CHAPTER 1: THE AGELESSNESS
Kagome is now one hundred and eighteen years old but still looks like she did when she was eighteen. She is gorgeous, even for a human. An hourglass figure with large breasts that weren't overwhelming, rounded hips that looked like they were sculpted by the gods, and a round backside to make her hips look even more full. Even her miko robes could not hide her physique. Beautiful hands at the ends of her long, toned arms with long legs that were defined with muscle, but not to much. Deep blue eyes, like sapphires, and hair that went past her waist with a smile that could stop hearts in an instant.
Powerful. Even more so than most demons that roamed the land. Each week there was a new enemy. Whether it be human or demon, she didn't care. Over the years, her temper mimicked Inuyasha's, to some degree. She never went charging into danger without assessing her opponent, but even she had to admit to herself at times that her rage had increased tenfold.
Ever since she had wished the Shikon Jewel out of existence, she had felt different. More powerful than she ever had thought possible and she wondered if that was the reason why it took her eight years to master her powers while in training to be High Priestess. It certainly made sense, considering.
She had gotten very good at hiding her aura and reiki. She still trains daily, practicing with her powers and with physical fitness. The toned muscles and abs were what she worked on most when in physical training. She does for two hours in the morning and afternoon to keep herself fit.
Her fitness routine was a harsh one. She kept a a schedule for morning and evening so she could train. She wanted to stay fit and well practiced so that she was never caught of guard. She would always protect herself and those around her.
Inuyasha had not been Kagome's love for some time. Although she did still love him and he would always hold a very special place in her heart, she couldn't forget what he had done. He had gone to Kikyo in secret while with her at the same time. He wanted both in his life but Kagome was never one to share the one she loved with anyone else. So, one night, Kagome followed Inuyasha. What she saw broke her heart and she appeared before them. Inuyasha was horrified because he knew Kagome was heartbroken. He could see it in her deep blue eyes.
"I am not angry, Inuyasha...Just hurt that you would do such a thing behind my back..." Kagome stated, looking away.
Inuyasha got up quickly with Kikyo and he was before Kagome without her realizing. "I want both of you in my life, Kagome...I don't know how to just turn off my feelings for either one of you..." Inuyasha said softly and Kagome gave him a sad smile that made his heart constrict painfully in his chest.
She didn't have to say it. He knew that wasn't what she wanted. "Inuyasha, I know that you love me and that you love Kikyo just as much, but I can't...You know that isn't a situation I would put myself in. I'm just hurt that you couldn't come to me and tell me directly..." Kagome said, tears streaming down her face.
Inuyasha's ears fell flat against his head and he took Kagome in his arms, holding her tight. Tears threatening to break free from his eyes so he closed them just as tight. Kikyo said nothing as her head hung low with her eyes closed.
Kagome was the first to pull away and she, along with Inuyasha, felt an emptiness. She placed a hand on his cheek and he leaned into her touch, eyes closed tight with his ears still flat. "You will always have a place in my heart, Inuyasha...I want you to be happy and be in love." Her voice was soft as she spoke.
She placed her other hand on his other cheek and pulled him down gently towards her. She kissed his forehead tenderly and the tears that burned his eyes finally broke free and cascaded down his face. She pulled away and wiped his tears with a smile that took his breath away. "I'm sure that we will see each other again, Inuyasha..." She said and pulled away from him, turning to Kikyo.
"Watch out for him and love him, Kikyo. He deserves happiness and so do you after all the both of you have been through." Kagome said sternly and Kikyo nodded.
She began to chant a spell quietly to herself. What happened next shocked both Kikyo and Inuyasha. Kikyo began to rise from the ground with a soft white glow around her. Color began to creep its way through her body and back into her face.
Kagome chanted a little louder and Inuyasha watched Kagome, dumbfounded. He couldn't speak, not a word as Kikyo's heart started to beat at a normal rate and her soul collectors disappeared into thin air. Warmth began to radiate off of her again. As Kagome's chant slowed, Kikyo descended back to the ground on her feet as the glow disappeared.
Kikyo's eyes fell to Kagome and she had to admit to herself that Kagome truly was the strongest miko that she had ever seen. Possibly even more so than Midoriko herself! To be able to give the gift of life to her so she could be with Inuyasha was something she would always be grateful for. And with that, Kagome left. Not saying another word to either of them.
Inuyasha went to protest when he felt Kikyo's warm hand on his chest. He looked down at her as she shook her head, not saying anything. He knew what she was telling him, without even saying it. She was telling him that Kagome needed to move on and learn to cope with the heartbreak of losing Inuyasha. He felt a sharp pain in chest as he looked back to to Kagome's retreating form, his eyes full of sadness.
Kikyo stayed quiet as she watched Inuyasha. She could tell that he was in pain and understood why. As much as she hated to admit it, Kagome really was beautiful, strong, level-headed, and kind hearted. She looked towards Kagome and watched her person disappear into the tree line. Thank you...Kikyo thought to herself.
As the years started to pass, Kagome hadn't realized that she was ageless until Sango and Miroku began to show signs of aging. Their children grew, became adults, and had children of their own. Still, she did not age. She watched as her closest friends grew old and passed away. It was hard for her.
Even Rin could not escape death. She had married Kohaku and 6 children with him. They lived a long and happy life. Sesshomaru would always visit every few months to bring gifts for Rin and her children. It always made Kagome smile at how Sesshomaru was secretly a very kind and gentle man. She never associated him as the ruthless demon he used to be, even though he had tried to kill her on more than one occasion in the past. She never held it against him and she respected him nonetheless. They would pass each other in the village every time he would visit with Rin.
She could always sense him, so she would stop whatever it was she was doing, turn to him, and bow until he past her, or each other as they walked. At first, it surprised Sesshomaru. He never showed it because he would never let anyone see him falter from his stoic persona. Still, it surprised him the first few times she would bow to him. After a while, he would incline his head to her in return as a sign of respect for her. He appreciated her respect and wanted to give some back since she had earned his.
Kagome protected Rin and her children many times over whenever Kohaku was away. Rin always told Sesshomaru of Kagome's bravery in the face of many terrifying demons. She told him that Kagome had killed fifteen demons one day with her arrows and swordsmanship skills. The way she would charge at them head on, hearing the ringing that the swords would make as the clashed, the way Kagome would thrust her body over her enemy and impale them through the back. Her form was always spot on, never faulting, never stopping. Sesshomaru was impressed with the stories of Kagome's single-handed battles that Rin would so often tell him. Earning his respect to the point that he would surprise Kagome every once in a while with a gift. Usually an elegant kimono or a new weapon of a different style for her to train and master with.
After several years, he would stop to visit with Kagome before he left the village each time he showed up. She never minded, of course, because she enjoyed the company and intelligent conversation. Kagome had never thought that Sesshomaru, the 'killing perfection,' was such a conversationalist under the hard and callused exterior. He was just a man looking for some kind of companionship or a friend. Of course he had Rin, but needless to say, he found one in Kagome. She was grateful for the opportunity to get to know Sesshomaru on a more personal level. He was never one to smile, other than when he was with Rin, but with Kagome...He smiled nearly every time he would visit. Even a small laugh or chuckle would escape him every now and then.
Sesshomaru watched Kagome with intent as she sat next to the fire in her hut while she made them both tea. She was dressed in a simple blue kimono that was cut a little low and showed a bit of her cleavage. He cocked his head to the side for a better angle to see her figure. He looked her up and down slowly, taking in her every curve. He had been meeting with Kagome like this for the past eighty years and, thought she was technically around the age of 118, she didn't look a day of 18. Even after Rin passed away, he still came to visit her family and Kagome every few months. He loved to see her face light up when she saw him. She would always stop whatever it was she was doing and go to him with open arms. They would pull each other into a tight hug and that was something he always looked forward too. Other than Rin, he allowed no one, aside from Kagome, to embrace him.
His gold eyes looked at her beautiful, slightly sun kissed skin and he wondered what she tasted like. He wondered how her body would react to him placing his large, clawed hands on her while kissing her every inch. He shifted when he felt his manhood go full erect, somewhat embarrassed but he was good at hiding it. He noticed that it was dark out. Usually he would have been on his way by now, but he just wasn't ready to be.
They sat and talked while they drank tea. Sometimes they would reminisce about old times and the people they had lost over the years. As Sesshomaru finished his tea, he looked over to Kagome and noticed her staring at him. She blushed a very cute shade of pink and looked away quickly. He smirked and put his teacup down. "Sorry...I shouldn't have been staring." Kagome said softly making Sesshomaru look at her curiously. "Why do you apologize?" He asked and Kagome looked at him, still blushing. "Honestly? I thought of...something..." Kagome said blushing even darker as she looked away again.
Sesshomaru placed his forefinger under her chin and pulled very gently to make her look at him. Blue eyes met his gold ones and Kagome blushed darker. "Tell me what you thought, Kagome. You've made me curious as to why you blush so deeply." Sesshomaru rumbled, his voice low, only for Kagome's ears. He leaned in close turning her head to the side just a little so his mouth was oh so close to her ear. "Tell me..." He growled low in his chest and it made Kagome shiver.
