Hello guys. I received a lot of reviews to change the Jumpchain form of my work. I assumed people enjoyed the form instead of a multiverse hopping as Jumpchain usually gives a structure and limit to the Jumper making the fanfiction enjoyable without the mess of different worlds crossing over.
As such, I read the grossly negative reaction to abruptly shifting to Jumpchain and decided to delete all my fictions to give myself a fresh start.
About this fiction work
This fiction came as an idea after seeing the Percy Jackson Crossover fics. I wanted to try my hand at it. This is just to try Naruto world with a fresh start.
As a Disclaimer: Expect the usual Naruto world cliche, SI exploiting the Iryojutsu, Fuinjutsu and genetic manipulation to gain Sharingan and Rinnegan thereafter. And, the SI MC will be a OP character by the time Fourth Shinobi World War comes knocking!
Also, this won't be absolute noob beginning with the new world, MC will be beginning as Chunin in Kirigakure.
Also just to put this out there, Neither Percy Jackson or the Naruto world and its characters belong to me, but to their respective creators.
With that, let's begin! Wish me luck!
Ch. 1: Where am I?
The bright winds and mellow ocean air wafted in my nose, and I felt my bleary eyes pushed to its ultra-alert state. I was in my room, preparing for my exams, while also preparing for the Reports I needed to submit on a deadline. A part-time Masters student working during exams is not unheard of. But to have three exams back to back in the week, and a Monthly Report pending on the same date was not a happy situation.
And with overworked students as is the norm, instead of the outlier, pulling an all-nighter with three hours of sleep for entire week had drained my mind and even my spirit. And suddenly feeling the loss and absence of the bitter taste of caffeine, or the persistent ache in the lower back, a swell in the eyes and the slight ache at the base of my skull was immediately noticed. Not to mention the change in posture, as I was suddenly standing instead of dragged over my chair with my fingers glued to my laptop.
I felt my attention come to the forefront as I noticed a small wet feeling at my nape, a dreary feeling, and the wet sandals ans trousers upto my knee. I suddenly registered the change in sights, as the claustrophobic small room was replaced with open land, and I noticed I was on a beach. But I felt sick, as my eyes saw the gore around the beach, as the sands were drenched in red, gore and remains scattered along the lands as far as I could see.
Dismembered corpses and torn limbs and gore abound could be seen as far as the horizon. I stood on the beach, knee-deep in water, my body wet but not shivering despite the cold winds.
My eyes saw the signs of fight ensuing all around, and what looked like people fighting with knives and cold weapons like swords and spears.
But I saw a woman, orange-haired stand against five men and put her hands together. Something about it looked awfully familiar and I belatedly realised what, when the woman breathed in, and spewed a large wave of lava from her mouth.
I saw the water boil, and the men scream in pain, as their skin scalded and the men turned into corpses and burnt to a crisp. My shock was pushed at the back of my mind, when the woman set her sights on me, and leapt in air as she landed in front of me.
"You alright Arashi?" She asked me, as I saw my mouth was still held in shock. She giggled in such an unexpected way, given what she had just done before.
"You in awe of your big sister, sweetie? Oh Oh my. You are bleeding baby brother. Let me take care of that."
Saying that, she lit up her hand, and used her green glowing hand on my head, as the wet feeling faded away, and the lightness that was slowly creeping in my head was washed away.
"There you go. You'll manage?" She asked me in concern, and I felt my head give an empty nod.
As she leapt away, I suddenly noticed my memories come to my mind, as it wasn't like I was suddenly hit with memories not my own. I realised that I already had access to two parallel memories, one of a twenty two year old Masters student, and the other of a Thirteen year old Chunin born to a Terumi Clan Mother and a Kaguya Clan Father.
I was given away by Kaguya Clan, when they saw I did not exhibit Shikotsumyaku, a Kekkai Genkai of the Kaguya Clan showed amongst only a few clan members. Without it, I had no importance to the clan, and because I showed a surprising amount of chakra natures: namely Fire Earth and Water, the Terumi Clan took me in, and I stayed with my mother.
As a child, I showed talents with ninjutsu, as I was trained in all elementary nature transformations as was everyone in clan, and I surpassed my contemporary and even those two or three years older. I was hailed as their clan prodigy, as I mastered Lava Release at the age of eight.
Contrary to what people were made to believe, Kekkai Genkai were different from the Advanced Nature Transformations as anyone who has mastered two different elementary natures from the five known affinities namely: fire, water, earth, wind and lightning, could learn to mix the chakra in right ratio and develop the advanced nature Transformations.
This was a secret of the Kiri Kekkai Genkai clans, who knew that developing the nature transformations like Lava, Boil, Ice, Storm, Explosion, or even the legendary Wood Release, was a matter of skill, and not of birth.
Also, besides developing the chakra nature, the other issue was developing the Jutsu related to that nature. The clans had history of people who had various Jutsu created and recorded in the libraries of each clan, and in Kiri, there was a strong dependence between each Kekkai Genkai Clan, who often fostered children of other clans who showed talents in other clan's Kekkai Genkai.
That is why, the child is often tested very early in life, to know where to foster them. Often there was no difference, as the child born in Hoshigaki Clan was born with excellent Water Affinity, Those born in Yuki clans were born with excellent Wind and Water Affinities. If their Wind Affinity was stronger, they trained in Ice Release. If they were strong in Water, they were trained in Steam Release and made to focus on Kirigakure no Jutsu.
But all that information was left to the back of his mind, as his entire life and skills earned and learnt with sweat and blood came rushing through his mind.
He realised that the magical energy that flowed through his veins was a strong prime mover of this world, as he recognised it as a fictional world centred around a Blonde Jinchuriki who was a reincarnation of the son of the Legendary Sage of the Six Paths.
And as he realised the talents and skills brought him to a level of skill of a Chunin, he had to wonder what is he doing on this battlefield, and more importantly, WHEN WAS HE?
This was clearly not a dream, nor was it a hallucination, as he could sense things with too much clarity. If this was a supremely lucid dream, where he coherently created memories of another life, he either was in a coma, or equally likely and another possibility, he was somehow transported to a fictional world, one based in a Manga and a popular shonen anime, about a hardworking Failure and his power of Friendship and Plot Armour.
If what he knew of this world was true, then things were going to get a lot worse, and the only hope to survive was to hide behind a giant rock, where even moon doesn't shine! OR find the different ways shown in cannon anime, manga and movies to gain power and abilities to rival the villains of this world.
But as he tried to access the recent memories, he realised the briefing from the Jounin Platoon Leader, about the invasion plans on Uzushiogakure.
And right now, he was on the island, after the Barrier Seals were brought down. He was the frontline fighter, given his Lava Release and superior control with Water Jutsu as he was one of the prodigies with Suiton Jutsu (Water Techniques).
As soon as he made his mind to make a difference, he jumped into the air to test his abilities. He was a Chunin, and had been born with a large chakra reserve, which had only grown due to relentless clan training.
He was a promising young man with a lot of potential, and the woman earlier was the new Clan Leader who had just taken up the position.
Running on water, he pushed chakra at his feet, as he leapt about twenty feet in air, and instinctively angled his body to land in the sand where he saw a Kiri Shinobi retreating and chased by three enemies.
He hadn't seen a lot of alive red head Uzumaki, but given their fabled chakra prowess, he hoped that he never met them in battle.
Landing just behind the chasing enemy, he weaved hand signs and noticed his abilities came a lot smoothly with muscle memory, as even after deciding what to do, his mind was muddled. He realised standing still, he would be an easy target, and not fighting with his allies would raise suspicion. And he didn't fancy being questioned as to why he stopped fighting.
As he realised all these things, his hands were not idle, as Kunai landed into three of the enemies, while another kunai with exploding tag hit the back of the enemy further away.
None of them had a chance to react, as subconsciously, I had used chakra in my arms to increase the momentum. The blast of the Exploding tag made chunks of the man fly in all directions, and I had already jumped away to where I noticed more enemies gather in one place.
After seeing a clear way from the beach to the town, where fights were heating up, I decided to push further inside.
I ran from the tall trees which began about two miles from the beach, and immediately leapt to the dense foliage. I made a handseal and using Henge made a camouflage on my vest and face.
Now safe from any enemies, unless sensors were monitoring my area, I leapt inwards, and noticed the increase of Red Heads who were leaping in hurry to reinforce. I stayed still for a minute, when there were about eight Uzumaki together.
None of them were sensors it seemed, as no one changed path to intercept me.
And using chakra to stick to the tree, I leapt away using the thick stem as a Jump board. The jump landed me in the end of the foliage as I found myself looking at the hurrying forces with a lot of Red Head ninja running around.
It seemed I was at the very start of the Invasion, and the Uzumaki are just now mounting their defence. Looking at the Uzumaki, I realised I could warn them of their impending doom, or salvage what I can to strengthen myself and those who I would care about.
Even if the few Uzumaki shown in media were kind and endearing, I had no kind and soft bone in my body. And given this new body had to kill the civilians at the tender age of nine to graduate from the academy, I had no moral compunction to break character or save the Uzumaki.
With that thought, I shed my Chunin Flak Jacket and put my head band in a secure pocket. I had the average Jet Black Hair and pale face, so there was no identifying clan mark on me.
And given I just shed my Chunin vest and Kiri Head band, I could perform an easy recon. I noticed no sensor alerted to my presence, as noone was especially looking at me.
My tools were secured in their pouches, and I could appear as a Uzushiogakure force, if I looked around. I had the basic genjutsu pat down, as I could block or subvert the sense of sight and hearing using at least C-Rank Genjutsu.
I looked for a viable target, and pushed my Genjutsu on the Chunin. To my surprise however, he resisted the Genjutsu and was instantly alerted. "Intruder! Someone just tried to put me under genjutsu."
That threw up a fit of panic, as clear guards ran forwards and began to check identities around me. Shocked at my failure, I immediately used the Iwagakure no Jutsu I had mastered for such a hasty exit, and immediately dropped into the ground, and landed in an empty alley.
I noticed no one around, as I entered the building and saw it was a regular clerical office. There were some scrolls in a shelf, a woman packing things up, while a man stood pointing at a few things arrogantly.
I shifted behind the man, jumped to reach his head, put one hand on his open mouth, pulled the kunai pouch open and slipped the sharp kunai through his throat. I had pulled the kunai away to let the arterial spray hit the empty wall, as the man choked on his own blood gurgling in shock.
I saw the man was slowly bleeding out, as I appeared to simply nick artery and not shred through. The blood kept spraying out as the man looked at me with grudge, despair and fear.
Looking away, I noticed the man wasn't seen or heard by the helper or the woman. Quickly killing the helper, I used chakra at the soles of my sandals to stick to the wall, and as she turned to put the last scroll inside the bag, I pulled out ninja wire and wrapped it around her throat and jumped down with a tug.
The sharp wire bit into her skin, as her throat was slit and her eyes bulged. My momentum downwards dragged the woman as she fell on the ground with my wire tightly wrapped around her bleeding throat. This was a easier kill, as the woman was light, and was looking away from me.
Easier too, as there was no messy blood to stay clear of. Looking through the scrolls, I realised that the scrolls were actually Fuinjutsu Scrolls. Inspecting quickly, I put the useful and rare ones in a storage scroll on my person, and looked around.
Knocking down each wall, and pulling off each floor board, I found a lot of stashed scrolls and even weapons around. Taking as much as I could, I restock my supply, and store them for later in my storage scrolls.
I had limited number of scrolls, so taking only what was rare or useful according to both the sets of knowledge in my mind, I went to the roof, and jumped into the next building.
For the next three hours, clearing buildings, as I inspected the building and found nothing as useful as the first, I kept jumping buildings and marking the useless ones. There were Shops, Restaurants, Underwear Shops, Shinobi Bars, Trading Centres, and other useless building blocks nearby.
It appeared my beginner's luck had run out.
Coming to the end of the block, where I saw the Pleasure District start, I turned the other way and began to find other useful targets.
Finding none, I went towards the centre of the village, as I saw I was still undetected surprisingly. It appears the panic had set in, and the village was on high alert to either stand their ground or evacuate.
"Go inform Joichiro, the northern border has been breached, those bastard from Iwa are coming from ships." A red head told one of the plain looking man, who nodded.
Someone who gave orders and issued commands was not a weak ninja. Thinking so, I lowered my presence, and hid behind the roof. I saw the man run in the crowd, towards the south, as a large crowd left towards the forest and thus to the beach.
Now that the village centre looked so empty, I watched as a large number of Uzumaki members were present in the defending force.
Finding cover, I back tracked towards the large building in the centre, as I jumped the roof. Only to come to a screeching halt, when I came face to face with a red head man who looked at me with scrutiny.
"Who are you?" the man asked, as he looked like a buffed man. Clearly he was a strong shinobi, given his large stature, red head and serious demeanour.
"I was sent by Hiroshi-sama to inform Joichiro-sama that the northern part was breached, and those bastards from Iwa are coming through on ships. And in the southeast, the Kiri forces have been pushing forward with some orange-haired woman who spit lava from her mouth."
I tried to inform meekly.
"Have you not met Joichiro before boy?" The man asked, his stance relieved.
I was surprised how easily I could lie. "No, I was fighting the Kiri bastards, when I saw our runner bleeding in the forest. I tried to bandage him, but he told me to go to the centre and inform Joichiro. Before I could help, he was gone."
I put my memories of the death I first witnessed here and tears came down my cheeks.
"You nearly fooled me bastard." The man said as he threw a punch, which I hastily ducked under, drawing a kunai in one hand, and three shuriken in another.
"What gave me away?" I asked as I leapt back and saw the man pull out a sword.
"Joichiro is in the West and he is our Jounin Commander. How could any one in Uzushio become a Shinobi and not know our clan leader's son?" So saying, he threw a kunai at me, which I dodged quickly, and threw my kunai at the man, while pulling ninja wire and throwing the shuriken through the ends of the wire and throwing them toward the man.
He had seen me use the wire, and sneered as he was out of the wire's reach, but that was a distraction, as I rolled exploding tags with the wire and activated the delay.
The tag exploded as the roof collapsed into splinters, and I was forced to use Iwagakure no Jutsu to go through the earth and into the Building opposite to where I stood.
"You cannot run away, you bastard. I will find you soon." Theal man yelled, as I held my breath metaphorically for him to go away. I had realised I could sense a little, not overly much, but enough to know that a huge blob of chakra has just gone the other way.
For safety concern, I waited as I had no trouble breathing. After I thought sufficient time has passed, I looked around, and used a Henge. I had noticed what the Uzumaki forces were wearing and who wore the clothes of the regular grunt.
Dressed as needed, I ran into what I recognised as the clan buildings, as there were different merchant and other clan houses located here.
Finding the Uzumaki Clan District was not too difficult, as they were the prominent and ruling Clan of these lands. Entering stealthily, I found my way to the inside of the compound, which was almost empty.
I entered within the halls, and immediately saw a lot of servants and other people packing stuff, while a lot of Red heads were supervising.
As a Kiri ninja, I had a lot of Water Jutsu, and I tore a bamboo stem, and used the Water Jutsu to make a water based lens on the dried bamboo stem. Holding it in hand, I used the Iwagakure no Jutsu, and came to the base of the compound and spied with the makeshift spy periscope.
I saw the Uzumaki was a brat, as he kept tapping his foot and was impatient and rude. I saw the servants work hastily, and afraid of offending the rude brat.
Deciding to do something about it, I pulled a kunai and threw it at the brat, who suddenly dodged it and faced me. "Finally things are getting interesting. A bug comes to get squished."
The servants ran, to their demise that is, as I had spewed a large glob of Lava Release Jutsu covering the exit. The brat looked at the screaming bodies of the servants in wonder, as he faced me with seriousness.
"You shouldn't have done that. I will show you bastard."
I decided to test the boy, as I left the bamboo with the water lens on it in place, while I went below the Japanese type floors which were on a raised platform to prevent flooding.
I saw the boy shoot a Earth Spikes jutsu at my previous location, and his sneer was replaced with annoyance as he missed me.
Using the Water chakra, I pulled on it from the nearby pond, and threw fine water spears at the Uzumaki who leapt away and dodged.
Deciding to fight close range, I used Kawarimi no Jutsu (Substitution Technique) to substitute with a kunai and threw a blind kick, as I was disoriented from the sudden appearance near the brat.
The kick didn't connect, as the Red head dodged, and threw his fist the same way the strong man did earlier. Realising it is probably a clan taijutsu technique, I used the sword left untouched from the start, and drew it in a swift trajectory, drawing the blade as it defended from the kunai strike the ninja tried. The sword out and held in two hands, I faced the tip towards the enemy, as I adjusted my grip for comfort.
The right hand was holding the Tanto firmly, while I pulled on my own modification, a piece of cloth tied to the handle of the blade for this purpose only. Pulling the ribbon apart, I swung the sword and threw it towards the enemy who looked shocked but dodged nonetheless, and smirked as the sword went sailing above his head.
I smiled too, as I was using the trap routine I trained with my Big Sister who healed my head earlier.
Passing water from the seal, into the cloth, I send the chakra at the tip of the cloth in my hand as it stiffens in response. The cloth made from a special chakra conducting fibre, similar to the one used by Suna Forces.
The cloth was a gift to encourage me to improve my Water Nature Transformation, and I made a D-Rank technique out of it, which didn't drain a lot of chakra.
The cloth stiffened and tug at the sword which the enemy realised with wide eyes and jumped to his left. But the cloth technique was a lesser version of chakra strings, which required cloth as material medium, but compensated for range with minute chakra requirement.
It had no name, and was not very useful, as people could get used to the technique and easily dodge it. Also, the cloth was not much resilient and durable, a good two strikes with the sword and the cloth was cut of and the sword was lost.
In Kiri, disarming yourself of a sword was tantamount to defeat, and thus such a technique which risked just that, was heavily discouraged and frowned upon. But, since the cloth was used a mask for other clan techniques, the original Arashi had kept the cloth on him.
As of now, I tugged at the cloth with chakra, and saw as the sword lodged itself into the thigh of the red head, who gasped in pain. Leaving the sword there would be useful to the enemy, as the blade stopped and plugged the bleeding.
So, I pulled it out, and and rolled the cloth on the sword, as the bleeding Uzumaki crawled away in fear from me, his voice stuck in his throat.
Deciding to put him out of his misery, I threw a kunai with trained accuracy, as it was speared into his chest, where his heart should be. My superior sense of hearing registered the crack of the ribs as the kunai grazed his rib cage and found itself inside his heart.
I saw the enemy look at me with sheer resentment and hatred, and I looked away unable to watch his dying face. I knew what I was doing was unethical, savagery and sheer psychopathy.
I was a serial murderer and a cold blooded killer. But if it kept me alive and ticking in this violent world, with world-ending monsters and threats, I would gladly offer innocents on a plate.
As I saw his breath slow to a crawl, his eyes glassy and his body getting colder, I checked his pulse, cleaned my kunai and left picking the sack of documents I saw the servants fill.
All for my survival! And who knows, perhaps this is all just a really bad dream?
