Few notes to read: This takes place just after Marley wins war against the Mid-Eastern Fleet. Hange, Sasha, Porco, and the military officers who got titanized are still alive here. In other words, consider this fanfic AU for taking place in a perfect world. Enjoy, my fellow EreHisu shippers!

Disclaimer: I don't own Attack on Titan or any of its characters.

Six months.

One half of a year.

One hundred eighty-one days.

Four thousand three hundred twenty hours.

That was how long Eren and Historia endured planning their wedding.

All in all, the planning process could have been simpler than what they went through. It would not have been as stressful if there were less to zero arguments, as well as the ruckus created while the whole thing was happening. And it wouldn't have been as exhausting if it weren't for the back-and-forth trips to Marley and Paradis that Eren went on in the span of a few months.

But when you were known as the 'Savior of Eldia', you know that things were more than just simple to describe what happened to Eren Yeager.

Now when the Savior of Eldia proposed to the Queen of the Walls, word did get out and fast. Whether it was from Jean's drunken mouth or the overexcited Hange or the bored Levi, seeing his opportunity pass him, it did not matter—everyone in Paradis knew about the wedding that was bound to happen. The people of Marley, under the command of Theo Magath (after the previous general was tried and thrown into jail), had thrown away his past issues with Eldians after a meaningful talk with Historia herself, accompanied by both Armin and Hange. They had arrived in Marley right after the nation won the four-year war against the Mid-Eastern Alliance and were immediately met with guns directed to their faces, but Queen Historia kept a cool facade and requested an audience with the higher-ups of Marley. In the end, after almost a four-hour discussion, both parties left in satisfaction.

Currently, they now have a working truce with the people of Paradis, which also resulted in the freedom of the Eldians living in the internment zone. Once they heard of the Titan-shifter that fought for freedom and the Queen who was able to tame the 'monster', they were eager for such a wedding to take place, at least until they learned from the military that Eren Yeager himself wanted their freedom.

If that wasn't enough, the news had even gotten to other nations of the world, resulting in varied reactions everywhere. Some were fearing the possibility of the rise of a stronger Eldian Empire, a few were celebrating as well (mostly fellow Eldians), and there were also those who didn't bat an eye since it didn't involve them. No one dared to make any hostile moves however, not when the unstoppable nation of Marley and the kingdom of Paradis have begun working together. The horror of the "island devils and the military power of Marley" was too much for any military officer from afar to handle.

Eren proposed to Historia on the anniversary of the day that the 104th Corps graduates officially became soldiers. The celebration had taken place in the royal palace, where Eren didn't care about the others for a brief moment and went down on one knee before speaking those sacred words. While it was a blunt and straightforward way Historia could only describe as "just what I expected from him", she agreed to his proposal, crying into his arms after he kissed her with Eren whispering simple but meaningful words into her ear,

"Ymir's gonna be so happy when she sees her mom and dad getting married, Historia."

The two of them wanted to start preparations to begin right away because Historia was determined to make her wedding a success for she was the Queen, and Eren couldn't help but be impatient and demanded that they be married soon.

But they never expected it to take them a whole six months to complete their wedding.

Hange helped the unlikely pair plan their wedding most of the time and calmed down the people who would visit the royal palace to ask questions at the newly announced royal couple, or possibly to silence those nobles around Mitras who opposed the idea of the marriage as a whole, preferring themselves or their sons to be Historia's husband.

Sometimes Jean would accidentally let out a snarky comment, and Eren would immediately leave the planning sessions to deal with him despite Historia chastising him about acting proper since he was due to be a royal soon. Other times, a random noble that Historia could only vaguely remember would appear, and Eren would be riled up, ready to kick their asses if they do anything inappropriate. There were even a few times when Mikasa sent Historia death glares because of her own feelings for Eren. The day when Eren proposed to the Queen was something that hurt her dearly, and she was seen crying by Levi when the unlikely couple had kissed. He didn't do anything though, resigning himself to scoff at the scene and have the "brats handle the situation themselves".

Originally, the venue was supposed to be at the palace's chapel. "It's a place fitting for the Queen, doesn't it make sense for you to get married there?" Jean had pointed out. Armin, however, simply patted him on the back as if to say "You did your best" before suggesting that the two could have their wedding at the reconstructed Reiss chapel.

It was Historia herself who organized the project of rebuilding her family name so that in a way, the Reiss bloodline would not be forgotten when the time comes that the Queen would finally pass down her crown to an heir. While she had no lingering love for her family with the exception of her sister, Historia did feel that the best thing that Rod Reiss could have done for her was sending her away after her mother's murder. It set her on the path to meeting her dear friend Ymir, and her eventual lover.

The wedding reception was supposed to be held at the palace initially, but changed when Historia and Hange agreed with what Armin suggested: the reception was to be held at a ship that was headed to Marley, in order to show a sign of good faith between the two nations. Although Pixis and the other military leaders were reluctant to let the Queen be on a ship heading towards their former enemy's land, Historia insisted that she'll be completely safe from harm. Plus, Eren would be there with her and should there be someone to stir up trouble, hundreds of guards and soldiers would be at the ready.

Finally, after six months of color schemes, flower arrangements, venue, food decisions, dresses for the bride and bridesmaids, tuxedos for the groom and groomsmen, music selections, photographer, and a priest who was not traumatized by the thought of the Queen marrying a monster (former monster, actually), the day had finally come.

Eren and Historia's wedding day arrived.

Some of the military officers in Paradis would allow their couple to invite whoever they wanted, and they would leave the two alone to their own planning. Eren didn't really care about invitations, as long as his friends would be there to attend his wedding. It was Historia who wanted her wedding to be big as if she wanted the whole world to witness it, which only proved how important this day was to her.

Almost everyone from the military was invited to such a wedding, and some civilians were lucky enough to witness it first-hand. Even though the Reiss chapel itself was anything but big, it almost looked like every person living within the walls had occupied the lands. It was very different compared to when Levi and Hange married last year, wherein it was a private ceremony (at Levi's demand) that only involved at least five people at the actual wedding, including his squad and Historia herself.

But for this wedding, even a few Marleyan people were attending the ceremony. Zeke, Yelena, Pieck, Porco and Reiner, to name a few. Not only would the chapel be filled—Wall Sina would be so packed that people would have to wait from the newspapers to get knowledge of what was happening. Even the people of Marley were excitedly waiting at the port for the ship that held the wedding reception to arrive.

Perhaps, it would even go down as the Wedding of the Century.

While some guests were invited and others would show up regardless, Eren and Historia specifically hand-selected those who would participate in the wedding.

It wasn't easy in the slightest.

Since Ymir was now gone, Historia had no one left to possibly choose as the Maid of Honor. Eren solved this quite easily by picking Mikasa to fulfill the role. Although the latter was displeased with what she had to do, she went with it in the end. Historia chose Hange as the Matron of Honor while Annie, Sasha, Yelena and Hitch were selected as her bridesmaids. Kaya was to be the flower girl along with Gabi Braun and one of the children from the orphanage. Gabi hid her true feelings underneath her mask, still feeling guilty for thinking bad of the people of Paradis when they were no different than her.

Historia had then decided not to leave the boys out of the event, asking if they would like to be part of the wedding and walk down the aisle with the flower girls. Falco agreed, wanting to walk with Gabi—much to the poor girl's embarrassment—and some other children from Historia's orphanage fulfilled their roles eagerly. Meanwhile, one of the youngest children from the orphanage was chosen to be the ringbearer and it's no surprise to say that she was excited to help in the wedding of her beloved Queen.

Meanwhile, Eren had no difficulty whatsoever with whom he wanted for his groomsmen and best man. Armin looked both embarrassed and happy that Eren chose him to be his best man, although it shouldn't really be that much of a surprise. Eren called for Jean, Connie, Reiner, and Floch to be his groomsmen, to which the four had agreed to without hesitation.

Because Historia's parents were gone, Levi shocked everyone present that day when he volunteered to walk the bride down the aisle as a replacement to her father. Historia cried at his generous offer and would've hugged him had it not been for the fact that she had to hold herself back, while Eren couldn't have been any more glad to have met a man like Captain Levi. The man himself muttered his signature 'tsk', before going on about overdramatic brats nowadays.

The arrangements had all been settled and nothing could possibly go wrong. Or so Historia nervously hoped, and Eren had to calm her down on several occasions.

The pair was separated for several hours at a time with fittings, wine tasting (with a little help from Nicolo), and cake trials. The two were only together for a few hours day and night, making every second they spent with each other count as memorable with warm smiles and playful banter, counting down the days until they would see how their work paid off.

The bridal shower was hosted in Stohess District and went without a flaw. It was a nice night for relaxation, and a wonderful night to be with the girls in Historia's case. Weeks later, Eren, Historia, and their wedding party arrived at Marley to spend their last few days before the big day there. Eren and Historia were inseparable the entire time as the Marleyan government treated it as if the Queen of Paradis came over for a diplomatic visit. Their friends made sure that the couple would spend time with them as well, but Eren would whisk Historia off to a quiet dinner or she would demand the two of them go out for lunch. They wanted to spend as much time as they could before they would be taken away on their wedding day.

Guests from all over came to stay at various inns along Marley's ports within the next days. Every day, more and more people would pour into the area, wanting to get a glimpse and possibly, get to talk with the couple about to be wed not too long from now.

The rehearsal wedding had gone smoothly. Eren made sure to send the priest a warning glare when his eyes slipped to a certain place that he wasn't supposed to look at, but Historia was there to calm him down. Because Pixis and some of Eldia's military officers had last minute business with the Marley's commanding forces—a few who would make a diplomatic appearance at the wedding—Reiner pretended to walk Historia down the aisle, asking for forgiveness for what he did before telling her that he always thought of her as his friend and that she could come to him whenever she needed help. He also recounted how Ymir would talk about her during her last days in Marley, wiping away Historia's subsequent tears afterwards. Through their private talk, Eren had kept a genuine smile and left the two alone in order to continue attending to wedding business.

The rehearsal dinner was done two nights before the wedding and was held in a restaurant in one of Marley's main streets. The restaurant itself was quaint, but had the noble feel about it. The dinner went near perfect—save for Jean, Pixis, and many other men getting all drunk and loud—and the food was something that made everyone's stomachs full from only having nine courses, all thanks to Niccolo leading the kitchen. Eren and Historia then thanked their friends for being always there, the Eldian and the Marleyan people for honoring the truce they made and finally resolving the conflict between the two sides after many years of being at odds with each other. They had all taken a ship back to Paradis, but Historia and Eren separated from their friends to have some alone time together. He was able to have a loving conversation with his fiancé as the ship sailed back, holding her against his chest as they talked about everything that they've done which led to this moment. That night, Historia went to sleep with Ymir snoring gently by her side, while Eren had slept in another room on an empty bed. They both had trouble sleeping and stared at the night sky through the windows, knowing that their beloved was doing the same.

And now, the day had arrived.

After only six months.

One half a year.

One hundred eighty one days.

Four thousand three hundred twenty hours.

The dresses had been delivered, the tuxedos were pressed and ready for wear, the rings were with the ringbearer, the priest had arrived on time, the chapel was gradually filling up, and various newspapers were spread around everywhere—both in Paradis and in Marley—for the people to see. Pixis, Rico, and all their other subordinates arrived with front row seats and various people whom the couple have gotten to know through the years were already on their seats before everyone else.

Anxiety was floating in the air as blatant as a drop of white paint on a black canvas.

Today was the day.

The wedding between the King of Beasts and the Queen of Humanity.

This will only be a short series, less than 10 chapters I think. At any rate, because many things have been changed from the canon material, the ripples around it will affect the whole story. A few examples would be Willy Tybur's speech, the Curse of Ymir, and the titan power as a whole. If it don't make sense, leave it be. This is a fanfic, I can do what I want lol.

Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
