Harry Potter and the SCP Foundation

Chapter 8 - Survival of the Strongest Part 2

Doctor Rallim was reminiscing again, thinking about why he was here again; thinking about the nature of being a scientist... again.

When one is a scientist, an explorer if you will, of the mystery of the world all around us, one always seeks out the most likely explanation that tells us how it all fits into place.

There are so any questions, both big and small and the list gets bigger every day.

A clock has all its components, perfectly synchronized, perfectly built to make everything work, with no delays and no second guessing as to how a clock does what it does, synchronization in its best form.

For a scientist, this is the way of things thought Doctor Rallim.

It was the how and not the why. Nothing in nature has inherent purpose or a reason for existing.

There is only the how.

This is what he used to believe anyway, like many other scientists within the SCP Foundation.

When he first joined the organisation, back when he was still earning his doctorates and trying to make a name for himself he never would have imagined that the world he occupied was filled with things outside of scientific classification.

Within the walls around him, existed things that would throw scientific theory backwards by many years and only because what we thought was happening was not what was really happening.

The day his eyes were opened was the day he knew where he wanted to be for the foreseeable future.

So much to explore and so much to understand; only this time, he was trying to find out the why and not the how.

"They have arrived Doctor." Ulgrin spoke as he monitored the surveillance screen. "Samsara is here."

The moment Ulgrin said those words was the moment that Rallim knew he had to say something.

"Ulgrin... I need you to give an order to Samsara for me." Rallim asked, his eyes were staring intently towards his colleague. "You need to make sure that they do nothing but capture SCP-6934... they must not kill him."

The look on Ulgrin's face was almost priceless. Even as serious looking as he had been described to be, there was the obvious hint of 'what the fuck' in the way he was staring at the scientist. Even though this was a conversation between two high-ranking individuals, the whole command centre was within earshot and even they were looking at Doctor Rallim as if he had lost a marble or two.

"You know what the procedure is doctor." Ulgrin spoke lightly, no anger; just steel. "The attempt to contain the assets will be followed but failing that, Samsara main directive is to stop any SCP that breaks containment... that includes their annihilation."

The room was silent for a moment. All personnel observed the soldier and scientist as they did not budge from their staring contest. It was... nerve racking.

"I know what the procedures are, I've read the same rule book as you have." Rallim replied in a matter of fact tone.

"Then why then are we having this conversation?" Ulgrin question was direct and purposeful; like he was trying to get to the meat of the issue here. "Besides, what makes you think I can do anything?"

"DON'T GIVE ME THAT CRAP!" Rallim shouted.

Now the attention of the whole room was firmly distracted from their duties. Ulgrin's stare had now become more focused like a laser. No one shouts at Ulgrin and gets away with it. Ulgrin noticed this as he looked around the room at all the eyes now on him.

Taking a deep breath and composing himself, Rallim continued. "Ulgrin... you need to give the order to Samsara to not kill Harry Potter. And we both know that under special circumstances you can give the command to supersede any mission directives, being that you are the officer in command of security for Site-81."

Ulgrin just kept looking at Rallim. It was as if he was not in the slightest thrown off by his screaming. He just kept staring with his steely eyes.

"Harry Potter... when did you get to referring to this freak by its name?" He asked, but he got no response. "I know that I have the authority to give such a command Rallim... what I want to know is why should I?"

Rallim sighed in frustration. This was his chance to justify his request and if it was sound to the soldier in front of him then not only would he save someone's life... but he would also save someone who could give them answers.

Answers they have been seeking for a while... answers to a 'why' that for so long has been collecting dust.

When he came to, the security officer wondered why was he on the floor.

Groggily he sat himself up and took notice of his surroundings as he made an attempt to get rid of the vertigo feeling he was having, like all his senses were ajar along with his motor functions.

Things were blurry but he could kind of make out the shapes of things, among which he could recognize as his teammates who appeared to be in the same state as how he was feeling right now.

This was when he recalled that they had made contact with SCP-6934, and then he remembered that whatever freakish trick it assaulted them with is what led to their current state. He recalled how this one SCP took down his whole team with just a flick of his wrist and word... it was frightening.

He groaned as he tried standing but to no avail as he fell back on his ass. His hearing was no better as the only sound he was receiving was the alarms blaring as the lights did the same equally to his eyes.

Suddenly the room shook as a rhythm of thumping noises and impacts were felt.

He almost slipped back down on his back when this happened. What was happening were his first thoughts and it was as he was wondering this, he felt the thumps were getting closer to his position.

"THEN I WILL MAKE THEM DEAD."

Hearing this shook him awake fast as his head whipped up and his eyes looked towards where he heard that voice.

What he saw made him wish he was wearing adult diaper for standing not far but close enough to be seen in all its monstrous and horrific glory was the one SCP he wished he would never get to meet.

"SCP-682." The security guard whispered, in an attempt to not be noticed. He could not take his eyes off the behemoth and its huge maw with its serrated teeth, like hundreds of razor sharp knives.

Sadly, his plan to hide failed as the monster was coming towards him, closer with each heavy step and it was in that moment that he knew that he was done for... or so he thought.

"CONFRINGO."

He noticed a light of orange emanating from behind the monster from where the someone was shouting. The voice he recognized as SCP-6934's from when they encountered each other. The light show happened again and a number of times before stopping. He had no idea what SCP-6934 was trying to do, but whatever it was failed and did nothing to stop his imminent death... again or so he thought.

"CRUCIO."

Suddenly, SCP-682 began screaming as its whole body looked to have gone rigid, with its arms, its claws and even its tail stretching out fully as if an electric current was going though them.

While screaming it rose up of the floor onto its hindlegs, which showed its enormous height, and like a tree falling in a forest it fell onto its side. It was still screaming as it wriggled on ground in now what can only be described as true absolute pain.

The guard has never seen anything like this... it frightened him.

Quickly as it started it ended, with SCP-682 now breathing deeply, with each breath a constant reminder of the pain it was feeling.

Its eyes showed the discomfort it felt and it was frightening to behold.

"You'll never hurt them."

The voice echoed in the hallway, absolute in its claim and confident that what it was saying, it meant every syllable of it.

The guard took notice of the person standing far away from SCP-682 and he recognized who it was instantly. Standing there like a boss who would not fall, his hand held out towards the beast and his eyes glowing.

"SCP-6934." He whispered as he acknowledged one simple fact, that he was saved, he and his team, by an SCP.

"YOU'LL NOT TAKE THEM, YOU HEAR ME!" SCP-6934 shouted towards the down monster, whose eyes were now on him.

No response came, but a laugh did. A laugh that was filled with excitement, joy... and pride.

SCP-682 was happy.

"FINALLYgrrrrrr... YOU SHOW ME WHAT YOU AREgrrrrrr... SHOW ME MOREgrrrrrr."

The hallway shook as SCP-682 got back on its feet and quickly made a dash at SCP-6934.

The guard watched with baited breath and curiosity as he watched the two titans duke it out.

Before the giant reptile could snap its target up in its giant jaws, it vanished with a pop and instantly reappeared in front of the guards.

"Whatever you do, do not interfere." Spoke SCP-6934. "I will get it away from you and your friends."

The guard did not know what to say when SCP-6934 spoke to him but he knew that their best chance at surviving this was by doing as he was told.

Quick as before, SCP-6934 popped away, only this time he was reappearing next to SCP-682 where he then placed his hand on its body. He looked towards the guard one last time before both he and the giant monster vanished together in a huge pop which caused some of the surrounding debris to be sucked into a vortex shortly after.

Harry was committed now, there was no turning back for him and he knew that he had to do everything now within his power to stop this creature, no matter the cost to himself.

When both Harry and SCP-682 reappeared from the side-along apparition, he did not know where he would be taking them. He made sure that his intent was to take both himself and the passenger somewhere that they could both do this fight uninterrupted and with no chance of random people getting in their way.

The environment they emerged into was some very large room with a large empty swimming pool with the same color theme as all the other rooms and halls Harry's has been to but larger, really large.

This was perfect for them Harry thought.

"THIS IS YOUR PLANgrrrrrr? TO IMPRISON ME IN MY CELLgrrrrrr?"

'His cell?' Harry thought as he looked towards SCP-682 who was standing in the centre of the room. It looks to have fully healed from their first battle and was now raring to go another round.

"WHEN I SENSED YOU WERE HERE, THIS CELL COULD NOT HOLD MEgrrrrrr. AND IT WONT HOLD ME FROM TEARING YOU APARTgrrrrrr"

That was not Harry's plan, but now after what he has just learned, this may be the boon he was looking for to stop this monster.

Harry looked towards SCP-682 and it towards him. This moment was like a cowboy western, two combatants ready to draw.

Harry stretched his fingers and made a fist, limbering himself, and SCP-682 rolled its large shoulders and whipped its tail around, showing how excited it was getting.

Harry closed his eyes, a plan already forming and when they opened he ran right at the monster with all the speed he could muster. His ribs and muscles still ached with pain from before but he could not stop, He was committed as he jumped at SCP-682 who in that moment jumped at him.

And the spell came to Harry in that moment for just this occasion... or so it would have.

Harry found himself apparating away to a safe distance an explosion of debris fell between him and SCP-682, interrupting their fight.

Harry looked at the ceiling were a hole was now present and he was weary and was a little on edge now. Call it a sixth sense for these kind of things, something that he has had since his days at school, like a spider-sense. The feeling he was getting was one of danger.

From the hole fell four people, each falling in sync and upon reaching the ground, an impact crater was created and smoke from the impact covered them.

Harry was shocked by this, thinking that this was insane but he could not shake the feeling he was getting. The height they were falling from was at least one hundred feet or more yet when they landed, they showed no signs that they felt the impact.

When the smoke subsided and all four of the new arrivals could be seen, Harry did not expect to see this.

Four human looking individuals, outfitted in what can be described as futuristic armor and carrying high-tech weapons, both projectile and melee. Their faces were covered so no one could make out any differences in them. Every about them was similar looking.

Who were they were Harry's thoughts.

One of the four individuals looked at Harry. "SCP-6934." It spoke, it then looked towards the giant lizard. "SCP-682."

There was a pause and then suddenly, all four armed their weapons. "Operation commencing... we are Mobile Task Force Tau-5 "Samsara"."
