The sun was high, a golden blanket covering the Pridelands. Queen Kiara and Queen-in-Command Sherise were lying by the watering hole discussing their situation with Bright Kingdom.
"Are you sure you're ready, Kiara?" Sherise asked, concern in her purple eyes.
The gold lioness had determination in her amber eyes. "I will not rest until I get out of this mess."
Sherise frowned before looking towards the eastern borders. "Dae and Bastien has left, do you think they'll find anything?"
Kiara sighed deeply. "I hope so. Asteria's sister Aida, informed where Dae's sister could be. Perhaps, She'll have a way to help to us."
Sherise nodded but her mind was far away. It was the dark brown lioness' silence that caused the gold lioness to look at her.
"Everything okay, 'Resse?"
Sherise nodded her head before instantly shaking it. "I didn't want to say anything with everything going on but.. I'm pregnant."
Kiara was shocked, "Don't you guys move fast.." Kiara then smiled wide that reached her eyes. "That's great!" then her smile fell. "You told Jesús, right?"
Sherise was about to respond when a extremely loud roar echoed through the air caused the mothers to exchange concerned, fearful looks before running off towards the gathering of clouds.
...
Near Mbali fields, Kion and Kopa were giving some of the pride's cubs lessons to further their knowledge and understanding.
Not long into the sessions, the brothers were joined by their niece who had enough of the girly activities with some of the female cubs.
"Why is she here?" a orange cub asked with a irrated look on his scruffy face as his green eyes was locked on the only female there. Princess Sarabi.
Dimitri growled at the younger cub. "Sarabi is here because she wants to be. Got a problem, Jabori!"
Jabori sneered. "Yeah. She's a girl, useless. The only thing that females are good for are to be what their mates want and hunting. That's what..."
A bright gold cub glared at the younger cub with narrowed orange eyes. "That's what?"
Jabori growled, at at the dark beige female. With a disgusted noise aimed towards Sarabi, he sneered. "That's what my father said."
Kopa who was hearing what Jabori was saying, shook his head. It was no secret that the brownish, black maned lion was a sexist prick.
Kion shook his head as well before walking off. Sarabi frowned at Jabori before her ears flickered.
Kopa who was in charged alongside Kion glared at his cousin. He went to repperhand the orange cub but his interest went to his niece.
Sarabi heard laughter but it wasn't from her brother or the other cubs they were with and it wasn't from her uncles.
Sarabi turned around to see a African wild dog trying to get to the eggs that was over a boulder, which the dark red, black spotted dog was standing on with two black paws on the branch that the nest rested on.
Sarabi knows about the circle of life but the eggs wasn't even hatched and those eggs belonged to Ono and his mate Zara.
She walked over without thinking about how dangerous it was. "Hey Mister! What do you think you're doing! Those eggs are off the menu!"
The wild dog, who was the leader of the wild dog pack, chuckled before planting his black paws on the stony surface. "Ha! It's the wee-little Princess. What are you going to do without your brother and uncles around?"
Sarabi frowned, it was a taunt, a test. The dark beige cub was tooken out of her head by the wild dog's growl, he had one egg in his black muzzle.
Something snapped in the princess' being, a burst of energy and power that she never felt before. She growled as her orange eyes shined, "Leave those eggs-ALONE!"
A very powerful roar flew from her small muzzle causing the cubs and her uncles to turned in her direction to see who roared like that.
They weren't expecting to see Sarabi blowing the African wild dog leader away along with some of the eggs.
When she stopped Sarabi looked horrified at the once small tree, that was nothing but twigs and splinters. All the cubs were in awed when they caught sight of the roaring lions in the sky.
Kion was the first one to reach the shaken princess. "Sarabi, are you alright?"
Sarabi shook her head before looking up at her goldish-yellow uncle. "What just happened?"
Kion sighed before looking at Kopa but before he could answer Kiara and Sherise came running over.
"What happened?" Kiara was the first to ask.
Kiara looked at her brothers for a answer. It was after a few quiet moments when Kopa spoke up with a deep breath.
"It appears that Sarabi is the newest leader of the Lion Guard."
Before Kiara could say something a deep, voice burst out laughing.
Everyone looked to see a brownish, black maned lion shake his head while waving a paw. "A female as the leader of the Lion Guard. A princess none the less. You can't be serious,"
Sarabi glared as she bared her teeth, remembering Jabori's words. "What's that suppose to mean! I saved a egg from a wild dog!"
Ono and Zara flew over and landed in front of the dark beige princess. "And we thank you princess. We're sad that only two out five survived but we're glad that we didn't lose them all."
The two bowed and after Kiara dipped her head they flew off. Kiara looked from her friend and her mate to Minos.
"I don't care about your beliefs. But I would appreciate if you keep it to yourself." with a deep breath Kiara turned to her daughter. "As for you, Sarabi. You have been chosen to be the new leader of the Lion Guard. You were given the roar of the elders."
Sarabi tilted her head. "So I can roar like Uncle Kion and Auntie Vitani?"
Kiara looked at her half-brother and nodded.
Kion took a deep breath before walking over to his niece. "Follow me."
Sarabi smiled before following her goldish-yellow uncle with her mother and brother behind them.

Next Day(Watering Hole)
Jabori burst into laughter that brought tears to his green eyes. "You two in the guard! Is that some type of joke! A female no less is in charge of a guard!"
Kai narrowed his orange eyes before leaping in front of Jabori. "What you're trying to say! Sarabi will make a great leader! So if you have a problem, you deal with me!"
Sarabi was tooken by the gold cub's actions as well as Sisu and Loki.
Lyndy glared at Jabori with disgusted green eyes before looking towards her sister with a smile. "I think that's cool."
A creamy gold cub, Sahara walked over with her creamy brown sister, Alya. "Who else is suppose to be on the team?"
Sarabi looked at the gold cub, Kai."Kai is our bravest. Now we are supposed to recruit the strongest, fastest and keenest of sight."
Jabori rolled his green eyes before lying down with annoyed expression. "So who's supposed to be the fastest, strongest and the keenest of sight?"
Sarabi looked at the cubs that were gathered. She locked her orange eyes on a particular light cream cub was talking to with their rich brown cousin. "Loki!"
Loki looked from Taka to the princess with confused purple eyes. "Yes..."
"Sarabi? What are you doing?"
Sarabi looked at her sister who joined her side and nodded towards their light cream couisn. "Loki is the fastest in the Pridelands."
Lyndy thought about it before nodding in agreement. She remembered when Sahara got trapped in a cave-in.
Loki had ran very fast to get help which brought the light brown cub to look at their light brown cousin.
Loki had returned with his brother Dimitri, he wasn't sure how but was amazed when he pushed the large rock blocking the cave entrance with little trouble.
"I agree with Sarabi. Loki is the fastest as Dimitri is the strongest."
Rey flickered his ears but before he could ask a question, Sisu leapt to her paws and caught everyone's attention.
"Intruders are in the Pridelands!"
Sahara and Alya frowned and was going to ask what was Sisu talking about when the smell of lions reached their nose.
The cubs scattered off towards the safety of priderock. They had gotten to the peak and seen Vitani lead the current Lion Guard to chase intruders out of the kingdom.
Lyndy and Sarabi shared a look before smiling at the goldish cub.
They have found the Pridelands' keenest of sight, now that the Lion Guard was complete they can protect the kingdom and defend the circle of life.
...
(Couple Days After Sarabi's Guard Was Formed)
Prince Loki was at the top of Priderock searching for Rey.
Unfortunately it wasn't his couisn that the two month old Prince found. Instead he found Felisa, who apprered to have been waiting for him.
"Well hello there dear nephew," Felisa purred with a wide smile. "What are you doing up here all by yourself?"
"I was looking for Rey," Loki replied trying to keep his voice steady.
"Well I'm afraid he's not back yet," Felisa said. "But come close little one. I want to talk to you about something."
"Y-you do?" Loki asked his purple eyes widening with surprise. "What is it?" As he was talking, the light cream cub was walking closer to the creamy brown lioness.
As soon as he was close enough, Felisa pulled the little cub close to her and turned his to face her.
"I just want to get a good look at you," Felisa said putting her paw under Loki's chin and lifting his head up. "Hmm," she said with a smile. "Very nice. You look exactly like your father."
"I don't look like my Dad," Loki said with confusion.
"Oh, my young Prince there's so much you don't know," Felisa sighed her blue eyes burning into Loki's bright purple ones.
"What are you talking about?" Loki asked throughly confused.
"You think your parents have told you everything," Felisa said her voice a low growl. "But they haven't. They've been lying to you about who your father is."
"My parents wouldn't do that," Loki said trying to pull away from Felisa.
"Oh but they would," Felisa remarked. "And they have. You see Loki there's something you should know. Your father is..." But before Felisa could continue, Kenna climbed the summit.
"Hey lil bro, what are you doin' up here?" the gold lioness asked giving Felisa a strange look.
"We were just talking," Felisa replied. "Now run along now. This doesn't concern you."
Kenna narrowed her dark brown eyes at her aunt before looking at her brother. "Mother wants you. It's getting late."
"Okay Kenna," Loki said eagar to get away from his aunt. "Thanks for tellin' me."
Loki quickly ran down the side of Priderock to find their mother.
Kenna turned back to Felisa, "I remember my parents saying they didn't want you around Loki."
Felisa rolled her eyes. "Oh please,"
Kenna growled at the older lioness. "Let me be clear, Auntie... if I see you around either of brothers or sisters... you'll regret it!"
With a lash of her tail, the gold lioness turned and climbed down the summit. Leaving Felisa alone.
The creamy brown lioness left for her private den where not too after her oldest cub Athena and Rey came running up the side of Priderock and jumped between her paws.
But the smiles quickly lefted the ten and two month old cubs' faces when they saw the dark look on they're mother's face.
"What's wrong Mother?" Rey asked with concern in his green eyes.
"Everything is wrong," Felisa snapped startling her son. "I keep getting interrupted when I try talking to Loki."
"Why do you want to talk to Loki?" Felisa's light gold daughter asked confused.
"None of your business," Felisa growled. "Just be quiet and go to sleep."
"But Mother," Rey cried out. "We haven't eaten yet."
"That's your fault for not coming home sooner," Felisa snapped. "I'm almost two months pregnant! I can't be bothered with you and your sister's petty problems. Now no more of your whining. I said go to sleep."
With a sigh, Athena and Rey went into a corner, where Athena balled up as Rey sadly put his head down on his paws. The siblings went to sleep with empty stomachs.
