her a ward of the school. No Prongs my advice would be to tread carefully if you ever do manage to court her. Unless you fancy being covered in flames of course." Sirius said matter-o-factly.

James nodded dumbly looking horrified.

Sirius kind of felt bad for messing with James like this, he knew there was a grain of truth in what he said. Though he didn't think Harry would interfere with Lily's love life, Nymmie's on the other hand, the description was spot on. Still the look on James face was priceless, and he had to fight hard not break into laughter.

James spoke up finally, "so how is the map coming along Padfoot?" he asked hoping to change to a more pleasant subject.

Sirius grinned and started explaining "Well we got the school layout now we just need...

Headmaster's Office

Harry arrived at the door raising his arm to knock when a voice called through the door "Come on in Hadrian".

Shaking his head still wondering how the old man did that, he checked his watch and seen that he was a minute early he pushed open the door and stepped into the Headmaster's office.

Taking a look around as he entered he didn't notice much difference except the cabinet the Headmaster stored his 'Pensieve' in from Harry's time was opened and it currently contained bottles of spirits and a collection of empty tumblers.

Fawkes was sitting on his perch and met Harry's gaze for a second before trilling happily when harry stepped forward and stroked the birds head gently.

Dumbledore watched the young man's interaction with his familiar and was pleasantly surprised, usually Fawkes was not very receptive to strangers. Still this was a good sign, his familiar would have sensed an I'll intentions Mr. Black may have had.

Dumbledore Cleared his throat and said " I see you have met Fawkes, he is usually not this open with strangers."

"Yes he truly is a magnificent specimen." Harry told the headmaster, he had always been fond of Fawkes since the bird had saved his life in his second year.

"Why thank you, I'm sure Fawkes appreciates the compliment" The pheonix trilled as if confirming the Head masters statement "But please have a seat this shouldn't take long", I know it's been a long day." Albus said waving to a chair in front of his desk.

Harry nodded and took a seat waiting for Dumbledore to begin.

Albus looked at him for a moment before speaking "First of all how is Ms. Evans coping? I can't imagine what she is feeling, having gone through something so horrible."

"She's still pretty upset, but Andy is watching after her, she is better with this kind of thing than I am" Harry admitted.

"Well as long as she knows someone is there for her she should bounce back" Dumbledore advised popping a "Lemon Drop" is mouth from the bowl on his desk.

He offered Harry the bowl which Harry shook his head in the negative before speaking " Never liked them much to sugary for me Headmaster."

"Not many people do sadly, I did have another important topic to discuss with you, but first how goes the defense club? Dumbledore inquired.

"I was going to talk to you about that Headmaster. I think it would be best to split the club in two.

The fourth and fifth years can still come on Thursdays five to seven. I would like to teach the sixth and seventh years Wednesday from three to five". Harry finished his pitch.

"I see no problem with that, that time period is free for all N.E.W.T students. I will make the announcement tomorrow at breakfast." Dumbledore answered.

"Thank you sir" Harry said sincerely.

"Now that that's settled, I am currently forming a group of like minded people who will help protect the people if another incident like Halloween should occur. I would really like for you to be a part of this group as you would no doubt be very useful to our efforts." Dumbledore stated expectantly.

'So this must be the forming of the 'Order of the Pheonix' Harry thought to himself. While joining the order was tempting he knew it would hamstring his own efforts as 'The Reaper'. The fact that he would also be expected to capture the enemy rather than kill them was another major downside. Then when you factor in the fact that he would have to follow Dumbledore 's lead when the last time around his directives got over half the members killed, the answer was a no-brainer for Harry. Not to mention his wife would be very displeased if he were to join without consulting her first.

"I do appreciate the offer Headmaster, but I would prefer to stay as neutral as possible. I do agree with your goals, but my family comes first. If I were to openly support you it would put a target on their back, so I am sorry but I must decline" Harry told Albus as respectfully as possible.

Dumbledore's face fell "Isn't there anyway I can change your mind? I can have wards put up around your house you really could offer a lot to our cause and save many lives." Dumbledore implored him.

"I am sorry my family comes first, you have my wand for any threats against Hogwarts but I can't put Andromeda and the children at risk" Harry answered plainly'

"Very well if you ever change your mind the offer stands" Dumbledore said disappointedly.

Harry nodded his understanding"Well if that is all I must get home last night was pretty rough and I could use a good nights sleep." Harry said rising from his chair.

Dumbledore nodded "Yes I believe that will be all, Good night Hadrian.

"Good night Headmaster." Harry said as he made his way out the door.

Dumbledore was shocked that Hadrian had refused his offer. He was clearly a natural fighter. His reasons were understandable, even admirable but the didn't mean the Headmaster wasn't disappointed he wouldn't join the 'Order'

Well at least he didn't have to fear the man joining Riddle, still having Hadrian Black would have almost certainly stacked the deck in his favor.

There was more people he could recruit to help his cause, maybe it was time he talked with his old contact Alastor Moody.

Gringotts Bank, Diagon Alley, London, 12/5/1975, 14:45

Harry was sent a letter to meet with his account manager today, most likely for final details on his upcoming mission to 'Malfoy Manor.'

The last month had been a rollercoaster, Harry had arranged the funeral for the 'Evans' family, they had also been invited to attend the funeral of 'Vernon Dursley' seeing as how he had just gotten engaged to Petunia before her death, but both Harry and Lily declined.

Lily had met him over the summer and told Harry quite plainly "His Death was no great loss."

The service for Lily's family had been a relatively small affair. Her parents being only children and their own parents already having passed meant most of the attendees were friends or coworkers. Mark's casket had the 'Union Flag' draped over his casket and the service was done quite quickly. The most devastating part for Lily was when she was presented the folded flag as her father was lowered into the Earth. She was sobbing into his shoulder for the rest of the burial service.

Lily returned to school the day after the funeral and she started attending morning lessons with Sirius, she had a lot of sensitive knowledge so he knew it was a priority to teach her Occlumency. She seemed to pick up the techniques very quickly and as of this mornings she was very close to being caught up to level Sirius was at.

Of course that had a lot to do with her already having a very organized mind. Organizing your mind is the first step and the one Sirius struggled with. for the first few months. They could now both keep passive 'Legilimens' attacks out of their mind. But both struggled to keep an active attack at bay.

His defense clubs had been going well, now that the N.E.W.T students weren't being held back by the younger students he could really push them with learning the foot work and silent casting during a duel. He gave them all a piece of parchment with a list of spells, much like he did Sirius to the learn on their own time.

As much as he liked teaching he was starting to feel restless, he was very much looking forward to the Horcrux retrieval mission.

Entering the bank he approached the nearest teller goblin. "How may I help you wizard." the goblin asked bluntly

"I have an appointment at three with my account manager 'Long Blade'. Harry said politely.

Harry did a double take when he seen the name placard on the counter 'Griphook', he couldn't see any difference to the goblin who had tried to double cross him back when he, Hermione and Ron had broke into the LeStrange vault in his timeline.

"Please follow me Mr. Black", the goblin said sliding from his chair and leading him to his account managers office. Griphook knocked then stuck his head in the door.

A second later he pulled back out of the room and spoke "You may enter, have a nice day Mr. Black."

Upon entering the office Long Blade waved him to his usual seat, "Well Mr. Black congratulations on your performance at Halloween, the Acromantula you killed earned you a sizeable amount of gold from their venom and silk sacs. The ministry took fourty percent seeing as they collected them and paid for their processing. You still earned two-hundred and eleven thousand galleons. Long Blade said happily.

This was news to him he hadn't really thought about processing the spiders and thought the ministry just disposed of them after they portkeyed them away.

Still he wasn't going to complain about this. He was reasonably well off so money wasn't an issue for him, but it never hurt to have extra in the bank.

Harry nodded "Thank you Long Blade, I must admit I hadn't even thought about the profit those spiders could make for me, I appreciate your diligence on my behalf." Harry told the Goblin.

"Well you have done great services to the bank in the past, so it was not much trouble for us to reach out to the Ministry on your behalf" Long Blade replied dismissively.

"Thank you all the same. Harry said.

Long Blade nodded before continuing "We hit a slight snag on the Malfoy front, Abraxus was intending to visit France to find a match for his heir. Obviously he doesn't have that problem any longer. I was informed by the Malfoy account goblin that he has canceled his plans to leave for France over Yule." Long Blade told him with a scowl.

"Well if I can't sneak in the back window like I planned, I guess I'll just have to kick in the front door." harry said with a smirk.

"That could work, you would be best served by not leaving witnesses though." Long Blade warned.

""I hadn't planned to, does Abraxus have a wife." harry asked.

"No she passed away under mysterious circumstances in nineteen sixty-five," Long Blade answered.

Harry breathed a sigh of relief at knowing he wouldn't have to kill an innocent woman.

Looking at Long Blade Harry said "I need a folder on available houses that have five rooms or more and a decent sized yard, my house is getting a bit cramped and Andromeda has another baby on the way."

Long Blade filled out a strip of parchment and slid it into a slot on his desk, they both waited silently for a few minutes before a younger goblin knocked on the door and brought in a leather bound folder before leaving.

Long Blade passed the folder to him and said "You may take that with you and make a decision. I'm sure Mrs. Black will aid you in finding a property to suit your needs."

"Thank you Long Blade, I'll be in touch soon.' Harry said recognizing a dismissal from his accountant.

"Good day Mr. Black." Long Blade bid Harry as he exited the office.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, R.o.R, Scotland, 12/10/1975, 17:04

Harry had just finished his advanced Defense club meeting, today they were they had been working on the counter curse for the 'Blood Boiling Curse.' Harry had cast the curse on training dummies the room had provided. They turned an angry red until the counter curse was cast correctly, after three minutes the dummies would turn a dark black signifying the curse had killed the Dummy.

Most of the class had done quite well, some struggled but overall every student saved a dummy at least once.

He was just making notes in his teachers planner he had been provided by the school, when a throat clearing caught his attention. Turning to the source of the disturbance he came face to face with 'Damien Greengrass', the father of the woman responsible for sending him to this time period.

"Can I help you Mr. Greengrass?" harry asked his face completely blank.

"I have a message for you" the boy said simply handing him a scroll of parchment and exiting the room.

Harry pulled his wand and scanned the paper for cuses, port keys and any other traps before carefully unrolling it and beginning to read.

Professor Hadrian Black,

I am leading a group to take our world back from muggle influence. I would like you to be a part of the new world I am creating. I have been most impressed with you, you did very well against the acromantula this past Halloween. I could use someone of your caliber in my ranks. please consider my offer. With me leading you there is no limits how far you can go.

If you decide you wish to accept please send word with my messenger and I will arrange a meeting. However I warn you if you do not come alone or try anything nefarious after my show of faith, I will kill you and whoever you bring with you, and every member of your family. I do not tell you this to frighten you, I just wish to impress upon how serious I am.

best Regards, Lord Voldemort
