Prologue
A New Threat on the Horizon
-Mirai Timeline-
-Unknown POV-
Ta-tok. Ta-tok. Ta-tok.
"Not good. Not good at all."
A rather short, wrinkled looking being stood in front of a rather large cocoon looking pod. Said pod was brown in color and had pulsating veins that could be seen on the outside. Steady footsteps were heard clanking on the metal flooring of the ship as another being joined the short one, stopping in front of the pod.
"Is everything alright, master?" This new being was the opposite of the other, with a significant height difference and a more muscular physique.
"Still not enough energy." The short being muttered aloud as he tapped his fingernail against the pod. There was irritation in his eyes as he tried to think of a solution to his problem. "We have been collecting energy for years and it's still not enough!"
"Perhaps we could try Earth, master." The taller being suggested calmly, not reacting as his master's voice raised in anger during the last sentence. "After all, that…crisis on Earth has been dealt with and would no longer be a threat."
The short being turned his irritated look to his taller subordinate. "That same crisis, as you put it, took out almost all of the human population! How is there supposed to be enough energy on that pathetic planet for Majin Buu?" The short being, known to some as Babidi, criticized. Scoffing, Babidi turned back to the pod in front of him. "Why don't you come to me with a better suggestion, Dabura."
Dabura didn't react to the insult Babidi had thrown at him. "I have been watching the planet for the past couple of years." He announced, continuing to explain his suggestion. "The crisis that was occurring on Earth was defeated by two individuals. Their power levels indicate that they are not human as the other humans have very minuscule power levels." Babidi, although still irritated, stopped the tapping on the pod as he took in what Dabura was talking about. "Perhaps there is something we can do to use their energy for Majin Buu's awakening."
"Hmm…" Babidi muttered as he crosses his arms, one of his hands moving to rest on his chin in thought. Babidi was still irritated, but silently decided to hear his subordinate out. "Are the ranges of their power levels known?"
Dabura grimaced. "No, master." He stated. "We were in the Southern Quadrant when the crisis was eliminated. I'm afraid we were unable to pick up any detection of any elevated power levels as we were too far out of range."
Babidi sighed as he turned around once more to face Dabura. The irritated look on his face had dropped and was now replaced with a thoughtful one. Without a word to Dabura, Babidi began walking until he reached his crystal ball. "Two beings, you say." He repeated, getting a silent nod from Dabura. "Let me check them out myself."
It didn't take long for the crystal ball to focus on Earth. While they weren't close to the planet themselves, they were once more in the Northern Quadrant. The crystal ball quickly cycled through sections of the planet known as Earth as it searched for the power levels that Dabura had claimed were present.
Babidi smiled a wicked grin as the crystal ball focused in. "It seems you missed a few others as well, Dabura." He said as plans started to form. Before said plans got too far, Babidi once again returned to thought. "Though two of them are really young. The likelihood of getting ahold of them is highly unlikely. The third is young, but she is old enough." Babidi looks though his crystal ball once more. "I see the two you were originally talking about, but the extent of their energy is blocked from me."
A satisfied smile came over Dabura's face. He had found a solution that his master had been looking for desperately. "Maybe a test is in order." He suggested.
The wicked smile returned to Babidi's face once more. "I like how you think, Dabura." He said happily. "We've waited this long. What's a little while longer going to hurt?" Babidi briefly turns away from the crystal ball to face Dabura. "Remember that one planet we found? The one in the West Quadrant?"
It only took a minute for Dabura to remember what his master was initially talking about. His features lit up in recognition, and a smile came over his face. "Ah, yes. I remember." He announced. "What is it you'll have me do, master?"
"Nothing quite yet, Dabura," Babidi replied, calmly in thought. His facial expressions quickly turned sour as his thoughts continued as he started planning his movements in his head. "Those damn Kais are watching our movements. I just know it." Although still irritated, Babidi tried to calm the expression that showed on his face. "We need to be careful if my new plan is going to work."
"Of course, master." Dabura said, respectively.
Babidi was silent for a few moments as he went through ideas in his head and figuring out which would be the better option. "Bring the two prisoners up to me." He ordered in a sharp, decisive tone. The wicked smile once again returned to Babidi's face. "I'll…enhance them…" Dabura smirked at the implication that Babidi was making. "…then, we'll send them over to that planet in the Western Quadrant." Babidi had turned back to the crystal ball that was now focusing on the male of the two with elevated power levels that Dabura had mentioned. The crystal ball darkened as Babidi finished his session and turned to look in the direction that Earth was located. "Certainly, they'll go fleeing straight to Earth. Then we'll have a better idea if those energies will be enough to wake Majin Buu."
A.N.: Let me know what you think of this chapter.
Likes? Dislikes? General Opinions?
It was pretty obvious from the start who the enemy was going to be, so I didn't try to hide it. How do you think the fight against Majin Buu will be different in the Mirai timeline in comparison to the Canon Timeline? Anything you're hoping to see?
