Demetra and her amplifier

...

.

In response, he pointed at Demetra." She, she can save his life... she has magical powers and can heal Christian, before it's too late..."

As those words reached her ears, Demetra's eyes went wide..."W-what? No, I can't" she responded, and shook her head fiercely, looking at Parthenios, then at Ana, and lastly her emerald eyes landed on Andreas, her eyes pleading." I really don't... I cannot"

"Yes, you can!"

In a blink of an eye, Parthenios stood in front of them, not able to get to Demetra, because Andreas and Ana were blocking him.

The petite beauty had a frightened and confused look on her face, and grabbed Ana tightly by the hand." I really don't know what he's talking about, Ana..."

"Yes, you do!"

Parthenios was seething, his eyes becoming yellow, his fangs descending gradually.

"Wait, wait... let us all be calm for a moment" Calinico came in between them." Why do you think this young woman can heal Mr. Christian, Parthenios?"

At hearing that, the leader of 'The Phoenixes' changed back to his human form, and turned his head, avoiding Calinico's gaze.

"Well, tell us... Christian doesn't have much time!" they all heard a sobbing Ana say." Please?!"

As tears pooled in his eyes, Parthenios walked over to Demetra, and said." Your sister once saved my life by using her magical powers."

"What?" Demetra said, her eyes wide, her heart contracting inside her chest, because he just mentioned her older sister. And after a moment it dawned on her WHO Parthenios actually was. "Oh my God...you- you're her first... love?"

The leader of the 'Phoenixes' nodded." Yes" he replied, and hung his head in shame." Your sister and I were very close once."

"But I really don't know how to use my magical powers" Demetra said, while looking at the others one by one, grabbing Andreas' hand.

It was then, when Ana saw a vision... it was Demetra's ancestor... Sappheire.

Since seeing the bird/ Phoenix on the beach, and since that dream she had about Agathe telling her to go back to the sea, Ana began to see visions. However, she had kept it to herself, not telling anyone about it.

Not even Christian, 'cause she didn't want him to worry.

"Sappheire?" Ana uttered, and was brought to another 'world'.

"My beautiful descendant, she can save his life... she just has to believe in it... the magic is within her, Agathe." Sappheire told Ana." And she can use the one who is standing beside her... He's her amplifier, bonded since they met."

And just like that, Ana was brought back to the real world.

"Ana?!"

She smiled at the young witch. "Demetra," Ana said, as tears spilled from her blue, eyes." I just saw a vision of Sappheire"

"What? What did my ancestor say to you?" Demetra questioned, her eyes hopeful, while gripping Andreas' hand tightly.

"You CAN save Christian... you just have to believe in your magical powers and Andreas can assist you." Ana explained, looking at the petite woman with hopeful eyes." Concentrate and believe"

Andreas could not believe his ears. "Me?" he said in disbelief.

Ana nodded at that." You are her amplifier, Andreas..."

All of a sudden, Demetra felt a serene energy take over her, a wonderful sensation coursing through her veins, enveloping her whole being, making her feel absolutely calm.

Her eyes fluttered shut, and then she concentrated on her magical powers just like Ana had told her to do...

"She's doing it" Andreas pointed out, in awe by this gorgeous witch.

It was then, when Ana went to action. Christian had to be saved, and he had to be saved RIGHT NOW!

As Demetra concentrated, thinking back on the times her grandmother had taught her about magic as a small child, Ana gave orders to Taylor and the others to place Christian on the large dining table.

After she and Calinico hastily shoved everything off of the table, Christian's bodyguard, Stavros and Parthenios carefully carried him, and laid him down on it.

"Demetra? You ready, sweetie?" Ana asked impatiently, and placed a hand on her upper arm.

"Yes, I am" she answered, and opened her beautiful, emerald eyes.

The moment she did, everyone gasped, shocked of what they all saw right now.

"Demetra?" Ana uttered, and pulled her hand back, her eyes wide.

There was a force field around the young witch, a bright, white light surrounding all of her.

"Crap!" Andreas uttered, as he was sucked in it too.

He was absolutely terrified, but the moment Demetra grabbed both his hands, their eyes connecting, green meeting blue, he felt at ease, his fear ebbing away completely.

"Christian... save Christian's life." Ana pleaded, and that's when the young witch and her amplifier walked over to the large dining table, where Christian was.

The moment Demetra's hands collided with his chest and forehead, a bright light shone around Christian too.

"You have to touch her, Andreas" Ana told him, 'cause a voice whispered that in her ears.

It was Sappheire guiding them...

Without hesitation, Andreas placed both of his hands onto Demetra and that's when rays of bright light collided with each other.

"You're my great great granddaughter's amplifier... assist her" the voice told Andreas at that moment.

Demetra said something in a strange language, her eyes fixed onto Christian, concentrating with all her might, while light streamed from her hands to Christian's whole body.

Demetra felt how her energy was leaving her, and at one point felt weaker, but she kept chanting and it was then, when Andreas held her tightly, giving his own energy to the young witch...

And then, Parthenios head snapped up, gasping softly when he picked up his cousin's heartbeat.

(He and Christian had heightened senses, so they were able to hear and see ten times a normal man would)

Tears pooled in his eyes, as he heard that steady heartbeat and after a few seconds, Christian's heart was pounding as it usually did." She saved his life..." Parthenios whispered, eyes locked onto Calinico." She really did it"

Just as those words tumbled from his lips, Christian gasped aloud, sucking in much needed oxygen, while sitting up with a start." Ana... my love"

The connection between him, Demetra and Andreas was broken, the forcefield and rays of light gone...

Christian looked around, searching for that familiar face, the one who he would die for a million times over...

As their eyes met, Ana leaped at Christian, while loud sobs escaped her pale lips." Christian" she uttered, tears flowing down her cheeks." I thought that I- I lost you, baby..."

He also had tears in his eyes, and pulled Ana even closer to him." I love you so much, my whirlwind" he whispered, and held her oh so tightly." I'm back, Ana... I came back for you"

Calinico had tears in his eyes, so relieved his boy was saved, while Stavros told Taylor and the others that the air ambulance had finally arrived.

"They need to take a look at our leader's right temple." One of the Phoenixes said.

While Ana was enveloped inside Christian's warmth, her heart was finally at ease, taking all of him in." I love you so much, baby"

Christian had his eyes closed, and when he had opened them, he noticed how Andreas was helping Demetra get on her feet.

She looked exhausted, and he wondered how that came.

And then Christian saw how Parthenios looked at the pair; with envy in his eyes...

"Ana, what happened? How am I alive?" he asked, his brows furrowed, noticing that he wasn't bleeding at all." And can you tell me how it is that Papadakis is lying unconscious on the floor right now?"

.

.

.

Approximately four hours later, Christian left the Precinct of Tinos with a content look on his face, because what Adon was going to be charged with, will most definitely keep him locked up for the rest of his life.

He and the other 'Phoenixes' had officially turned Papadakis in, each and every one of them satisfied, but also saddened by all the lives this one man had taken during the attack on Parthenios' mansion.

Christian was sitting next to Taylor in the limousine, and observed his cousin.

"Parthenios, where is Andreas?" Christian asked, giving him a concerned look." Why isn't he here? He belongs with us, doesn't he?"

"Not anymore... I've stripped him from his title and everything else."

Christian shook his head in response, shocked at what he just heard from his cousin." What?! But why would you do such a thing?"

Parthenios gave him a stern look in response." You're my cousin, but that doesn't mean you have the right to question my actions, Christian" he told him." I am STILL the leader of the 'Phoenixes... There's only one rule the members must follow, and that is to OBEY their leader..."

Christian scoffed at that." You think I give a flying FUCK about your rules? Fuck 'the Phoenixes, Parthenios!" he barked, and glared at his cousin." Have you forgotten HOW I left this 'wonderful' secret elite organization of yours? Huh? Have you forgotten WHY you and I haven't spoken in years?!"

"You didn't have the right."

"Fuck you, Parthenios!" Christian growled, and grabbed his cousin by his collar." YOU ABANDONED Demetra's sister! You ABANDONED YOUR OWN flesh and blood!"

Christian was absolutely furious, tears pooling in his gray eyes.

While the two cousins were in a heated argument, Taylor acted like nothing was going on, his face stoic as usual. He was still on high alert though, letting the cousins 'fight' it out, while he asked the other two bodyguards through his earbud, if everything was under control.

"My father..." he heard Parthenios say.

"Fuck your father too!" Christian barked, and threw a deadly glare at Parthenios." Because I stepped up and helped Maia, and your unborn child, your father kicked me out of 'the Phoenixes,'. But it was fine by me, because I already had quit. Who wants to be a part of such a fucked up organization like this? Huh?"

"I had no choice" Parthenios whispered, his eyes fluttering shut." And YOU were the one who cut ties with me, cousin"

"Maia saved your life that day, and because your father found out she was a witch, you condemned her!" Christian said, while angry tears pooled in his eyes." You're a coward... and now, because Andreas went against your orders and sought the help of Demetra, you strip him of everything he owns and you banish him?!"

Christian was seething, and there was nothing Parthenios could say to make things right...

"Well, after Ana, Demetra and I have lifted this God damned curse, I'm DONE with you, Parthenios!" he said, and ordered the limo driver to stop the vehicle." You and your secret organization can go FUCK yourselves!"

.

.

.

Meanwhile, on the other island, Syros, Ana was with Demetra and Andreas, collecting as many flowers they needed for the potion.

"He is in love with you" Ana whispered in Demetra's ear.

In response, heat immediately spread towards her cheeks, making her face turn crimson red." No, he isn't." Demetra said, and looked at the young man.

"You like him too" Ana pointed out, and smiled widely." Should I tell Andreas to ask you on a date?"

"Ana, don't!" Demetra hissed, and playfully hit her with her bag." Shush, you!"

After Ana had explained to Christian what had happened, he and the others decided to go to the Precinct to turn Papadakis in.

But not before Demetra told the others that there wasn't much time to break the wretched curse.

As soon as Demetra, Ana and Christian received the marks on their backs, they only had three days to break it.

She also told the others about what her ancestor, Sappheire, had done, so her great great granddaughter could help the new 'Agathe and Soterios' AKA Christian and Ana.

Sappheire had written a prophesy centuries ago, in the magic book that Demetra owned. In it, she announced that her descendant had to make a special potion for Ana and Christian, so none of them had to sacrifice themselves in order to break the wretched family curse.

And that's why the three of them were here collecting the last ingredient, because the flowers had to be kept fresh, after picking them.

"He's quite handsome you know," Ana started, and winked at Demetra.

"We are enemies, he and I... He is a witch hunter, you know" the young witch pointed out, making Ana burst out into laughter." Yeah, he's so gonna hunt you down and 'devour' you whole..."

"Miss Anastasia Steele! What's up with you!" Demetra said aloud, and placed her hands on her hips, while shaking her head in a disapproving manner.

"Everything OK there?" Andreas asked from his spot, looking worried at the two women.

"Sorry, Andreas! We're fine" Ana told him, and gave him a small smile.

"Ana?"

"Sorry, Demetra. I'm just so nervous..." Ana confessed, her hands shaking." I know what we have to do, but honestly, I'm absolutely terrified"

Demetra gave Ana a reassuring smile." Andreas, Christian and I will be there for you... you don't have to be afraid..." She vowed, while squeezing Ana's hand tightly." We have your back... hey, did I mention that I'm a powerful, BAD ASS witch?"

Ana nodded at that, and pulled the young witch in a tight embrace." Thank you, Demetra... you've indeed been sent by Sappheire to get us through this whole ordeal."

As they pulled back from the hug, Demetra's eyes darted towards Andreas." He's heartbroken, you know" she told Ana, her voice trembling slightly." Parthenios stripped him of everything..."

They've gathered enough of the last ingredient, so as they walked back to Andreas' spot, Ana sighed." It's awful what Parthenios did" she remarked." Andreas only disobeyed him, because he wanted to prevent any loss of life... it so isn't fair. He just wanted to protect me"

Demetra nodded in response, a tear rolling down her cheek." He lost all of his possessions, and everything else his family owned... and yet, you know what Andreas finds worse of it all?"

Ana shook her head, feeling a tug at her heart." I don't"

"Not being a 'Phoenix' any longer..."

.

.

.

... Late in the afternoon...

.

.

"I love this place," Ana declared, while she walked hand in hand with Christian towards their destination.

In response, he smiled at the love of his life, and kissed her lightly on the cheek." Happy to hear that, sweetie"

Christian's villa was being renovated, so it was Calinico's idea to stay temporarily at his cottage.

Taylor was right behind his boss of course, on high alert like usual, while another bodyguard walked in front of the two lovebirds.

"R'member a while ago, when you brought me here for the first time?" Ana asked, and gave him a loving look.

"How can I forget" he replied." That day you showed me that true love existed"

As those words reached her ears, Ana's heart melted into a puddle." We will break this wretched curse, Christian"

He nodded in agreement." With Demetra's and Andreas' help, I do believe we finally will" Christian pointed out, believing it with every fiber of his being.

Calinico was already at the cottage with four maids to make the bedrooms and the rest of the house spotless and also, two chefs were in the kitchen preparing meals for Christian and his guests.

Demetra found it a great idea, all of them together, because she could brew the potion at the cottage, there near the woods.

She and Ana had already gathered all the ingredients, including the rare flowers.

The only thing that was missing, was Demetra's 'magic' book.

Before going with Demetra to get the last ingredient the first time, he left the 'magic' book at the 'Phoenixes' headquarters for safe keeping.

That's why Andreas wasn't with them now, but instead was on his way to get Demetra's book.

Without it, she wouldn't be able to brew the potion perfectly. Because in order to succeed, Demetra had to use the right ingredients and more importantly, the amount must be precise.

If not, instead of saving Ana's life, she could be taking it, during the breaking of the family curse.

So, no pressure there... Right?

One would think Demetra would be terrified or nervous, but she wasn't. As she walked behind all of them in the direction of Christian's cottage, she was oddly enjoying the scenery and also focusing on her magic. While inhaling the fresh air, she felt an energy bomb entering her body.

As her eyes landed on Christian and Ana, who walked side by side happily, Demetra had a fierce look on her face, vowing to herself that she will do everything in her power to help them break the curse... even if it meant, giving up her own life in the process.

It was prophesized by her great great grandmother, Sappheire, that she was going to prevent Agathe/ Ana from losing her life during the curse lifting.

Of course Demetra was determined to do anything to fulfill that prophesy.

And also, she had no other choice, you know...

Demetra had no choice, she had to succeed, because she would not only be saving Ana's life, but also the baby Ana was carrying in her womb without her or Christian knowing it.
