After having some food, everyone returned to their seats. Ozpin had a mug of coffee in his hand, while Nora carried a large plate of pancakes with her. Most of the students brought some snacks with them to enjoy the viewing. Vernal and Slyvie each had a plate of takoyaki with them.
"Alright, let's continue the viewing." Ozpin said after he took a sip of his coffee.
"After breakfast, I clearly explain my immediate plan."
(Rin will go to school, Archer guards her in spirit form, and realises there is a bounded field in school when they arrive.)
"As a magus, I'm not about to mince words, but I can't be satisfied until I properly punish the creator of this bounded field."
Everyone felt confused. "Bounded fields are just magical security, right? Why is Rin so angry?" Ruby asked.
"Rin mentioned that her family oversees the land, right? Maybe she's just mad that someone made it without her permission." Weiss answered.
(Rin runs into Sakura, and talks about how Kuzuki cancels the midterm because of a misspelling. Rin asks about Shinji, and Sakura replies that he is fine.)
"Wow, cancelling an exam because there is a single misspelling? I'll be over the moon if that happens to us." Yang said with a grin.
Glynda pushed her glasses, and said. "Good to know that there is at least a teacher there that does their job seriously."
(Sun sets, Rin and Archer investigate the bounded field, explainining the various possible effects. Rin found the origin on the rooftop, and learns the effect of this bounded field.)
"Wait, am I drunk, or is that a full moon?" Qrow asked. On the screen, there is indeed a non-shattered moon in the night sky.
The full moon reminded Ozpin of the era before the gods left. 'How long has it been since I last saw a full moon?' Ozpin thought to himself. He was wondering whether Shirou came from the distant past, or another world entirely.
That is unrelated to the viewing. We will not answer that question.
Slyvie immediately groaned. "What the fuck!?"
"This is a soul-eater. It is a Bloodfort that dissolves people within it and claims the souls that seep out.
Everyone paled. "A soul eater? So it will kill everyone in the school and take their souls?" Blake asked. Ironwood is gripping tightly at his armrest, while Yang looks like she is about to punch something into oblivion.
"How despicable. This is essentially mass murder!" Winter spat out.
"Why would they even do this? Why are they killing so many people?" Weiss exclaimed.
Raven, however, thinks differently. "Well, a wish-granter is on the line, so I wouldn't hesitate to kill an entire school so I can get it."
The teachers and students looked at Raven with disgust and anger. Qrow muttered a few curses under his breath, while Yang felt conflicted. She finally gets to meet her mother, yet how should she act when she is such a cruel woman?
(Archer explains that they are spirits, so eating souls can strengthen them. He says that this bounded field is very efficient in that regard. Rin prepares to erase the seal.)
"That annoys me. Don't ever mention it again, Archer."
The students gave out to a relieved sigh. It seems that Rin is not willing to sacrifice innocent peoples, and is trying to remove the bounded field instead.
"Well, good to know that Rin isn't a bad person." Ruby said.
(Rin chants, erases the seal, Lancer appears behind her, Rin realises she cannot fight on the rooftop, Lancer takes out his spear.)
"The arm that held nothing until now… Now holds a red weapon, two meters long."
"Another Servant? Winter." Ironwood gestured to Winter. She immediately starts to write down Lancer's characteristics in her notebook.
Jaune raised from his seat to squint at the screen. "Wait, isn't that…"
"Shirou's red spear…" Vernal whispered to herself.
"Is that the original owner of the spear?" Raven muttered to herself. She knew Shirou could recreate and use the skills of any weapon he saw, but she always wondered where he saw the majority of his classical weapons.
(Rin jumps over the fence, Archer catched her, Rin runs, Archer stands in front of Rin, facing Lancer, with a sword in hand.)
"In Archer's hand is a shortsword that reflects the weak moonlight."
"Servant… Lancer..."
Ruby let out a huge gasp. "That's Shirou's favourite sword! Kanshou! But where's the white one, Bakuya?"
The audience was amazed. They know Shirou can create weapons, but knowing his signature weapon actually belongs to someone else is really weird.
(Lancer and Archer face each other, Rin gives permission to fight, Lancer and Archer start fighting.)
"Idiot, a mere bowman challenging a close-range fight!"
"Woaah…" Jaune is astonished by their fight. They are moving so fast that he can't even follow their movements. Everyone is similarly surprised.
"Amazing…" Pyrrha muttered to herself. She can barely follow their movements. Lancer's fighting style is wild, yet restrained while Archer's fighting style is calm and precise. She never knew that a spear can be wielded that way. She decided to try and incorporate some of the movements into her own fighting style.
"My gods, are they even humans?" Qrow asked in amazement. He is one of the best huntsman in Vale, but he has never even seen anything close to the fight on screen. He starts to feel somewhat inadequate at himself.
"Vernal, are you seeing it?" Raven asked. "Yeah, their movements are really similar to Shirou when he is using those weapons, just faster and stronger." Vernal replied.
"No, it feels more like Shirou is trying to imitate their fighting style, but somewhat failed." Raven said.
General Ironwood told Winter. "Classify Servants as extremely dangerous and run on sight for now. I don't think even the entire Ace-Ops is enough to deal with a single servant."
(Rin starts to explain what Servants actually are, how they are superhuman beings beyond magic, promoted to heroic spirits after their death and become guardians of humanity, immortalized in the minds of people.)
"Heroes from every age and country are revived into the present day, to kill one another for supremacy. That is why this ritual is called the Holy Grail War."
The audience were amazed. So Servants are actually heroes of the past summoned by the Holy Grail?
"Wow!" Ruby shouted, "So Servants are actually heroes from the past? That's amazing!"
"Yeah! But does that mean they need to kill each other?" Jaune asked. The students feel sad at this, thinking that heroes shouldn't kill each other.
(Rin explains that the Holy Grail established the seven classes of Servant.)
"So that's why they are called Archer and Lancer…" Ozpin muttered to himself.
(Archer's sword crumbled, Lancer strikes, Archer remade Kanshou and Bakuya to deflect.)
"There it is! Bakuya is here!" Ruby squealed. Ozpin however, caught on to Archer's brief chanting.
"I am the bone of my sword?" Ozpin whispered to himself, wondering what it meant.
"Did you see how Archer made his sword?" Raven asked Slyvie and Vernal.
They both nodded. "Yeah, it's really similar to how Shirou made his sword." Vernal replied.
(Archer and Lancer continues their fight)
"…Twenty-seven. I've disarmed you that many times, yet you still have more." Lancer mutters in irritation.
(Rin explains the concept of Noble Phantasm, states that Archer's Noble Phantasm must be a bow.)
"Wow, does that mean Shirou can use Noble Phantasms?" Ruby asked. Everyone is intrigued by the concept of Noble Phantasms. As a tool to recreate legends, Noble Phantasms seems like a powerful weapon.
"There aren't three lancers in this world at your level. And on top of that, there's only one with such beast-like agility."
(Lancer prepares his Noble Phantasm, the air freezes.)
"In that case, you shall face my finishing blow."
Everyone can feel their hair standing up, and the sheer bloodlust the spear is radiating is sickening.
"H-how is that even fucking possible!?" Slyvie managed to wheeze out in her fear. "The spear never acted like that when Shirou use it!"
"Maybe because it's Shirou that used it, not Lancer. If that legend recreation thing is true, only Lancer can use the spear to its fullest. The best Shirou can do is an imitation of Lancer, I believe." Ozpin answers. He was doing better than most, since his numerous death has already desensitized him from bloodlust and fear. However, the spear is still one of the most terrifying weapon he has ever seen, barring the Sword of Destruction.
"So, if anything can stop this battle and stop Archer's defeat, it would be…"
"Who's there…!?"
"It would be the chance appearance of a stranger we have all overlooked."
"What?"
"Wait, a passerby?" Vernal asked.
Jaune scratched his head. "Who stays at school at such a late time anyway?"
"…That figure is definitely wearing a school uniform."
"He went after that guy. He saw us, so Lancer probably went to eliminate him."
(Rin orders Archer to follow Lancer while she catches up.)
"Wait, so Lancer is going to kill the student?" Weiss exclaimed.
"So it would seem. The magi are more determined to stay hidden than I imagined if they are willing to kill all witnesses." Blake hid her grimace. Sometimes civilians will accidentally find a White Fang base, and Adam will send people to "deal with it". She knows that they most likely killed them, it's one of the reasons why she decided to leave the White Fang.
"But they can't kill a person just because he accidentally saw them! It's wrong!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Well, not everyone thinks of right and wrong, brat. People do what they think is necessary, and you have no right to tell them to stop just because "it's wrong"." Vernal replied dryly.
"A student is lying on the cold hallway floor and Archer is standing still."
(Archer follows Lancer, Rin blames herself, student is still alive and Rin rolls him around to face her."
"…Stop it. Why does it have to be you?"
Several gaps can be heard from the audience. They are all shocked at seeing Shirou, the Sword Hunter, just lying on the floor with a hole in his heart.
Slyvie and Ruby start to tear up, while Raven and Vernal look like they are about to kill someone. However, before the students properly processed their shock over Shirou's death, something on the screen shook them out of their stupor.
"…There is a way.
I might fail and lose my last resort in the process, but there is still a way.
No, I'll lose my last resort whether I succeed or fail, so the result for me won't change."
(Rin uses the energy in her pendant to heal Shirou, goes home, left pendant behind.)
Ruby wiped her tears away and immediately cheered. "Yes! Shirou is alive! Rin saved him!"
Slyvie wiped away her tears, and tried to act like nothing happened. Vernal still gave her a hug, though.
(Rin goes home, explains about Servants and their true names, Archer returns and asks Rin her wish. Rin explains that she have no wish and is fighting to win)
"Hey now, Archer. The world is just another word for the things you value around you, right? That's something I've had since I was born. If you tell me to rule such a world, I already rule it."
(Archer returns Rin her pendant, Rin realized Lancer will chase down Shirou, she immediately heads out.)
"So… if such a Master finds out the guy they killed didn't die, what would he do?"
The students start to panic again. Is Lancer going to kill Shirou again? None of them want to see that happen again.
"Hurry up and get there, Rin!" Vernal shouted, "Or I'll gut you like a fucking fish!"
"Yeah, hurry!" Ruby and Jaune start to cheer for Rin.
(Rin arrives at the outside of the house, there is a bright light, Lancer jumps away, Saber cuts down Archer, Rin used her command seal, Saber is now facing Rin.)
"That magic was splendid, Magus."
"But this is your end, Master of Archer."
(Rin is about to be cut down by Saber.)
"Because she's the most powerful Servant. Because her figure is just so heartless, so infinitely valiant, and so beautiful…"
Everyone was stunned into silence by Saber's appearance. She is really beautiful under the moonlight, even if she is about to cut down Rin.
"Wow…" Jaune exclaimed. Saber's knightly appearance amazed him. It feels like she is the ideal image of a white knight from a fairy tale, something that he is striving to be. He was wondering just how he can become like Saber.
Slyvie on the other hand is feeling a little heartbroken. No wonder Shirou is searching for the girl. Saber is so beautiful that her heart skipped a beat when she appeared. Vernal noticed this and tried to cheer her up. "Slyvie, don't be sad. Maybe you will learn why Shirou likes her in the next viewing? Shirou's not the kind of person to fall in love simply because of looks, ya know?"
Hearing this, Slyvie wipes her tears away. "Thanks, Vernal. Maybe you're right, so I'm not gonna lay down and let some Shirou get taken away by some girl I don't know!"
She exclaimed with a fist pump.
"Is it just me, or Saber looks rather similar to you, Glynda?" Ironwood asked. Glynda had a look of understanding on her face. "So that's why he said that back then…"
