Mystic Falls

Legacy. Scott couldn't get what Rebekah said out of his mind neither could he ignore the familiar feeling of his secondary talisman back around his neck on his way to a restaurant to get Lydia her breakfast along with himself and the SPGs.

After Rebekah had her say, she realized that although Esther's talisman had the strongest of sentimental value to her, it was time for her to relinquish it and entrust it to the long thought impossible third generation of the family; Scott. And she did.

The necklace was now officially Scott's but as much as a part of him wanted to wear it with pride and have it hang out of his shirt, he couldn't because of Klaus and Kol's presence in town, so it was hidden by his shirt.

Going back to legacy, Scott...

'Sorry to disturb, King Alpha.' Raven3 interrupted. 'I have discovered some of the leaders in on the proposal and one of them is a bit of a shock.'

'It's alright, Raven3.' Scott replied. 'Who is it?'

'Your former AP biology teacher Mrs Finch. She's an alpha, the Alpha of Primal Pack.' Raven3 responded, shocking Scott.

'You're kidding.'

'I'm not.' Raven3 assured. 'Mrs Finch and her daughter Quinn are both werewolves and part of the Primal Pack. But things are a bit tense between them at the moment. Finch's decision to have the Primal Pack join New Beacon Pack is not popular in the pack.

Members are against it and so is Quinn. It seems Finch has been pushing for the pack to be more civil and embrace their human nature but the pack isn't willing to do that, especially as part of your pack.

Quinn has described you as the very apotheosis of self-control, the opposite of Primal Pack's way of life.'

'I'm anything but the apotheosis of self-control.' Scott said, really surprised Mrs Finch and Quinn's revealed werewolf status. 'Tell me about the pack's way of life.'

'The rumour that Primal Pack has given up everything that connects it to civilization is somewhat mostly true. You remember Ennis, Kali and Kincaid, right? How they always had their claws protracted?'

'Yeah.'

'Well, the Primal Pack is always fully shifted and prefers walking and running on all fours and behave very much like natural wild wolves. The only members of the pack I've seen in human form are Finch and Quinn, but once they reach the woods, they fully shift.'

'Wow. Um, which species have you found that we haven't encountered before?'

'Fairy and Gorgon.' Raven3 replied.

'Gorgon? As in snake hair and the ability to turn people into stone?' Scott asked.

'Yes.'

'Thanks, Raven3. I'll look at your memories later.' Scott responded, and Raven3 acknowledged before signing off as Scott arrived at a restaurant and after joining the queue, made his order when it was his turn and then waited for it at an empty table, his thoughts shifting to Beacon Hills, but not for long.

"Good morning." Meredith greeted.

"Doctor Fell." He responded.

"Mind if I join you?" Meredith asked.

"Um, no," Scott replied, and Meredith joined him.

"I was going to call you later to apologize for the Council's actions against your friends and thank you."

"And try to get me on your side to expand your knowledge on supernatural creatures and our community and help you contain vampires," Scott added, surprising Meredith.

"How...?" She asked.

"I have my ways, doctor." Scott interrupted. "I used to be more trusting and saw the best in people, but that's the thing, I used to be. When people attack my pack, I make sure there is no second time and I'm at least a step ahead of them.

I accept your apology and you're welcome. But if anyone from the Town Council tries to harm my pack again, I will not accept any apologies. I kept my word that no one was going to kill anyone yesterday. I have another word to keep now."

"If anyone tries to hurt your friends again, you won't paralyze them. You'll tear them apart. Piece by piece. Including Kol who although you can't kill, you can hurt. I remember and so does the Council." Meredith said. "You've proven to be a man of your word. I'm a woman of mine.

And like I said; you're not our enemy. If anything, I would like for us to be allies."

"An alliance means meeting each other halfway and mutual benefit," Scott responded. "You mean to get me on your side to gain inside information on supernatural beings and our community and help you with your vampire problem.

I understand you plan to protect wolves by law in the area, but what do you offer us with equal value to what you seek from me? But most importantly, what guarantee can you give me that you aren't going to use the information against me, my pack and allies?"

That gave Meredith pause, but Scott didn't wait for her response.

"You can't guarantee me anything, though." He said. "But that doesn't mean I won't help you with one of your problems; the vampire problem. I suggested that you meet with representatives of other species in Mystic Falls to discuss peaceful coexistence.

But since a lot of supernaturals like their privacy and secrecy and the Town Council's history with vampires doesn't help with that, maybe you should start with vampires. You're already familiar with two vampires; Caroline and Stefan.

Start with them. You have something in common with them."

"Which is?" Meredith asked.

"Blood," Scott replied. "They steal blood from the hospital because they need it to sustain themselves and they don't want to hurt people to get it. And you kill vampires because they steal blood meant for patients at the hospital. Your shared problem is your solution."

Meredith didn't need it to be spelt out for her since she secretly collected vampire blood from the vampires the Town Council captures and kills to heal patients. She hated it when patients die, especially when she knows there's something that can help them so she used it whenever possible.

"You're suggesting that I make a deal with vampires to give them blood meant for patients at the hospital in exchange for their vampire blood and give it to the patients and risk producing more vampires?" Meredith questioned.

"Yes," Scott responded. "But the risk can be eliminated immediately after patients heal."

"How?" Meredith asked, and unconsciously leaned forward, eager for the solution to a big fear of hers, prompting Scott to furrow his brows at the action and hope.

"Order Zero-one-seven!" The restaurant order announcer announced.

"That's my order," Scott said, just as his phone vibrated with an incoming call. "You have my phone number, so we can talk once you have an agreement with Caroline and Stefan or at least one of them. Excuse me, Doctor Fell."

With that, Scott stood and went to collect his order before answering the call on his way out.

"Mom." He greeted Melissa.

Meredith watched as Scott left, barely able to stop herself from going after him for the answer because it was a game-changer, a big one.

"I hate this modern world," Valerie said, as she walked into the shower room in their section with Mary and Nora. "It's so loud and..."

"And comes with ready to use showers, electricity and smartphones and laptops and most importantly, we (Mary and Nora) don't have to hide who we love." Nora interrupted, ending with kissing Mary.

"The last part is the only thing that makes this world bearable," Mary stated after the kiss.

"Lucky you, Mary," Valerie responded.

"We could help you get someone to make it bearable for you too," Nora replied. "Just say the word. I'm sure Olivia won't mind helping."

"Not interested."

"Liar. But your loss. Come, Mary Lou. We have a steamy shower to share." Nora said, and Mary followed her.

"That shower better be steamy because of hot water or else I'll rain vervain water on you," Valerie warned.

"Don't you dare," Mary responded.

"You need to get yourself a woman," Nora added.

Bonnie woke up to her phone ringing and tried to ignore it but it kept on ringing, forcing her to fully wake up and answer the call.

"Hey, Bonnie." Stefan greeted.

"Stefan."

"Could we meet?" Stefan asked. "I know your father doesn't want you to associate with me but there's something I need to speak with you about."

"Er, yeah. Sure. About my dad, what he doesn't know won't hurt him. You left the Grill before I was done. When and where do you want to meet?" Bonnie replied.

"I could come by your house if your father isn't home in like an hour."

"I have training in an hour. Make it forty minutes."

"Alright. Thanks, Bonnie."

Done with their showers, Cora, Malia and Rebekah went to the public dining room of the boarding house with the MPGs to have their breakfast.

Lydia and Scott's Apartment

When Scott arrived at the apartment building, he passed by SPGs' apartments to leave their share of breakfast before going to his own but didn't wake Lydia immediately. Instead, he took a shower first, during which he thought about the phone call from Melissa.

Apart from just calling to check on her son and how things were going with Rebekah, Melissa called to update Scott on Doctor Innocent's progress in turning the Dread Doctors' lairs into functional research laboratories and research on GS.

It seemed working on Mikael's body gave Doctor Innocent a lot of experience and knowledge along with extraordinary skills because he was already working on reverse-engineering the GS with plans of improving it while still overseeing the development of the underground secret labs.

Scott was sure the fact that Doctor Innocent could extend his natural life with the GS served as an incentive and he was probably cutting his sleeping time short for it. But he didn't dwell on that for long.

Scott was having dinner with his biological father and half-uncle today and that was on the forefront of his mind no matter how much he tried not to think about it and Rebekah didn't help with that.

That thought brought Scott to the issue Sky raised about the pack getting new clothes for the dinner, which is why he took a quick shower and got ready to wake Lydia. But he didn't need to.

Lydia woke up on her own just as Scott entered her bedroom with her breakfast.

TRANSITION

The Boarding House

Speaking of breakfast, Lillian had the Heretics join Lucas and Olivia in the dining room for breakfast.

Although being around so many people made the Heretics uneasy because of the time they spent alone in the prison world, Lillian couldn't have them miss their first breakfast outside their prison.

As amazing as the marvels of the modern world were, the prison world taught Lillian Salvatore just how important family was and she cherished every moment they spent together and soon, her family was going to be whole again.

Well, hopefully, since they knew Lorenzo's whereabouts but not Malcolm's.

"When are we leaving?" Oscar inquired, gaining Lillian's attention.

"In three hours," Lucas responded instead of Lillian, though. "Our flight leaves in three hours."

"So, we have three hours to kill," Nora said.

"Less than that," Olivia replied. "We have to get to the airport in time or else we'll miss the flight."

"When are we leaving?" Mary repeated Oscar's question.

"When our rides get here to pick us up. Say a little over an hour."

"That should be enough time for us to go out and explore modern Mystic Falls," Nora said.

"We can explore the town another time," Lillian responded. "For now, we're just passing through."

"So, what? We should just sit here for an hour?" Valerie questioned.

"Yes," Beau answered, tapping his ear with his eyes directing everyone to a table a few tables away, Cora, Malia, Rebekah and MPGs' table, upon hearing them talking about smelling vampire-witch hybrid scents, and everyone followed his direction. "And listen to me sing and play the piano.

I saw a beautiful grand piano upstairs and I'd love to play it before we leave."

"It has been some time since we heard you sing, Beau. It would be nice to hear you sing again." Lillian replied while listening to Malia's table.

"One person is missing," Cora said to Malia, Rebekah and the MPGs, talking about the Heretics and the Parkers. "Aren't they nine in total?"

"There is no fresh scent from the human," Mira replied.

"Maybe they use him as their blood bag," Rebekah suggested. "Or they killed him."

"I doubt it. His scent is very close to the two witches."

"If that's the case and they are leaving soon, we have nothing to worry about," Malia responded. "Except Scott and your (Rebekah's) brothers. How do you think the dinner will go?"

"I don't know. Which is why I'm going to see for myself?" Rebekah answered.

"What do you mean?" Cora asked.

"I'm going to watch the dinner and that coven over there is going to be useful and help me with a spell to hide my presence."

That quickly brought a smile to Malia's face.

"Count me in." She said.

"Crown Alpha..." Luna began, against the idea.

"Don't worry about it, Luna." Malia interrupted.

"I still have to tell you that I don't think that's a good idea." Luna gave her opinion. "How do you know that you can trust those witches? They are going to disappear in an hour."

"That's a good question," Cora commented.

"Five vampire-witch hybrids, loves. Emphasis on vampires. They are the perfect coven to help us." Rebekah responded, standing up to head for the Heretics and Parkers' table.

"Stay here," Malia said, getting up to join Rebekah.

"I'm coming with you," Cora stated, standing up too.

"They do say three is magical," Rebekah replied, and together, the three left the table.

"Scott isn't going to like this," Oba said to his fellow guards.

"Yep." Juan agreed. "It's like they forgot about Raven2."

Seeing the trio approaching their table, Lillian silently warned the others to be calm.

"Good morning, ladies and gents." Rebekah greeted the group once they arrived before the table. "We require your help."

"With what?" Lillian asked.

"A simple spell," Malia responded.

"The invisibility spell, to be specific." Rebekah specified.

"What's in it for us?" Beau inquired.

"What do you want?" Cora asked.

"Our peace," Lillian replied.

"In other words, to be left alone." Mary clarified.

"That seems fair. We all get what we want." Rebekah said. "Who is the leader of your coven?"

"That would be me," Lillian answered.

"You're the leader?" Cora and Malia asked in unison, surprised.

"Interesting. A vampire who leads a coven of vampire-witch hybrids." Rebekah responded. "Could we talk in private, darling? I think we have much to discuss and time is not on our side."

"That's not..." Valerie began.

"Just the two of us." Rebekah interrupted her, looking at Lillian. "Of course, If you're uncomfortable with that, we can each have one of our friends join us."

Lillian saw that for what it was, a challenge, from a little girl, probably a young vampire. And accepted it as Rebekah expected.

"It can be just the two of us," Lillian replied. "But if we're going to talk we might as well introduce ourselves."

"I'm Rebekah and these are my friends Cora and Malia."

"Lillian." Lillian introduced herself. "These are my friends and since you want to speak with me and just me, we'll leave it at that."

That said, Lillian stood up.

"I'll be back." She told her coven, and then addressed Rebekah. "Shall we?"

Rebekah only nodded and showed Lillian the way, outside the boarding house.

"What are you?" Nora asked Cora and Malia, knowing they weren't human nor vampire.

"Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking such a question?" Cora retorted.

"Don't...!" Mary began.

"It's alright, Mary Lou. I'm Nora and this is my girlfriend Mary." Nora introduced and continued introducing Beau, Oscar and Valerie and Lucas and Olivia.

"Now, what are you?" Mary repeated Nora's question afterwards.

In response, Cora and Malia shifted their human eyes into their respective shapeshifter eyes for a brief moment.

"That should answer your question," Malia said.

"You're evolved werewolves," Oscar stated, surprised. "I've never met evolved werewolves before. Or any werewolves."

"Evolved werewolves?" Olivia inquired, her interest piqued. "Have you heard the rumours going around about an evolved alpha werewolf in New Orleans?"

Cora and Malia shared a look before Malia responded.

"Just bits and pieces. We're thinking about going to New Orleans to get the full story." She said and asked. "What have you heard?"

While Olivia replied, Rebekah had Lillian look her in the eye when they were far enough from the boarding house and compelled her to tell her everything about the Heretics and how they came to be to bring the details closer to the surface so that she could use her vampire mind-melding.

Bennett-Hopkins House

Stefan found Bonnie already waiting for him outside her house, sitting on one of the chairs outside.

"Hey." He greeted.

"Hi." Bonnie returned. "You're looking better than yesterday."

"Thanks to you. Thanks for coming to the rescue, by the way."

"You're welcome."

"When did Scott get here, anyway?" Stefan asked conversationally.

"Yesterday. He came by the Grill after Tyler left and they met."

"So he came here to visit Tyler?"

"He's accompanying a friend of his who has some personal business in town," Bonnie answered. "What did you want to talk about?"

"The person we're talking about; Scott," Stefan replied, and gained a questioning look. "I know that he saved Caroline and me, but after what Kol said and what Scott did... He killed-no; 'he destroyed the strongest faction in New Orleans all in one night'! Doesn't that scare you, Bonnie?"

"Not really," Bonnie said, surprising Stefan. "Because I know why he did what he did."

"What?!"

"Yeah," Bonnie responded. "Look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you but I had to speak with Scott before I took everything the Spirits said about him as the absolute truth. The way they were talking about him...

The Spirits made Scott look worse than Klaus and a total stranger compared to the Scott I've known since I met him and I had to know if what they were saying was true."

"So you kept this to yourself and kept me in the dark?" Stefan questioned, not pleased.

"What would telling you half the story accomplish, Stefan? What would you have done if I revealed what I knew before I spoke with Scott?" Bonnie returned.

"I don't know! Maybe I would have known sooner that there's a chance Scott might be the one who took away my abilities." Stefan replied, surprising Bonnie, and he saw that, though he saw something else too, something that suggested there was something she might know about that.

"Bonnie?" He asked slowly. "What more are you not telling me? Does Scott have something to do with me losing my vampire abilities?"

"Before I answer that question, let me tell you why Scott 'destroyed the strongest faction in New Orleans'," Bonnie said after releasing a long sigh. "Scott and his pack destroyed Vampire Faction because Vampire Faction was hunting, kidnapping and experimenting on supernaturals."

Stefan's mind immediately saw the parallel between himself, Greta and Vampire Faction and losing their respective powers.

"The Lucien Scott brought up yesterday was one of two Leaders of Vampire Faction and Kings of New Orleans and the leader of the organization that did everything." Bonnie continued. "When Scott and his pack found out about what they were doing, they had a hard choice to make.

They could either let Lucien live and Vampire Faction continues ruling New Orleans and doing what they did or stop them. They decided to stop them and killed Lucien and destroyed Vampire Faction in one night with a surprise attack and rescued the survivors.

A lot of people died that night, on both sides, but mostly on Vampire Faction's side due to Scott's Pack attacking during a full moon which empowered them and their anger at Vampire Faction and what they did to them for years.

I don't know how Scott became Alpha of Werewolf Faction and changed it to New Beacon Pack; the Spirits don't have full details because that happened on werewolf land and outside New Orleans.

But they know it was on the night of the attack, after moonrise and before the attack because Scott made his subspecies of werewolves in-between."

"Scott did what?"

"It looks like I'm going to be late for my training," Bonnie said and continued.

"An alpha of nine different packs?" Oscar was amazed after Olivia was done.

"Nine," Olivia answered, showing the figure with her fingers. "I don't think that's ever happened before."

"If only witches could accept evolution in their species," Beau said, wishing ordinary witches could accept siphon witches.

"They will," Lucas responded.

"What are you talking about?" Cora asked, but didn't receive an answer from the Heretics or the Parkers, having gotten seats for themselves.

"There are evolved witches," Malia replied. "And they don't possess their own personal magic but they can siphon magic and use it, that's why they're called siphon witches. I read about them.

Judging by how you all went quiet, I guess you're... (Malia trailed off as she realized something.) You're siphon witches, aren't you? That's why you're vampire-witch hybrids. Ordinary witches can't become vampires without losing their ability to practice magic, but you... You can."

"You're the first person to come to that conclusion all on her own," Nora said, impressed. "It seems you're an alpha at such a young age for a reason beyond your pretty face. And you know what? I'll do you a favour and do the spell you want for you.

But what's the deal with Scott and Rebekah's brothers? Why do you want to spy on them?"

"Boys and their egos," Rebekah answered, announcing her return with Lillian, rolling her eyes. "They might get into a fight and we need to be there to stop it. And eavesdrop on their conversation."

"I'm guessing Scott is a werewolf and part of your (Cora and Malia's) pack and your (Rebekah's) brothers are vampires." Oscar guessed. "And you (Rebekah) couldn't help but fall for the big bad wolf that can kill you with just a bite and your brothers aren't thrilled about that.

And so the boyfriend is meeting the brothers to either prove himself or reach common ground and you're concerned about all parties involved since anything could happen if a fight occurs. After all, your brothers might gang up on your boyfriend and kill him and he could bite and kill them too."

"What makes you think that?" Rebekah inquired, although her mind couldn't help but think about Klaus and Kol finding out that she liked Scott and they had sex.

"Girls and their Romeos."

"Scott is Malia's boyfriend and we would rather not have him and my brothers at each other's throats."

"You've decided to help them?" Lillian asked Nora, sitting down, the same with Rebekah who had a chair waiting for her.

"Yes," Nora replied.

"I'll help," Mary said.

"I guess you might as well make your pitch," Lillian told Rebekah.

"Malia already has this covered," Rebekah responded. "But if the invisibility spell holds tonight, I might call you with an offer for your services."

"We're not witches for hire," Valerie stated.

"Good. This means when you accept my offer, you'll be working for me exclusively."

"What makes you think that we will accept your offer?" Beau inquired.

"Your question tells me you're interested and that's all I need to know," Rebekah replied.

"We shall see," Lillian said.

"It's just the three of you, right?" Mary asked.

"Yes," Malia responded.

"Well, then, let's get this over with so you can get back to your pack and Beau can give us a show."

Shocked silence, that was the result of Bonnie revealing things to Stefan.

"Wasn't an original vampire-werewolf hybrid enough?" He asked himself.

"Someone or some people didn't think so," Bonnie said.

"But how...?"

"I don't know," Bonnie replied. "Scott and the Spirits are tight-lipped about the how but they have compared Scott to Klaus, so there's a possibility he is an original vampire-werewolf-witch tribrid. This is one of the reasons I didn't say anything.

Now that you know, though, I can confirm that Scott is the one who took your abilities along with Greta's magic. You know why. I explained your situation to him and I think he might be thinking about giving you your abilities back and that might be one of the reasons he's here."

"You know, there's a chance Elena might have been alive if Scott didn't take my powers from me," Stefan said quietly. "But no, he had to play supernatural police, judge, jury and executioner and take my abilities away from me and Elena died as a result. Because of him!"

"Scott doesn't have anything to do with Rebekah killing Elena and you know it, Stefan." Caroline made her presence known, having walked to Bonnie's house, gaining Bonnie and Stefan's attention. "Don't put the blame where it doesn't belong."

"If I had..."

"You know that it wouldn't have made any difference." Caroline interrupted, sitting on the steps. "I've thought a lot about that night and what-ifs and I don't see our abilities playing any role in every possibility I can think of. Including Bonnie's, and she's the most powerful person in our circle of friends."

Stefan deflated at that truth is but...

"But what right does Scott have to judge and punish people?" He asked. "Who judges and punishes him? You know what he did."

"Would you rather have an organization dedicated to hunting, kidnapping and experimenting on people running around and doing exactly that?" Bonnie questioned. "What do you think an organization like that would do if they found someone like you; a vampire without vampire abilities?

Wouldn't you want someone like Scott to help you if you're ever a victim of kidnapping and experimentation?"

"I wouldn't need someone like Scott if he didn't take away my abilities," Stefan responded, but he could see Bonnie's point. "But I see your point. What's the deal between Klaus and Scott, anyway?"

"Scott and Ayanda and Sky bumped into Klaus and Kol outside the Grill yesterday and I had to cut the bickering between Ayanda and Sky and Kol and a staring contest between Klaus and Scott."

"So they know each other?"

"They know of each other. They met for the first time yesterday and Klaus didn't miss the chance to invite Scott to dinner to 'thank' him for helping him decide the official name of his pack." Bonnie replied, rolling her eyes.

"Scott helped Klaus name his pack? On their first meeting?" Stefan asked, confused.

"Scott addressed Klaus as the Alpha of the Hybrid Pack and Klaus rolled with that and decided to officially name his pack Hybrid Pack right there and then and invited us to a semi-formal dinner at his house tonight to celebrate with his pack," Caroline answered.

"Klaus invited you to his house for dinner?"

"Uh, yeah," Bonnie responded. "We weren't going to accept, but Scott accepted the invitation and if something happens, he might need backup and I'd like a little payback."

"Speaking of, could you give us Klaus' phone number so that we can tell him that we accept his invitation?" Caroline requested.

"Sure," Stefan said. "But I want a meeting with Scott, can you arrange it?"

"As long as you're not going to pick a fight with him," Bonnie replied.

With potential future dealings with Rebekah in mind, Mary and Nora came up with an idea to enchant three objects with the power to make their holders invisible in every way.

Rebekah disappeared after they voiced the idea and came back with four matching longer than usual silver necklaces with diamond pendants and asked Mary and Nora to enchant them, the fourth necklace being for Lydia.

They did as asked and made it so that when the diamond pendants are rubbed in a clockwise circular motion three times the invisibility spell would take effect and when rubbed three times anticlockwise the spell would be undone, and linked them so their wears could communicate.

Rebekah exchanged phone numbers with the Heretics afterwards before they parted ways.

Klaus' House

Kol woke up to feet going up and down and all over the house, nails being hammered into walls, knives hitting cutting boards and Klaus giving orders all around the house while Kimberley gave her own in the kitchen.

The only person who seemed to be going about her usual morning rituals was Greta who Kol heard running outside the house while motivating herself to run faster. He wondered what Klaus had in mind; hence he got up to check after wearing a dressing gown.

Only to find Klaus directing Hayley and Nate on which paintings to put where and how. However, Kol was surprised that the paintings Klaus wanted up weren't just any paintings.

They were some that were rather personal, some of which Kol has never seen before, like the painting of the whole Mikaelson family; Elijah, Esther, Finn, Henrik, Klaus, Kol, Mikael and Rebekah.

Just then, a phone call came in on Klaus' phone coming from Scott who called to accept the invitation and give the number of the people he was going to attend the dinner with.

Kol made sure to listen in and noted that there was one more person he didn't know about that Scott was bringing, and he hoped it wasn't Jordan Parrish the Hellhound.
