after reading past chapter 200 in "Taylor Varga" i got curious about the "Higher Powers" and came up with this. 8/1/21: changed to in-progress since i still find myself writing this.

After Annette died, Taylor was left only with a man who knew he was a bad influence but still tried his best. Sometimes that's not enough. You end up in an endless corridor with numbered doors. Most of them lead to another version of Earth Bet, where the nexus that is Taylor Hebert experiences life differently - sometimes very badly. Others reflect upon other characters.

Some even seem to actively hinder her. Will she be able to become a hero that makes her young siblings proud and keep her city safe? Or will she get backstabbed by her own powers before she gets anything done?

Anthony Dan Hebert is conceived two years before Taylor Hebert. Filled with his previous knowledge and memories of the story, how will his existence change things? Will it be for Better or for worst? The Celestial Forge is the greatest combination of crafting powers in Jumpchain, meaning it is the greatest combination of crafting abilities in all of fiction. In Brockton Bay a forgotten side character's trigger event ends with him linked to the Celestial Forge rather than his intended shard. His expanding collection of tinker abilities drag him into the city's cape conflicts.

Heat, energy, plasma. Her heart was on fire and her body followed suit. Now, she has to juggle the life of a Cape, and the body of something straight out of a fantasy novel. She wants to be a hero, but when everyone is knocking at her door, energy companies included, sometimes it feels like she can't even breathe. Oh, wait.

When Taylor realized just what her Tinker power was trying to tell her, she had to make a choice. Does she risk making a possibly genocidal AI so she can make a difference in the world? Or does she continue to exist as the personal chewtoy of the universe? The choice was easily made.

Trapped in the body of a monstrosity in the form of an angel in an alternative Earth, a human conscience tries to make sense of the world around it.

Commission! - Most people's powers manifest in ways easy to understand and easy to use. Things like super strength, shooting lasers and walking through walls were the norm. Taylor, however, was stuck working with beakers and weird texts that range from the strange, to the weird, to the wonderful, then back to the weird. At least she hasn't gotten as bad as Myrrdin... yet.

The average person can easily understand that when it comes to living in a crime-infested city like Brockton Bay where villains carve out their own personal fiefdoms, treating life like a game can get you killed.
