PROLOGUE
"How long has it been?" I muttered. Without any emotion behind my voice. Complete apathy.
"How long have I spent in this… place?" And finally some emotions came out. Anger. Rage. Hatred. Disgust. And many more negative feelings towards the mention of my current residence. Which is nothing.
Nothing at all. A complete Void.
I can remember it very faintly. Pain, heat, shadows and then shadows started to cloud my vision. Until a complete darkness took over everything, as I lost consciousness. No intention of waking up again.
But then I did. I woke up. Fat lot of good that did. There was nothing. Everything around me was darkness.
I couldn't hear anything. Hear anything. Smell anything. Feel anything.
I simply drifted in an eternal darkness.
How long have I been here. How long since I lost every feeling in my body. How long… until it ends.
Hello candidate.
What was that?! A voice?! But from where?!
From nowhere and everywhere.
I don't understand! Where?! Is this some kind of hallucination?! Can a voice even be a hallucination?! Or is this some new torture the void has for me?!
The candidates sanity and mind has been damaged.
Searching for possible solutions…
Solution found!
Skill Gamer's Mind EX will be activated in candidate in order to negotiate.
And then I was calm. All the anger, hate disappeared along with other negative feelings and my confusion. Everything became clear.
Candidates mental health has been repaired.
Once again, hello candidate.
"Hello, who are you?"
I am the system of Greater Analyzed Master Expedition as known as
G.A.M.E. system
I should probably be shocked or something similar but… it just didn't feel shocking as it actually was.
"You mean a system from Manhwa Gamer thing."
Close. While I am similar to the system you speak of, we are not the same.
This doesn't exactly tell me anything.
Congratulations. You have died.
Again this should probably have shock me but I had actually accepted the fact that I was more than likely dead a very long time ago.
"So what happens now?"
If the candidate shall accept it, he shall go to life in another world with me. In which case the candidate shall be renamed as the "Contractor"!
"A new world? Like those Isekai bullshit?"
Correct!
I don't even needed to think. Any world would be better than this meaningless existence in the void!
"I accept."
Candidate has accepted the contract. Candidate shall be renamed as the Contractor.
Do you have any questions before starting, Contractor?
Well, there is one question that I needed answered.
"Why didn't I feel any shock at your words? Even now I don't feel anything. Every decision is made through logic. Why is that?"
When the Contractor was found, his mental health was damaged. In order to fix it, I was forced to activate the skill, Gamers Mind EX.
Gamers Mind EX? Well Gamers Mind is a concept used a lot in Gamer stories I have read. But what does that 'EX' mean?
"Can you tell me the difference between Gamers Mind and Gamer Mind EX, eh…"
The Contractor can call me anything it wishes.
"Then I think I will cal you… 'Simon'!"
Accepted. The systems name tag has been changed into 'Simon'
"Okay. Now that Gamer Mind thingy…"
Gamers Mind EX is an old attempt at improving the already existing Gamer Mind. Unfortunately, it was not a success. Even though the new system can fix any damage with any mind, it also shuts down the emotions and natural instincts. Making it very useful for fixing the damage that has been done to the Contractors mind but insufficient for the next world.
"So you will remove it." Going to another world without any emotions or instincts would definitely cause problems later on. Just think about fighting monsters without any survival instincts!
Positive. The Gamers Mind EX will now be disabled and the original skill Gamers Mind along with the remaining parts of the system will be activated.
Gamers Mind EX deactivated!
Then everything returned to normal. I am still calm but thinking everything with only logic thing had stopped. Seriously, that gets boring very fast.
The system is ready. Is the Contractor ready for its activation.
"Yes."

Yeah, there seemed to be some problems.
"Why are the stats all over the place?"
It is because no person is same as another one.
If the Contractor wishes to understand more about the stats and other functions of the system. He can start the tutorial.
[YES],[NO]
"Yes!"
Tutorial, starting.
*Stats
Each stat stands for something different.
-HP, stands for 'Health Points'. It shows you how much damage you have taken and how much you can take until you die. The maximum HP can be increased through leveling up and recovery rate can be increased through End stats.
-MP, stands for 'Magic Points'. It shows your capacity for the arcane arts, the maximum amount of MP you have can be increased through leveling up or through increasing the Int stats while the recovery rate can be increased through the Wis stats.
-St, stands for 'Strength'. It shows you the amount of physical might you posses. The amount of St you have can be increased through leveling up or through training physically.
-Ag, stands for 'Agility'. It shows you how fast you can move and react. The amount of Ag you have can be increased through leveling up or trough training physically.
-End, stands for 'Endurance'. It shows you how high your physical endurance and defensive abilities are. The amount of End you have can be increased through leveling up or through training physically. The amount of End you posses also affects the regenerative rate of your HP.
-Int, stands for 'Intelligence'. It shows you, your mental power in numbers. The amount of Int you posses can be increased through leveling up or through studying and reading. The amount of Int you posses also affects the maximum amount of MP you posses.
-Wis, stands for 'Wisdom'. It shows you, your ability to use your mental power and knowledge in an efficient manner in numbers. The amount of Wis you posses can be increased through leveling up or through thinking of efficient or unorthodox ways to use your abilities, strategy games and learning from your failures.
-Cha, stands for 'Charisma'. It shows you your social skills through numbers. The amount of Cha you posses can be increased through leveling up and also through physical appearance and social interactions.
-Lck, stands for 'Luck'. It shows you the amount of luck you posses through numbers. It can be increased through experiencing extraordinary situations that are in your favor or leveling up.
=Important: Stats can also be increased manually with stat points one can collect from enemies or Quests.
=Important: An average human posses 10 points in any of their stats, while a world class athlete can posses 20 points in their physical stats.
"Then why do I posses such high stats, especially in luck?"
Physical and mental stats you currently posses are because of Gamers Mind and Gamers Body, which will be explained. While your Lck stat is as high as it is because of the fact you have been chosen by the system, Contractor.
Okay, the luck being super high makes quite a bit of sense now.
Continuing tutorial.
*Skills:
Skills are special abilities one can posses. They can be obtained through specific actions. Your current skills are…
-Gamers Mind(Passive): Protects the mind of the user, preventing outside interferences and access without the users permission. It also prevents any kind of negative mental status effects along with strengthening the users mental stats.
-Gamers Body(Passive): Allows the user to live his life as a video game. Preventing the user from dying as long as he possesses HP, no matter the injury. It also allows the user to access higher amount of physical attributes he posses without any side effects.
*Quests:
A quest is a mission given by the system to the user. User can gain many different rewards through completing quests. Including, but not limited to:
Stat points(Points one can use to manually increase stats)
Equipments(Weapons, armors or other cosmetics one can equip to increase stats.)
Skills
Gift Boxes(A box that will give out a random reward)
Okay. Have to admit that this is awesome. "Is this everything?"
Negative. Now the Contractor shall begin battle simulation.
Say what now?
Then everything around me changed. From a void, I fell to the ground. While a bit painful, it was also very nice. Feeling something after spending who knows how much time in that god forsaken void.
And then I looked around and I have to admit that was impressed. But I also had to say.
"I am not amused."
Seriously, did they really have to use a colosseum. Was this some way of saying that I was entertainment?
And then something rise from the shadows, a knight. No, no that's wrong. That is not a knight. That is a knight zombie. If you focused enough, you could see the rotting flesh poking through the chainmail on his chest and from the other small openings in the joint areas.
Zombie Knight
Are you ready for the battle, Contractor?
"Like hell I am! Look at that thing! He looks strong enough to tear my head in half before eating my brain! Not to mention I have never fought in my life! And I don't have a weapon! Do you want me to become some kind of appetizer for that thing?!"
I have taken your worries into consideration, Contractor.
Therefore, passive skill 'Battle Instincts' along with a low ranked weapon.
Then a small blade appeared before me, it is longer than a normal dagger but shorter than a sword. As I took it in my hand I saw the description of the dagger and of the new skill.
*Steel Dagger: E-Rank. An ordinary long dagger made out of steel. Attack: 9
*Battle Instincts(Passive): Never fought before. No problem because you have the instincts for it. Instinctual knowledge of how to fight.
Okay. The game is really helping. But now I had a zombie to kill.
Even with instincts, I didn't just become some super soldier. So there wasn't some great plan except for frontal assault. I ran towards the knight and to my great surprise did not simply side stepped his slash. No, instead I slide under the slash and between the undeads legs before springing towards him and stabbing the dagger through the small opening in the armor where the shoulder guards connected with his arms, in other words, through his armpit, with all of my strength.
Through dealing greater damage than what your attack would normally deal, you have gained the skill 'Vital Strike'
Vital Strike(Active): Your physical attacks can now defeat your enemy easily! Deals critical damage to the enemy(cost 20 MP)
Damn. That is one good skill. Considering how slower it got, it probably has gotten a lot weaker. If I continue hitting it like that, it should fall down very soon.
+1 Int for thinking a solid plan!
That's nice. But the plan is a no go. There isn't a guarantee that I could get him every time. Not to mention I could very well spent all of my MP before it falls. It simply isn't smart to use it all at once like that.
+1 wisdom for realizing the weakness of your plan!
I am starting to think that the game is making fun of me.
I attacked again but this time I ducked under his slash and started to slashing his armor repeatedly.
Through hitting the enemy successively while hitting harder in every hit, you have gained skill 'Chain Attacks'!
Chain Attacks(Passive): Hitting him once didn't work, try hitting him more! Physical attacks will deal more damage in successive blows.
I am not sure if getting skills should be this easy but I have no complaints. That skill would be useful. And it was a nice bonus since I had managed to do what I wanted. Its chainmail was torn apart. In other words…
It is getting direct hits now! It already looks ready to fall! There shouldn't be any risks now. So let's try it! Vital Strike!(-20 MP)
And now the next slash.
You have defeated the enemy!
+20 EXP for defeating the Zombie Knight!
+100 Gold!
You have defeated an enemy for the first time!
Bonus EXP and Gold shall be given to the user'
+80 Bonus EXP!
+400 Gold!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
Yeah this is amazing. I also got bonus for defeating something for the first time! Though what can I use Gold for?
Gold can be used to buy consumable items like potions or equipment from the shop.
We can do that? Cool! Open Shop!

Normal Restoration Potion-1.000 Gold
Heroic Restoration Potion-3.000 Gold
Legendary Restoration Potion-5.000 Gold
Mythical Restoration Potion-10.000 Gold
Okay… no shopping for a long, long, time. So any good news, Simon?
Yes! You have completed the tutorial Contractor! Therefore you shall get your hidden rewards!
Rewards, cool!
You have completed the tutorial!
+200 EXP
1 Starter Gift Box
D Ranked magic weapon: Frost Pain Attack: 15
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
Frost Pain… a bladed ice weapon that looked similar to a fork. From Overlord series. I think a Lizardmen had used this thing. It wasn't exactly impressive when you compared it into other weapons but it was quite better than the dagger I had now.
It's main abilities were Cold Resistance, Ice Damage and special skill Icy Burst. So it was actually a useful little thing. Even if its attack wasn't exactly high. But I had something more important right now. "Simon, what does this box contain?"
A Gift Box can contain anything, Contractor. But the Starter Gift Box possesses 1 Job, 1 Skill and 1 item.
So it could be anything… well no reason to look at the gift horse in the mouth. "Open!"
Item: B-Rank Haste Boots
Skill: Danger Sense(Passive)
Job: Shadow Lord
Okay… what? The hell! What was this stupidly amazing loot from a beginner box?! Will a meteor fall on my head to balance this?!
No, no calm down. It could be normal right, Simon?
That is correct, Contractor. The Beginner Gift Box is supposed to give out a unique Job, a strong skill and an item of at least C-Rank.
So my luck was strong enough to get a B-Rank. Not to mention the Job and the skill I got.
Danger Sense(Passive): Your Spider Senses are tingling! A passive ability that allows the user to sense the presence of other beings and their danger when they come near the user. The range of this skill will increase along with the users Level.
Shadow Lord: The reaper follows you wherever you go! A path littered with corpses and the smell of blood. An army of dead shall follow your command. A promoted version of the Necromancer Class.
*Job Skill: Shadow Extraction[Locked]
*Job Skill: Save Shadow[Locked]
Haste Boots: B-Rank Equipment
*Ability: +10 to Agility
Okay, the boots are awesome. But why are the shadow skills [Locked]? Simon?
Skill Shadow Extraction and Shadow Save is [Locked] until a certain condition is met because of the fact that the Job being a gift.
I think I get it now. It is definitely troublesome but I did get this job without any danger, unlike Sung Jin who had survived only because of luck. Getting it like this is unfair to the original so I have to do some kind of extra quest to get the skills.
"Simon, how can I unlock my skills?"
If the Contractor wishes, an Instant Dungeon where you can meet the conditions shall be opened.
"Instant Dungeon? We can use that? How does it work?"
Positive. The system allows the player to enter an Instant Dungeon but unlike others that the Contractor knows, you do not control which dungeon you can enter. A dungeon is always open but a new one can be opened only when the existing dungeon is completed.
"Okay, I think I got it. Open the dungeon then."
The Contractor must choose a name for himself before getting out of the tutorial.
That's right. I don't have a name right now. What should I call myself then. Something fitting for the Shadow Lord Job I have. The originals name, Sung Jin-Woo. Sung means 'successor' or 'one on the verge of winning' and a name for myself… 'one who will soar', Sho.
"I am Sung Sho."
Accepted. Contractor, Sung Sho!
+1 Int for choosing a name with a good meaning!
+1 Wis for not choosing a name simply to sound cool!
Cheeky system.
Entering Instant Dungeon!
And once again everything around me changed. White pixels slowly overtook the colosseum and replaced it with a forest. With giant trees and grass plains as far as eye can see.
"Well, let's start."
He probably shouldn't have said that. Since the moment he finished speaking what looked like a green monkey jumped from a tree, trying to slash him with its claws.
Taking a step back was not the best choice either as rather big black cats with long claws and big red dogs with steel jaws tried to get him from the ground.
Razor Claw Briga!
Black Shadow Razan!
Steel Fanged Raikan!
They seem kinda familiar, I think they were from the E-Rank Instant Dungeon in the Solo Leveling. Didn't the system had any original monsters?
Not that it really matters. It is a nice chance to see how strong the Frost Pain is compared to these guys. Though considering their names are all white except for Raika, which had a light orangish name, the system I am using is similar to what they had in Solo Leveling. So these guys can be considered weak. This gives me some confidence when you consider the fact that they were red when Sung Jim-Woo met these guys. Though I have to admit, I definitely expected them have more resistance to my attacks. I mean yeah, I used my agility to run around them and stab them in the back with Frost Pain. But a monster shouldn't fall that easily! I had epic expectations you know!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
They probably won't give this much EXP again so better kill all of them that I can find before trying to get to the boss.
So good news, I reached level 22 and got many trash items, which I sold for some free gold and got the title Wolf Slayer!
Title: Wolf Slayer: A title given to one who is proficient in fights against wolves. 40 percent increased stats against Beast-Type monsters.
Bad news, no more mob monsters so I have to deal with the boss which will likely to be that huge ass snake from the novel.
Though I had at least found a small lake so I finally know how I look like. I think I am about eleven or twelve years old. And damn man am I handsome for a kid! Short black covering the top of my head is not too long while the sides of my head is shaven. My eyes are grayish blue and my face is sharp though I am not sure if I am short or tall since all my company was mob monsters and not a single human. So I am handsome but not some edgy anime character, normal handsome. But now that I think about it… am I actually handsome or is it the Cha stat that makes me look handsome? Hope not.
So let's just keep following the bluish light. It had appeared after I killed the last mob monster, so it was likely to lead me to the boss. Though I still hadn't unlocked Shadow Extraction, even though Simon claimed that this dungeon would allow me to meet the condition.
It hadn't taken that long but I finally found the boss.
Blue Poison Fang's Rasaka
Reddish orange name, this bastard is stronger and more dangerous than anything I have faced. As expected of a boss.
That's what I would think if the overgrown worm wasn't fucking SLEEPING!
Dude come on! Aren't you the fucking dungeon boss?! You are supposed to wait the unfortunate adventurers in your evil lair and attack them the moment they get in! Not to sleep under the sun! Fuck it! I'll just kill it while it's asleep!
That was the idea so why did it suddenly sprang upon me the moment I took the first step?! Was he playing possum?! What kind of boss monster would play possum?!
No time to complain now, I will complain all I want when I am on the top of this garden snakes carcass!
Though that is easier said than done! I am. Pretty sure I would have been hit by now if it wasn't for my agility stats. Unlike Sung Jin-Woo who defeated this thing with strength, I am more about being fast so I don't get hit like he did but in exchange my hits are even less likely to do any damage.
But I had one important advantage against the snake that Jin-Woo didn't had. So wait just a moment before… jump! I screamed out as I fall down one the middle of the Rasaka's body.
Icy Burst!(-30 MP)
One useful skill my weapon has is this ice based attack that can be used three times a day. Compared to other weapons from the Overlord world, it is more or less a trash weapon. But against a low level boss of reptile type, it should work as I intent it to work!
So a cold blooded snake vs ice based AoE* attack, result? A frozen and very fragile snake part while snake itself slows down! The luck stat does its job, I got an ice based weapon before fighting a cold blooded monster and my agility is high enough to not get hit. And now with the area on its back is frozen it is damn easy to just slash the snake open and now all I need is another…
Icy Burst!(-30 MP)
And bam! Your internals are frozen!
You have slain the Blue Poison Fang's Rasaka!
You have obtained Rasaka's Fang!
You have obtained Rasaka's Venom!
You have obtained Leather Pouch
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
As expected of a boss monster, two levels and several nice drops. And the pouch contains…
10000 Gold!
That is almost three times of the gold I have! This is awesome! Not to mention with the dungeon complete I should be able to use Shadow Extraction on Rasaka, right now…
Okay where is my new skill message?
Warning! As the boss of the dungeon has been defeated, the hidden boss shall reveal himself!
Wait, what? Hidden boss? Why the hell would a boss hide?! No wonder I didn't get the skill! Show yourself mister Hidden Boss!
Mid-Tier Demon Fiery Rancidus
Dude, I just leveled up. So why the hell is this guys name red?! Even Rasaka's name was only orange and I am stronger now! So why the hell is a Mid-Tier demon this strong compared to me?!
I probably would have raged a bit more at this rather unfair circumstance but I was quite rudely interrupted by a black fireball to my chest.
HP:5739/12000
And there goes more than half of my HP… but in more important matters. It fucking burns!
I never really thought myself as a bad person. I think. Everything about me before the void is pretty much gone. Shows and anime I remember very well but who I was is gone. So for all I know I might have been a serial killer… but I feel like I was a good normal person so I am sticking with it!
But now? No more mister nice guy! This mage wanna be demon is dead! End of the story!
Icy Burst!
My last Icy Burst used as a smoke screen. Would have been nice to have one more but I truly don't care anymore! So from the smoke I threw the Frost Pain with all of my might at the demon which he intercepted with another fireball, though that still gave me the distraction I needed.
Rancidus might have been stronger than me! But unlike the skeleton, he was a living breathing being. And those beings had a nice thing about them.
Stabbing their head from the back killed them! It is great that my enemies were Solo Leveling type instead of common game enemies. If they were my attacks would have no meaning until their HP dropped to zero, no matter how I hit them. But against these guys? A gamer I might be but the world was real! And in real world people died when a dagger stabbed you from the back of your head!
You have defeated Fiery Rancidus!
You have obtained the title: The One Who Overcame Adversity
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
YOU HAVE LEVELED UP!
Have to admit, killing Rancidus was really satisfying. Even without getting this new awesome title!
The One Who Overcame Adversity: A title given to those who overcame adversity heroically. (Your stats increase proportionally to your missing health. 1% stat increase every 1% HP missing.)
This is just awesome! And now the hidden boss is defeated. Do I get my skills or will I have to deal with another hidden boss?
Negative, Contractor.
You have killed another humanoid being! You have unlocked Shadow Lord skills 'Shadow Extraction' and 'Shadow Save'!
So killing another humanoid was the requirement huh. This is some disturbing requirement for a skill you know, Simon. As expected of a necromancer job, I guess. Now let's test these new features!
Shadow Extraction can not be used on this target!
Damn! I forgot about the fact that one couldn't resurrect demons in Solo Leveling. That blows. How about the overgrown worm?
Shadow Extraction can be used on this target.
Cool. You have caused me some problems Rasa, and I never really forgave you for trying to eat Sung Jin-Woo. Therefore you will work for your redemption on my side.
"Arise!"
It is quite different from anything you ever seen. Unlike in the comics, a shadow version didn't just come out of the body, no. First its shadow engulfed the body and then a crack appeared on the shadow. And from that crack, an all black version of Rasaka with blue eyes came out. It's from was flickering, almost like smoke was coming out of its body.
This… this will be awesome!

I really hope that you guys liked it. I always liked Gamer stories and Solo Leveling and was planning to write about one of them until I had an idea… Why not both?!
Now the next chapter won't come out soon since I have other stories but there is one thing you guys need to know. Next chapter will be a time skip. We will go to a time where Sung Sho is a real badass with his place in the world. Which will have many characters from many fandoms. Though we might see his journey to the top as Omakes! So hope you liked it. Pleaser favorite, follow and review!
