Great hall, Sunday lunchtime

"Harry! There you are!" Hermione exclaimed as Harry sat down at their lunch table in the great hall, attacking the bowl of chips in front of him."What too you so long?" Hermione asked. Harry rolled his eyes, "Romilda Vane."

"Again?" Ron snapped, "Just hex her, she'll be fine-"

Hermione kicked him under the table, making him yelp, "No, don't do that. Maybe talk to Dumbledore about the issue- it's getting ridiculous really."

"I told you hex her-" Hermione shot them another glare causing the red head to shut up. "Hey Mione."

Harry looked and saw Pansy sit next to the curly haired girl, planting a kiss on her cheek. "Hey Pans." Hermione replied as she shuffled over so Pansy could sit properly beside her. "I'm with Ron- Just hex her-"

"I'm not kissing you for a week." Hermione replied hastily, causing Pansy to pout a little. "What subjects did you pick?"

"Potions, Transfiguration- all the ones for an Aurora." Harry replied, eating some chips. "What about the extra subjects?" Pansy asked.

"Care for Magical creatures.." Harry said. Hermione peered at him hopefully, making him smile. "Yes Hermione I signed up for muggle studies."

"Look Harry I know Your technically a muggle born but you know doing it is really fun and interesting.." Pansy shook her head and grabbed a sandwich as Hermione continued blathering on about the subject.

"And this year's theme is theatrical and film studies-" Hermione stopped, "Oh no..Romilda takes Muggle Studies.."

Harry shrugged, "I'll talk to Dumbledore but if she tries to kiss me again I will hex her."

Hermione sighed, "Alright."

"Nah, me and Draco's sort her out." Pansy smirked. "No." Hermione snapped, "you cant solve everything with violence."

Harry raised an eyebrow remembering the way she punched Malfoy in third year, then a thought hit him, "Wait, Pansy, Malfoy's taking muggle studies?"

"Yeah he thinks it's only right after everything changed last year." Pansy replied. "Oh. Just didn't think he'd be interested in those sort of subjects." Harry replied.

"I was barley even interested myself." Harry added. Suddenly an owl swooped down and landed on the table- rather messily- with a letter in its beak. "Must be my timetable." Ron replied, taking the letter from the owl with the red head's name on it. Ron opened his letter and looked at Harry, "I have Potions first." He groaned.

Harry smiled, "Good luck with that, Ron."

"What have you got Harry?" Hermione asked.

"I don't know. Mine hasn't arrived yet-" just as Harry finished his sentence an owl flew down and topped over a bowl of pasta salads with its feet. Pansy groaned as the pasta salad fell onto her own lunch. Harry took the letter.

He unfolded the parchment and pulled out his timetable, his eyes shooting to the first period of Monday, "Muggle Studies." Harry said. "Really?" Pansy said, "Draco has that as well."

Harry put his letter down, "Oh come on Harry- you guys need to at least try be friends!" Ron snapped. "I didn't say anything!" Harry replied. "Come on, I'm dating Pansy and Ron is crushing on Blaise-" "I am not!" Ron yelled, "-Your going to see him a lot more than you'd like so you might as well befriend him."

Harry looked at Hermione in defeat, "I'll try be civil but if he makes an stupid comments I'll be snarky back to him."

Harry stood up and left the table deciding he didn't want to argue, if anything they won't have to work together and he'll be fine.

Great hall, Monday morning

Harry walked into the great hall. "Morning." Harry said dryly to Ron- Hermione was sitting with Pansy in her lap, who had dug her hands into Hermione's hair while they snogged, Harry was surprised they were kissing so openly with the risk of a teacher giving them detention.

Harry looked at Ron who looked as if he'd rather be anywhere else. Harry looked up in hopes to maybe see Draco so they could maybe have a small conversation before class but he spotted Romilda Vane and decided to forget it. "Wanna come with me?" He asked Ron, "I'm not hungry anyway after seeing...that." Ron replied.

Harry waited as Ron stood up and then the two hurried out of the hall. "Seriously-"

"Don't bring that up!" Harry snapped. "Hex her." Ron replied. "No." Harry snapped. "Well it's half and hour till class, might as well do it now so she won't bother you." Ron replied, "I'm not heading anyone it'll just get me into trouble, have you seen Malfoy?" Harry asked.

"No."

"I'll find him later, it's fine- Ugh I needed to talk to Hermione I have no idea what to do in Muggle Studies." Harry sighed.

"It's simple from what she's told me- we'll.. it's acting. How hard could it be?" Ron replied. Harry nodded, "Right."

Harry stopped walking and looked Ron in the eyes, "I don't want to disappoint Hermione but I honestly have no idea how I'm going to be friends with Draco."

"Harry, I want to sign up for Quidditch because..." Ron glanced down the hall, "Well- how do I get in?"

"Well there's techniques and you have to be fast, athletic-" Ron was still starring down the hall, "What?" Harry turned in the same direction Ron was looking in and saw Blaise Zanbini walking their way. He rolled his eyes, god Everyone is love-sick in this school.

"Go talk to him, I'll catch up with you later." Harry said, smiling as Ron hurried off. Git.

He began his way down the hallway and spotted a blonde boy leaning against the wall outside his classroom. Malfoy..

"Hey Harry." The blonde said as he approached. Harry's stomach leaped, Why did Malfoy saying his name sound so ...perfect. His robes were nowhere to be seen. His hands were in his pockets and his button up shirt was tucked into his long black pants, his green Slytherin tie was loosely done around his neck. His hair wasn't gelled back like it used to be, it was rather fluff, similar to the style hehad in third year...not that Harry had been paying attention to what his hair looked like at that time. His pale skin looked so soft, Harry ignored the fluttering in his stomach.

Draco watched Harry approach him, he had gotten taller, he was still a little shorter than him, his robes were covering him completely, his green eyes were on Draco and his slightly tanned skin glowed in the winter sun. His black hair was messy as always but Draco found it rather...attractive somehow. His small- or at least he was just small enough to be teased about it- friendly figure made him look rather cute. Draco frowned slightly at the silence, did I just stare at potter?

"Hey." He replied, not really sure why they were already on first name basis. "Hermione and Pansy gave me the grilling before, told me to be nice to you." Draco admitted. "Fancy that, they just did the same to me." Harry replied.

"Oh well, looks like I'm stuck with Saint Potter once again." Draco smiled, a playful look in his eyes, "Your stuck? You forgetting something Ferret." Harry replied.

Draco raised an eyebrow, showing off his blue eyes better, "Still going to hold that against me?"

"You just called 'Saint Potter' I think I know what's appropriate." Harry shot back playfully.

"Fancy you doing Muggle Studies? From this day about a year ago you would've shook your head and said something like-" Harry pointed his nose up in the air and used his best snobbish voice, "'what a waste of time, learning about muggles'."

Draco rolled his eyes, "Times change, clearly you don't. Still acting of a two year old."

Harry laughed, and surprisingly Draco looked at him and then started laughing with him.

"Doesn't mean we're friends, Malfoy." Harry smiled as students started to arrive. "Don't worry I'm careful with who I trust, salt and sugar look the same, Potter."

Harry thought he was being a smidge serious but he saw in the corner of his eyes, slowly, Draco smiled.

This big wooden doors which concealed the classroom swung open

"Alright classy come in!" The professor announced.

The students walked inside. The classroom was huge as most of them were in Hogwarts, there were no desks, but instead only one table at the middle of the room, there was a huge wooden stage at the front of the room with big red curtains that hung down and sweeper the stage floor. The stage was higher than the ground and there were stairs on the sides up to it. The teacher led the students up to the table, on the table there was a few containers, one of them had the words 'Lead Roles' ontop, the second one had the words, 'Main Characters' and the third one had the words 'additional/background characters.'

"As you know this term we will be studying Film and Theatrical acting and improvisation as Muggle Studies."

"Today is the role choosing." The Professor said, gesturing to the boxes. "You will write your names on a pencil of parchment and place your name in the box in which roles you wish to play."

"If you want to be a lead role, put your name in the box and the boxes are charmed and designed to pick apart your best acting features, they will decide on wether or not you are a good lead role or you may be moved to another box if they don't think you are." The professor smiled, "For example, I might think I'm worthy of a lead role and put my name in the box, but find my name is pulled out of the additional Characters box." She explained. "Our play for this year is a Mystery and Romance story."

"I know in Muggle Studies we should be doing full auditions like muggle theatres do but we don't have enough students for that nor enough time. To solve this dilemma we introduced the box system, I hope it's not too untraditional." She grimaced.

"Right, Everyone, write your names down and pick desired box, after we pick which roles we would like, I'll explain the story and the characters." The professor said. "This isn't based off of Character favourites it'll be ranked off of acting skills."

The teacher gestured to a mother pile of parchment and quills, "Everyone, line up and write your names down, you may select your box."

Harry, who was closest to the pile, wrote his name first but stood looking at the boxes while other students scrambled to write their names down. He spotted Romilda cane put her name in the lead characters box while watching him suggestively. Ugh. No.

"Watcha picking, Potter?" Draco asked. "I'm not sure."Harry replied truthfully. Draco looked at the good looking boy beside him.

He frowned, I won't make it obvious.

"I'm picking lead roles, I don't really care." Draco said, his heart building up a small amount of hope he might get a lead role with Harry so he could act with him a lot."Yeah I guess that's, reasonable." Harry replied as he slipped his name into the Lead Roles box.

"I'm trying to be careful- Romilda's got a thing for me. Even tried using love potion on me a few times." Draco pointed over to a group of girls, "I don't think Romilda's the only one."

Harry rolled his eyes, "Ugh."

The teacher began talking again, "On the rare occasion that we do get more than one person wanting to be for the same character we can do auditions, it's just rather time consuming so we let the boxes decide. Do we wish to know who has which role now or shall we wait till next lesson?"

There were several yes's from the students and Harry clenched his teeth, please don't be with Malfoy or any love obsessed girls. He wasn't still holding anything great against the blonde but he couldn't hand over his completely trust to the boy yet. The thought of ending up with a romantic role with him made him want to laugh, like that would ever happen.

"First we'll start with the background characters." The professor added. She reached into the last black box and piled out a slip of parchment, "For our background character we have Jolie Marion for the detective."

Jolie went and collected her name, the professor also handed her the script to begin reading. "Next we have Mason Allen for a background cop." Mason went up and collected his name and a copy of the script.

Once the professor handed out all of the names from that box she said, "All of you may leave, that is end of the lesson for you, read the script and practise parts for Wednesday."

She turned back to the rest of the class, "Now we will do the main characters box."

First a few girls that had been snickering and smiling at Harry were pulled out, each just as disappointed that they weren't getting a lead role. Once they'd gotten enough people to be main characters the professor handed out copies of the scripts to them and then let them go early, "If you are still here now that means you are guaranteed to get a lead role."

Harry sighed at the sight of Romilda Vane still standing hopefully. "For our lead Character, the detective Lucas, we have..." The professor reached into the box and pulled out a slip of parchment, "Harry Potter."

Harry smiled weakly but felt sick at the fact that all the girls left were now crooning over the fact that they could be his love interest. "For our Love Interest we have..." The professor reached in and pulled out two names, "Oh! Two people, might have to do auditions tomorrow then..."

"Romilda Vane And Draco Malfoy for the detective's love interest Alex." The Professor announced. Harry froze, Draco Malfoy?

He shook his head, it's a children and teens play there's probably no serious romantic interaction between them.

Harry grabbed his script and left without a word to the blonde or Romilda.

Griffindore Common Room

"There's kissing!" Harry snapped. Hermione chuckled and Ron cracked a smile, "Dont laugh! If you knew who the love interest auditions are for you wouldn't be laughing either!" He growled. Hermione was laughing still, "What else is there?"

"They've got to push me against the wall, they have to try kiss me, we have to dance at a night club- and I've got to act like all of that is fine while playing the part of the detective at the same time!" Harry snapped, "And we've got to kiss multiple times in the practises!" He snapped, throwing aside the script onto the coffee table by the fire. Hermione moved Crookshanks and sat up more on her couch, "Wait, who's auditioning for the love interest role?"

Harry went red in the face and sunk into his robes, "I'm not telling you."

"Harry!" Ron snapped, "Come on mate, it can't be that bad."

"Romildaanddraco." He muttered.

"What?" Hermione asked, "Cant hear you."

"Romilda Vane And Draco Malfoy." Harry said clearly as he picked up the script again. Hermione threw her hand over her mouth, "Oh my gosh- Harry when I said become friends with Malfoy that not what I meant-"

"It's not what I meant either! They picked it not me! It was randomised by skill." Harry groaned, "God I'd rather snog Malfoy a million times then let Romilda touch me-" Harry stopped when he saw his friends faces, "Oh shut up its not like I'm even friends with Draco."

"Well I guess it depends on who does better in the auditions." Ron said. Harry grimaced and read through the script, "Which scene are they using for the auditions?"

"If it's for the love interest they'll most likely use a scene where they have to interact with the main character." Hermione told him.

"Great so they're using the kiss scene?" Harry snapped, "First lesson of Muggle Studies and I have to make out with Romilda Vane And Draco Malfoy."

Hermione smiled, "Guess it'll be an interesting lesson then."

Harry wasn't listening as the two further discussed the topic, he was reading the script. There was a strange dynamic between the characters. Alex was so persistent and flirtatious with Lucas were as Lucas was focused and trying to push Alex away, in fear of him being hurt while the serial-killer is after people. It reminded Harry of sixth year when Pansy and Hermione got together Harry had wanted to be friends with Draco but Draco kept pushing him away and telling Pansy it was too dangerous to side with them.

And then towards the end Lucas gives in and you know happy ending blah blah blah...Harry just felt that the story seemed a bit too personal. Too real. In sixth year Harry had been trying so hard to figure out who was on the dark side and thought it all too dangerous to even have few friends like Ron and Hermione and Draco was amount the untrustworthy. In the story it's similar, Alex is a suspects and Lucas can't decide who to trust. He shrugged off the thought.

Mondayafternoon, Slytherin common room.

"I've got to snog Harry." Draco said.

Pansy looked up from her book, "What?"

"in Muggle Studies we're doing a play for the film and theatrical study and I'm the love interest, he's the main character." Draco explained. Pansy raised an eyebrow, "Well-"

"Don't make a stupid comment on it Pansy." Draco snapped. He thought about what he wanted to say before he asked her. Don't say it! You need to ask her though...

He frowned, "Pans?"

"Mm?" She hummed.

"Is it- am- is it weird that I want to kiss him?" He asked, worried of her response. "What do you mean?" Pansy asked.

"Well is it strange- I just- I saw him this morning, he was walking up to me and he just looked- I was speechless." Draco tried to explain. Pansy looked at him, "Draco do you have a crush on Potter?"

Draco shook his head, "You know what- forget it. It doesn't matter." he quickly stood up and began striding away from her to the boys dorms before she could question him.

His thoughts took over his conscious once he was alone. You used to flirt with people all the time, it's a habit it's completely natural to want to tease him- but kissing him...

He shook the thoughts from his head.
