Disclaimer: I do not own the Mummy or the Mummy Returns. Just writing for fun.

A/n: So, I did have half a mind to write the third one, but then I was like, I really don't want to. I'm sorry guys. I think it's best if maybe Rory's story stays in Egypt with Ardeth Bay and have lot's of babies together lol. Anyway, enjoy! Thank you for the follows, the favorites, and the reviews. They really did mean a lot.

Chapter 39: Forever

Rory met with Ardeth in Thebes, Egypt. She protested against Rick to go alone with her camel, and would send to him if she needed anything, but she knew the medjai. The medjai were raised to stay in Egypt and helped protect the world. She had no idea there were other mummies out there. When she saw Ardeth for the first time in a long time, her heart melted and her body turned to sand falling out of her hand.

"Ardeth," she whispered.

"Rory," he said, mounting off his horse to go see her. They embraced in a long hug. A much needed hug from him. "Is this how it's going to be now, you come see me every eight or ten years?"

Rory sniffled against his shoulder. "No," she bemoaned. "I want to stay here with you. Rick prompted me to go with him to China, but in truth, I really don't want to go."

"So don't go," Ardeth coaxed her. "Stay with me. I've missed you so much. It's been too long."

Rory nodded. "It really has. So then that's it? I stay here with you and the medjai?"

"Is that what you really want?" he asked.

"I'm tired of the city. The loud noises. The people. Jonathan," Rory said and then she grinned. "Okay, Jonathan isn't so bad, I guess he's just worried about me and I don't want to worry him anymore or you."

He tightened her hands. "Then it's settled. You are staying out here with us. China as far as I'm concerned can handle themselves. I've seen them do it for a thousand years. They're smart, and they're good people. Rick and Evie should do finely with them."

"Are you sure? I mean this is my best friend we're talking about here. Richard O'Connell… and his wife Evie…who just love to bring mummies to life and start Armageddon."

He chuckled. "Then it's his problem. It's not ours. We're not allowed to go over there, Rory. My place is here with my people. We can't cross that line."

"Oh," Rory said, biting her lip. "Well, in that case. I can't cross the line either. I mean I do have Egyptian ties here, don't I?"

"Yes, you do," he said.

"So then it is settled."

Ardeth kissed the top of her head and then moved down to kiss her on the lips, that soon melted and made her heart turn to mush, making her weak in the knees.

"You're mine," he whispered against her. "Forever."

"I'm yours, forever," Rory said in the same whisper and kissed him eternally.
