"I want you more than any blue sky!"

A small sigh left Hina's mouth as she remembered that crazy line Hodoka told her when he brought her back to the world.

"Why would you say something like that?" Hina silently asked as if Hodoka was anywhere near her. The truth however, was that Hodoka had been sent back to his home island and was under probation until he graduated high school. Hina had not seen Hodoka since the day she came back to Earth, but a day where she did not think of him even for a split second would not pass.

Three years have passed since then and the rain is just as harsh as it had been since it started. Eventually, Hina became desensitized to the sound of the hard raindrops hitting her bedroom window.

Hina and Nagi had moved in with the Suga family, which they were both extremely grateful to them for, however, like the rest of Tokyo, the atmosphere of their home was very gloomy. The constant rain meant that little to no sunlight was entering their rooms. Nagi had managed to adapt quickly to their new home, despite water leakages happening more frequently than he is used to. Hina on the other hand, while she could adjust to her new surroundings, did not make much effort to try and make it her own, as more often than not, she would be too lost in her own thoughts to even consider a slight amount of redecorating.

Too many things were on Hina's mind. Most prominently, was the flood of Tokyo her fault? Was it Hodoka's for convincing her to come back? Does he also feel guilty about it? These were questions that Hina constantly asked herself, which ended up making her enter a spiral of guilt and depression. Hina had already shared these thoughts with the rest of the family and while it was reassuring to know that they did not blame her for the changes in their lives, she could not help but have a bit of doubt. However, the other thing that was always on her mind was Hodoka.

Hina was made aware of what Hodoka had went through to try and reach her, such as getting arrested, going on the run, overexerting himself by running on the railroads to reach the shrine and pointing a gun at his new father figure. If the flooding didn't make her feel guilty enough, the guilt she felt for making Hodoka go through such hardships for her was a huge punch in the stomach. Although she felt guilty about making him go through all of that, a small part of her was happy that she meant that much to him. Now, all she wanted was to see him again. She would definitely scold him for doing all of that stuff though.

"Seriously... how crazy are you?" Hina, once again, asked as if Hodoka could hear her. Suddenly, a light, but quick knock on the door came. Hina knew who it was considering Keisuke was at work and Nagi was on a date. "Come in!" She yelled.

"Hey kiddo!" Natsumi said as she opened the door.

"Hi Natsumi." Hina responded. "Did you need something?"

"Nah, just wanted to check in and see how you were doing." Natsumi answered. Natsumi was like the older sister Hina never had. Whenever something was on Hina's mind, whether it be about school or her guilt, Hina felt very comfortable talking to Natsumi about it. At worst, Natsumi was a good listener and at best, would give Hina some advice on how to cope with any issue she might have at the moment. "I brought snacks." Natsumi said with a bright and beautiful smile.

"Sorry, I'm not really hungry right now." Hina said, regretfully. In truth, she had not eaten since yesterday, but her current mood was affecting her appetite.

"Well, if you're not gonna eat, I'd suggest going outside for a walk." Natsumi said.

Hina, despite feeling guilty about the flooding, actually started to get used to walking in the rain. At times, she even enjoyed it. Watching the raindrops bounce off the concrete and hearing them hit her umbrella was somewhat calming to her.

"I guess I'll take you up on that." Hina said.

"Don't stay out too long though. Won't want you getting sick." Natsumi said. "Oh, and could you also stop by the convenience store and pick up some groceries?"

'So that's why she suggested I go outside' Hina thought. Not the she was complaining. She owed the Suga family for taking her in so the least she could do is help with things like groceries. Although she did find that it could be overbearing at times. "Sure thing." Hina answered. She put on her raincoat, boots, grabbed her umbrella and grocery money from Natsumi and out the door she went. As expected, her coat and umbrella were soaked immediately and some water had already started to enter inside her clothing. However, Hina had adjusted to it over the past 3 years so it did not bother her much. It was only annoying when she had to change clothes after coming home as soaked clothes felt disgusting to take off.

After a few minutes of walking towards the convenience store, she recognized the path she was walking on as the same one where she was blown into the air while she was with Hodoka. It was a frightening experience for her as it happened soon after Natsumi's explanation of the Sunshine Girl being a human sacrifice. She had thought it would have been that moment when the sky would take her life, but it was not. She knew she had a bit more time to spend with Hodoka and wanted to make sure she did not waste a single second. Now, here she is again, wishing to see Hodoka's face again. She looked to the sky, put her hands together, and started to pray, not for the rain to go away, but to see Hodoka. She prayed harder for this wish than any of the times she had prayed while she was a Sunshine Girl. Just as she was about to finish...

"Hina!"

Hina opened her eyes in shock as she did not think for a second that her prayer would actually work. There was no mistaking it. That was Hodoka's voice.

"Hodoka!" Hina yelled in excitement. Immediately after noticing each other, they ran towards each other, Hina jumping into Hodoka's arms the second she was close enough and Hodoka spinning her around after catching her. "What's wrong Hodoka? Are you okay?" Hina asked as she noticed a long stream of tears running down his face. She then tried to wipe them away, but Hodoka grabbed her hand and pulled it away from his face, preferring to have her hand in his own.

"Yeah." Hodoka responded. "I'm sure... we'll be alright!"

So this is the first fic I've ever written and I decided to do it on Tenki no Ko because of how important this movie is considering what's been happening in my life.

That being said, I want to point out a few things. First, yes, I know that at the end of the film, Hina was in her school uniform, implying she was probably on her way home from school rather than randomly deciding to go on a walk. I didn't actually realize this until after watching the movie again, but I had already finished writing this bit. Second, I'm not sure if I'll be continuing this as the only thing on my mind was just how life for Hina was during the ending of the film and I hope I portrayed it at least decently. Personally, for my first ever fanfic, I don't think I did too bad but I could be wrong.

Anyways, feedback is appreciated, and if enough people like it, I might continue this.

Thanks for reading!
