So, yeah. I had this idea since, like, volume 5, and ever since then, I wanted to try out my hand at writing an actual insert-OC type o' fic. Also been reading a lot of fics of this theme and my inspiration kinda built up over time. Like a volcano ready to pop. So, anyhow, this is an RWBY Fanfiction in which I will insert my own original OC(s) and have 'em interact with the story. How would that affect the entire original storyline in the long run? Only time will tell really. I might have to go rewatch some stuff to put some stuff together correctly regarding the story, to be honest.

But anyhow, Ima make one thing straight first: OC team? Not gonna happen. Having OC be put with the RWBY team? Not gonna happen. Have them posses a powerful semblance? Who do you take me for? Of course, they'll have something like that, and a good one I came up with to that. And as a bonus, a brand new concept I'm introducing in this. Silver Eyes are kinda boring after some time…so what about new eyes?

And before I forget! The timeline of this begins after Red's little store assault, but also before Beacon officially begins. And before you ask, yes, I am a Roman Torchwick fan, freaking sue me.

(PLS don't)

Anyway, since there is a bit of legal stuff going on with those kinda fics, I do hafta do this:
I do not own RWBY in any way, this is just a work of pure fiction written by a fan of the series(Me), and thus no copyright is intended. There. Done. Now can we please get on with the story? I swear I am boiling like mad over here.

Also, I finally figured out how to do the line you see below. It is going to come in handy in the future, I can say that for sure.

It was a grant day to all Huntsman and Huntress's in training all over Remnant. The beginning of the new semester in which many youngsters are going to try and join the ranks of the Grimm fighters, and thus support humanity as its paragons of strength. That is, well, unless your ship malfunctions mid-way and you're forced to take a train, leaving your precious dust reserves behind.

So on her way to Beacon, the all-important heiress of the well-know Schnee Dust Corporation is forced to take your everyday normal train towards Vale. "Ugh. I can't believe this is happening.." she mutters to herself looking around the train. There were average people and Faunus in there which, taking note of her name, would make her father go nuts if he finds out she's traveling with commoners. "Why did our airship have to malfunction AFTER we left Atlas?" She asked her bodyguard which was sitting on the seat parallel to hers.

"Uh, I don't know, Miss Schnee. I guess it was just bad luck-"

"Bad luck? Is that what you are blaming for your incompetence?" She cut him off, saying this was somehow his fault. "I swear, there are no more good workers around today." She sighed and looked out the side window. The train they were in was going through a snowy mountain range, not far from the border with the Kingdom of Vale. The lifeless scenery moving before her eyes, offering a rather boorish sight.

"Um, I guess we can at least look at the bright part?" Her bodyguard said with caution not to further upset her. The last thing he wants is getting fired. "At least we were able to take one bag of Dust with us."

"Ah, yes." She said looking at him and putting one leg on top of the other. "One large, heavy luggage full of dust. Even crystals are in there, so I guess everything is not so bad after all." she looked at him and looked like she was waiting for a response, but as soon as the poor bodyguard tried opening his mouth..."We had enough dust to last us a year on the ship…" She bitterly pointed out. "How can any of this have any sort of bright part?"

"Right, uhm, sorry for saying that." Poor guy. Having to put up with a snobbish girl like her. But hey, it is what it is, and a man has to work to feed the family. Too bad it sometimes means having to shrink yourself before someone else and kiss their boots.

"Ugh. Can this train go any slower?" Almost as if the universe was mocking her, an announcement played out.

"To all current passengers, we are going to have to make a stop in order to wait for the line further ahead to be freed. Apparently, a small avalanche got triggered and blocked the tracks." And so, the heiress had no other choice than to bury her face in her palms and groan. But to answer her question: Yes, the train can become slower, by stopping.

"Why me?" She asked before leaning her head back on her seat, her ponytail hanging on her shoulder.

"Umm. I'm going to go talk with the staff after the trains stop, alright Miss?" Her bodyguard asked, and to his joy, she made a hand gesture giving him the ok.

She just stood there, waiting for the train, and occasionally looking through the window. There was nothing special about the place they were in; it had low Grimm activity after all and the chances of them encountering them were even lower. Plus, there was one trained Huntsman on board of the train, two if you count her as well even if she is still learning. This day can't get any worse. I swear if I am late to the opening ceremony someone will have to pay. She thought as she waited.

Eventually, the train did stop, and her bodyguard went to check with the staff, leaving her alone with her luggage. Of course, besides the dust, she had her weapon, Myrtenaster; a multi-action rapier which has a revolver-like chamber in its guard where multiple types of dust can be loaded, especially Ice dust since that is her personal favorite. 30 minutes had passed and nothing changed. The passengers even became restless while waiting, but at least some news was delivered in the form of her bodyguard coming back.

"So?" She asked, looking at him while resting her head on her arm.

"Well, good news and bad ones…" he replied with a low voice, almost as if he was trying to smooth things out a little...Oh Gods, how bad are the bad ones? "Good news being that the tracks are already being cleaned!"

"And the bad ones?" To those, the bodyguard shrunk in size as he took a seat. Clearing his throat and trying to find the best words to say this smoothly.

"It will take at least a full 2 hours to finish-"

"Great!" She exclaimed with sarcasm and annoyance at the situation they were in. "As if it was not bad enough I had to travel with the common folk, but now I find out I am going to be stuck here for another 2 hours!"

"Miss Schnee, please, lower your voice!" He said as he noticed some people looking at them and taking note of her small tantrum.

"I will do what I wish, know why? Because I can!" She replied. "This was supposed to be one of the greatest days of my life, and now it has become one of the most upsetting ones I will ever remember!"

"Please, Miss, I beg of you!"

"Then beg somewhere else! Weiss Schnee doesn't take orders from the lesser class." Now she had done it. Flaunting her name around out loud on a train with Faunus onboard is not a great idea! Her family, her father especially, was responsible for the worse types of abuse their kin had to ever endure! And don't think it is a thing of the past either. Scars run deep.

"Hey you, Schnee girl!" Freaking called it. A Faunus man along with 2 friends and a younger woman went to her, staring at her with looks full of hate. "Are you really a Schnee as you say?" The man, who by looks looked like to be a rat Faunus, asked as his friends were cracking their knuckles.

"Indeed I am! And who is asking if not another animal?" At her words, the man barely held back punching her, which was probably for the best seeing as her bodyguard was a pretty well-built individual and a fight that gets them thrown out of the train is most likely not desired.

"This 'animal' lost his uncle in your family's mines and had been raising up his little cousin since" He replied through gritted teeth. "I am here to ask just a simple question…"

"And that would be?" Weiss stood up, her arms crossed as she stood face to face with the Faunus.

Slowly, the man's lips curved into a smile. "Are members of the Schnee family born with a stick up their ass, or is it put there later?"

"What?"

Behind him, his friends and cousin began laughing. "Dude! I didn't think you'd go through with it!" One of them said as he went to his friend for support as the laugh took them. It wasn't long before the entire compartment was laughing, but Weiss was not going to let that one slide.

"In that case…" She muttered then looked at him with a look of pride and a bit of arrogance. "I hope your uncle died a slow and miserable death. Not like you Faunus deserve any other type of death anyway." At that, they all stopped laughing.

"Take that back" The rat Faunus demanded as her words were not just rude, but also lacked any sign of respect towards the Faunus. Heck! If not for them and their so-called labor at her company, then she wouldn't have the money she has now!

"Why should I? You laughed at me and now I am laughing at you. It seems simple and makes us even, don't you think?"

"Miss…" Her bodyguard once again shrunk himself, but not from her, but from the larger amount of Faunus gathering around.

"You damn Schnee!" The rat snapped at her. "You know damn well that without us Faunus, your company would have never become what it is today! Actually, I think that would have been better as people like your grandfather would've learned the difference between honest labor and straight-up abusive slavery!"

Having her grandfather being mentioned really hit the nail on its head, which meant the heiress was not going to back down anymore in this argument, but neither was the Faunus. "Don't you dare speak about my grandfather like that, you animal!" And again, she calls them animals. "Your people are far worse! And all the crimes, thefts, and attacks of the White Fang lately sustain that!"

"And why is it they exist, huh?" Another Faunus shouted from the back.

"He's right! Because of the blasted Schnee Dust Company, the lives of countless Faunus were lived in misery!" And so, the people just got more riled up. Even Weiss noticed how outnumbered she was and even realized that she was best listening to her bodyguard. Well, too late for that now.

"If you ask me..." The rat Faunus reached towards his belt, trying to pull out a knife. "I think it's about time we cut the evil down a bit..."

"What are you-" before she could finish, the Faunus pulled out the knife and tried to jump on her, but Weiss's bodyguard jumped between them in time.

"Miss! Get back!" He shouted as he was holding the Faunus's arms up.

"Damn you...Rick! Sly!" He called out to his friends who advanced forward towards the heiress. her bodyguard tried to stop them, but the rat changed his target to him. The shouting and yelling of the Faunus on board asking for the justice they deserved for the many brethren abused by the Schnee filled the train.

But Weiss was not about to let herself get beaten by a bunch of animals. She kicked Sly back with her leg, then jumped on her seat, grabbing a metallic box from the luggage compartment above. She then had to jump away from the tight space she was put in, so she leaped on her bodyguard's back, then managed to jump all the way to the other end of the crowd.

"Damn..." Sly said as he was holding his stomach. "That girl sure knows how to throw a kick."

"I'll get her!" Rick, who was apparently a leopard Faunus, jumped on the wall then leaped on the other side of the crowd where Weiss was standing. Shortly, all Faunus turned their attention to them. Her bodyguard, unfortunately, couldn't fight a whole crowd, so he was knocked out on the seat.

"Stand back!" Weiss shouted as she got out her weapon and stood in a fighting stance, but the Faunus only smirked at her.

"You ain't gonna do nothing!" He said as he stood straight, waving around a butterfly knife. "If I am right, and I usually am when reading people, you are a huntress in training, which means killing civilians is completely out of the question." He was right and Weiss knew it. If this guy was White Fang or anything else then maybe she would've been excused, but no. Yet, this guy forgot the self-defense policy. Weiss had all the right to use that against them.

"Not if you are the one attacking first..." She replied keeping her stance up.

"You're right about that..." He admitted and put stopped playing with the knife. "But you are just as guilty." After saying that he tried to pounce at her, but a heavy piece of metal was thrown at him, hitting him in the face and pushing him back. The sound of chains was heard as the Huntsmen in charge of the train arrived and pulled back his weapon with the chain that was attached to it.

"What is going on here?!" He asked and looked around, seeing the cornered girl by a bunch of Faunus, the knocked out bodyguard on the seats, some scared passengers that could only watch, and an angry crowd with a few armed individuals among them. But that was not their biggest worry...

Down towards the valley sitting at the foot of the mountain, a pack of beowolfs was gathering around and begun to climb the snowy mountain. Above them being griffons who were heading the same way. And something else...something big and dangerous.

But behind all of those Grimm, there was something else. A humanoid figure climbed into a tree that watched the Grimm advance towards the mountain. And he could feel why they were heading there. "...Why is our nature so rotten" He muttered then vanished.

Back on the train, the angry crowd was kept at bay by the Huntsmen's presence. But he couldn't help but notice Weiss having her weapon out and standing in a fighting stance. "What are you doing? Put your weapon down!"

"Why should I? They attacked me, and I know they will jump at me the moment I let my guard down!" Weiss replied as she tightened the grip on Myrtenaster.

"In the name of the Gods, girl!" The Huntsmen cried out. "don't you realize what is going on here? People are scared, Faunus are angry, this is a negativity cocktail!" After hearing his words, Weiss finally realized what he was trying to warn them about. "Oh, I see, now you get it! This commotion will attract Grimm-" Suddenly, a scream was heard from the other compartment.

"What was that?" Weiss asked.

"Tch. Keep your weapon up actually..." The Huntsmen said as he picked up his weapon, holding the weight with one hand and the chain attached to it with the other, he walked carefully past the crowd which was worried about the screaming and slowly opened the door; Grimm...are what he saw when he did. They got to the train and wasted no time doing their job of slaughter. "Damn it!" He jumped back. "The Grimm are onboard! Everyone! Run to the front of the train and tell them to start this train up!"

"What about the tracks?" One of them asked. "Aren't they blocked by snow?"

"Doesn't matter now!" A howl echoed behind the door before a beowolf broke it down, but the Huntsman was quick to react and throw his weapon at him, knocking him back. "Go!" He shouted and they began going to the front. Some people even picked up the knocked out bodyguard.

Weiss, on the other hand, hesitated to go and stood there. "I will help!"

"Don't be stupid!" He yelled as he could see the Beowolves closing in. "Go with the others! You're a Huntress in training are you not?"

"I am! And as one it is my duty to fight the Grimm-"

"No!" He cut Weiss off as he threw his weapon again, but this time he yanked his chain a bit, making the weight at the end release a small explosion of dust before he pulled it back to his hand. "The duty of Huntsman and Huntress's is to protect the people of Remnant. Don't you even confuse the two again! Now go! I got this."

Weiss stood a moment to think then ran to the front where the rest of the people went, but she didn't realize she was lied to. he didn't have this under control one bit.

Once she arrived at the front they locked the doors, an extra safety against the Grimm. "Is everyone here?" She asked and looked around. It looked like everyone else who was still breathing made it here and the train even began moving again.

"Damn it! This is all your fault!" Rick, the leopard Faunus from earlier said as he held his bloody nose. "If not for you flaunting your name around, the Grimm wouldn't have appeared!"

"That is not true, Rick!" The rat from earlier said, surprising Weiss. "True, she threw wood in the fire, but we all knew the moment she got on board that she's a Schnee!"

"Wait..." Now, this was a chunk of fresh news. "You knew?" Weiss asked as she looked at the Faunus.

"Of course we did! Everything about your looks screams Schnee. " he answered. "But it doesn't matter anymore. We tried getting some payback and look where it got us! We're all at fault for our current issue."

The bodyguard coughed. "Miss..." It seems he was able to get the dust. "Take this...load your weapon in case of anything."

She went to him and looked at his body. He didn't have any wounds that'd suggest bleeding or anything like that, but he did seem to be in pain. The Faunus roughed him up well. "Alright. Rest a bit while I try and find a way to deal with the Grimm"

"You might wanna hurry up..." The rat Faunus said as he looked through the window and saw the Huntsmen getting overwhelmed by the numbers of Grimm which were rushing to the front. "We need help...now!" He jumped back as a beowolf smashed himself into the door, his claws piercing right through.

Weiss loaded her weapon with some of the dust from her luggage and took a fighting stance, watching the door for the moment it brakes down. The chamber with dust in her weapon rolled a bit before stopping, but then, nothing happened. It all went silent. When the Faunus looked over the window again he saw no trace of the Grimm, but he did see the now death Huntsman laying on the floor.

"What happened?" Weiss asked as she kept her stance.

"I-I think we're safe-" Suddenly, something hit the train from the side. A powerful sound of rocks hitting metal echoed as the compartment they were in was sent off the rails and down the mountain, rolling down as it fell and the screams of everyone inside could be heard as they were being tossed around.

Then, when the compartment reached the end of the fall, almost everyone was either passed out or dead. Weiss survived and was able to get up by using her weapon for support. But when she did she found herself face to face with at least 4 beowolf and 3 griffons above her. She inhaled and picked herself up, standing proud before the Grimm. "I will not fall here!" She declared then launched herself at the Grimm with speed, her weapon pointing forward.

She passed by the beowolfs like a daze, then use her semblance, her glyphs, to catch herself and change the trajectory she was going at. She was running around the Grimm, using her semblance to create slippery glyphs to increase her speed before changing her trajectory again and launching herself between 2 beowolfs, cutting down their arms as they tried to pounce at her. "Curses! I could've taken them down!" She said as she kept going.

One of the griffons dived down towards her, but the heiress saw him in time and stopped herself, making the Grimm hit the ground before her and creating an opening; she buried Myrtenaster into the Grimm's chest, killing it. But she then quickly resumed her strategy, dodging the Grimms as much as she could and looking for an opening to strike them down. Finally, one had appeared and she took it, jumping forward taking the heads of 3 of the beowolfs.

"There…" She landed and began breathing heavily. This fight was taking a bit of a toll on her and she could feel her aura being on the low, as expected after surviving such a fall. She knew her stamina wasn't the greatest and this fight put the accent on that issue. "Just 3 more to go…" She muttered then used her semblance to create glyphs mid-air, allowing her to jump up towards the griffons.

The 2 remaining griffons saw her and immediately launched themselves at her, but the heiress had a few tricks up her sleeve for them. She put her weapon forth then let out a cry when she summoned a glyph and spikes of ice erupted from it, fully impaling one of the griffons and shredding the other's wing as it escaped being killed. The heiress then landed, her aura flickering to lessen the damage she would've taken from the fall.

But despite her efforts until now, the damage her aura had to prevent from the fall was more then she expected and when she checked her scroll she saw it being on the borderline between red and yellow. She was in a tough spot, and there were still 2 Grimms to take care of. Although one of them was missing an arm and the other's wing was damaged, meaning it couldn't really fly anymore, they were still 2 dangerous Grimms against 1 tired Huntress. Heck, she was not even a Huntress yet, just a student. But that was not going to stop her.

Weiss put one leg behind the other and put her weapon forth for one last assault, then launched herself at the 2 Grimm. The beowolf attacked first and tried striking Weiss from the front with its remaining claw, but she dodged it by leaning to the left and used the opening to spin around and behead it. But the griffon quickly jumped at her as she stood with her back at it.

The heiress was not stupid though. Everyone knows you never turn your back to anyone in a fight, and she was not doing that. She was baiting it. She kept the momentum from the spin and managed to get face to face with the Grimm, allowing her to plunge Myrtenaster into the Grimm's head from below, killing it.

"There...It's done…" She said as she collapsed on her knees and looked behind. Her bodyguard survived, and so did her luggage...kinda. It was spilled on the ground, crystals of dust all over the snow. Others survived too, but…

"Martin!" The cry of a woman was heard, and when she looked in its direction she saw the woman from earlier which was with the 3 Faunus which walked to her. The rat Faunus from earlier had a piece of wood going through his abdomen, death was instant. She looked down, trying not to feel sadness for the Faunus's death. But in the end, she did feel sorry for the girl. What he told her must've been true; his uncle died in the Schnee Company's mines and he had to raise his cousin by himself.

"Come on, Mar, we have to move. " Rick said as he helped her up. "There might be more Grimm nearby and we cannot stay here."

"He is right…" Sly said as he helped others up. "We have to move. The border is not far from here."

"But, Martin, what are we going to-"

"Inform the Vale authorities. " Weiss said as she walked to him slowly and put her weapon away. "They will come and inspect this place, and even help recover anybody belonging to anyone who survived here or has relatives within the kingdom."

"You again…" Rick muttered before staying up. "Look what you did! If not for you then Martin wouldn't have died!" He began yelling at her, accusing her of his friend's death.

"I didn't do anything to him!" Weiss said to defend herself.

"As if! You Schnee's are all the same…" He turned around and went to his friends, trying to comfort the crying woman. "And to think Martin stood up for a Schnee…"

Weiss didn't try to argue any further and just accepted defeat and went to her bodyguard. He was pretty banged up by the whole ordeal, but he was going to live. On the other hand, her precious dust was spilled all over the snow, and only the crystals remained. "Great...Now I won't be just late for the opening ceremony, but we also lost dust." She muttered.

Her bodyguard slowly got up. "At least you are safe, Miss Schnee."

"Yeah…" But did she being alive had to mean someone else had to die? "How are you? Can you walk?"

"I'll be just fine, don't worry about me, Miss. I will call a ship to come and pick us up in order to arrive at Beacon before the-" Before he could finish, a giant tree was thrown at them, making him duck out of instinct. Everyone watched as another Grimm came out of the forest, but this was not any average Grimm.

"What the- A Geist?" Weiss recognized the Grimm, but she couldn't believe it. A large Grimm with a body composed of trees and boulders was before them, a mask in the center which allows for identifications of the Grimm; The Geist, a Grimm which can possess the things around him and use them to create himself a body to fight with. They have been reported to possess boulders, trees, armors, and even dead bodies of fallen Huntsman. A truly terrifying foe.

"A combination between a Silva and Petra Gigas?" A Faunus asked as he looked at it. 'Screw this! I am out!" Everyone began running away, leaving only Weiss and her bodyguard there.

"Hey, wait! You can't leave me here- Ugh!" And so she found herself standing alone with the Gigas. Low on Aura and already tired from the other Grimm, this seemed like the end for her. I mean, a Gigas? Now? There is no way she can defeat it. She did face and won against an Arma Gigas, but back then she was in top shape when she fought it. Now she was scrapping the bottom of the barrel and had next to no idea how she was going to pull this one.

The Gigas let out an inhuman roar then charged at them, but Weiss was able to grab the bodyguard and jump out of its way. "That thing is faster than a normal Petra Gigas…" She muttered as she analyzed her opponent. The upper parts of its body and right arm were made of boulders, but the left arm and lower parts were made of trees and roots, and seemed to be faster than the average Gigas a bit. The Gigas crashed into the ruins of the train compartment but recovered quickly and turned to Weiss.

"Miss, please, just leave me and run." Her bodyguard said seeing the danger Weiss was in. True, his job implies him to even sacrifice himself for her, but Weiss was not even going to consider that option.

"You stay here, out of the way, and try calling for help. " She said laying him down. "I will buy us some time." The Gigas looked at her as she took a fighting stance then grabbed some rocks from its body and threw them at Weiss, but she was able to block them by raising a barrier of ice. The Gigas was not giving up though. Again and again, it hit the wall trying to break it and get to the 2 humans behind it. The worse part was that it was working as well. Pieces of ice were falling on the other side as Weiss was struggling to keep the wall up with her semblance, but she was already in the red, and it became clear when the Gigas's arm broke through her wall, making her fall backward.

"Miss Schnee!" The bodyguard cried out to her as he saw her fall, but then the Gigas broke the rest of the wall and pulled back its left arm, preparing to strike.

I guess...this is it. She thought as she closed her eyes, accepting her fate. But...then she heard a battle cry from behind the Gigas and a loud sound. She opened her eyes and looked at the Gigas missing its left arm. "What?"

"I'm right here, you giant bastard!" A male voice came from on top of the train's ruins and Weiss turned her head towards that direction. It seems they had a chance. A young man, barely older than Weiss, with black hair, a tall built, dressed in old tattered clothes improvised from animal skins and a pair of large sunglasses perfectly covering his eyes was holding a sword in his hand; A katana by looks, and it seems like he was the one to cut the arm of the Gigas. "What is it? Need a hand?" He taunted the Grimm to grab its attention.

The Gigas turned his back on the heiress and stared at the stranger before reattaching its arm. But one thing was certain now, it was angry. The Grimm let out another inhuman roar and charged at the stranger, but he managed to jump down and dodge the Grimm's strike, letting it hit the compartment once again.

"Let's see if you can keep up…" He remained still until the Grimm turned to him and tried hitting him again, only for him to jump to the side and grab 2 of the crystal's which spilled from Weiss's luggage from the snow. "Mind if I borrow those?" The heiress remained silent and only gave a nod. She was confused as to who was actually saving her and why was he saving her.

But there was another issue at hand: is he a Huntsman? "Wait! You cannot fight it!" Weiss shouted from the side, but her words were ignored by the Grimm and stranger. "Listen to me! I don't know who you are but you cannot hope to fight a Grimm alone without at least an Au-" Her words were cut when she noticed him holding 2 grey crystals in his hand. But...how? Is that his semblance?

The stranger climbed into a tree with impressive speed, hiding in the leaves. The Gigas bashed the tree he was in, then the stranger jumped out from the top and right onto the Grimm's back. "It is time to say goodnight." He stuck the 2 crystals in some crack between the rocks that made up the Grimm's body then jumped off, revealing his other weapon. Beside the katana, he was also using some kind of gauntlet with a few sharp-shaped pieces of metal in it to serve as bullets. But the gauntlet itself seemed poorly made as if he pieces it together from materials he found around the forest. But when he jumped, the projectile inside got a red glow to it, then he fired.

At contact, the crystals exploded, making the Grimm's body fall apart. The Geist which possessed them came out as soon as his body was ruined and looked around, his mask cracked a bit. But that was when the stranger put his sword in his head from behind and sliced it up; killing the Geist. "There…" He stepped on the mask. "That ought to teach you not to attack humans again."

The heiress and her bodyguard were pretty speechless. This stranger just took down a combination of a Silva and Petra Gigas and even finished the Geist off without it even sensing him. Weiss was not stupid and managed to figure out that this stranger has a semblance, and therefore an Aura. "Excuse me?" She said, grabbing his attention, then she cleaned her dress of filth then stood straight before him. "But...who do you think you are?"

A classic of her. Having her pride grazed a bit by being saved doesn't really fall well with her. "The guy who just saved your-"

"Do not finish that sentence!" She cut him off before he could finish. "And who permitted you to save me? Do you know who I am?"

"No." His answer caught her off-guard. There was no way there was a person on Remnant who hasn't heard of the Schnee.

"What? But then why did you-...Were you raised in the woods or something?"

"For a matter of fact, I was." He replied, surprising her further. "I also saw a bunch of Grimm heading towards the mountain, a place where I know there's a railroad with a train and people on it. So sorry if me saving you left a sour taste in your mouth."

"How-..." Weiss stopped herself. It was clear this guy was not one to bend the knee so easily, so she decided to stop it before more Grimm shows up. "thank you…" She said sighting and rolling her eyes. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere to be."

"And where would that be?" The stranger asked walking slowly towards the forest.

"The Beacon Academy" Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. "The place where-"

"The most powerful, brave, and honorable Huntsman and Huntresses are formed." He continued, but not exactly with the same words as Weiss was going to say. "I know of Beacon"

"Oh really?" Weiss went to her bodyguard. "Is that where you learned how to fight?" She asked as she looked at the bodyguard's wounds.

"What do you mean? I am 17." Another surprise. He was no older than Weiss.

"Then what Huntsman school did you follow? We are close to Vale, so you might've been to Signal-"

"None." He replied. "I never really left those woods."

"Just how are you capable of fighting like that then?" At this point, Weiss's patience was running low with this guy. His tone of voice showed no respect for her name, only calm. "Some of us train their whole lives to reach that level, and yet, you show up, no sort of professional training whatsoever, defeat a Gigas, and on top of that, you made me own you."

"For saving your life? No need to own anyone anything" He disappeared into the forest.

"Hmpf. Just who was he anyway-" And this is where she realized. "I forgot to ask him for his name!"

"Miss? If I may, I managed to get through to the Vale authorities, and they will be here shortly." He said holding the scroll in his hand.

"Good. At least there is SOME hope for this day."

The stranger walked towards the heart of the forest until he reached a hut. It was a basic, small wooden hut with a small stone chimney and a cross next to it. From what it seems, it was a grave. Someone died here and this stranger buried them. He went inside, the place is simple in looks with only a chimney, a table, a bed, and a closet. He put the katana next to the bed and laid down, not even bothering to take off his dirty boots.

"Beacon Academy, huh?" He looked through the window at the grave then pulled out an old photo from underneath the pillow. In it were a young boy and an older man behind him, showing him how to hold a katana. "What would've you said, Dad? I have the right age and all, so I might just apply." He talked to the photo.

The door then opened and a familiar face to him appeared, waving around a parasol as she then looked at him smiling. "Hello, Neo. What's with the visit?"

"The reason for our visit…" a cane came inside the hut, and the stranger put the photo away, but he didn't tense up in the least when he saw who came inside. A white suit, grey scarf on the neck, long black pants, and black shoes, a black hat with a feather being held by a red band, long orange hair with bangs covering his right eye; Roman Torchwick. And next to him was his partner, Neopolitan, wearing her usual white and pink attire with a brown corset underneath, black gloves, black and white boots with buttons on each side and necklace's hanging around her neck. Keeping the combination of color you'd see on the ice cream with the same name as her, thus why people usually call her only Neo. " is to make sure you didn't die, kid."

"Very generous of you, Roman, but WHY are you here?" The stranger asked looking at Roman as he sat on the chair next to the table. "Last I remember, you were not too fond of babysitting me."

"that is true. " Roman admitted. "But it wasn't I who wanted to see you, but Neo." the stranger turned his gaze at the shorter woman who raised an eyebrow at him. "You see, my men in the area said something about a train and such in the area, Grimm everywhere, so we rushed here"

"I see. And you came to me because I live in the area" The stranger said and Roman snapped his fingers to confirm it.

"Right on point. But there is also something else I want to know: Did you happen to come across a certain someone?" His sly smile gave it away that he was pretty interested in the information. So the stranger looked at Neo, who gave him a shrug, then he sighed.

"Yes. Apparently some big shot girl"

"That, my friend, was a person which could've brought us a lot of profit and advantages" Roman said as he looked around, noticing the katana and that the stranger was missing a bullet in his gauntlet. "You saved her, did you not?"

"She found herself stuck with that Silva/Petra Gigas I've been telling you about."

"Oh, poor girl." He showed a fake worry. "is she ok?"

"Her Aura was completely depleted and she was running on fumes when I got there. But she wasn't too hurt, or that tired not to raise another ruckus afterward."

Neo let out a soundless chuckle. "Well then…" Roman got up. "I think it is time we leave. We got all the information I needed about- Ouch!" Roman looked down, seeing Neo's heels buried in his foot. He then remembered the other thing they had to do. "Ah, yes, how could I forget?"

Neo smiled seeing as her partner's brain was still working and she went outside, Roman rubbed his foot to ease the pain a bit, then the short lady returned with a fresh set of clothes in her arms that she gave to the stranger. "What am I supposed to do with those?"

"Simple…" Roman stood up. "Look, kid, I and your father used to be friends, and I know he wouldn't want to see you rot away in the middle of nowhere forever. So Neo here thought I'd be a good idea to give you a few gifts"

"Gifts? Wait a minute, Roman, what are you talking about? You even brought up your friendship with my father and I know you don't do that for the nostalgia"

"And you'd be correct. But in this case, there is going to be quite a bit of it going on seeing as you have most of your father's looks" Roman said looking at the stranger. "I mean, you even have his old weapon and everything."

"But how did you know my measurements?"

"As I said, you have your father's looks. " Roman said. "So how about it? Care to try them on?"

the stranger gave it some thought. Roman never gives presents to anybody, not even old friends, or at least from what he knows of. Something simple didn't add up; Why? "Very well, Roman, I will try them. But I have to aks you and Neo to step out for a minute."

"But of course!" Roman got up. "There isn't really any place to change in this place, not even a bathroom. So please, take your time." After that, he stepped out with Neo. The stranger then looked at the new clothes, not taking off his sunglasses even for a second. You couldn't see his eyes through them no matter how close you were, and the reason was that they were not really sunglasses, but one-way mirrors. Just what is he hiding under those lenses?

It took him a minute, but he got the clothes on. "Alright, you can come back in!"

"Oh, thank you, it is very cold outside and- Well, would you look at that?" Roman looked at the stranger with a slight smile. the clothes they got him were not that extravagant; a pair of black boots, long black pants with silver lines running along with a few pockets along the legs for ammo, a silver sleeveless shirt with an emblem resembling a bunch of ash being picked up by wind above the left side and a short-sleeved silver jacket with black details on it. "Truly a blast from the past."

"Roman…" The stranger clenched his fist. "Those clothes are Huntsman appropriate. So tell me, just what is it you want me to-...You can't be serious."

"It seems you finally caught on to my little mischief." He said with a chuckle as Neo came in behind him, giving a soundless whistle to the stranger. "I know your father would've been proud to see you become a good Huntsman, Ash."

Ash, as it seems the stranger was named, had no way to counter Roman's words and simply sighed in defeat. "You are right, he would've been…" He leaned over the table, looking at the grave that must be his father's.

"We prepared some Liens, food, some spare clothes, and we will even deliver a small amount of dust to you once you get settled in." Roman continued as Ash looked outside, noticing the bag sitting in the snow.

"And where are you going to ship me out to? Heaven?" Ash asked.

"Although it would be funny seeing you not just looking but also going to the same Academy as your father, no. You, Ash Auburn, are going to Beacon." Roman's words earned a surprising reaction from Ash, which put a satisfied smile on Roman's face. "But…"

Ash sighed. "Knew it. You do not have any connections which can hide me having no actual official training at a Huntsman school, thus there is no way they will accept me into Beacon" Ash said looking at Roman with a disappointed glare which, despite not being able to see it, Roman could feel it.

"Look, all I know is that your father said the katana, named Somnium Cavas, would be your ticket in."

"My ticket in-..." Ash remembered something his father told him once. Something about the headmaster of Beacon, Ozpin.

"Listen to me, Ash, the headmaster of Beacon is not to be trusted. But if there is something that man is good at then that is keeping secrets. If you ever go to Beacon, make sure to meet him and arrange something with him."

"But how would I do that Dad?"

"Just show him your eyes."

"But you said to never take off my glasses in front of anyone!"

"I know, I know. But when you meet Ozpin, take them off so he can see your eyes. After that, tell him your name and he will know what to do further."

"I think I can manage that part by myself. " Ash said, grabbing Roman's attention.

" Are you sure? If anything, I can always have Neo sneak in some fake files here and there with some great recommendations as well."

"There will be no need. " Ash said as he picked up Somnium Cavas and walked outside. The wind was starting to pick up a bit. "I will be alright."

"You might want to do something about your own weapon as well." Roman pointed out looking at the poorly made gauntlet on his wrist. "Don't take it the wrong way, I know you have talent kid, but that is a bit…"

"Trash looking?" Ash continued and Roman nodded to confirm. "Don't worry, I will only carry around until I reach Beacon, then I am going to ask for a workshop to finally make this into the weapon I desire."

"As you wish." Roman walked outside along with Neo. "Our ship is just a bit west from here. We can help you get into Vale easily."

"Why? No fake passport?"

"Money doesn't grow on trees!" Roman replied then started walking, followed by Neo and Ash.

They arrived in Vale eventually after a bit of a rough ride trying to avoid the police and went to Beacon. But they found themselves somewhat late.

"Damn it!" Roman cursed. "They already launched the kids into the woods." He was at the commands of the ship they were in, flying just on the outskirts of Emerald Forest. They were hoping to arrive a bit after the opening ceremony, but it seems they had no such luck. Avoiding the police proofed to be more difficult than they thought and hence why they had to spend the night in a warehouse near the docks. The only bright side of that was they managed to get Ash a scroll and ID papers while there and that a certain someone was not there at the given time.

"It seems your father's wish will have to wait for another year-Hey!" Roman didn't have to finish as Ash jumped off the ship into the woods below, but Roman was not upset by that or anything. he lit up a cigar and simply started going away. "Just like his father."
