Reader Review Corner
TV Host: Welcome, everyone! This is the start of our new TV show, Ancient's Corner! In this show, we tell Ancient, our guest of honor, all the reviews he receives and how he feels about them! Let's welcome him now!
Applause, Ancient takes a seat next to the host.
Host: So, Ancient, how are you doing today?
Ancient: Pretty good, can't complain. You?
Host: Wonderful, wonderful! I'm just going to jump right into the reviews for you, is that okay?
Ancient: Yeah man, let me see them!
The host pulls up the review on the screen.
Demigod567: Kazuma! Great chapter Ancient! Yorukō x Guren confirmed? Wait wait… Yorukō x Yuina? I can't decide what pairing I like better. Also Kori is a little crazy… I like crazy
Host: How do you feel about the review made by Demigod567?
Ancient: *laughs* I like it! Yorukō x Guren… could be a thing, could not be a thing. Might have to ask Yuina first though.
Yuina busts through the entire set, irate.
Yuina (grabbing Ancient by the collar): You won't ship anyone with Yorukō-kun but me! Understand?!
Ancient (scared): Okay, okay! I'll ship him with you! Let me go, please!
Yuina leaves the set content with the answer.
Host (confused): Well, that just happened.
Ancient (embarrassed, red-faced): Let's just start the chapter.
Kazuma (walking casually through the background): Oh shit, wrong story…
"Y-Yuina-chan?!" Yorukō exclaimed, still trying to wring free from the girl.
"Oh, sorry!" Yuina squealed, getting off the boy, a blush on her face.
Yorukō got up soon after the girl, dusting off the robe given to him by Guren. He looked at Yuina, noticing she wore her mission attire, which was close to what Yorukō wore on his ANBU missions. He also took special notice that she had his sword holstered on his back, much to his delight. Noticing his stare, Yuina blushed and looked away, unable to meet his eyes.
"She does look cute in that outfit…" Yorukō thought to himself: "…wait, what am I thinking?"
"Yorukō-kun is staring at me…" Yuina thought to herself, still unable to look directly at him: "Is there something wrong?"
"Hold on a second, Yuina-chan." Yorukō stated, breaking the girl out of her thoughts: "Why ARE you here?"
"I deserted the village to find you, well, more like forced to desert the village, but I did want to find you!" Yuina replied, her mood darkening.
"Wait, you deserted the village? Why?"
"Well, it all happened a day ago…" Yuina began.
One day ago…
Yuina was at her home packing her belongings, her mind determined to flee the village after her encounter with the Taiyōkage. The nerve of that man, she thought, giving the love of her life a mission to murder HIS teammates, HIS friends…well she was sketchy on that one, and spared one person. Then, after all of that, he weirdly demanded to have Yorukō's sword for whatever reason, which was the final nail in the coffin for her. She was almost done packing her clothes when she felt a change in the room's wind.
"Who are you?!" Yuina asked, grabbing Yorukō's sword: "Show yourself!"
"Relax, Yuina. It's just me." Anna declared, the woman somberly looking at the girl: "I just came to talk to you." Yuina noticed the tightly clenched paper in Anna's hand but opted to say nothing about it, at least for a little while. She became a little more relaxed after a while.
"Anna-san, you scared me a little there." Yuina informed the older woman as she turned to continue packing up her belongings, the girl starting to become suspicious of Anna's sudden presence.
"Sorry about that," Anna said, looking around the girl's room: "that one was on me. Cute little room you have here."
"Thanks. I try, you know?" Yuina replied, trying to draw out the conversation with the older woman.
Meanwhile…
The other shinobi in Anna's group met up in the village's center, each of them upset at themselves and one another.
"Damn it," one cursed: "Where is this damn girl?! Better yet, where the hell is Anna?"
"Maybe Anna found Yuina and she's about to contact us." Another shinobi answered.
"That doesn't make any sense, Generic Jōnin #1," the third shinobi said, looking confused: "Her orders, like the rest of us were to pump chakra into that paper she got, alerting us with where she was so we could go help detain Yuina."
"First of all, Generic Jōnin #1 is NOT my name." the now dubbed Generic Jōnin #1 exclaimed indignantly before turning to the other shinobi: "Second of all, Generic Jōnin #2, if we're going to go by that logic, it's kind of unlikely she would find the girl and NOT immediately alert us about it."
The now christened Generic Jōnin #2 hung his head in shame after being given his name.
"Hah! You're a generic ninja now too!" the unchristened shinobi happily exclaimed.
"Don't be too sure about that, Generic Jōnin #3." Jōnin #1 told him.
The now christened Generic Jōnin #3 shot a withering glare at Generic Jōnin #1.
"Whatever it is, we'll just have to trust Anna-san." Generic Jōnin #2 said.
"Hey! Why does she have a name?!" Generic Jōnin #3 indignantly asked.
The other two shinobi shrugged, not bothering to try and answer their comrade's question.
With Anna and Yuina…
Yuina stepped back after Anna told her the real reason why she came to see the girl, mainly to capture her and bring her back to the Taiyōkage's office for questioning. Yuina grabbed and unsheathed Yorukō's sword, pointing the blade at Anna. The girl had tears in her eyes, feeling betrayed at the woman.
"Yuina, put the sword down and let's talk about this." Anna told the girl.
"Stay back! I don't want to have to hurt you!" Yuina screamed, her anger rising more and more as she looked at the woman.
Anna brought her hand up to her face and sighed. "Look, Yuina. I really don't want to do this."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't want to take you in. Something about all of this doesn't seem right, but orders are orders, the village rules dictate that you can never abort a mission, no mater what it is." Anna said.
"But Yorukō-kun broke the mold of the village! He aborted his mission!"
"Traitors don't count." Anna coldly countered.
"Don't you ever call Yorukō a traitor again." Yuina told the woman, a vein popping on her head while her chakra levels began to increase. Stunned by her fearless and bold behavior, Yuina stayed with the emotion, not faltering one bit.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to come off that way. Point still stands though," Anna said, taking a deep breath, a tear falling down her eye: "I need to take you in to complete my mission. I'm sorry, Yuina." Channeling her chakra into her paper, it did not take long for the 'Generic Goon Squad' to appear at the location, all four shinobi now facing the girl.
"Yuina-san, please do not take this personally." Generic Jōnin #2 politely said to the girl: "but a mission is a mission."
"Fine," Yuina said, defeated: "Just allow me to put these away."
"Fine, but hurry up." Generic Jōnin #1 told her. "And bring the sword with you. That was also part of our objective."
"Yes… understood." When the girl went to go 'put her things away', she placed a seal on each bag before pretending to put them into her closet. Soon after she (pretended) to put them away, she turned to the group, putting her clasped hands at her waist when she walked out with the group. Right as Yuina walked through the door, the girl quickly formed a hand seal with her hands. Before anyone could try and catch the girl, she disappeared into a cloud of smoke, everything she 'put away' disappearing with her.
"Well, that can't be good for us." Generic Jōnin #3 said before turning to Anna who looked somber: "Judging by your expression, it seems you were here long before us, or at least knew what was going to happen."
"Whatever the case may be, we need to go see Lord Taiyōkage and inform him of our failure." Generic Jōnin #1 told the group before using a smokeless shunshin to leave the now mostly empty room, the others following suit.
End Flashback
"…and that's how it all happened." Yuina finished.
"Wait a second, so let me get this straight: you used some form of fūinjutsu on your belongings before using body flicker and flee the scene, then reverse transported your belongings with you?" Yorukō incredulously asked.
"Yep!" Yuina happily replied, proud of her work.
"That's actually really impressive." Yorukō complimented, giving the girl a warm smile. He was about to continue his journey when he remembered: "Wait! How did you find me?"
"Funny you should ask, Yorukō-kun." Yuina replied, taking the teen's other sword off her back before handing it to him: "When I fled the village, your sword began to get a bit cold. I thought nothing of it, but the more I kept walking in the direction you were last in, the colder it got. That made me keep following until it literally got frigidly cold, causing me to start slowing down. I almost gave up when I saw you jumping on trees, and the rest is where we are now."
"Well, thanks for keeping my sword for me," Yorukō told the girl before pushing said sword away, much to her confusion: "but I recall giving you that sword. I don't want it anymore."
"But-" Yuina said before Yorukō placed his index finger on the girl's lips, shushing her.
"No buts." Yorukō said before taking his finger off her lips and turning around: "Although, it'll take me a while to get to the Land of Lightning, and I could use the company. Seeing as we're both nuke-nins now, do you want to come with me?"
"Sure!" Yuina exclaimed, her bubbly mood returning.
"Then it's settled. We can take this trail and talk about stuff on the way."
The two teenage nuke-nin took off in the direction Yorukō started in, Yorukō taking the lead while Yuina followed close behind. Luckily, the path Yorukō started in was mostly flat terrain, eliminating the need to spend extra stamina on hopping from tree to tree.
A few hours later…
"You're kidding!" Yuina laughed, recalling what Yorukō just told her: "Your mom really did that to you?"
"I'm serious!" Yorukō tried to put on a serious front but failed miserably, laughing with the girl: "I remember coming home with Kazuma and she was mad at us, like really mad. Kazuma got off easy due to his young age, but me? She 'sparred' with me for a month, citing I messed up big time, and I still didn't know what I did to this day! Honestly, I think she felt her combat senses dulled and needed an excuse to use me as the testing dummy and boy did it hurt."
With the land of lightning almost in sight, Yorukō and Yuina sighed in relief, thankful their journey was about to come to an end. Suddenly, they were intercepted by a group of five tanned bandits wearing ragged gear from the Hidden Cloud, each of them looking at Yuina with a lecherous grin on their faces, much to Yorukō's sudden annoyance.
"Now, we could say, 'give us everything you guys have' and be considered your run-of-the-mill bandits," Bandit #1 told the group: "but we could do better than that. You see, my men haven't had some…action in a while, and what better way to go about it with that stunning woman by your side?"
The other bandits nodded in agreeance with their leader, each hoping to get a piece of Yuina for their satisfaction. Yorukō became more and more enraged at the bandits' innuendoes, leading to him grabbing the hilt of the sword. He was about to counterattack when Yuina stepped in front of him, a smug grin on her face.
"Sure, why not?" Yuina asked, much to Yorukō's shock.
"You can't be serious, Yuina-chan!" Yorukō protested before the girl turned to look at him, her smug grin turning into a sly one.
"If you can beat me, then I'm all yours." Yuina said, turning to the men, showing them the same sly grin.
"This'll be easy." Bandit #2 replied: "There's five of us, and two of you. What's to stop us from overpowering you?"
"Try me and find out. It is sad though, resorting to cheap methods like these to even get close to a woman. Makes me wonder if your mothers ever taught you guys better." Yuina smugly countered.
"That's it, you little bitch!" Bandit #2 said, a thick vein appearing over his head: "No one talks to me like that!" he charged at the girl with a kunai in his right hand. He tried to slash at her, but Yuina dodged the slash in time, backflipping a small distance from the man.
"You're too slow~" Yuina said, sticking her tongue at the man: "Didn't you want to do things with and to me?"
"This is completely unexpected out of Yuina-chan," Yorukō thought to himself while watching the girl fight: "Her reflexes are on par with mine if not better, but something's off about it. She's almost too evasive."
"Shut up!" Bandit #2 remarked, charging at the evasive girl; kunai in hand: "Maybe if you're in one place, I could've finished the job by now!"
This caused Yuina and Yorukō to sweatdrop after hearing that. "How dumb is this guy?!" they both thought in unison.
The bandit did another slash at Yuina, the girl dodging under the blade. This time, she slapped the bandit's exposed skin with her right hand before body flickering further from him and towards the main group. Unbeknownst to that bandit, a sealing formula was beginning to form under the area Yuina slapped. Enraged at the girl dodging him, Bandit #2 turned to see where she went and charged towards her, his blind rage clouding his judgement.
"I don't think he knows where he is…" Bandit #4 said, concerned.
"Honestly, he's letting a teenage girl get in his head…it's embarrassing." Bandit #3 added.
"We should just go. Let's turn ourselves in for our past crimes." Bandit #1 said, shaking his head in shame and annoyance.
"Agreed," Bandit #5 said, the other bandits leaving the irate Bandit #2 behind.
"What…what just happened?" Yorukō asked, stunned. Yuina reappeared beside the boy, the smug grin never leaving her face.
"Those guys gave up after seeing their teammate turn into an idiot. Honestly, I'd leave too if I were in their shoes." Yuina told the teen.
"Argh! Fuck those guys anyway! At least I have you all to myself, pretty girl." Bandit #2 said, turning to look at Yuina with a perverse grin on his face, his blind rage fading.
"Let me-" Yorukō said, only to be cut off by Yuina's hand.
"You've already lost. Look at your right arm for me."
The bandit looked at his right arm, a black sealing formula vertically etched down the middle. Before he could say or do anything else, he began convulsing as the black formula began to glow a brownish color.
"Fūinjutsu: Earth Flower." Yuina incanted, the seal began to stretch to all over the bandit's body. Once the seal finished spreading, rock spikes began protruding out of his body with each one being positioned in a flower-like pattern, each one hitting vital spots in his body. Almost immediately, the bandit dropped to his knees dead from losing too much blood.
"And that takes care of that. Let's go, Yo-" Yuina said.
"That was AWESOME!" Yorukō exclaimed, looking at the girl with stars in his eyes: "I didn't know you knew fūinjutsu!"
"I-I practice from time to time, Yorukō-kun." Yuina modestly admitted, "It was something I liked to do, and the rest came naturally to me."
"Could you help me refine my fūinjutsu skills?" Yorukō eagerly asked, looking at the teen girl.
"Sure!" Yuina happily replied: "Maybe we'll get even closer together! Good girl for using that move!"
"We've reached the land of lightning already," Yorukō said, his expression becoming serious: "We'll meet up with my contact soon." He closed his eyes and sensed for Kori, her chakra signature not that far from the pair.
"Let's go." Yuina said before Yorukō, the latter taking off while the former kept up. Soon enough, Yorukō arrived at a small wooden cottage, Kori's chakra signature stopping here.
"We're here." Yorukō said, walking up to the door and knocking on it.
"Who the-" Kori cursed as she opened the door, stopping her would-be rant when she saw who it was: "Yorukō-kun! Good to see you!"
"Good seeing you too, Kori. Did you manage to find any leads while I was gone?"
"Yeah. Turns out his name is Tatsuya Yagi." Kori said, Yorukō's expression going dark at the mention of the name.
"So, I was right." Yorukō thought to himself: "They were one in the same. This works out perfectly."
"Um…" Yuina softly said, catching their attention.
"Wait, that voice… Yuina-chan?!" Kori exclaimed.
"Kori-chan!" Yuina happily said, running to and grabbing the girl in a hug.
Another chapter, a cliffhanger! Muhahahahaha! I love playing on the minds of le fanbase, it gives me great joy!
All jokes aside, R&R, and be good out there! Ancient, signing out!
