Keeping a relationship a secret can be easy if you knew what you were doing. Or I should say should've known how hard it would be to mask a relationship with the captain of the ship. I suggested that we would keep up the charade with our crew members to ensure no one would suspect the dinner went successfully. Jim thought it would be a good idea to have our hands touch whenever he possibly could. Luckily it was not around my brother nor Uhura. Anyone who have been with a Vulcan or a Vulcan themselves would know exactly what he was doing.

Whoosh.

I didn't look up from the book I was reading. I was too engrossed over the details of the history of the very first Enterprise. The name have been carried over many vessels from sea to space. A tray clacked against the table.

"Reading on history of the namesake, huh?"

I hummed, "It's pretty fascinating of seeing the accomplishments of each vessel who carried our ship's name."

A fork was pointed towards my person, "This ship would have amazing accomplishments listed underneath its vessel number."

After taking a sip of my Vulcan tea, I asked, "What is it that you want from me, Captain?"

It was a silent few moments. I glanced over my book seeing Jim grinning devilishly. I raised an angled brow. Jim stabbed his fruit from his fruit cup tearing away his attention, "I was seeing as you're the only Vulcan I can tolerate the most if you could possibly tell me more about Vulcans."

I nearly snorted at his way of words. I placed my bookmark in my book closing it. I nursed my warm tea in my hands, "Okay. What is it that you want to know? I do warn you some topics are... classified for public ears."

The captain pushed his mandarin orange slices back and forth in the cup. He looked to be thinking for a moment before he came up with an idea, "Well how about you meet me in my quarters? As you say some information aren't for public ears."

I looked at him over my tea cup. I narrowed my eyes suspiciously, "If it has to do with that one topic, that would be wise. Vulcans do not speak about it freely. It is emotion ridden. And Vulcans do not like to speak about their emotions freely."

Jim rolled his eyes breathing out, "Tell me about it."

I hummed, "Why are you curious about such topic?"

The captain's lips spread, "Well there is one reason I was curious about but that's not exactly why."

His mood shifted from radiating need and want to concern. I clicked my tongue, "There's only one other Vulcan aboard. Is my brother okay?"

Jim pushed his tray away from him, "I think so?"

I finished my tea, "Well would you like to go to your quarters and we can discuss this in detail? Your answer was not satisfactory to me. I feel you are unsure of my brother's wellbeing."

At the offer, Jim hopped up from his seat and disposed his food contents. I tucked my book underneath my arm and grabbing the tea cup. After putting away the dishes, we headed out to the captain quarters.

Once the door swooshed closed then locked, I crossed my arms, "Is it really about my brother or are you trying to get me into your quarters?"

Jim loosened his captain's collar, "A bit of both."

He sat down on the couch his quarters and it seems only his quarters would have. I sat down next to him, "What made you curious about Pon Farr?"

Jim reached up to his face scratching at the incoming stubble, "What exactly happens during it?"

I nearly laughed, "If you don't remember, then I am sure I can mind meld with you to remember."

Jim laughed. His ears are a bit tinged red. His cheeks were very lightly dusted of the thought of our time together. Jim's fingers reached for mine and he very lightly ran his two fingers across mine. It was my turn to feel the burning sensation in my ears and cheeks. Jim's voice dropped slightly, "How could I forget?"

He cleared his throat, "I mean what happens leading up to the moment?"

I slowly pulled away from his light finger touches. I answered, "Vulcans become violent. Our emotions rise from the depths and we wouldn't know how to control per say. If one is bonded, they would go to Vulcan and consummate their bond. Seeing as Vulcan is no more, it's a matter of if the other half survived the fall or not. It's a very archaic ritual if one challenges the bond."

Jim placed his hand over his lips in thought. I let out a sigh, "If this is concerning Spock, if he is nearing his Pon Farr he would feel a telepathic bond with his betrothed T'Pring. I told him he should let go of the bond years ago. She was with some stuck up Vulcan of another council member's family last I've seen her."

Jim's lips went into a firm line. He scooted closer to my person. He reached out softly to move a few strands of hair out of my face. Jim spoke softly, "I'm sorry you had to go through with that."

Of course he remembered Serock. Everyone who has been on this ship have heard of Serock by now. It's not classified to know about one of their senior staff was held kidnapped and harmed by another Vulcan who once was their betrothed. Thankfully, no one bothered to ask about Vulcan customs or just about the incident.

I pulled his hand away softly, "It happened in the past. There isn't anything I could change about it. Anyways, back onto Spock. What have you been noticing?"

Jim squeezed my hand to let me know without words he is there for me. Jim let out a deep breath, "He's starting to get short when he talks."

I raised an eyebrow, "He's always been short in particular instances."

Jim lightly shook his head, "It's more than just a shut down of an answer."

The only thing I would have to do is see for myself. I suggested, "Well I can bring him around for dinner at my quarters one night. I'll see what you mean. For now, play it by ear as one would say."

Jim laid back, "Well that's one issue down so far."

I raised an eyebrow, "One issue? There's more than one?"

Jim nodded springing up pulling me off the couch, "Yes! It's been an issue for a while. As captain, it's my duty to fix it."

I stumbled slightly over my own two feet. He pulled me close lacing his hand in one of my own and placed his other hand on my lower back. Jim leaned down and placed a kiss on my forehead, "I've been wanting to do that for a while."

A soft smile graced my lips but accompanying it was a roll of the eyes, "I believe you are in this phase called a honeymoon phase."

Jim threw on his lopsided smile, "Well I don't particularly want to get out of it if it means I get to see you happy."

The captain spun me around before stopping to press his lips onto my own. The sound of his door's chime broke the two of us apart. His voice went into a light whisper, "Hide in the closet. I'll go see who it is."

I pulled away from him but he didn't let me leave peacefully as he lightly tapped my behind. I'd like to think it was a gesture to hurry up as another chime went through but I'm pretty sure for human gestures to one person they're comfortable with in a relationship it was just a sensual touch. Jim waited till I was hidden behind the closet doors before unlocking his quarter's door revealing no other than Dr. McCoy.

"Ah, Bones."

"Jim, I need to talk to you."

Bones, being the best friend of the captain, let himself in when the captain stepped to the side. Bones pulled out his P.A.D.D, "For the next planet we would be visiting, there are some of the crew members that would need to get their vaccines."

Jim's brows furrowed together, "Wouldn't everyone be up to date as regulation?"

Bones nodded, "Yes, of course. I made sure of it. However, this vaccine isn't required per regulation. This is just a per caution. From the research I've gathered, it's not susceptible to humans. It's more towards our two residential Vulcans on board."

Behind the closet doors, an angled brow raised. If it's a hypospray, no problem. The one thing I'm more worried about is how Spock would react by getting a hypospray if Jim is thinking he is edging near his pon farr.

Jim held out his hand where Bones placed the P.A.D.D in. Jim looked over at the two personnel files of one particular female Vulcan hiding in his quarters and one male Vulcan who may or may not be reaching towards his pon farr. Jim decided to mention something to Bones as he is their chief medical officer, "I'm concerned about Spock."

Bones raised his infamous brow, "What do you mean?"

Jim chewed inside his cheek, "Once I find out, I'll... I'll get back to you."

Bones slowly took the P.A.D.D out of Jim's hands, "If it's a medical emergency, I have the right to know."

Jim rubbed the back of his neck, "The thing is I don't know if it is or not. I'm not even sure if its the thing I'm thinking it may be. It could just be my imagination. However, once I know I'll tell you."

Bones eyed the captain suspiciously, "Okay. Well I thought to bring that up to you so there wouldn't be an outbreak incase their human DNA changes what may be down there."

Jim nodded, "Is that all?"

Bones placed the P.A.D.D down on the table. The good doctor not noticing the history of Enterprise book laying on the table. Bones sat on the couch letting out a sigh, "I thought to also visit a friend. See how you are doing. You never told me what happened at that dinner."

Jim moved to his mini bar to pour Bones and himself a drink. He glanced over at the closet door where the subject of topic is hiding in. Jim grabbed the drinks letting out a sigh, "She didn't seem ready, I guess. I didn't want to push her but it seems you and Mr. Scott thought otherwise to do so."

Bones scoffed accepting the drink, "Thought it was time. Apparently my diagnosis is wrong."

Jim grumbled into his drink to keep up with the charade, "Apparently."

I let out a silent sigh. This might take a while. It'd be rude for Jim to usher his best friend out of the room. I sat down on the floor of his closet. What would the captain have in his closet? In case you were wondering, his officers uniform, many many captain shirts and a couple civilian clothing.

I should of expected this to be a while but not a very long time where I grew tired of waiting and fell asleep on the ground of his closet. By the time it was safe to open the closet door, Jim found my person nestled on the ground using a couple of his civilian shirts as a pillow. Jim didn't have the heart to wake up the Vulcan in his quarters as he didn't expect Bones to stay that long. He placed the Vulcan in his bed after taking her regulation boots off and tucked her into bed. He needs to do his rounds as captain so he left the sleeping Vulcan in his bed till it was time for him to turn in. Jim leaned down kissing the Vulcan's temple before leaving her be. Starting tomorrow, the female Vulcan hybrid would gather information on her counterpart to see if its something needing to stop at New Vulcan for.
