Chapter 16

It had now been a entire year since the Wizengamot session took place, which lead to the construction of the first Magical City. Hadrian, Rigel, Arianna and the Minister, had all expected to receive a lot of backlash from the public. Surprisingly however, the public were very keen on the idea. Some well known public people such as Madam Malkin, and Garrick Ollivander, spoke out loud in their support. They reasoning was that this is what the magical world needs. Wizards and Witches will be living in harmony, and that is what everyone needs after the three wars that had happened during the past century.

One the other hand, other Magical Countries, such as MACUSA and Magical Bulgaria, were wary of the plans to build a city. They decided to wait until it something happened before they decided to take action. Their reasoning was that the articles that had been printed in the muggle newspapers could be fake. Magical France, Germany and many other countries were not willing to take the risk, so they too decided to follow what Magical Britain was doing and build their own magical cities. Agreeing that it would be better for them to leave muggle communities instead of hiding in them.

There had been many more apparent sightings according the Muggle newspaper, however there was nothing concrete. The city had still went ahead, and while at the beginning it was being built to protect them from muggles, it was now also getting built for a new and better future.

Plans for the city were effective immediately. However, one of the biggest hurdles was to convince the goblins to move the bank. They were outright furious when the Head of the Goblin Liaison, Derrick Dooke, requested the meeting with the Goblin King, about moving the bank to the constructing magical city.

The goblin king, King Ragnok, became furious and promptly order Derrick to leave him. After many days of negotiations, the goblin agreed, however they had non-negotiable terms. The first was that they would choose the location, the second was that Goblins will be given better rights in the magical world, and finally the goblins wanted to build a goblin village in Cornwall.

Seeing the best they could do, the Wizengamot agreed to their terms. Most of the Lords and Ladies happily agreed to them, thinking that is was about time that goblins got better rights in Magical Britain. This led to entire reconstruction of Magical rights in Britain. Other magical creatures, such as Veela and Centaurs, were also given better rights, like Goblins. Magical Britain was turning into the place to be.

The head of the Veela community, who lived on a island in france which was the veela community, asked permission to build a Veela Community, just like the Goblins did. However, Veelas were required to wear charmed necklaces in England, which helped them control their allure and even completely turn them off. The Centaurs on the other hand, remained in the Forbidden Forest. They had only requested that the remove the Acromantula Colony which was located in there. The members of the Wizengamot agreed with due haste because no one wanted the Acromantula's near Hogwarts.

Other Laws were passed, which helped have muggleborns and halfbloods have the same type of rights as purebloods. It now became a law that those who were discriminated, may they be pureblood, halfbloods or muggleborns, when caught, they would be fined accordingly. Muggleborns and halfbloods now found it much easier to get jobs and be a part of Magical Britain. Life had become very nice in England.

The launch of 'Black Industries' had taken not just Magical Britain, but the entire Magical World by surprise. Hadrian and his team had named the communication device 'CrystalPhone'. The CrystalPhone had been sold out within a day. Wherever you went, you could see everyone owning the device and using it.

Adults were happily chatting away with others through the Phone, female teenagers were constantly taking selfies and sharing with each other while male teenagers were listening to songs. Kids were happily playing games on the devices as well. Black Industries had become a global company. They had stores that were open in France, Germany, Italy and MACUSA. It became even more popular as more and more features were created and added.

The Black Industries headquarters was in Diagon Alley, however that was soon becoming into an end. Hadrian as the CEO of the company, had built a large tower in the shape of a prism in the new magical city. It was named Black Tower. Once the city was open to the public, then they would start using the building.

Many weddings had also taken place through the past year. People were marrying left, right and center. The biggest wedding that had taken place was none other than the Boy-Who-Lived wedding. Alexander had married his girlfriend of four years, Hermione Granger, who was a muggleborn witch, during the christmas holidays.

When Alexander announced during a family dinner at Potter Manor that he was marrying Hermione Granger, everyone congratulated him however you could see in their eyes that they were cringing inside. Hermione was very hot-headed and always acted before thinking, people in Hogwarts always tried to avoid her. She was not that popular.

Hermione and Lily, often clashed heads with each other. During the beginning, Lily was excited at the prospect of meeting her, however her opinion immediately changed after their first meeting. James on the other hand, was happy for his son, however he was anxious for the future. He had no problem at her being a muggleborn, he married one, however Hermione was not the type of person who would be respected as Lady Potter. She was too hot headed, and always thought and tried to show that she was the smartest person in the room. Hadrian and Rose, tried to spend as much time away from Hermione as possible. They had no bad feeling against her, they just found her mentally exhausting.

Speaking of relationships, Rose had started dating. After she had finished her final year at hogwarts, she had looked very anxious. It was only when Lily demanded to know what was wrong with her, did she tell everyone.

Flashback...

It had been a few days since Rose had returned from Hogwarts. The entire family were glad to see her however they could all tell that there was something on her mind. They had thought that she would tell them whatever was bothering her, when she was ready. But Lily had had enough. It had been well over a week and Rose was yet to say something. So during dinner at Potter Manor, Lily put her foot down.

"Alright! I've had enough of this!" said Lily frustratedly. "Ever since you've came back, you look like your about to run of any moment. And you have this anxiuos look in your eye. What is wrong?"

Everyone looked back and forth between the mother and daughter.

Rose seeing no point to argue or avoid the question, hastily said. "Ihaveaboyfriend,"

"What?" Lily asked, her eyes narrowed into slits.

"I have a boyfriend," Rose repeated slowly and clearly.

"What!" shouted all the men at the table. That included James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Hadrian and Alexander. All the women on the other woman on the other hand, had pleased smiles on their faces. Lily was postively beaming after she got of her shock. All females on the table were apart from Rose were, Lily, Amelia, Susan and Hermione. (Hermione had moved in with Alexander after they were married.)

"Who is it Rose!" demanded Hadrian. "I'm going to make that person pay for laying a hand on you!"

"That's right!" nodded Alexander. "Tell us right now, so that we can deal with him!"

Before Lily could reply, Rose replied back in a confident voice while looking into Hadrian's eyes, "It was Damien."

"That idiot. To think that I trusted him!" spoke Hadrian in frustration. He got up from his seat and headed towards the fireplace, intending to floo over to Greengrass Manor.

Rose knowing what Hadrian was about to do, quickly ran after him, followed by everyone else, and said exasperatedly, "He didn't do anything to me!" Hadrian turned around, raising his eyebrow questioningly.

"We've been exchanging letters a few weeks before I went of to Hogwarts. We've been meeting each other during Hogsmeade trips." said Rose exasperatedly. "He hasn't laid a hand on me. He has been very nice."

"Well you could of told me before!" huffed Hadrian.

"Well I could of, but you just ran of like a mindless idiot before I could finish!" said Rose with a glare.

Hadrian looked a bit abashed at that. So did all the men around him, who were all had similar thoughts as Hadrian moments before.

"Well that doesn't mean I wont have a talk with him the next time I see him." grumbled Hadrian.

"Don't worry about that brother, I already gave him a fare warning, thanks to all the training you've given me." said Rose with a uncomfortable gleam in her eyes. Hadrian gave her a proud smile. Lily looked like she wanted to know what Hadrian had taught Rose, but she stopped herself, if pursing her lips meant anything by it.

Once everyone sat back down at the dinning table. Amelia said with an amused expression towards all the males present, "Sometimes, I wonder about you all."

"Sometimes I swear we surround ourselves by mindless chickens," Lily added amusedly. All the males looked affronted at her comment, while the females guffawed in laughter.

End of Flashback

Damien did end up having a talk with Hadrian. And Hadrian only let him go until he was satisfied with all his answers. The Greengrass family found it amusing during dinner the same day when they laid eyes on Damien, who was still quite pale after his talk with his girlfriends older brother.

Hadrian and Daphne were also going on strong. Hadrian had also taken notice to the subtle hints that Daphne was giving him about marriage. He pretended not to notice them, which was starting to frustrate Daphne, much to his amusement. Little did she know, he had already purchased a ring and it was sitting in a hidden draw in the Lords Office. Hadrian was just waiting for the perfect time to ask her.

Today was the day, the Magical Britians first ever city would be open for the public. The construction of the city, had been completed two months ago, however a few extra weeks were required in order for the wards to be on and in full strength. The members of the Wizengamot had already visited the area prior its completetion so that, if they were interested, they could buy a piece of land to build something on it. It was a requirement to not leave it empty if you decide to buy a land.

Now the city was finished and it was beautiful. It was bright, warm and welcoming. You could feel the magic radiating from the city and its wards. It was comforting.

Hadrian apparated into the new Ministry of Magic from his home, Black Manor. He them made his way towards the highest floor which was were the Ministers office was. Inside the magical elevator, its walls were enchanted to display the magical city live all around its wall. Giving a three hundred and sixty degree view of the city. The Ministry of Magic was in the center of the city.

Eventually, the lift stopped and Hadrian stepped out. The entire floor was empty. The ministry was yet to shift into its new building, which was to start immediately after the opening ceremony. Hadrian calmly walked through department until he was outside the Ministers Office. He knocked on the door and then walked in without waiting for a reply.

The room was large and very sophisticated. In front of him was his mother, who was looking out through the large windows that covered the entirety of the wall. You could see the ocean from where she was standing. He calmly walked forward.

"Mum," Hadrian greeted her from behind while wrapping his arms around her neck from behind and gave her a soft hug and a kiss on her head. The two of them had become quite close through the past year. Both, Amelia Bones and Hadrian Black relished it. Despite Hadrian being a responsible adult, Amelia tried to mother him as if he was a child every now and then. Hadrian never said anything because he knew that his mother never really got the chance to do so.

"Harry," replied back his mother lightly, closing her eyes in comfort when she felt her sons arm wrap around her. She relished every moment she spent time with him. The past year had been one of the best times of her life.

"It's time for you to go down. You are needed. The opening ceremony is about to start." stated Hadrian. "If our numbers are correct then we have almost half of the entire Magical Britain population standing right in front of Ministry Tower." ended Hadrian while motioning his mother to look down through the window. Indeed he was right. There were so many people attending.

"Well then, lets go." replied back the Minister. The two then left the office and made their way to the elevator. Once they were on the ground level, the two separated ways. Amelia walked towards a group of people who she had a few things to go over with. Hadrian on the other hand walked over to where the rest of his family were. That included, the Potters, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Susan and the Greengrass's.

Aurors were patrolling through the crowd. The Auror force had been in a terrible state once the war ended. Thankfully, the auror department was slowly but surely getting back to its original numbers. Most of the current aurors were present, making sure nothing went wrong.

Eventually, it was noon. The minister walked up, onto the stage for the opening ceremony. Standing behind her, on her right, were Lord Black, Lord Malfoy and Lady Yaxley. On her left were the department heads and her undersecretary, Percy Weasley. Everyone present in the crowd all had dazed and mesmerized expressions on their faces as they looked around the place. They all thought it was beautiful.

The commotion settled down, when everyone in attendance, had their attention diverted onto the Minster, as she walked forward and began talking.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to..."

Her voice was cut of when someone from behind her shouted,

"Avada Kedavra!"

AN - I didn't really know how to best describe the city it, so i kept it at a minimum. Leave a comment for a name for the city, as I'm struggling to find a good name for it. This chapter was a brief recap of what has happened the past year and the opening of the city.
