The pitch is written and now posted. For those few people who expressed interest in the pitch. Thank you for your reviews. I was unsure of how it would be taken. While it isn't much compared to some of the other works I hope it is up to par with what you thought it could be. I endeavor to make people happy and laugh as a writer. My goal is to make you invested in the world I'm crafting as it grows.
With my rambling out of the way, there are a few surprises waiting for you in this fic. Some you might like. Some you might hate. Some you might not even understand.

A colorful void of shifting colors that made an acid trip seem like a walk in the park. For anyone unfamiliar with its description it had a name. This was the Dimensional Gap. An area in between the three main worlds Earth, Heaven, and the Underworld.
The human world of earth housed the human, yokai, and other pantheons. Each of the pantheons had their own areas they controlled separated in pocket dimensions. The humans and yokai lived in relative harmony in the sense of they usually had civil interactions.
The underworld whose residents included the devils, fallen angels, and various death gods with Hades of the Greek's being most prominent. The devils had their own recognizable members in the form of the Four Great Satan's. Lucifer, Beelzebub, Leviathan, and Asmodeus all being immensely powerful and enough of a deterrent for war. The leader of the fallen angels, Azazel, being no slouch as an ex-seraph class angel and a genius of universal renown.
Heaven was as it sounded, a floating palace and kingdom in the sky where the Biblical God and his angels claimed ownership. Heaven itself was setup into seven distinct levels. The 'first floor' of Heaven, was where low-level Angels generally reside. It also serves as the front lines of Heaven's defenses. The Second Heaven was a place filled with darkness where the Angels observe the stars and where they confine Angels who have sinned. The Third Heaven Home of the souls of the dead who have been taken to Heaven. So vast in nature that it was almost immeasurable and is the Heaven worshippers of Christianity believe in. The Fourth Heaven was The Garden of Eden where the legend of Adam and Eve began. This is the place where the Trees of Life and Wisdom reside. The Fifth Heaven home to the members of The Grigori, Fallen Angels, before they fell. The Sixth Heaven known simply as 'Zebel' and the current core of Heaven where the Seraphs such as Michael and Gabriel reside. The Seventh Heaven was home to the Sacred Gear System, and God's System. Also, where the God of the Bible lived while in Heaven.
Within the Dimensional Gap or simply The Gap, two residents inhabit the seemingly unlimited void. One was Ophis the Ouroboros Dragon or the Infinite Dragon God to some. A being that was one of the three greatest existences in the universe. As a human-shaped dragon god, she had the ability to change her shape at will, and in any way, she saw fit. Ophis's current appearance was that of a cute young girl with long black hair down to her hips and black gray eyes with a reptilian slit. Her ears were pointed at the tips, although her long black hair made this feature difficult to notice. As far as clothing went, she wore a gothic-Lolita themed outfit with the chest area open. Over her nipples were pieces of black adhesive in an X shape. Born from mysterious means she sought only silence as she wandered the vast Gap. The other being dwelling the Gap made this hard though.
Great Red was known by many names. Apocalypse Dragon, True Red Dragon God Emperor, True Dragon, and Dragon of Dragons being most prominently known. Being one of the three strongest existences, he was held in reverence as the strongest of the three given the fact he controlled the domain of dreams and illusions. His physical body was that of a western-styled dragon with a staggering one-hundred-meter-long body and equally large wings.
Right now, the only occupants of the Gap were in a heated… Battle? Argument? Debate? Catfight? No one could really be sure as they didn't move but rather yelled and batted halfheartedly at each other. Truly a strange scene and one that surprised the man who just walked in on it. Having arrived only moments ago he was confused. Seeing from what his senses told him were two of the strongest beings in this universe. Doing what could be equated to a preschool playground fight was… odd to say the least.
He was close to saying screw it and just leaving through the portal he arrived from and moving on. After a couple of minutes of watching he cleared his throat softly. In a seemingly preposterous display of auditory perception, given the commotion they created, both Dragon Gods looked at the man. One irate the other amused and both curious together they turned to their newest guest. The man in question had a remarkably interesting appearance to be sure. To distracted by this seemingly human entity that interrupted their squabble they never sensed for his energy.
The man was young in appearance given he looked to be in his early teens. Thick yet delicate stark white hair pulled in a high ponytail fell to his thighs. His skin was much the same in its alabaster complexion. The biggest standout was his deep vermilion eyes that almost consumed you as you stared at them. Vampiric slits of an almost abyssal black contrasted with the orbs. His jawline was a bit feminine in its rounded yet slightly angular shape. Giving an almost ethereal visage when coupled with his almond-shaped vermilion eyes. His body was muscular in nature, not unlike that of a martial artist or swordsman. The last thing they noticed was his height. He was 150 cm tall.
Shrouded in a black traveler cloak he shrugged it off, to which the article of clothing was covered in archaic energy and vanished. Without his cloak, the childlike being was wearing a plain oversized black kimono and hamaka tied with a red obi and no footwear. Covering his shoulders almost like a cape was a haori with lotus blooms scattered about. His stoic features were a mirrored image of Ophis and her expression.
The two swords at his side put both dragons on edge as they gave off an aura they knew. An aura not unlike that of the dragon-slaying sword Ascalon. The similarities died there as the Odachi's blade was about 120 centimeters long with a 40-centimeter-long hilt. A simple but equally elegant blooming lotus flower modeled tsuba finished off the aesthetic. The sheath was a black material with a blooming sakura tree motif covering its full length. The Wakizashi was basically a copy of the Odachi in design and design. With a 60-centimeter blade and 20-centimeter hilt and lotus tsuba, it exuded the same feeling of the dragon-slaying sword.
With a muted expression the three gazed at each other in silence for some time. No one really knew how to break the ice of the stalemate. That was true until Great Red's delinquent like attitude came to rear its head.
"Who are you Ningen?" It was a basic question that contained no ulterior motivation.
A minute pause happened.
"I… have no name…" Wow, you could feel more emotion from Ophis with that tone.
"Smartass then. Ok, then let me rephrase. What are you?"
"I… am unsure… of how to… respond." A growl could be heard exiting Red's throat.
"Grrr. Then why are you here?"
Another ponderous silence ensued.
"I… can answer… that. I found… this area… interesting." The noises of displeasure were mounting and increasing in volume.
"Definitely a wise guy. If you don't give me an answer I like, then I will just have to beat it out of you."
Ophis who had until now been silent was feeling a sensation she could not comprehend. For as long as she had existed, she was always the strongest or at the least on par with those who claimed that title. Yet right now she felt only crushing despair, not unlike cornered prey. She was nothing in the face of this… this creature. It may look human and talk like a human but her instincts that had long laid dormant were brought forward full force. The instinctual fear of being in the presence of a predator.
If she attacked this thing she would die. When she probed its strength, she was greeted by an endless void of power. She may be a dragon god and hold immeasurable power but this thing in front of her was like comparing a newborn human to a dragon god. Unfeasibly large and far apart. This universe would not survive this thing if angered. She would not survive. She could only shake in primal fear at the motionless figure as salty liquid spilled like a waterfall from her gray eyes.
Great Red was preparing to let his power loose on this disrespectful Ningen. Or he would have had he not tried to sense this Ningen's strength. For all his bravado and boasting he still feared death. He still had the survival instincts he had long grown past. They now came and hit his mind with a paralyzingly strong effect. His draconic body stopped cold and fell under the invisible pressure. His mind and mouth unable to move and articulate speech. He was shrinking to that of a mortal's size. Anything to look like a smaller target in front of this monster. The irony of the reversed conditions completely lost in his primal terror.
Confused by the change in demeanor the child looked on in veiled interest. After what seemed like hours the being seemed to understand what happened. Reining in his aura like a dog heading their master it retreated. Strolling to the loli dragon he pulled a white handkerchief from a black portal and started to clean her tearstained face. Up close he took note that she was cute. Some might even call her beautiful or stunning given her facial structure and looks.
Still trembling like a frightened rabbit, he pulled to poor dragon into a hug. Startled out of her fear-induced state she thought to struggle to escape. But the child's suddenly warm presence stalled her plans of escape as she found comfort in the simple action. She remembered humans did this as a sign of affection or security. She should be trying to retreat and get away without hesitation. Her body refused to move though, it refused to leave to the warm comfort provided by the childlike being. Calming down enough that her shaking became nonexistent he turned her, so she now spooned with his chest. Calling a chair into existence he sat while being mindful of the young-looking dragon still nestled against his chest. It was hard given the similar size. Shifting his size, he grew to a staggering 201 cm.
"So… may we speak of… different matters… now." A warmth that wasn't there previously entered his tone.
A long and awkward stillness accompanied his query.
"Yes…" Seemingly just finding her voice the human-shaped dragon was the one to respond. Her voice was soft almost melodious in nature if not for the lack of emotion.
"May I… have the name… of the visually… pleasing female… in my lap."
Struck off guard by the roundabout compliment Ophis allowed her cheeks to flush.
"I am Ophis. The red dragon is Great Red." Simple and to the point with an emotionless delivery.
Wonderful…
"You asked… what I am… correct?"
"Yes." A gruff and less draconic voice answered. Great Red was now in a much smaller form. His shape stayed the same only shrunk to the point of he was now only about ten meters long. Staying in his position of lying down he gazed right back at the strange humanoid creature.
"I am..." he seemed to ruminate on this question. "A… traveler of… the void… to be put… simply." As if predicting the confusion, he elaborated.
"My… Race? Yes, race… My race… can be called… Void Walkers. We… for simplicity sake… refer to ourselves as… Nomads. We… traverse what you… could call… the fifth dimension." Shocked at what they were hearing they silently waited for him to gather his thoughts.
"If you… were to consider… the human world… third-dimensional… and the supernatural… fourth-dimensional… then my race… exists outside… your understanding… thus… fifth-dimensional. We… in your terms… can be considered as… Primordial Entities. We exist... outside of the... space-time continuum." As insane as it sounded it held logical reasoning. He was an existence above their own, so it made sense about his overwhelming power.
"We… are in… another word… caretakers… of the void. The void… is the area… between different timelines… continuities… universes… and realities. Think of… a grid… for easy… reference. Each continuity sits… on a horizontal axis… a row. For example… an alternate timeline… one where you die. That timeline… sits next to… your continuity. Your universe… is one of many… in that row. Infinite… timelines… that never… stop expanding. This… comes from… multiverse theory… as you… call it. Each universe... and its… timelines… exist… side by side. While… different realities… are stacked on a… vertical axis… a column." While somewhat hard to follow when simplified it made sense. Each version of their universe sat next to each other in an endless line of timelines. Whereas a totally different reality would be stacked on top of theirs while still running parallel. They never touch or interact but viewable while in that void between them.
"Our… self-appointed job… is to make sure… that these realities… never touch… or interact. Universes… can interact… with each other… so long as the… timeline is similar. Again… for example… a timeline… without you… cannot interact… with a timeline… containing a version… of you. Ophis… cannot enter a… timeline where… she does not exist… or a version… of her does not. My… people are born… in the void… so we can move… between the rows… and columns… with impunity. We… do not exist… in the laws… that govern your… perceived understanding." Again, it sounded completely insane. But it made sense when thought about on a simpler level. If you wanted and had the means to you could move to an alternate timeline so long as there was a version of you in it naturally. Anything else was either impossible or came with extreme consequences. Those who naturally exist in the Void are immune to these side effects.
"We… hold the power… to 'step' into… a universe. Much like… what I did… just minutes ago. When doing… this we tie ourselves… to a… 'mortal' form. Whatever… the pinnacle… of evolution is… we take… that shape. Since… primordial beings are… that pinnacle… I had to… make it my… body. If not… I would be… disintegrated… by my own existence… and power." It was a pain to have that be the case. He had found many interesting timelines in his immeasurably long existence. Some were grand forms such as dragons, phoenix's, and elder vampires. But the reverse could be said all the same. One time he had to be a powerful slime and another time he was a mass of assimilated flesh with a mind transcending space-time.
As he finished, he shrunk back to his earlier size. He was content with this form. He liked being small. It made life easier to get through. Small things were cute. Like Ophis. She was cute. Both could change their forms to what they pleased. Being small just meant that you would be underestimated more often. It made combat easier when they didn't have their guard up. Still, it could be annoying at times given human disposition. That being the fact they tried to 'protect' him. It was both irritating and redundant.
Looking back at the duo he would likely spend a large time with he observed them closely. They were more interesting than the last beings he interacted with. The Otsutsuki if he recalled. Unpleasant bunch them. Eating worlds and the works. Kaguya was fun though. Maybe he would invite her here. She could make and move between dimensions. It wasn't hard to believe she could enter this universe if he gave her an anchor.
Bah, he would think about it later. He turned back to the occupants of the Gap.
"I will be… staying for… the time being. I… find this… timeline intriguing." The dragon duo could only gape at the being. A primordial was now staying here!
"I am… a casual observer… as it stands. I… do not interact with… those who remain… important… to the shaping… of the timeline. I… am bound by… the rules set… by my race. We… only chose… direct interference… if things are… abnormal. So, I will… stay in this gap… to view the world."
A long pause settled in the kaleidoscope dimension. There wasn't much to say after the being said that. Neither Ophis nor Great Red could do anything. This being was far beyond them in power. More so he eclipsed them by a large margin. They chose the smart option. They wanted to live after all.
"What is your name?" Was the loli's question.
That stalled his thought. Stumped him. Truly it did. He had no concrete name. He never did. Kaguya only referred to him as her future husband. Other times he was known by names given by mortals. So, I guess the trend would be continued.
"You may… choose my name… Ophis." The dragoness seemed confused. What should she name him? Looking at the bland features of the Gap an unoriginal idea crossed her mind.
"Kūhaku."
"What was… that."
"Your name is now Kūhaku. In the mortal tongue, it means Blank" Kūhaku huh. That was an interesting name. Unimaginative to be sure but it fit very well. Yes. It rolled quite well as he repeated it in his mind a few times.
"Then… I will now… be known as… Kūhaku."
That was all that needed as they fell back into silence.
'This will prove... to be an... entertaining dimension... Very much so... I look... forward to it...' Were the newly named Kūhaku's final thoughts as he summoned hundreds of orbs. Each orb held an image of areas. Heaven, Hell, Earth, Olympus it didn't matter. He watched with veiled interest as mortals and 'immortals' alike did their daily routines. He would do so for hundreds of years.
There ya go. While it's a bit of a shoehorn with Kaguya Otsutsuki I like her as a character. Her goal while skewed and warped made sense in the beginning. She could have proved to be a great villain or even anti-hero. She just suffered from really bad writing.
As for how I'm dealing with Xenoverse and Multi-Dimensional theory. It is confusing and a bit convoluted. Not everyone will get it and that's fine. The biggest take away from it should be this. If the Narutoverse is above the DxDverse they can't interact naturally. People and beings with the power to make and move between dimensions can overcome this to a limited degree. They need a beacon of some sort to make a proper portal. If you are simply flung in there with no planned course that's where you see the normal 'thrown in a portal and end up somewhere else' troupe in fanfics. Kaguya can move between dimensions she made or marked with portals.
As for the Void itself. Think of it as the empty space between planets in our galaxy. You don't know how far in any one direction it is to the next universe. Being's 'born' in the Void don't have this issue. They grow immune to the strain that mortals and 'immortals' suffer from. But the downside of this makes it so entering any given animeverse difficult. Similar to Dark Seid in the DC universe. Void Walkers have so much power they need to seal it away when they enter. And being a Void Walker means you really have no definitive form. You just take the shape and race of whatever that universe can handle.
With my thoughts and explanations done I leave you with this message.
The Dxd Pitch will be taken down in a few days in favor of this chapter.
Anyway, you all know the drill by now...
